I really hope Mykayla makes it on the team. It seems like she always tried her hardest but it’s never enough. I hope they give her a chance to prove herself this time.

I think even if mckayla did score just a little bit lower than grace she would be a better pick. She has years more confidence and experience especially since she started competing NCAA. USAG needs that for this team. But like most people have said. Both are very deserving of the spot 💕
I definitely think Myk HAS to outscore Grace and not only that but do so on FX and VT. She was only top 3 on vault and not on any other apparatus. One would not expect to see her up in the rankings on beam and bars but she SHOULD be up there on FLOOR and she was NOT. Grace is SOLID across ALL FOUR apparatuses and I think that will count.
They need her vault score. If Jade Carey fails to make the team, which appears to be the case, they need someone who can consistly throw down something more difficult than a DTY.
This is absolutely heartwrenching that there are so many high-caliber, hard-working, medal-capable gymnasts that won't be named to the team. At the end of the day, it's a difference of hundredths of a point, which is why you're only as good as your last competition. My team is Simone, Suni, Jordan, Myk, and Riley (and of course Jade).
@@margaretwerba004 It depends on which she does first. She said in her vlog today that she did the Amanar vault first because it scored higher both nights of nationals, but since it didn't on Friday, she is going to switch it back to second.
Grace is so clean and well..graceful. Myk is fiesty and daring. Its such a tough call. They will be teammates at Utah in the fall too. Good Luck to All. I wish them both the meets of their lives tonight. Leave it all out there.
i LOVE grace and her gymnastics but she just does not look confident enough for an olympic spot right now. i wouldn’t rule her out for the next olympics at all (look at myk and chellsie) unless she decides to quit gymnastics entirely
she’s going to utah and will be on the gymnastics team there, idk if she’ll come back to elite after NCAA. if she doesn’t make it this time around i hope she pulls a skinner and comes back for ‘24!
For a lot of gymnasts, it's not always a choice to retire, but just that your body has had too many injuries and ongoing pain. Regardless of what happens, I hope Grace has a great time in NCAA, just like Mykayla did! They are both amazing athletes.
I actually think her floor score was fair, I love her but she has a ton of built in deductions on her Moors that cost her like 9 tenths every time she does that pass even with a good landing (low chest, pike down, bent knees, etc.)
It's so hard to decide between Grace and Mykayla, but I really want to see Mykayla perform like she did night 1 or even better again. I want to see Grace doing her absolute best as well because seeing either of them do poorly is so heartbreaking. If they both do well, then one will be chosen and the other will likely be an alternate.
It's a toss up between them! Grace actually outscores Myk on floor, even with a much lower D score. This will be interesting and heartbreaking - so many talented athletes very deserving of a spot.
@Connor Shook yeah, just noting that they are very close. Their AA scores were only .1 apart. Myk has the vault advantage, but they are very close and each fill the 4th spot well.
@Connor Shook The difference between them is if perchance in the Olympics one of the MAIN 3 cannot go up on ANY apparatus, you can TRUST that Grace can do so and put up a good score. I am afraid the same cannot be said of Myk. Having said that, one has to admit she is looking WAY better than she use to and has made noticeable improvement. I just think she needs to not just place higher than Grace but place SIGNIFICANTLY higher than Grace score wise.
aa score doesn't matter they are taking who mathematically makes the strongest team with best average scores from both nights of nationals and trials on each event. mykayla mathematically helps make up the highest scoring team. even though people love to say scores are inflated in usa, i think mykayla can score way higher on floor internationally. the stigma is annoying and the scores they gave her on night 2 of champs and night 1 of trials on floor is a joke. if she hits vault and floor tonight like she did day 1 she's going.
@Connor Shook Well it remains to be seen. Although I prefer Grace, I will be happy if it is Myk instead because she has REALLY worked hard on her form and she is showing great determination. One has to admire that.

