Hey I think people need to realize lav isn’t stupid. She just doesn’t understand what the words she’s using mean. She has a large vocabulary, and just throws words around she clearly doesn’t know the meaning of . As an ESL person myself , I think she would benefit from doing some vocab games with words destiny often uses so she can go back to copying his style. This MR GIRL arc she is having is a dead end.
Sorry but those ladies are supposed to b sex and bdsm teachers their main friend evie lupine is the biggest idiot of them all gives false info I pulled her up on a few topics ps I been in the lifestyle since she was in dipers
Wild, I started on Destiny's side and ended 90% on Lav (?) side. Destiny is so arrogant he can't see the massive hypocrisy and goal post changing he does in personal issues. The fact he denied having any lack of interpersonal skills BUT ended an hour convo with Lav in tears and no resolution, says everything!
Lav: says aggressive overly emotionally charged shit in stream to someone. Expects people to just deal with it. Also Lav: gets super sad and in her feels when people call her out for her dumb shit takes and critique her.
Lav is that girl in your class that was super nice in person to you but shit talked you behind your back to ruin your reputation. And when you confront her about it, she bursts out in tears in front of everybody to make you look even worse.
@@sargeteg5927 oh yeah she totally is bro, fucking good one, zinger. i mean u really hit the nail on the head there. u r so knowledgeable and well spoken
I literally feel like I watched someone lose a friend in real time because the friend wouldn't change for the better. I almost cried when he brought out the game at the end just to calm down and get back to his headspace. God that was hard
Luv has gotten a leniency to say whatever. She been the biggest shit stirrer on the platform on multiple times to trash talk other streamers. Destiny has possibly been too charitable to Luv tbh.
At the very end of the discussion, he reassured her that they can talk whenever they wanted on steam or off stream. It's sort of his way of saying "we're still friends." I saw another comment: Steven is forcing her to take accountability for her words and the implications of them when you're an online persona. He is forcing her to grow up and not take everything so personally. She's not a BAD person, she is just immature and used to getting her way.
Respectfully, an adult that is both immature AND used to getting what they want, is the exact recipe for what makes someone a bad person or turns them into one. It's extremely clear she doesn't actually listen to what people say, you can literally see it in this conversation where she constantly tries to talk over Stephen any time he says anything remotely confrontational.
This made me think, imagine if debates had more feelings interwoven in them, but clearly separated from the facts, and instead of a debate that goes nowere we can see like, Vaush crying about his insecurities and being honest for fucking once in his existance
If she properly apologized, said she went on a selfish tangent and that it wasnt healthy and borderline malicious, and that she needs to seriously work on herself and that her attitude towards all of this has been really gross, she wouldnt have gotten tore apart. I dont think shes capable of that. Shes really quite a skilled manipulator.

When Destiny stops playing video games in a conversation you know it’s about to get spooky. When he breaks out the Notepad, we have ourselves a full on horror film coming.
@@TheOsamaBahama MS Paint is such a bad tool, every time he whips it out and draws a ven diagram or a parabolic curve, I'm like "why tf are you blowing my eyeballs out for something this simple"
@@JackPorter You would be surprised how little math people retain after high school. Parabolas are considered to be a little advanced, so you have to draw a diagram.
Destiny had a really good point when he contextualized why this entire conversation was happening: It starts with him expressing how upset he was toward her comments to his stream. She then takes it upon herself to jump into his discord and have a conversation with him in the middle of this, and then proceeds to make the whole conversation about herself and her feelings. The problem is, he never asked. He didn't care why she was saying what she said, or what she was feeling, or what she meant. He didn't reach out to her. He didn't demand any kind of change in feeling or behavior from her. All he did was express his opinion and feelings about the things that he watched her say. Literally nothing she said in this conversation was even remotely relevant to him. The only reason she came on stream was because she knew she was going to look bad to his audience, and she felt the need to stop his perspective from being heard unchallenged.
I agree with you. I believe that some people think they are cut out for the internet and they are not! You have to have a certain mind set to be able to deal with what comes with that, especially when you are going around talking about people and then get confronted about it. You also have to have the mental maturity to know when to walk away and leave it alone. Feelings are not facts and just because people feel a certain way about something, doesnt mean its a fact.
That's an unfair assessment i think, iirc she says "yea i realize what they meant yea i realize it now " or something. I don't remember exactly but it sounded like somethign she immediately corrected.
