    Thank you 🙏 dear Julian for another great video. Your presentations are always very exciting and even a non-professional can follow them well. Especially me with almost 6 decades on my shoulders. I never thought twice about the iPhone so another lesson learnt. Keep up your fantastic work. Take care and a Servus from an otherwise very quiet long-time subscriber here in Bavaria

    Definitely surprising behavior. Excellent summary of preferred ISOs and zebra settings! Now I just need a good way to mount a variable ND to the phone.

    for audio videos you have the live waveform in the background, so for video videos you should have a live cam feed over there lol

    This is actually pretty much what happens with modern dslr and mirrorless where iso just becomes a digital amplification of the signal

    Hi, Julian, sorry for asking a question unrelated to the video. Does Audient ID14 mkii have a different sound from Audient ID24? Your ID14 review was 3 years old and ID24 was 1 year old. Listening to both, they did sound extremely different. However, Audient said they should sound exactly the same. Were there any changes in recording?

    Interesting findings Julian and appreciate all your work and I have not heard this anywhere else. Personally I found from quick tests, the noise levels at 1600 iso far too high for my liking for daytime with nd filters that some insist on due to Geralds findings. Also interesting you mention ETTR when some are saying you need to expose to left for iPhone 15 pro/max. After fiddling too much with the iPhone I decided to return to my Sony A1 as it seems more fun.

      What you missed from his video was to only use ISO 1600 indoors and at low light. For bright daylight use ISO 55, 100, and or 200 max. Julian is spot on.

      I really should have but the A-Roll is actually a Fujifilm X-S20. The iPhone will get close but the depth of field is a straight giveaway.

    So, what ISO should I use when using ND filters in bright conditions?

    • @JulianKrause
      @JulianKrause  Месяц назад

      Same rules apply. For the sharpest results I would stick to ISO 55, 100 and 200 with ND. If it gets too dark, I would take the ND off before jumping to ISO 1600.

    I prefer 1250, it’s also one of the easy to reach values. I didn’t see why you said that value was worse than 1600, isn’t it identical? It almost acts like a dual iso system, I try to use 1250 when possible, outdoors, 55.
    I prefer ProRes 422 LT, and avoiding conversion lut’s and using cst’s or color management also helps with banding and artifacts.

      And He Recommends ETTR When ISO Set Low Such As 55, 100, 200.
      But Many Videographers Such As Patrick Tomasso & Christian Maté Strongly Recommend ETTL - 1 〜 -2 in Any Situation ❗️
      Which Do YA Think is Correct ❓
      And When We Use CST WHICH ONE DO YA PREFER ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓

    whats bugs me the most is that the phone designers KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING. it's no accident. Why are we as the end consumer always getting served a pile of "hidden gotcha's" with every new product that comes out?
