- These are my Olympic predictions for Team China! China has shown many beautiful routines internationally this year, and there are so many gymnasts headlining the field for the Olympic team! After getting so close to a medal at last year's World Championships, I suspect that this year might be their time for redemption in Team Finals after a tragic seventh place finish in Tokyo. Comment down below your predictions for Team China!

Zhou Yaqin recently trains DTY
If only she had an average Chinese UB routine, she'd really be an AA contender. A Chinese gymnast that doesn't swing bars is so odd to me, when there's such depth of talent on beam and bars over there

God I wish Qi Qi got to go to an Olympics. She would have helped so much in 2021 on China's awful vault and floor rotations and would've been PERFECT for this Olympic team
December 2020 she was looking soooo good at the national championships with a DTY and a Silivas on floor. Really sad how quickly her form degraded just a few months later. If the Olympics happened in 2020 it probably would have probably been Liu Tingting, Wei Xiaoyuan, Qi Qi, and Tang Xijing...in the end only Tang Xijing made it
I know 😭 she competed a 5.7 (5.9 under this code) that would quite literally score in the 14.5s. Then she performed horribly at 2021 worlds and I haven’t heard about her since. She was always my favorite and may have helped China in Tokyo tremendously

@@Ajay.Plants Li Shijia is one of my favorite gymnasts ever and she would have definitely made the team if she wasn't injured in 2021. In 2020 though she was also injured and at the national championships she only competed on bars, so she wouldn't have made the Olympic team if it happened in 2020 either. The strong performers at 2020 nationals were Liu Tingting, Qi Qi, and Wei Xiaoyuan, and then Tang Xijing would make it as the best of the rest as she had a DTY and a usable bars
I don't know why so many people here don't think OYS is a lock for this team. She is usable on every event, she can potentially make 3 individual finals AND has proven to be the most consistent athlete on the national team this quad by far.
Please do a Team Usa, France, Italy, Brazil, Canada & Japan. Thank you.

i agree with this team, but there’s basically no backup on bars - zhang qingying and zhou yaqin are both inconsistent/bad at bars. i think they might opt for a bars specialist instead of du if they can add more to the team score than a dty
ZQY is training a 5.8 bars routine!
@@grozdovas do you know if zhou yaqin has been training bars too?
also, du siyu has just been wildly inconsistent on bars, so it might not be super smart to send her for the dty but risk a meltdown on bars
@cow2076 zhou yaqin is not training anything on bars but ZQY is training weiler kip and weiler kip 1/2 which will boost her D-score a lot. and could be a good 4th bars routine.
But with a hit dsy can outscore the bars specialists while also adding a point on vault
Tbh Zhang Qingying was injured at Worlds 2023 and didn't do floor but I would be interested to see what her routine looks like this year. if she also has ~13.3-13.5 routine I would seriously consider taking a bars specialist over Ou Yushan

Great analysis! I think ou yushan could possibly be replaced but I’m not sure
I’m not an expert on the subject but I know that geopolitics has a lot of effects in the Chinese team selection. So that Ou is from and competing for Guangdong, the most populous province in China, really helps her case.
But a DTY and her whips on floor back would ofc be a huge asset for her.
She is in the final team. China just announced the final team members.

OYS fits the Leanne Wong role of being a built in alternate, but I feel like HZF>.
HZF could medal on bars and score 15s with her upgrade (6.8). Plus with ZQY on floor and ZYQ on vault, you wouldn’t lose much on the routines OYS would miss.
That being said, if someone on the HZF team goes down they’re cooked 😂. But I still think that’s the team to take if they want to fight for gold and if they want to maximize their medal potential.

I don't think China could rival the US unless the US gymnasts had the worst meet of their lives. The difference in difficulty on vault will probably be an average of at least 0.5 and could be way more. Qiu's vault just really brings it down. Same with her floor, as she will probably score at least 0.5 lower than the lowest American. Then with Simone's floor and potential YDP if needed, China will be knocked back a lot. China will be stronger on beam, but bars will be fairly close. Overall, I think the US would need many more falls than China to lose
I don't think the gaps are that big, not at all, the USA doesn't have renewal from the last cycle and in the last World Championships they depend a lot on Simone's performance, having little distance from Brazil's score. The Chinese are out there doing 14 highs and even 15 on beam and bars, while the Americans aren't even competing, with a better performance in Floor and Vault China would win even handsomely because in the other apparatuses it is already ahead
@@enzoleonardo4822in 2022 with out Simone us won I feel with out Simone us is better going to the Olympics us is going to have chengs n Amnar which china doesn’t have on bars they are the same n beam us is good n floor us is the best china needs us to fall on every event with the worst meet us was 167 last year n it went 171 in qualifiers missing top gymnasts like jade suni Jordan n gabby china is going to rival for second n third it’s Brazil n GTB n France that really most on their top gymnasts with out Simone this year if suni Shilese gabby can win gold AA n second AA if they both hit n don’t fall last year shy beat Andrade in qualifiers n she was going to in finals with out that fall
@@enzoleonardo4822 Italy is a more a threat to USA WAG than China lol. Both are inconsistent, but at least they have 3 DTYs and 3 6D bars.
You are right. Italy is a powerhouse than China. The channel overestimated China in Tokyo (2nd -> 7th). Hope this time they are better.
@@cocoroni1031 but with the upgrades am seeing now Italy is not ready whole team is going to fall hope 2months are enough to clean up coz countries like china,France,Brazil,Japan seem to have clean routines now