"My personal dictionary was wrong" Motherfucker there's no such thing as a "personal dictionary", that defeats the entire point of a fucking DICTIONARY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@@wren4077 this is true, youre right. I thought she was grasping at straws but it kept falling through because brittany and the other girl were calling her out for all the bs she claimed. But it was just a big cope of an excuse for her behaviour and reactions to things.
Ironically, this whole thing started after Destiny called her a "dumb-b****" because she wouldn't acknowledge that lying implies intent. She says dumb things and won't take accountability for them. When you're so tired of everyone treating you like an idiot, you forget the importance of subtlety.
@@midas2030 so destiny being based set off a chain of events that lead us to this exact moment in time? He is getting closer to achieving Godhood by the second.
The Lav guide to taking accountability: "Ok but I was emotional" "Ok but that was my anxious attachment style" "Ok but we have mommy issues" "Ok but that was just what I was feeling" "Ok but I'm new to this space" "Ok but I had to protect myself" (pick at least 3 per fuck up)
if he was "grounded" he would stop letting his pee pee get him into these situations with the most annoying, immature and dramatic people on planet earth.
Lav is… the embodiment of someone I would never want to date in my life. Can’t apologize, but when she does it’s insincere. Doesn’t take responsibility for anything and deflects. Gaslights. Interrupts. She’s a putrid human being. Gets upset when you act the way she does towards you. It’s not hard to stop and say “I’ve said these things and I recognize how they can affect people and moving forward I will do x,y,z differently.”
Forget just dating I wouldnt want her as friend or even an acquaintance. She is literally the most toxic type of person and completely unapologetic about it. Dont forget about all the projection she does too
Why is Lav's definition of taking accountability "I may have done some things not perfectly but it's your fault for being bad and mean" and why is Max's definition of empathy "I acknowledge your feelings but they're wrong and I only care about what I feel"? Destiny's orbiters are legitimately living in alternate dimensions I guess idk
Its because they dont really have empathy and if they do, they just dont take it into account. If you notice in these conversations they always seem to boil down to, "well you're right, but you are making me feel bad 😥". They dont care about anyones feelings but their own.
"Knowing that I can't interact with you in that way, I'm going to get my feelings hurt because I can't control you" - Lav she just told us everything we need to know about her and explained why her and Max get along so well. Destiny sees through all of their manipulative bull shit, and they hate it.
People like Lav are the most abusive partners in any relationship ever. The blatant self victimization, gas-lighting, abuse of psych terms, and baby talk is the most fucking disgusting, vile, and triggering thing I have ever listened to in my life. I am legitimately getting PTSD to a relationship I have never had.
It's crazy, maybe it's my inner demon incel, but the vast majority of relationships I've had with women have had this archetype. To cry or just say "yeah you're right my bad sorry" to get the conversation over with, and then immediately go back to doing what you did before. The constant like "oh you don't understand why I did this, or why I feel like this" when I understand completely. The talking in a condescending and belittling tone when they are the one who is wrong. It's fucking infuriating. Unironically far more abusive than people give credit for.
Can you imagine living with someone like that and not have a choice to leave? The world you live in would look so much different, and you be always wandering “why can’t I get anything right?”.
Oh god and when you do have it .... I guess I was lucky I had the early 2000s version before it was well defined on the internet w/ the playbook already laid out by so many online for all these types of ppl to see. My ex crossed some lines that those more skilled at the art today don't do and I was able to pull my head out of my ass and see what was really going on before I did something really stupid like marry her.
I don't know how Steve (or anyone, for that matter) enjoys that movie. I saw it as a terrible Matrix knockoff with cringey, unfunny jokes/concepts (hot dog fingers, everything bagel, etc) sprinkled in. The near 2 and a half hour movie of hopping between parallel universes and fights ends with a preachy message of acceptance, which we really needed, because that has never, ever been done before.
Actually got chills in this conversation, when Steven defended his own emotional well being and stood up for himself, asking: "What about MY feelings?" Absolutely chilling, I have not been moved this close to tears since I watched Steven talking about how the last 45 minutes of Everything Everywhere All At Once made him cry. Utterly tearjerking and incredible. Almost as much as the emotional depth he showed when the Flooded City dream occurred. Destiny has emotions just the same as any other woman
I nearly started crying after 45 minutes in the PREVIEW. It's honestly wonderful to see these hardcore debaters and dramatubers to actually show REAL emotion. And it works out best with Destiny because he's having REAL conversations with all kinds of people.