Her floor scores have been reasonable; she just has many small errors that add up. Her Moors gets more deductions that it is worth and her leaps have always been deducted. However, if Myk goes to Tokyo and gets hammered on floor execution, they just won't put her up in team finals on floor. Simone, Suni and Jordan can handle floor and Myk will be used for vault only.
Of any results for the team tonight, it would most surprise me if they don't give Riley the individual spot. Besides Suni, there's no one else who could end up on the team who does consistently better on bars than her.
Tom used to coach Myk, and has recently flown out to Arizona to see her so I’m guessing he will go with her just because he knows how Myk trains in the past

MyKayla makes the most sense between the two. The 4th spot should go to the one that has the best shot at an individual medal. They just need a decent 4th member since this team will very likely dominate even with 3. And while it shouldn't be a factor, her story is amazing along with her enthusiasm and experience. I would be bummed if she doesn't get it.
Awww, I really wanted Jade to compete with the team. Glad this stupid rule/stipulation is gonna be abolished this quad. I never really understood the point of it, way too confusing.
Consistency will be a big factor I think... However, Myk turned up the heat for the trials, but she was a bit sketchy during other meets. I also think age may come into consideration (I know that's controversial, but it will come up)... She has had issues with endurance and following through at times. She had the energy for trials - but can she maintain that through the rigorous Olympic meet? Or will the vote go to the younger pick as a "safety net"? Myk will have to prove endurance AND consistency.
Myk is the same age as Simone. Enough about that please. Endurance: perhaps was an issue after she recovered from Covid but it is obvious she is getting stronger every day. Peaking at the right time is the optimum for any athlete.

