Mcdonalds, Starbucks and Subway should be allowed to buy every food chain it wants and rebrand them selling the exact same food so that they consolidate all profits from the fast food industry and that this is a good thing because otherwise that guy in Tennesse would have never tried any fastfood from that small chain in San Diego. The big companies have a larger reach and introduce mom and pop food chains from all over the country to everyone meaning the customer wins and the Mega fast food chains win.

Regardless on if X is right or not I believe a lot of what Ethan claims comes from just hatred and a negative bias. It's one thing that over the years I disliked Ethan for and I used to be a fan of his back in his prime during 2015 - 2016. I even remember all the beef he had during the time Pyro, Keemstar, Leafy and Ethan were at each other's throats back then. I was even around watch the early episodes of the H3 podcast as well. That's around the time I stopped watching him because I just didn't like who he was anymore. I check up on him and it's sad he's still the same. The way he spoke with Hasan and how combative he was showed that he isn't able to keep debates reasonable. Another example was when he started laughing when reacting to QTcinderella and the deep fake situation. I know he's apologized to both Hasan and QT on each respective situation but it's that problem I've always had with Ethan and what made me stop being a fan of his to begin with. I watch X, Hasan and other streamers in the space and Ethan just seems out of touch and too narrow minded compared to them. He seems to let himself get blindsided by his hatred towards X to even look more into things. Mauler even pointed out that if X brings up the fact that he is willing to cooperate with content creator's on this issue that Ethan would struggle with his "thief" claim and I agree. That's just how I see it.

I think Mauler's main frustration that I myself agree is that by encouraging react content and not condemn it morally (because legally I cannot see it happening on any platform unless you are going to China levels of monitoring) you get less and less quality content. If someone puts their heart and soul editing a video, gets say 10k views, but then hundreds of big react Andys "steal" the video with no transformation at all and they get more views therefore more money while the original creator is left with smallers views. All the while robbed by potential views because they already saw their content so why bother coming back to the original, that is demoralizing.
So then everyone will just make easy, digestible, run of the mill content because why the hell to try for more.

But it's not potential viewers. Xqc showed that there is no overlap between his community and whatever he is reacting to, especially since he streams on another platform than youtube. He also showed that the next videos of the channels he reacts to get more viewers, so unless you have proof that these mythical "potential viewers" are more than the actual viewers xqc sends to the next uploads of these channels your argument has no basis in realty. Also there haven't been ANY channels, ANY that stopped uploading videos because of react channels so you're just wrong

@@bardol359 it's more about the principle.
The word "potential" viewers implies that it isn't proven, only that there's potential for those viewers to see the content.
The end all be all, is that sitting there while saying nothing on stream while another person's video babysits your chat for you is not at all transformative.

    • @bardol359
      @bardol359 11 месяцев назад +3

@@aTalkingKoala8294 you're just wrong, there is no principle there. If it's not proven (because it's false which you won't admit) and it is proven that the channel gains subscribers and viewers for the next video then that's a net benefit for the creator. Creators themselves agree with this and allow people like xqc to react. As for it not being transformative that's only if the reactor never said anything in the video, which even then we can argue that chat makes the content transformative. The only bottom line here is that creators benefit from reactors and you are butthurt for no reason at all, especially since xqc asks for permission. There are no principles here, just you being in your feelings

@@bardol359 you read waaay more emotion into my reply than there actually is, I assure you lmao.
The principle is, transform. End of story.
Sitting there while saying nothing isn't transformative whatsoever.
Giving one or two sentences of shallow input every other minute isn't transformative either.
I agree with you about the views. Most people aren't going to watch those videos anyway so we can let that argument go.
What I'm advocating for is simply this- the reaction should be a completely different product by the end of the stream due to the streamers input.
If there's very little difference in watching xqc quietly watch someone else's video and watching the video itself, then it hasn't been transformed.
It's basically using someone else's intellectual property for personal gain. The only way it becomes ethical to do is if the stream transforms the content.

If he wasn't streaming I would go look for someone else that was similar.
The argument of. Well why would they pay you contracts if they were replaceable? It's because at the moment, they are what's seen as valuable and viewers will navigate towards the content they want. Sometimes regardless of the platform. Does that mean their will never be another xqc? I don't know how they can say that with a straight face. Music bands, sports stars, pop idols. They all come and go. Destiny contradicts himself multiple times. When talking to xqc, X says the people whose videos are used need to “prove harm” referring to the fact that they lost views/money. Destiny corrects him and says “not necessarily even if they don’t lose money, if you own that property you have the right to how it’s used.”
Then later when Pisco & Mauler bring up that same point, he says that’s not what copyright should protect you from.
Then he says he will always take down a video if someone asks unless it’s like Ben Shapiro or someone if he feels that they are trying to avoid criticism and just censor him. Then explicitly admits he would choose to stop specific people from using his videos in fair use ways if he could.. which is exactly what he was complaining about.
It literally just sounds like he wants copyright laws to only benefit him.

Aba and Preach have been the standard of good takes for the most part imo to me at one point. Anyway, after fanboying Andrew Tate (in the past), Pearly Things (in the past), and so many other content creators, I have just come to learn that no matter who you agree with 99% of the time, you can't trust these people because they all make content for monetary gain, and money changes everything.
If Aba and Preach ever have crazy takes such as Aba's here, I ain't surprised nor do I expect them to always be right. These guys live in a different world.
I look to no one online for advice or guidance, hell at what time, I thought Kevin Samuels was the man, but now... I think the majority of his views on women was utter BS besides his message on men improving themselves.
Best people to look to for guidance ain't people who say things to the masses for monetary gain, it's really the people who care about you and are around you who don't benefit from giving you any truth or wisdom other than because they care.
Internet is simply entertainment at this point.