I had no idea who either of these people were until I stumbled into this video through debate search suggestions. So this is quite interesting as I have no allegiance to anyone here and no history at all . I’m in the football niche space I have no idea about twitch streaming or videos games . Here are my conclusions 1- she needs counseling - the internet is not going to be healthy for her. Just from this conversation I know she’s too sensitive for this . She wants the good parts of being online but cannot handle the downside. It doesn’t work like that . She’s not built for it. At least not right now. That’s 100% clear. She’s all over the board . It’s a mess 2- after this debate I went to some others before coming back to comment because now I’m interested and wanted to see what other interactions in this space are like . Here’s some observations -most of these people who debate this guy think they are debating but they aren’t . They are just saying what they think then googling 2 studies to support it . That’s not debating they just want to hear themselves speak . There’s little to no intellectual strategy . Very disappointed . This guy needs more worthy opponents 2- I come from the football space of RUclips and twitter. I take and give shit every day. It astounds me how soft and weak most these people are. It’s not a “debate” to say you think another guys tweet may have been taken the wrong way or was too harsh. That’s what half the debates are about . My response would be so what to everybody . Who cares if you don’t like my tweet? Who cares if it came off wrong to you and who cares if you disagree with me . Everybody in this space cares way too much what everyone else thinks and feels . The littlest micro aggressive tweets or Reddit posts or bans end up in 3 hour debates. It’s hilarious . You all take everything way, way too personally .
The funny part is, he can nearly always convince them to the point they entirely agree with his statement, they just wish he said it nicer on twitter. And his response is always the same, fuck no, I have no obligation to be nice. And personally, independent of any obligation, people need a little school of hard knocks. If that comes in the form of mean tweets to immunize them slightly for the real world, so be it.
This still feels like he's wearing kids gloves. She is utterly removed from accountability in her own head. Putting yourself forward leads to push back and any time Lav receives even a nudge she starts talking about the way it makes her feel.
Her crying was real, but the crying is just what happens when you commit to the lie so hard that your frustration of not being able to win turns into genuine tears.
I've seen this so many times. "It's understandable that you're mad with me for what I did but also I'm not entirely at fault for being that way and so you shouldn't really be mad with me and I admitted that I fucked up so stop being mad also let me explain why I did what I do so in the end I really didn't fuck up". This is literally just gaslighting.
This is exactly it. I'm guessing she's never really gotten pushback for it so she probably does not recognize her own behavior. she likely sees herself as trying to do the right thing in this conversation. Admitting she fucked up on super small things with excuses and trying to rewrite history with her "feelings". she wants to minimize and rewrite what she has done while placating and gaslighting until Destiny tells her things are ok and that she fucked up but its not that bad or, It wasn't her fault or that she was right actually somehow because of her perspective. it takes a bit of growing up to know when to just say "I fully fucked up and i was in the wrong. there isn't an excuse, i understand why you are mad and that i may have destroyed the friendship"
YUP!!!! Thought the same thing, cause that whole sentence is filled with contradictions in order to confuse the fuck out of the person she's talking to.
You have a great read on this behavior and describe it very thoroughly. However, it is not gaslighting. We really need to rein in that term and start making sure it’s used accurately again. Wait, is this reply going to be considered gaslighting about gaslighting?
Seems like Lav's entire personality is shaped by the fact she's a pretty white girl: she's not used to getting any pushback so she just runs her mouth all the time and has no understanding of accountability. You can almost see how smooth her brain is from never having to think about her choice of words beyond a shotgun blast that's vaguely in the right direction of what she feels.