There's no offense to be taken, it's just a factor they will have to consider, because of Mykayla's inability to maintain peak stamina at this stage in her career. Watch her vlogs?? She has very low endurance - BEFORE CVD19 was even an issue. She stated it many times how she has to work on endurance, but by the time she reaches the ends of her routines on bars and floor - she's just not always able to pull off the performance she would've even a year ago - consistently. It's just fact. And it's going to come up when they look at what's best for the Olympic team. Peaking at trials is great... Can she maintain that throughout the Olympics?? She's not getting stronger every day, if you watch her vlogs - she's getting tired - training is taking a toll on her more and more as the weeks go on. Adrenalin can peak performance for so long, which she stated was a driving force for her. at trials... CAN she MAINTAIN that?? I would LOVE to see her do so! She's my pick - has been for years.... However, I'd like to see her healthy coming away from it all too. We'll see... I'm cheering for her... As well as having realistic expectation. That's all.
I'm rooting for Grace, but honestly everyone works so hard! It's a shame the team is so small-- Grace, MyKayla, Kayla and Leanne are all very talented gymnasts who would probably easily make the team in almost any other country.
they didn't air it but she did well, Someone who knew nothing about scoring would have looked at it and thought she did great ( meaning no huge obvious baubles/ mistakes)
With Simone Suni and Jordan on the team, the 4th girl will probably only end up doing vault (maybe floor) in the team final so mykayla makes the most sense to me
I disagree on Leanne Wong. even if she delivers a massive AA. she still fell on night one. And consistency is more important than scores, Tom knows the USA has the rest beat by almost double digits and mostly because of Simone. (which is why I think Grace has a higher chance than Myk) Such a hard quad. holy
MyKayla also has room for improvement on vault landing, beam less wobbles, and bars less rushed and we’ll see if we see the full twisting pak she’s been working on tonight in night 2! 🤩
I see two main races here: If Myk can pull off the 3rd place in AA she is in. If Chiles can remain her 3rd place in AA, Myk needs to hit Beam and Bars to compete for the 4th spot. I have no doubt Carey will bring home the silver on VT and eventually another on FX, as long as she isn't injured, so max. medals for USA are secured. Wong, McCallum and Myk are basically just competing for max. EF medals, so they need to cover UB/BB. (No matter which combo, even if one needed to replace Biles' spots they would get the gold in TF.) If Myk hits the Beam she has a chance, but solid scores from McCallum on both BB/UB could be enough to pop that bubble.
i really hope mykayla makes it! not only because i love her, but because it would help the team. the USA is so far ahead already but i don’t want to see sunisa vaulting more than she has to on that ankle. i want suni and myk to medal so bad🤞🏻🤞🏻
I think Grace's gymnastics will be scored higher by the international judges in terms of artistry and execution. I think Grace will be the Kyla Ross of 2020. Will help out the team with clean routines but won't medal individually.
I'm thinking it will be between Grace and Makayla. I'm leaning towards Grace. How these two perform will determine who will make the team. Can't wait to see Day 2 at trials!
I think even if scores are close you take Myk because she has individual medal potential. IMO Grace does not though it’s possible she could make beam or floor finals if others fall. Myk absolutely could get a vault medal if she beats Jade in qualifying, which is definitely possible.
I think Grace is the better choice. Grace still brings solid floor routines and vaults and she also typically does better on bars and beam than Mykayla so she would be better to step in on bars and beam should they need her. I just would rather anyone else get the fourth spot than Mykayla LOL
@Connor Shook This was the only time all season that Mykayla scored higher on beam than Grace. Grace also beat Mykayla in the all around at Classics and Championships. I am not denying that Mykayla had a good day on Friday, she was great, but I think Grace is simply more consistent overall and will do better on bars and beam should they need her. Just my opinion!
Mykayla was clearly underscored on floor. To me that sends a signal that "they" don't want her to qualify. Whether that's because of her age or her ankle issue or something else. I hope she makes it though.
Her floor scores have been fair I think, a bunch of deductions for form breaks etc. add up! She has improved greatly in a short period of time though so that's nice!
I love Grace but I feel that she is not there mentally. Also she really doesn't add a lot in terms of the team. I feel like Myk might be the best choice. Even if just for her vault alone
I completely agree. It’s so close between MyKayla and Grace, but based on Night 1, I would choose MyKayla. If they both mess up on Night 2, then the 4th spot could go to Kayla DiCello. I can’t wait to see what happens tonight!
I would love if either Grace or Mykayla made it. The thing is if Simone Suni and Jordan are the first three people it isn't reall like they need a lot of help on floor or vault which are Mykayla and Grace's strong events.
Grace and Myk are really fighting it out in my mind. I would love either of them to be chosen, though I think Myk is going to run away with it and get selected. Myk has really improved her skills and cleaned up her form ever since NCAA, and Grace has so much to give to the team too. It's so difficult to choose with all the talent the US has 😳

I'll feel so sorry for Grace if she doesn't get it because she works so hard and improved a lot - but so has Myk and really cleaned up what she needed to to get this far. If any argument was going to be made about individual spots for anyone, I think Jade and Riley have those two snatched up for vault and bars.

I honestly hope that the gymnast most worthy of the 4th spot based on numbers from this weekend is picked. No politics, no what ifs. Between Myk, Grace, Kyla, and Leanne, whose VT/FX averages from the weekend maximize team USAs potential should be chosen. This is the Olympic Trials not high school, I hope they stay clear from politics and stick to the numbers.
Personally I am THRILLED with the selections, I think they put forth the team that will give them the best chance for the team AND for the individuals. Grace can easily be the third performer in any one of the four events should Suni not be able to vault or to do her floor routine, and MyKayla has a great opportunity for a medal on vault. Great job.!
Here's how I would have the team in the team final. Simone and Jordan do all four events. Suni on bars and beam. She is obviously good on all four events, but with her ankle/achilles I think it would be safer to protect her from further injury. Mykayla on vault and floor. Grace could obviously contribute on vault and floor as well. It depends on how close their scores are on those two events tonight, because Grace has better execution and while her difficulty is lower, she still scores very close to Mykayla.
Happy for Mykayla, really hope she makes it this time. But I also really like Leanne, Grace, and a few others that are fabulous gymnasts. It’s sad that there are so few spots.
I’d be happy if either MyKayla or Grace made it! I’m from Utah, and they both are connected to the University of Utah gymnastics team: previously and incoming!

