I love how you can’t tell before clicking if “balls” refers to octopus testicles or just spheres made from octopus flesh, and how both are equally plausible bc it’s Emmy.
That was the first place where my entire family’s minds went when I went to Japan a few years ago and was trying to describe some of the food I was trying over there. I “accidentally” disconnected the internet on the video chat while they were laughing hysterically over the matter ^^”
Good evening Emmy! 🤗 I enjoy seeing how excited you get when cooking or trying something new. I absolutely love your channel. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend❤
I love to watch your videos and my kids often watch over my shoulder. My 6 year old son just told me, "Mom, I've never seen that before! Are we having that for dinner?" I said no, and he immediately pipes up, "I want to try that! It was BEAUTIFUL!!!" Guess we may be trying something new for dinner in the near future!

I don't know if anyone else played The Legend of Starfy, but as a kid I was always so confused as to why they used octopus in the dumpling minigame... seeing as it's a japanese game they must have actually been making takoyakis!
I used to love that game!flipping as fast as i could was always so fun. Until one day i went to spend some days with grandma and i left my ds cartridges in my dirty pants. Next thing i knew my clothes was out of the laundry and my beloved starfy game went missing )": rip
I looooove this video so much when the mega ones pushed perfectly and were nicely browned on the outside I was so excited. I also feel like Japanese mayo is way different from its American counter part I don't feel as gross when I pack on the kewpie lol. Such a great video Emmy! Thanks for sharing.
I much prefer the small size (golf ball) one’s. Look silly while trying to make and eat the big ones. But I do enjoy watching them being cooked. Thanks for sharing. Aloha
I love how excited you are in this video. I also love takoyaki though I don't think I've ever had freshly made ones. And now I'm hungry... I think it's time for breakfast, hahaha
Thank you for the recipe as well as the demo. You do have screen presence, girl! I've had takoyaki in Ōsaka, and, yes, they are ga ga over takoyaki there! Probably one of the best places for street food!
Octopuses are my favorite animals, so even if I ate meat I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do so. The other day I saw a restaurant that was listed as having vegan takoyaki and I was excited to try it because takoyaki seems to be everywhere here in Japan but it was a liiiiieeeeee. They didn't actually have vegan takoyaki. T_T
Hey, Emmy! Have you ever tried a recipe that just didn't work after many attempts and end up with no video and you needed to try something else? Or are you super determined to do it until you get it?
Out here in Vancouver BC, we are blessed with good Japanese cuisine. My other half came from to the UK and tried takoyaki at a matsuri and fell in love with it. I need to try to make these for him next time he comes.
You're Food Network material! If they don't contact you, it's their loss. Have a good evening! Also, did you know that Octopuses demonstrate a highly evolved intelligence? Eating them, I think is ethically questionable. However I'll never turn down Some Takoyaki!
What is takoyaki supposed to taste like? i had some when i was at Uwajimaya in Seattle and idk why but it tasted so bad to me.. like really smelly feet and i tried so bad to like it 😥
if you live in Seattle, try visiting a ramen shop and eat their takoyaki. Kizuki ramen makes them really well! Uwajimaya probably doesn’t sell them fresh and that’s why it smells bad.
Nesha Cruz if you’re not a dough or seafood person, I wouldn’t try them! the half cooked dough inside and pungent flavor from the octopus isn’t for the faint of heart. I like most foods but it took a couple tries for even me to like it.
Wow these look so good. I'm definitely trying this on my culinary journey through Japan in my Canadian kitchen. Thank you for a fantastic description ❤❤❤❤
They do look really freaking good though and that stuff on top dancing around looks pretty cool. It's funny to watch the little pieces move like that, hahaha.

I love how you can’t tell before clicking if “balls” refers to octopus testicles or just spheres made from octopus flesh, and how both are equally plausible bc it’s Emmy.
That's because octopi don't have testicles per say. They have a sperm packet stored in thier head that looks nothing like a ball.

Are octopus smarter than Cows and Pigs? They have the intelligence level of a dog or 3-4 year old child.
Batman Anderson why say that as if that doesn’t apply to cows, pigs, and lamb? pfff please save your philosophy.
I agree about the Food Network. They hired Hannah Hart, for goodness sake, and she can't even cook. Emmy would be so popular.

What is takoyaki supposed to taste like? i had some when i was at Uwajimaya in Seattle and idk why but it tasted so bad to me.. like really smelly feet and i tried so bad to like it 😥
It shouldn’t taste like smelly feet. Fresh octopus should have a oceany flavor (like a visit to the seashore) and no stinkiness whatsoever.
if you live in Seattle, try visiting a ramen shop and eat their takoyaki. Kizuki ramen makes them really well! Uwajimaya probably doesn’t sell them fresh and that’s why it smells bad.
Eww. No. don't eat the ones at uwajimaya. Got to Izakaya Japan on 2nd. Takes them forever to make though. Enjoy some Oolong Highs while you're there.