She's very annoying, but somehow Destiny finds her schizo style of conversation mixed with manipulation challenging, even though she got him triggered and that's a rare thing these days for Destiny. I think he's willing to compromise because it's some sort of debate brain gymnastics training session for him. For her it's all an aesthetics game. She doesn't have any real positions, just juggles to the first thing that will make her appear stronger, dominant, in control. That's her only consistent thing and she even said that in their first interactions, it also explains her frustration with Chaeiry. They play the same game, but Chaeiry it's a little more calculated. She was so quick to unmask Chaeiry's accusations, they know they play the same boring game and call each other on it. It was amazing at the end, her manipulation tactics are so engrained, instinctual, she can't stop doing them even when she wants to be real and take accountability. She almost cried not because she cares, she got frustrated by her incapacity to stop the manipulation and emulate some empathy, she can't help but use manipulation as a way out of any situation, funny but sad at the same time. Maybe the obsession with this game of always seeming you are right and strong it's a borderline trait. Brittany Simons is also borderline and very similar to her, but fakes consistency better, her stance switches are also very quick but more subtle so they could temporarily seem to be mapped on reality, that's why she gets away with it before you can call out her bllsht. If you do call her out, she will just play around and pivot around the subject until you get bored, frustrated, or make you seem crzy. It seems like by default these people feel so empty inside that they compulsively have the urge to refill their sense of self to the point of delusion. It doesn't matter what is right or wrong, they are always in need of an ego boost. They know it's all fake and they still do it. That's why we find these people annoying, for a normal person that's mind boggling and makes no sense. Their game becomes obvious, but they still continue to play into delusion. A neurotypical may sometimes play this game but mostly for fun and stops when things get real, but a borderline narcissist will never stop, they may rarely pretend to concede in a condescending way at key moments just to feed on your frustration. Maybe online they are fun to watch, but in real life they are like vampires, they drain you because you are interacting with them in good faith and they are just playing their self centred validation game that doesn't have much to do with reality, you can't have conflict resolution because they will always try to convince you it's your fault, you just have to avoid or minimise interaction with them and move on.
It is actually impressive how she could not take full accountability for a single thing she said or did without making some sort of excuse. Truly impressive lol
no she called them liars because she didn't like their attitudes which she thought came across as dishonest despite all evidence pointing to the contrary and she thought her not liking their attitudes was synonymous with lying, which she just realized 5 seconds ago isn't how it works. so she doesn't think that.
This conversation is eye opening to me, In arguments I have I always apologize or try to say I'm emotional. I can see how that comes across when someone else is doing it. Thank you for this conversation
I used to have the same problem! I would apologize but provide excuses for my actions. I have realized however, that if you are truly sorry, there should be no "but" at the end of your apology.
Being good at apologies is actually a deceptively hard skill to learn, one that I myself have only just learned to master, so dont feel too bad about doing shit like that. Its natural to want to cope and explain how some aspect of your actions werent your fault, or how you were also a victim of your actions. It pays to think through an apology before you give it. Dont apologise whilst still in the heat of emotion or guilt. Give the other person time to cool off, genuinely think about the things you did, how that affected the person and what you can do to make it better going forward. Prepare how you are going to communicate this to the other person. If you need to write it down, do so. Dont be afraid that it will make you seem fake. It shows that you considered the nature of your mistake carefully. Then just move off the topic. Dont pressure someone to forgive you even if you felt like you gave a really good and sincere apology. Thats where I used to go wrong. Give the person room to breathe and come back when theyre ready. If you consider the person's feelings in all areas of your apology, then you will avoid making excuses.
It's a hard line to tether in relationships, where your discribing yourself while not minimizing your own personal blame in the situation. More or less reframing yourself as the victem. I guess it does ultimately come down to relationship based expectations and once you expect more from the other person then accepted it becomes very morely grey.
I think Destiny called it when he pointed out that Lav customizes what she says to enhance her connection with whomever she is talking to, instead of looking inward and representing the truth, regardless of how it rubs up against others. This comes from being a people pleaser and being high in openness and agreeability. People like this end up learning the hard way what it means to develop integrity. The truth requires boundaries and I don't think she has developed those. Trying to be everything to everyone means you don't know who you are or you are afraid to be who you are because it means really putting yourself on the line. That is what true vulnerability is. You could almost appreciate a person more who unapologetically shit talks about other people and doesn't tip toe around it. But you can't shit talk someone and then rewrite history after the fact "with hindsight". Your hindsight about what your inner process was when you shit talked the person is utterly irrelevant to the accountable apology they need from you now. When her thought process is probed, it tries to overcompensate by taking on various testable positions, which seem reasonable to Lav but to the aggrieved person seems dodgy. It's not about finding the "best fit" explanation or what happened, it's about acknowledging that you hurt somebody, that it was fucked up, and maybe even describing some actionable things you will do to avoid it in the future. The information on how to do this comes from empathy. You feel another person's suffering due to what you said/did and act from that. It's not an airy fairy intellectual exercise. Fundamentally, she doesn't want to see herself painted as a bad person, nobody does -- but personal development requires having your flaws pointed out. Where is the humility? She's making this complicated only because she is trying so hard to shoehorn a certain conclusion into the facts, whereas Destiny just wants an accountable apology. So what did we learn from this? That Lav has a constructionist view of accountability and probably doesn't know who she is. It's why she can't reckon with someone like Destiny who just calls a spade a spade. Maybe the difference is simply maturity.