I'm rooting for Skinner, she has improved a lot. If only she could clean up her form on the floor a little bit. Especially that Moors opening pass she's not far off getting it downgraded to a Silivas, form is very suspect. That would be disastrous as it would mean her next pass, the Silivas would not be counted either. However, her vault has been great and her beam also very good.
Rooting for her! She should take out that moors, she gets HAMMERED on it (piked hips, bent legs, leg separation etc), so she doesn’t even get the benefit of the difficulty . A double lay out is probably easier for her and cleaner. Also, in her final pass she could switch it from a 2.5 to a triple, she lands it a lot better in her vlogs.
In my opinion, Mykayla is the better choice over Grace. My predictions for team final would be: Vault- Simone, Jordan, Mykayla Bars- Suni, Simone, Jordan Beam- Simone, Suni, Jordan Floor- Mykayla, Jordan, Simone Grace is a great gymnast but without the upgraded vault she was training, adds no value to the team in terms of overall score and lacks the potential to score individually. My choice for the last individual spot would be Riley
The switch one competition can make in all of you lol. Myk was great on day 1 but she still fell a lot and scored really low in anything but vault in every other competition so idk. Even if she hits today again I wouldn't say she is for sure getting that spot
Remeber not because a gymnast get a 3third or 4th final aa score means the she gets a team spot..ONLY first and second aa in olympic trials are locks the rest is choosen for comiitte
I kept telling everybody that they were not going to send skinner because she is not reliable enough at the international level on bars and beam. I am happy she is going to get her Olympic experience as an individual, but they threw her that bone. It really should have gone to the gymnast most likely to be able to medal on bars behind Lee which I believe it would be McCusker. Oh well
If grace preforms like she did on Friday it’s for sure going to be myk, but if grace preforms like we know she can tonight it’s going to be really close. I think with myk’s experience, and consistency they’ll be leaning more with her, but like I said if grace has a huge night she might just take it.
Its going to myk and she could of had a higher vault score cuz he cheng scored higher last night and she said at gymnix she got a 14 and the routine wasnt as good so really she had an even higher possiblity

Really, it could be a toss with Grace and Myk...It won't matter to me which of the two, though I am leaning towards Myk. If it is these two they have to choose from for the 4th placement, I don't want want to be them.
Got to say Mykayla is making waves here and is looking good for the 4th spot. Someone made a point under another video that I did not consider before and that is that the US would not want to carry 2 gymnasts to the Olympics who have not had international experience and I had to agree. Based on that, I think this is really between Grace and Mykayla. Myk would have to do better I think on floor because it suppose to be her strong suit as well as vault. She did not place among the top 4 on any apparatus other than vault and I think if she does not do a better on floor then she is not going to be picked. Grace is solid across ALL FOUR apparatuses and as much as we like her, the same cannot be said of Myk. HOWEVER, if she can be STEADY on beam and bars while having great FX/VT then I think she may JUST get in. Tonight is IT!!
I really hope it's MyKayla, but Grace is of course such a stellar athlete and she and her family have sacrificed so much. I'm so glad it's going back to five for Paris.

MyKayla has team experience from college. Grace has better amplitude. Then there's still a spot for the individual left.

Apparently, Tom visited several of the gymnasts across the country during the pandemic, not just MyKayla!
I have kind of a random video request (if you have the time / are interested of course)… but I would love to see a bunch of people’s top scores and who you would’ve picked for the team if everyone was not injured / performing their best :)
MyKayla makes the most sense between the two. The 4th spot should go to the one that has the best shot at an individual medal. They just need a decent 4th member since this team will very likely dominate even with 3. And while it shouldn't be a factor, her story is amazing along with her enthusiasm and experience. I would be bummed if she doesn't get it.
Awww, I really wanted Jade to compete with the team. Glad this stupid rule/stipulation is gonna be abolished this quad. I never really understood the point of it, way too confusing.

