Thanks for sharing. I put the same Weathertech floor mats throughout my 22 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. First time I have ever spent that much on floor mats. I have to say, I feel it was a great investment in keeping my jeeps floors in great shape. I too like the fit and look. Wanted to let you know I enjoy your updates and have watched them a couple of times each and find them very informative.

Thank you for watching and thank you for the kind words! These sure were expensive but they already are paying off. I spent a lot of time vacuuming and scrubbing the carpet previously and now I save that time with a quick vacuum and wipe. Much more efficient and they don’t hold any smells in!

When I got my Grand Cherokee, I considered these, but ultimately went with Lasfit, as they provide the same coverage as Weathertech, but are considerably less expensive.

I can’t argue with you. The LASFIT are great. Only caveat is where they are produced.

Weather Tech mats are great. With that said there are two major problems with W/T mats/liners. Floor mats are great but cargo area “Liners” have one design flaw. They fit well but two separate sections. The liners have to be removed when you switch back and forth when you either raise or fold second row. Not made by W/T but they’re is a work around….a accordion type flexible spacer that is Velcro’d to the carpeted side of the second row seats. Tucked under the “Behind third row you can switch back and forth with raising and lowering the second row. I keep the third row seats normally retracted…..the third row seats interfere with the mounting of the cargo area securely shade.
One major issue that I am old school and really don’t like. They advertise Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and although I don’t normally use, with the 23 model at least the cruise is Adaptive Only. The option of normal cruise control and ACC as needed is not there. 2023 is Adaptable only.
A couple of other minor design flaws.
    1. A/C, heating vents are way too small. The “10-1” infotainment screen really cut into the center stack real estate.
    2. The duplicate controls for the A/C, heat….the actual physical buttons are way too low. There is a toggle selector switch…well actually three. Two are temperature (Cold/HOT with duplicate settings for driver passenger and also a “SYNC) control to allow both front seat occupants to have the same temperature setting. The third toggle is the fan speed selector for manual operation.
The selector for the defrost, vent position, A/C is underneath the set of toggle selectors. Very non user friendly, especially at night. Yes I know infotainment screen is primary method to operate but still like having the option.
    3. Both drivers instrument cluster related.
    A. Cruise control speed select indicator is way too small. Location is fine but really needs larger/bolder font type with more contrast against the background.
    B. Fuel door. Door is physically located on left side near there row. Fuel quantity indicator is on the right side of the instrument cluster.
Overall a great vehicle but some fairly obvious lack of attention to detail. The minimal contrast against the background for easier viewing is getting to be the common theme among a lot of today’s generation of vehicles.
Lift gate; the button to lower the lift gate is inside the cargo area, not the bottom of the lift gate assembly.

Thanks for the kind words, watching and commenting. Unfortunately, we no longer have the GCL as it was wrecked by a distracted driver. But based on how well it did in the snow/mud I would have no concerns with dirt paths and trails. A rock climber it is not for obvious reasons.

Also, you should wrap your car...similar to putting a screen protector on your phone, you should put a film on your car to prevent further paint chipping. The wider box design unfortunately isn't as aerodynamic, and leaves itself open to the elements.

Sure, a wrap, clear bra or protective film would each possibly help. But they are all costly. Maybe in the future, who knows. 👍

Hello! I really appreciate all your updates on GC L. It was really informative and helpful to others. I’ve recently got 2022 GC L and noticed some weird behavior (not sure whether it is okay or not). I feel the little vibration (kind of phone vibration) underneath the driver’s seat when the vehicle is in halt and engaged in reverse or driving mode (let’s say waiting for traffic signal and keeping the brake pedal ON). Have you or anyone observed this ? Is this something I need to worry about?

Thank you for the kind words.
I can’t say I have experienced any vibrations like you have described. I am sorry I can’t provide any additional feedback. There is an HVAC vent under the driver and passenger seats. But I wouldn’t think that would be enough for you to feel it through your seat.

Hi QuickShifts. Good video showing us the installation of the WeatherTech floor mats for your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Based on what I saw in the video they fit good and snug in the vehicle which is great! I also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Mine is a 2023 model year in the Summit Reserve trim with the V8 engine. My vehicle has the captain chairs in the second row like yours, but a different setup. There's a arm rest console in the second row for mine. The arm rest console unit in the second row is basically the same like what's in the first row. Question to ask you is, at the time when you ordered the WeatherTech mats for your vehicle, did the drop down menu on the web site ask for which trim level Jeep Grand Cherokee L? If it does ask for which trim level, that would be nice to know. Another question I have for you is how long did it take for delivery? Was it few days, one week or two weeks? For a suggestion, now that you have the floors protected with the WeatherTech mats, it would be very wise to do the same thing with the leather seats as well. As you know, the leather seats will eventually wear out or rip depending on the scenario especially the driver's seat. I'm going to get something to protect the seats within a month or two because my vehicle came with the Palermo leather seats.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  6 месяцев назад +1

The weather tech site will ask you which seating layout you have. Select the one which matches your setup. The delivery took a week for me and I am on the east coast. That’s pretty good in my opinion. Hope you enjoy them! Thanks for watching and commenting!

My center console piano black is getting scratched up like crazy. Not sure what caused it. The keys maybe? But usually put those in the tray.

I guess don’t buy floor mats when you purchase the vehicle. Just place an order for Weather Tech.

    • @QuickShifts

It’s one of a few options. Weathertech being the American made option. But for half the price you can pick up LASFIT with better rear seat floor coverage, but not domestically produced. Decisions have to be made.

Technically, you don’t have to and could lay them on top, but I would not recommend it. You should remove the others and install these so they lock into place and do not slide around and potentially create an unsafe situation under foot.

oil changes should be every 10k on full synthetic, more often on a blend or organic oil. Tire rotations are as needed, not on a schedule. Just check for tread depth differences regularly. I've got 42k on mine with no issues so far. The tires are wearing quicker than I expected, though.

Fair question. The AC is loud on the GCL. But it is a large vehicle that takes some power to cool, especially on very hot days. I wouldn’t be worried about this at all. Jeep has always had loud AC but it is also always very good AC. Don’t worry until you don’t hear it. Haha!