Okay I appreciate the joke, but Destiny is actually handling her how a man should; not putting up with her shit and correcting her whenever she tries to pull out something shady or dishonest. If he wanted to, he could probably smash, but I'd advise against it because this girl is mad as a hatter.
@@ROBHOHHH You're a weird comment. But seriously. . . "and the argument Lav makes about destiny's community is spot on tbh" I wouldn't know. I actually don't have any idea what any of this stuff is about, and I don't care. I barely pay attention to Destiny at all, but I have a fine-tuned BS detector, and I know BPD when I see it, because I've dealt with it before. Frankly, I'd be surprised if she was right about Destiny's community, given he's a progressive (I do know that much about him) and I'm pretty sure if I started expressing my actual opinions here, which lean right-of-center, I'd straight-up be banned, _after_ being accused of being a groyper and a misogynist. . . which, to be fair, that second accusation is definitely true of me, but it's not like I don't have my reasons for that, most of which involve knowing how to read and having access to statistics, and personal experience. I'm only even commenting on this video in the first place because RUclips put it on my recommended list. I think they're trying to 'deradicalize' me, as if I haven't heard before the arguments Destiny commonly makes. I did watch the debate where Undead Chronic fucking _slaughtered_ him and Lauren Southern though, and that was good for a laugh.
Something Lav needs to understand is: just because you apologized doesn't mean you have the right to forgiveness. Forgiveness comes from another person - and they can refuse to grant it. In addition to a verbal apology, I believe you must also show genuine remorse, refrain from committing the same act in the future, and take steps to repair the damage you have done. I haven't followed Lav closely, but it sounds like she has only done a verbal apology and showed a little bit of remorse. Even taking every possible step, however, does not guarantee forgiveness.
okay but what the fuq are u talking about, she wasnt asking to be forgiven, she just wans't admitting she messed up, instead she said it was her emotions or this or that, that was destiny's whole point.
I think this is comedy gold. The funny part is, all Destiny has to do is give her the Destiny, if you know what I mean, and she will calm right the fuck down and shut right the fuck up. I've dealt with women just like her before. He's already reeled her in by demonstrating he won't tolerate her shit. Now he's got her but for the asking.
31:50 Finally Destiny tells Lav why she gets the shit she does. It's because of how she treats other people. Her obsession w/ Mr. Girl is also creepy. Also, if someone says they're empathetic, and try to tell you how you feel like Max and Lav do, RUN. These people will bring nothing of value in your lives and will wear you down.
Also, I'm a married woman who has watched Destiny's content for years. The audience has an issue with Lav not because she's a woman, it's because she makes no sense and acts like an entitled spoiled child.
We call them 'cluster b personality disorders,' includes things like general narcissism, borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, and so on.
Yeah, I get triggered hard as soon as someone starts explaining how the person they're talking to feels. It's condescending, manipulative, arrogant... I just lose my ability to remain at all objective or rational when people start doing that shit.
@@gewy982 Agreed. Aba and Erudite are probably my 2 most favorite orbiters. I also like Brittany, but I can understand why she's not everyone cup of tea.
My mother does this sh*t to me. Drives me nuts. (Well, she used to. We had a huge fight, I think I shocked her with how loud and mercilessly direct I got after 30+ years of me being pretty docile, and things haven't been nearly as bad since.) The biggest issue was she's a licensed psychologist so her arsenal of gaslighting was full of real zingers it took me years to unravel. EDIT: Worst thing you can do with a gaslighter is try to explain how they're gaslighting you. If they're doing it, they know they're doing it. You never try to reason with them, you only tell them to knock it off. Anything else will cause them to look for excuses. They'll always end up with a pile of excuses, lies and half-truths a mile deep for each and every counter-argument you make. Just call them out and resist the urge to take the bait and argue.
D: The problem is you coming on and crucifying people over stuff that you change your mind on the next day! Lav: I'm doing the Max thing where I feel like you're not taking care of my feelings but you shouldn't have to.. 1 day later.. Max and Lav: It's literally abusive of you to not take care of our feelings.
