    The button for rear lift gate is a learning curve but you get used to it. What I do like and owners with low garage doors will too. The lift gate can be set to lift at less than full open. I set mine to about two thirds of the way by power and manually raise the rest….prevents from garage door panel hinges scratching the lift gate paint. I do wish it had separate glass but oh well.
    The buttons in the center stack above the infotainment screen are a really big ….Zonk”…..switches work but very very poor background lighting so at night it becomes a matter of….how many switches are there and how to count the buttons for each function….hopefully your right.

    I bought my 2021 jeep grand cherokee l in July and just hit 5k miles. I've read about numerous system issues with this vehicle for some people. I am only having 2 issues so far. First issue is android auto keeps disconnecting and reconnecting while in use. It's annoying especially when playing music and it'll disconnect every 15 or 20 minutes but then immediately reconnects. Second issue is with engine stop/start feature. First few months I would have to press button each and every time to deactivate the feature and now my car engine never stops at all. Not sure how it completely disactivated itself entirely. The start stop was annoying but I did like having the option to decide if I wanted it on or off. My jeep decided for me. Lol..

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 года назад

      Wow, sounds like you need to have some warranty work on that start/stop. You can configure many things in the system setup. Maybe look there first. I can’t say that I have had this issue. I like the stop/start and I just leave it on all the time with the exception of when it rains because the windows fog if the engine stops.
      As for the android auto issues, I have had some glitches as well with car play but they seem to be related to apps and system communications. Things developers need to address in coding more so then a car problem. I hope you find some solutions as patches are released that solve your issues.

    How did you experience the leg space for the driver? I'm also a big guy, and when I sat in the car once, in the store, my right knee kept bamping the console which made the driver leg space feel a bit small, something I don't currently have with my 2019 GC. I'll be happy to hear your experience.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 года назад +1

      The closer to the dash you have the seat, the more you want to naturally bow your legs out and rub the center counsel. The further you put the seat back the straighter you have your legs and the more space you have. That being said, it’s relative to where you like to keep your seat position to be comfortable. If I have a car full of adults, I may move the seat up a bit and my knee may touch the counsel, but it doesn’t bother me any. My natural seating position it’s not an issue at all. I’ve done some long trips already and not been bothered. But to be honest, I like to have a cockpit like feel. Hope that’s helpful

      @@DuragVince- I document all these things and I can share it all. MPGs are such a subjective thing that it’s hard to baseline and assure everyone will have the same results. This Jeeps sweet spot is about 45 to 55 mph. Where I live most roads are 45 and I do a decent job of avoiding traffic jams. I track my gas on every vehicle, always have. I have had tanks in the 15mpg area, I have had tanks above 22 mpg. This is my average.
      I drive average. Occasional full throttles but mostly normal driving with my family in the car. If you’re doing that much worse, change your habits and maybe your gas source. Bad gas will also equal bad mpgs.

    How are the breaks, picked up one last week, however breaks fill stiff, need really step on them to fully stop the car. Is this common with new cars?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 года назад

      No, that is not normal. Your description is a bit confusing to debunk. A stiff pedal usually would be a good thing, but having to press the pedal really hard to stop the vehicle would indicate air in the break lines or possibly a bad break booster. Either way, take it back and have it looked at. Ours breaks normally. Better than my Jeep Gladiator. Best of luck with it and thanks for watching and commenting!

Took it to the local dealership and they couldn’t find anything. Got it back and it still doing the same thing. I didn't quite get, how does the automatic parking break work in this car and what makes it annoying?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 года назад

      The built in safety features , while making it safer, can add some frustration. If a door is ajar, seat belt not buckled and/or foot not on the break peddle, it will keep the break on. For example, let’s say you just want to move the car around a small bit in your driveway, a parking lot/space, a garage or whatever it if the door is ajar or seatbelt not buckled it buts the break on and won’t move until you over ride the system an manually turn it off. As silly as this sounds, it just seems to catch you at frustrating times because it can’t read your mind LOL! I hope this description is helpful.

    1 thing I will say as an owner of this Cherokee L limited 3.6l, is I'm returning mine, I've had mine for 6 months now and put 11,000 miles on it and I'm sick of all the problems I've been having, from the power steering going out, headlights flickering, front collision detection system failing in the rain and in the car wash, the side mirrors make an awfully loud howling noise at any speed 40+ mph, I've had the heater control replaced 2x, now a rotten egg smell from the exhaust, and worst of all the radio has been replaced 5x now and it still freeze's up on a regular basis, not allowing me to control anything from the 8.5" screen and Chrysler has no guaranteed fix for any of these issues, in the 6 months and 11,000 miles I've had mine it has spent 49 days total at the dealership.

      @@thinkitsstillallowedfornow1093 Sure there will be some options down the road. Still too new right now. There is no aftermarket anything yet. 😢

      I hear your reasoning but then you go drive each vehicle. They are so very different it’s hard to make a choice based on just that.

    How does it feel for an adult sitting in the second row?

      Very comfortable and spacious. You could easily use it as an executive shuttle.

      @@QuickShifts good to hear and thanks for the reply! I have a standard grand Cherokee now and with me driving in a comfortable position at 6’, it leaves little space for an adult or a car seat in the second row.

    Did you get an extended warranty on the Jeep or did you feel comfortable on not buying any additional warranty

      I felt comfortable not getting one. But I also know I will not keep the car long enough to expire the factory warranty.

    Great video and all...but...its only 5k miles.
    Ive seen this alot lately where people act like its shocking they havent had an issue with a vehicle at like 5k...10k...miles.
    You can buy the cheapest...crappiest...Mitsubishi for instance and you shouldnt expect any issues this early..lol.
    I would expect modern vehicles to get to 50...or 100k without any issues. That would be video worthy....but 5k??
    You see this with TFL alot. They act like the fact thier vehicles havent had an issue at like 11k max is amazing...lol. Its not.
    Why is this a thing??
    Not trying to hate on you or your video....just saying that this seems to have become a thing as of late and I just dont get it...lol
    Maybe Tesla has really lowered the bar...lol

      Love the comment. I agree with you and I actually work in the industry at my “real job” and can vouch that things are designed to last a minimum of 100k and more. But as a creator, many want to see the updates. So we provide them. Also, while the parts may not fail, it doesn’t mean they won’t develop noises and visual signs of aging. That being said, yes an 11k mile update is being edited now. But to spice it up, I am mixing in some snow driving input.
      In the end, I’m trying to give my viewers my experience with the car and answer the questions they ask. I enjoy doing it and I love driving so everyone benefits!
