  • The jury wasted no time in convicting Alex Murdaugh on Thursday of murdering his wife and son in June 2021. The next morning, Judge Clifton Newman dressed down the disgraced lawyer before sending him to prison with two consecutive life sentences for the killings of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh. After court ended, key players that helped lock up Murdaugh spoke with the Law&Crime Network about their role in the case and their opinion of the disbarred South Carolina attorney. Mark Tinsley, an attorney for Mallory Beach's family, explains why he believes the deadly boat crash involving Paul Murdaugh triggered a chain reaction that ultimately led to his father killing him. Sidebar host Angenette Levy Sidebar and Tinsley recap key moments from the last 24 hours of Alex Murdaugh’s family murders trial.

He got rid of the clothes with blood stains. He got rid of the gun. His friends the policemen gave him a pass by not securing the murder scene immediately and by overlooking a bunch of things they should have taken as evidence. By the way, did Alec Murdaugh hire a PI to look for the killer o killers of his beloved wife and son? Why did he call his only surviving son 48 minutes after the 911 call? Was he dozzing off or wasn't he? How could he not hear the gunshots in a quiet place like that if he was so close? Why did he ask his mother's caretaker to lie about how much time he had spent at the house? Or their housekeeper as well? Most importantly, he confessed he lied about the most important piece of evidence only because he had been caught in that video and the excuse for his liying was an even bigger lie. I just don't understand why so many lawyer seemed so dissapointed with the veridict. Could it be because the one convicted was one of their own? A seemingly normal man can murder his family for no apparent reason, remember Chris Watts?

The few minutes while Waters spoke about Maggie and Paul were very telling in my opinion. Through the entire trial, every time Maggie or Paul were mentioned, AM INSTANTLY started crying, wiping his eyes and nose constantly. This time, nothing. Not Even so much as a red eye! The jury did their job and did it well!

Alex, I think deliberately, refrained from informing judge Newman of the remainder of the term he used to describe his modus operandi by which he's operated on his entire life it appears, as it perfectly and succinctly sums up EXACTLY what Alex did whenever he was confronted with the cold, hard truth, that being.... "Oh what a tangled (sometimes changed for wicked) Web we weave, when first we PLAN TO DECEIVE".

I have a question… what ever came about with the “b*mb threat” that was called to the courthouse in the judges chambers?? Any arrests? Does it just disappear?? Because Alex, that day when he was told about it, sure as heck grinned that evil grin as if he knew about it. And even if he didn’t, he freaking grinned at the mention of a threat to a courthouse and the judge presiding over his trial! He’s an evil evil man!

When Waters asked him on the stand about the Dogs. Were they barking or acting up like they could sense something or someone they didn’t know was close ? Were they just doing what dogs do when they see or sense a stranger ? No Mr. Waters there was No one Else out there , There was nothing for them to sense. Waters said “ oh okay well that’s good “ !! So now he has admitted his alibi is a complete work of fiction and lies and there was No one Else except for the three people we heard on the video. For me that was a solidifying fact that this monster is guilty

What a ridiculous thing for a judge to say. I hope he doesn't give all killers an out to blame the monster inside them as if they aren't responsible for their own actions because this judge likes to conclude they weren't themselves. Just psycho babble.

Trying to find out something concerning the dog kennel video. So, was the video being discovered a surprise or were they looking for a video that Paul's friend had informed them that he was expecting and never received? When did they retrieve the video? When was it presented to the Grand Jury? When did the defense find out about the video and when were they able to see it? When was the 1st time Alex found out about the video and when did he first see it? AND I wonder if they only got to hear it 1st or also saw the video. I know it was brought up in court on Feb. 1, 2023. However, I don't remember it being submitted into evidence. Seems like the State just presented it to the witnesses.