Destiny nailed what the purpose of telling the other person how you're feeling is. It's to be nonconfrontational while communicating your experience. "I'm sad," not, "I feel like you're a total bitch." Quite emotionally astute. It's weird how uncommon this knowledge is but I blame the shitty comedic trope of the couple in therapy.
Destiny. You are frequently having ageist takes. It makes you sound like a little boy. Consider RoseWrist, he is 10 years your junior and seems to have more emotional intelligence. I’m quite a bit older than you so my take doesn’t come from some offense related to my age.
While he took the kid gloves off, it felt like he reached under the desk to put the dad gloves on. A lot of the end really felt like a father trying to make sure that his child fully understands the consequences of her actions, the route that lead to the bad decisions, and how to better navigate around the pitfalls in the future. It's not about being sorry, it's not about admitting fault, it's about truly learning and growing.
I probably agree with Steven here but I didn’t even remotely get that impression. It didn’t seem at all like Steven was like “it’s not about admitting fault, it’s about truly learning and growing”. In fact Steven’s main thing was that she wanted her to admit fault, and when she did, Steven was saying that she’s admiring fault now but she wasn’t saying this before or that she isn’t admitting fault in the right way and king of beating her over the head with it. I agree with Steven’s overarching point, but Steven’s point clearly was about admitting fault and explaining to her the different ways in which she is wrong.
To me the saddest part of destiny being the literal deity that he is now is that because of the height he has reached, no matter who it is or what situation he can't really go fully unhinged and destroy someone, even now when he "takes off the kid gloves". It's even reinforced by destiny saying how he want's one week, just one where we all go sicko mode and just destroy everything, fully let loose just for the sake of doing it.
If we're thinking about the same quote, then it seems like his reasoning is to show what it'd be like if he was actually some sort of monster who tried to destroy people's lives or that uses his his fan base to mass harass people. So he wants to pick one person, for one week, and actually mobilize his fan base to destroy someone's life then at the end of the week pay them and apologize. That way to show these people what him being a totally unrestrained monster actually looks like.
That would make me go from a semi-ironic Destiny fan to a completely unironic Destiny fan. Please, man with the girl's name, if you see this, embrace your hate, give in to the dark side, and make the whole drama-debatosphere soil their undies.
This is a very recent change, as of this year actually. Destiny has seen a lot of growth this year, but it's probably more a product of his newer more empathetic approach to conversations, not the other way around Back when he was the unrivaled top dog in streaming politics he was a sadistic bloodhound His views have changed regardless of his reach
I liked how Steven said he enjoys speaking with Lav because she is at a transitional age in her life. I respect how he is holding her accountable and pushing her to grow as an individual. Lav should step away from streaming for a few months and figure out what her goal is in these communities
"Grow as an individual" all that goes out the window the day Steven decides to retire enitirely, and i mean that for everyone in the online debate space. He is the only guy that hold them accountable and without him they will retire to fast food jobs/sex industry etc. Nobody will watch these people on their own, enjoy it while it lasts.
I think she’s admitted that she loves this shit (drama) on a Chud Logic stream. The video I’m referencing is on Chud’s page about her backstabbing Destiny and lying about a stalker.
The thing with Lav is that undue concern leads to contempt, and that's clearly happened with her and the community. It's unfortunate Lav and Destiny don't recognize that. Her expecting more leniency than others while often being one of the most caustic personalities on stream is ridiculous. She needs to learn to keep that same energy. She can't walk around big and bad and then crumble into tears the moment Destiny treats her how she's acting.
It’s funny you say that. He’s literally just giving her the same energy she puts out. I’d have phrased it like It’s okay to be undecided. It’s kinda weird to be undecided and coming in at 100mph. I think with her it’s like Yknow when someone doesn’t know something so they just default to repeating what they think the smartest voice in the room says but they say it like 100 times more intense to compensate for not knowing? That’s her. And I think that shit is fine for theoretical concepts and ideas. Cause like an idea is not gonna get offended. When you start doing that to PEOPLE though that’s a bit Fucking weird.
@@AliceinEntropy In an unequal relationship, that being the undue concern, you will always expect the same amount of investment you give, and because it is an unequal relationship you feel slighted when you don't recieve it even when it's your own fault for not being aware of the dynamic.