Consistency will be a big factor I think... However, Myk turned up the heat for the trials, but she was a bit sketchy during other meets. I also think age may come into consideration (I know that's controversial, but it will come up)... She has had issues with endurance and following through at times. She had the energy for trials - but can she maintain that through the rigorous Olympic meet? Or will the vote go to the younger pick as a "safety net"? Myk will have to prove endurance AND consistency.
I agree, endurance plays a big factor in her performances but her determination will be a big factor tonight as well.
Myk is the same age as Simone. Enough about that please. Endurance: perhaps was an issue after she recovered from Covid but it is obvious she is getting stronger every day. Peaking at the right time is the optimum for any athlete.

There's no offense to be taken, it's just a factor they will have to consider, because of Mykayla's inability to maintain peak stamina at this stage in her career. Watch her vlogs?? She has very low endurance - BEFORE CVD19 was even an issue. She stated it many times how she has to work on endurance, but by the time she reaches the ends of her routines on bars and floor - she's just not always able to pull off the performance she would've even a year ago - consistently. It's just fact. And it's going to come up when they look at what's best for the Olympic team. Peaking at trials is great... Can she maintain that throughout the Olympics?? She's not getting stronger every day, if you watch her vlogs - she's getting tired - training is taking a toll on her more and more as the weeks go on. Adrenalin can peak performance for so long, which she stated was a driving force for her. at trials... CAN she MAINTAIN that?? I would LOVE to see her do so! She's my pick - has been for years.... However, I'd like to see her healthy coming away from it all too. We'll see... I'm cheering for her... As well as having realistic expectation. That's all.
Well, thank goodness she made the team - even if it's only as a specialist... I think that's awesome for her! Go Myk! :-D
I'm rooting for Grace, but honestly everyone works so hard! It's a shame the team is so small-- Grace, MyKayla, Kayla and Leanne are all very talented gymnasts who would probably easily make the team in almost any other country.

I haven't been able to find a video of Mykayla's UB from night 1. Did they not air it on NBC?
they didn't air it but she did well, Someone who knew nothing about scoring would have looked at it and thought she did great ( meaning no huge obvious baubles/ mistakes)
With Simone Suni and Jordan on the team, the 4th girl will probably only end up doing vault (maybe floor) in the team final so mykayla makes the most sense to me
I want Leanne on that team, hopefully she can get it together and rock it tonight!
I really think Myk has a fantastic shot - she can help on vault a lot of there’s a lot of potential between Myk, Jordan and Suni on BB and FX.
Will they be sending more than 2 alternates like the men’s team is doing?
I disagree on Leanne Wong. even if she delivers a massive AA. she still fell on night one. And consistency is more important than scores, Tom knows the USA has the rest beat by almost double digits and mostly because of Simone. (which is why I think Grace has a higher chance than Myk)

MyKayla also has room for improvement on vault landing, beam less wobbles, and bars less rushed and we’ll see if we see the full twisting pak she’s been working on tonight in night 2! 🤩

I see two main races here:
If Myk can pull off the 3rd place in AA she is in.
If Chiles can remain her 3rd place in AA, Myk needs to hit Beam and Bars to compete for the 4th spot. I have no doubt Carey will bring home the silver on VT and eventually another on FX, as long as she isn't injured, so max. medals for USA are secured.
Wong, McCallum and Myk are basically just competing for max. EF medals, so they need to cover UB/BB. (No matter which combo, even if one needed to replace Biles' spots they would get the gold in TF.)
If Myk hits the Beam she has a chance, but solid scores from McCallum on both BB/UB could be enough to pop that bubble.
i really hope mykayla makes it! not only because i love her, but because it would help the team. the USA is so far ahead already but i don’t want to see sunisa vaulting more than she has to on that ankle. i want suni and myk to medal so bad🤞🏻🤞🏻

