My thoughts are Ana was at least forthcoming with what she was saying and doing because that truly *was* her perception of reality but Lav is selectively picking what narrative she wants us to think she has. That’s the difference between being unregulated versus being close to a narc or manipulative.

Also he probably said that in a conversation with destiny. Which probably means he just said it because he knew destiny would agree with that. He didn’t personally hold the belief he just says what people want to hear, and he’s good at that and mistakes it for knowing what people are trying to say.

I don’t know if it’s the same for anyone else, but the main reason I let up on my criticism for them is because Destiny would still appease and humor them as long as they weren’t mischaracterizing him.
Then there would be a cycle of the two continually one upping their previous acts before I would remember how negative of a view I originally had of them.