I understand where this girl is coming from. I really don’t think she’s being malicious. If she’s kind of new to streaming and is just now starting to get exposed to wider ranges of criticism especially from communities and creators that may have praised her or been really nice in the past, I could see why she would feel betrayed and be really emotional and say hyperbolic statements. The problem would be if she continues to do this then I would say this is no longer a good enough excuse. If you are too sensitive for this then you just need to stop doing it. But I think destiny is being a little harsh. I think he should accept the apology and if she does something like this just cut her off. Like idk what he wanted from her she apologized and admitted where she messed and explained why. Just because you don’t like the answer or because you don’t think it’s the true answer, it’s true for her. I really don’t get a super malicious vibe from her at all.
But she literally repeats the same shit every stream. She starts off being super abrasive. People call her out. She claims her points are still valid. People continue to call her out. Then she claims she actually meant to say what the people are saying she should have said but just doesn't know how to word things. Then she finally claims she's going to make changes. Yet, on the next stream she literally walks it all back and repeats the same cycle. No one is saying she should be able to perfectly deal with all this negative attention. But her being a new streamer isnt an excuse for her emotionally manipulative behavior.
the thing that erps me the most is how many times she interrupts, get extremely defensive when interrupted, rolls her eyes, and literally word vomits thinking she shouldn't be held accountable for what comes out
I’ve seen many comments on this video of men even giving their experiences of relationships like these. Women aren’t taught to take accountability the same way men are.
It is literally impossible for Lav to act in good faith. Will do anything except claim accountability and is experienced in the manipulation game. Just, wow.
My boi said, “You’re using the manipulator voice when you get caught doing some dumb shit in a conversation or trying to AGAIN avoid responsibility” 🤯😂 Only speaking FACTS 😭
As someone just a few years older than Destiny, it's also very frustrating hearing people's vocabulary that sounds like it's straight out of the DSM-5. A whole generation so badly needs therapy that they all talk like strip mall therapists. And it wouldn't be so bad if it was actual science but a lot of it originates in the universities. The pseudo-scientific shit like micro-aggressions, trigger warnings, fat phobia, and "my truth". People today have an entire vocabulary of victim language and it's gross.
I agree. I think this fact should be evidence for the "progressivism is taking over universities and having a bad cultural influence on young people" vs. "but it's just the universities, they're a niche part of society, it won't affect culture" debate. This kind of language is so good at making people feel smarter and more introspective than they are. It's so attractive for young people.
If Lav was not attractive I would wager she would have next to no social capital or traction. I have yet to hear her say anything of sufficient value that would warrant her having airtime on Destiny’s streams
I think the erudite and britanny stream was good. There is more to lav then her idiot persona and she is just working through it. This thing of her saying the thing the person wants to hear and switching is true as well. There is plenty of bad things about her. But she has potential to head in the right direction imo.
There are quite a few female Destiny listeners who enjoy his content. Lav is unlikable not because she's a woman, but because shes just not trustworthy. We all.see it. It's that simple.
Why's this entire exchange come off like a breakup? These two were dating...? [EDIT] OMG Lav after playing the antagonist for SO LONG and giving people heat, the SECOND Destiny calls her out she has an extended breakdown over it and paints herself as a victim... If you can't handle the level of scrutiny you give others, maybe you shouldn't be so quick to voice your criticisms of people? Even now she can't even take accountability for her actions talking about "humanizing" shit talk? You were shit talking because it was cathartic for you and it felt good in the moment. Much like your positions on just about anything, you don't think past the moment and just go for what feels the best. Either she's that dumb and easy to convince or she's manipulative.
52:05 She has _already_ tried to put the moves on you, hasn't she? Come on Steven, tell me. Tell me the truth. She put the moves on you and you shot her down. I've seen this play out a thousand times before.
53:35 You can see Steven catch it in real time just by watching his eyes lmao. She did the thing! Literally in a conversation where they talked about how she does this, she uses her Uno Reverse Card to ditch the old take at her convenience. "Yeah I've changed in the last week". I've never met someone with such extremely fluid takes and emotions. Maybe she would understand things like non-binary better if someone explained it in a way she would deeply understand: They feel about their gender the way you feel about literally anything you've ever said or felt in your entire life; they just don't have any attachment to it. Teenage personality phases last longer than her stances on anything.