I think Grace's gymnastics will be scored higher by the international judges in terms of artistry and execution. I think Grace will be the Kyla Ross of 2020. Will help out the team with clean routines but won't medal individually.
I'm thinking it will be between Grace and Makayla. I'm leaning towards Grace. How these two perform will determine who will make the team. Can't wait to see Day 2 at trials!
I think even if scores are close you take Myk because she has individual medal potential. IMO Grace does not though it’s possible she could make beam or floor finals if others fall. Myk absolutely could get a vault medal if she beats Jade in qualifying, which is definitely possible.
I think Grace is the better choice. Grace still brings solid floor routines and vaults and she also typically does better on bars and beam than Mykayla so she would be better to step in on bars and beam should they need her. I just would rather anyone else get the fourth spot than Mykayla LOL
@Connor Shook This was the only time all season that Mykayla scored higher on beam than Grace. Grace also beat Mykayla in the all around at Classics and Championships. I am not denying that Mykayla had a good day on Friday, she was great, but I think Grace is simply more consistent overall and will do better on bars and beam should they need her. Just my opinion!
Mykayla was clearly underscored on floor. To me that sends a signal that "they" don't want her to qualify. Whether that's because of her age or her ankle issue or something else. I hope she makes it though.
Her floor scores have been fair I think, a bunch of deductions for form breaks etc. add up! She has improved greatly in a short period of time though so that's nice!
This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know out of the gymnasts at Olympic trials who will stay elite afterwards? I know some go to college/NCAA

I love Grace but I feel that she is not there mentally. Also she really doesn't add a lot in terms of the team. I feel like Myk might be the best choice. Even if just for her vault alone
imo her balance beam and floor exercise are also stronger than grace’s

I completely agree. It’s so close between MyKayla and Grace, but based on Night 1, I would choose MyKayla. If they both mess up on Night 2, then the 4th spot could go to Kayla DiCello. I can’t wait to see what happens tonight!

I would love if either Grace or Mykayla made it. The thing is if Simone Suni and Jordan are the first three people it isn't reall like they need a lot of help on floor or vault which are Mykayla and Grace's strong events.

Grace and Myk are really fighting it out in my mind. I would love either of them to be chosen, though I think Myk is going to run away with it and get selected. Myk has really improved her skills and cleaned up her form ever since NCAA, and Grace has so much to give to the team too. It's so difficult to choose with all the talent the US has 😳
I feel like Myk makes more sense in the context of the team. Grace is awesome but with Simone, Suni and Jordan already locked she is not the best choice. It sucks because Grace is great. Anyway we'll have to see how tonight goes.

I'll feel so sorry for Grace if she doesn't get it because she works so hard and improved a lot - but so has Myk and really cleaned up what she needed to to get this far. If any argument was going to be made about individual spots for anyone, I think Jade and Riley have those two snatched up for vault and bars.

She needs to be up there on floor as well and score in general higher than Grace because Grace is SOLID across ALL FOUR apparatuses whereas Myk is not. Btw, Grace scored higher than her on FLOOR.

@@sclohessy4759 it sucks that the team is so small because there are a lot of gymnast like Grace that are excellent and deserve a chance too. Maybe if Grace had had more time to come back from her injuries or if we were talking last year the choice would have been different.
I honestly hope that the gymnast most worthy of the 4th spot based on numbers from this weekend is picked. No politics, no what ifs. Between Myk, Grace, Kyla, and Leanne, whose VT/FX averages from the weekend maximize team USAs potential should be chosen. This is the Olympic Trials not high school, I hope they stay clear from politics and stick to the numbers.
Personally I am THRILLED with the selections, I think they put forth the team that will give them the best chance for the team AND for the individuals. Grace can easily be the third performer in any one of the four events should Suni not be able to vault or to do her floor routine, and MyKayla has a great opportunity for a medal on vault. Great job.!
Here's how I would have the team in the team final.
Simone and Jordan do all four events.
Suni on bars and beam. She is obviously good on all four events, but with her ankle/achilles I think it would be safer to protect her from further injury.
Mykayla on vault and floor.
Grace could obviously contribute on vault and floor as well. It depends on how close their scores are on those two events tonight, because Grace has better execution and while her difficulty is lower, she still scores very close to Mykayla.

