Happy Monday guys! Incase you were wondering, we will be driving and filming the 2022 Grand Cherokee 2-Row this week! Heading to Moab, UT on Thursday for the First Drive. We're anxious to get behind the wheel of the 4xe version the most but this is one of Jeep's most important models and the Grand Cherokee L promises to be the most off-road capable 3-row in the segment.
@@Qugie True. I think the old one had like 11 or 12 trim levels lol. The new one only has 6-7 so I guess that's a little less confusing... Although it's a safe bet that an SRT version will be back.
I am so glad to hear other people think there needs to be less chrome! It appears that many of the higher trim levels with convenience packages and the modern black appearance package are mutually exclusive so I assume Jeep thinks 30- and 40-something’s can’t afford the higher trim levels. Meanwhile, I’m trying to decide whether to continue feeling young and cool behind the wheel or embrace turning into my parents. Haha
We just bought an overland with air suspension. Jeep said you can’t custom order one with it but they’d be sending some to dealers as available. Only a $750 credit for no air suspension is a joke.
The drag coefficient is there, no matter how much horsepower you have, the Pentastar engine accelerates very quickly and lightly at speeds below 100 km/h.
This is the level of equipment that my wife wanted! However, in August we went to order the Overland with the Trail Rated package but Jeep would not accept any orders for the Trail Rated Package. We ended up with a Limited with a luxury package, but no low range or air suspension. Love it though. It is a deceptively huge vehicle, but for third row size and not truck based, this is hard to beat.
Im Seeing these on the road and i love the front but the back end is sorta still taking its time growing on me. Years ago I owned a 2004 WJ Overland with 250,000miles before it gave out. Miss that vehicle..Actually had very few issues with it.

I was impressed by the last generation grand Cherokee overland trim several years ago when I had it as a rental. I had never considered or driven a jeep vehicle but it felt luxurious. Jeep waited 10 years for a new generation but they did keep it pretty updated. On the other hand, the Lexus GX will be 15 years old before a redesign is released. 😑

If there was cooled seats in the second row, this overland version would be perfect! Everyone would go for the rugged looking one obviously... But the TrailHawk 4XE is enticing.. and the Grand Cherokee Summit reserve is basically a mini-me of the Grand Wagoneer with all the bells and whistles... front passenger screen and rear entertainment screens were added, which seems odd to me, becoz... why doesn't the more famliy focused L model have any of this? It may come when the hands free driving assitant comes as a new hardware feature in the next years Grand Cherokee L... i meant the screens... Uh, Sofyan, could you please ask Jeep when u go for the 2-row Grand Cherokee's test drive, about this? It would be real nice of you....
While the Pentastar will not win any street races, it is a very reliable engine and easy to maintain. Jeep is perhaps the only manufacturer that is expected to be tops in offroading, features, luxury, performance, and other credentials. Obviously, the elephant in the room is price, and while $63k is indeed spendy, GCs have never been inexpensive. Additionally, it is hard to compare this to other competitors due to the sound system, massaging seats, air suspension, available V8, rear 4WD w/ eLSD, night vision, and other exclusives. And...Kia's are still selling for $60K in my area...soooo...
I stay in Michigan and I literally see these and the Wagoneer everyday. Not once either, multiple times. I do feel a more powerful engine should’ve been created. Like a turbo 6 producing around 325 hp. Not base but mid level engine
Its crazy that this is longer, taller, and bigger than all of its competition, but only offers a little over 80 cu ft of cargo space? The 2021 Honda Pilot offers 109 cu ft, which is only 12 cu ft short of a new Expedition Max. 17 cu ft short of the new Suburban/Yukon XL.
Love it. Looks great to bad it's about 50% under powered. And if you believe the stated MPG, well I have a bridge for sale - special price for you my friend! With me driving, it would get 12 city, and 20 highway. Too bad cuz I do like the looks and I'm sure it rides excellent. They need a plug-in Hybrid version that gets 40 city and 60 highway.
Significantly larger than all the aforementioned crossovers, except the Traverse which is just as long as the JGCL. Traverse is wider by 1 inch. Jeep taller by 1 to 2 inches.
This Jeep is so comfortable. With the higher upgrade packages. You get heat and cold lumber massage seats. I have nerve damage in my tailbone and so I need a really comfortable seat.