Wow, Brittany and Erudite were based af in their assessments. Everyone sees the situation except Lav

SOYBOY LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I had no idea who either of these people were until I stumbled into this video through debate search suggestions. So this is quite interesting as I have no allegiance to anyone here and no history at all . I’m in the football niche space I have no idea about twitch streaming or videos games . Here are my conclusions
1- she needs counseling - the internet is not going to be healthy for her. Just from this conversation I know she’s too sensitive for this . She wants the good parts of being online but cannot handle the downside. It doesn’t work like that . She’s not built for it. At least not right now. That’s 100% clear. She’s all over the board . It’s a mess
2- after this debate I went to some others before coming back to comment because now I’m interested and wanted to see what other interactions in this space are like . Here’s some observations
-most of these people who debate this guy think they are debating but they aren’t . They are just saying what they think then googling 2 studies to support it . That’s not debating they just want to hear themselves speak . There’s little to no intellectual strategy . Very disappointed . This guy needs more worthy opponents
2- I come from the football space of RUclips and twitter.
You know Destiny is serious when he pauses Factorio and starts taking notes whilst deeply analyzing every db coming from his headphones.
This still feels like he's wearing kids gloves. She is utterly removed from accountability in her own head. Putting yourself forward leads to push back and any time Lav receives even a nudge she starts talking about the way it makes her feel.

@@semimad100 This is extra clear from 50:30 on.

Yes
Ya and her being a brat
She's Jew not White
Add to that that she gets her entire self worth from the attention of men
I want to be charitable to her and say this comment thread is gross, but... yeah. Yeah this is all facts
... Don't know this woman, but I feel sorry for whom ever marries this train wreck.
Well she says real stuff there though... Destiny struggles interpersonally

Is this a documented case of someone introspecting and having a realization about themselves? Woah.

Facts bro it's so embarrassing
The question is whether she learned anything or if she only takes away that Destiny is a meanie who wouldn't let her whine and hear her out.
@@sargeteg5927 The latter as proven by her crying at the end.
Destiny seemed legitimately bothered by the fact that she didn't pet the cat without instruction.
We will go all out, just this once
Who is "we?"
Destiny has seen a lot of growth this year, but it's probably more a product of his newer more empathetic approach to conversations, not the other way around
Back when he was the unrivaled top dog in streaming politics he was a sadistic bloodhound
His views have changed regardless of his reach
That semi-conclusion was so satisfying, "crying didn't get me anything? WTF?" loved it.
It's nice to see that when given the ability to broadcast to the whole world about anything, streamer culture has organically created The Real World.
I liked how Steven said he enjoys speaking with Lav because she is at a transitional age in her life. I respect how he is holding her accountable and pushing her to grow as an individual. Lav should step away from streaming for a few months and figure out what her goal is in these communities

@@kyleyjs true, can’t teach to those who dont wanna learn
The thing with Lav is that undue concern leads to contempt, and that's clearly happened with her and the community. It's unfortunate Lav and Destiny don't recognize that. Her expecting more leniency than others while often being one of the most caustic personalities on stream is ridiculous. She needs to learn to keep that same energy. She can't walk around big and bad and then crumble into tears the moment Destiny treats her how she's acting.
It’s funny you say that. He’s literally just giving her the same energy she puts out.
I’d have phrased it like
It’s okay to be undecided.
It’s kinda weird to be undecided and coming in at 100mph.
I think with her it’s like
Yknow when someone doesn’t know something so they just default to repeating what they think the smartest voice in the room says but they say it like 100 times more intense to compensate for not knowing?
That’s her.
And I think that shit is fine for theoretical concepts and ideas.
Cause like an idea is not gonna get offended.
When you start doing that to PEOPLE though that’s a bit Fucking weird.
Can you explain "undue concern leads to contempt" because that seems like a very interesting concept to me.
@@AliceinEntropy In an unequal relationship, that being the undue concern, you will always expect the same amount of investment you give, and because it is an unequal relationship you feel slighted when you don't recieve it even when it's your own fault for not being aware of the dynamic.
What I come away from this conversation with, is Lav is doing everything she "wasn't trying to do"... consistently.
The pilled out zoomer harlot is no match for destiny as he bats her therapy buzzwords away the way a giant would a gnat.
the thing that erps me the most is how many times she interrupts, get extremely defensive when interrupted, rolls her eyes, and literally word vomits thinking she shouldn't be held accountable for what comes out