Happy for Mykayla, really hope she makes it this time. But I also really like Leanne, Grace, and a few others that are fabulous gymnasts. It’s sad that there are so few spots.
I’d be happy if either MyKayla or Grace made it! I’m from Utah, and they both are connected to the University of Utah gymnastics team: previously and incoming!

I dont trust mckayla or grace in a pressure situation but i'd love to see mckayla go she was so devastated last time,if jade had'nt gone after the individual spot i would have said Simone,suni,Jordan & jade

I think Mykayla is a 50 50 since she could be really consistent on beam sometimes but also not
I'm rooting for Skinner, she has improved a lot. If only she could clean up her form on the floor a little bit.
Especially that Moors opening pass she's not far off getting it downgraded to a Silivas, form is very suspect. That would be disastrous as it would mean her next pass, the Silivas would not be counted either. However, her vault has been great and her beam also very good.

Rooting for her! She should take out that moors, she gets HAMMERED on it (piked hips, bent legs, leg separation etc), so she doesn’t even get the benefit of the difficulty . A double lay out is probably easier for her and cleaner. Also, in her final pass she could switch it from a 2.5 to a triple, she lands it a lot better in her vlogs.
In my opinion, Mykayla is the better choice over Grace. My predictions for team final would be: Vault- Simone, Jordan, Mykayla
Bars- Suni, Simone, Jordan
Beam- Simone, Suni, Jordan
Floor- Mykayla, Jordan, Simone
Grace is a great gymnast but without the upgraded vault she was training, adds no value to the team in terms of overall score and lacks the potential to score individually. My choice for the last individual spot would be Riley

The switch one competition can make in all of you lol. Myk was great on day 1 but she still fell a lot and scored really low in anything but vault in every other competition so idk.
Even if she hits today again I wouldn't say she is for sure getting that spot
Remeber not because a gymnast get a 3third or 4th final aa score means the she gets a team spot..ONLY first and second aa in olympic trials are locks the rest is choosen for comiitte

I kept telling everybody that they were not going to send skinner because she is not reliable enough at the international level on bars and beam. I am happy she is going to get her Olympic experience as an individual, but they threw her that bone. It really should have gone to the gymnast most likely to be able to medal on bars behind Lee which I believe it would be McCusker. Oh well
If grace preforms like she did on Friday it’s for sure going to be myk, but if grace preforms like we know she can tonight it’s going to be really close. I think with myk’s experience, and consistency they’ll be leaning more with her, but like I said if grace has a huge night she might just take it.
Its going to myk and she could of had a higher vault score cuz he cheng scored higher last night and she said at gymnix she got a 14 and the routine wasnt as good so really she had an even higher possiblity
I was actually surprised by Mykayla, I really didn't think she would be in the mix after night 1. I was very, very wrong! I really thought Grace would end up in 4th. Man it's gonna be interesting to see what happens tonight.

Really, it could be a toss with Grace and Myk...It won't matter to me which of the two, though I am leaning towards Myk. If it is these two they have to choose from for the 4th placement, I don't want want to be them.

Got to say Mykayla is making waves here and is looking good for the 4th spot. Someone made a point under another video that I did not consider before and that is that the US would not want to carry 2 gymnasts to the Olympics who have not had international experience and I had to agree. Based on that, I think this is really between Grace and Mykayla. Myk would have to do better I think on floor because it suppose to be her strong suit as well as vault. She did not place among the top 4 on any apparatus other than vault and I think if she does not do a better on floor then she is not going to be picked. Grace is solid across ALL FOUR apparatuses and as much as we like her, the same cannot be said of Myk. HOWEVER, if she can be STEADY on beam and bars while having great FX/VT then I think she may JUST get in. Tonight is IT!!
And so it is, just as I thought it would be, except for the specialist spot though. THAT does not make sense.
