I wanted to thank you for the very good reviews and test drives you have done. They have been very informative and give a lot insight into a great array of vehicles.
For the Grand Cherokee L, we have had one for a year now. It has been a great addition for a family that enjoys travel, towing a boat, moving a lot (lot) of furniture (antiques for refinishing), and using the four wheel drive and air ride suspension for cross country treks. With the price of fuel, we went with the 6 cylinder. It has been a good engine and the power and torque has been fine, even towing a 19 foot bay boat. The gas mileage has been very good for a large sized SUV. The 21 inch wheels and ground clearance are excellent.
Thank you for the introduction and review of this model. Jeep has made a real impression on their next generation of vehicles.

Great review…I test drove this today…not sure if you got a dog, but the V-6 I tested was more than adequate…not sure where you got over 9 seconds 0-60…you’re getting old…that’s Prius territory. It’s definitely in the 7 second range for the V-6…big difference! I think I’m fine with the V-6. Don’t need crazy acceleration. Just want something that is quiet and roomy with a good sound system. This fills that need. I’ve had my fill of Teslas for the crazy power/torque. This will just be a hauler to saw through miles…Still thinking of the Wagoneer, but hearing lots of crazy quality issues that make Teslas seem issue free! For LKA assist systems, I wish all you reviewers would test them a little more…many people choose cars and really use them. I think it’s especially relevant to test how the systems turn off if you don’t have your hands on the wheel. Some just disengage, and others will pump breaks, slow down, make sounds, etc…important! Thanks as always. You and Alex are killing it!

I have a green/black two-tone paint 2018 Compass and have enjoyed it - albeit it gets a lot of undeserved hate I feel. It needs slightly more power, but it has a nice interior and it’s been reliable and actually fun in bad weather and on the backroads around me. My lease ends in a month or so. While I’m moving on from Jeep for now, I can see myself coming back and getting this new Grand Cherokee L or a Gladiator in a few years. Fact: That wrap-around chrome trim on this new Grand Cherokee started on the 2nd generation Compass. It’s a good look, especially with the two-tone roof.

I took one (a V6 Limited) for a test drive this weekend, and was completely blown away. I kept asking myself, "This is an AMERICAN vehicle?" The ride was solid and extremely comfortable. The V6 was a little noisy when overtaking (this is a HEAVY vehicle), but the V8 would easily take care of this. I've been seeking a replacement for my old VW Touareg diesel, and the V8 Summit could very well the replacement I've been looking for (I don't need the third row, but I'm concerned the 2 row GC won't have the ride quality). The ONLY thing I did not like about the GCL was the glossy piano black infotainment system, but I can overlook this (make it flat black and make the response time a little quicker and it's a win).

Love it. Would love to see more of these 3-row SUVs with useful 3rd row seats. It’s crazy how even the startup chime has become part of a vehicles character. One minor complaint, I’m kinda disappointed they didn’t do the switchback LED tail lights like the Cherokee and Ram 1500 has. I really found that to be a cool touch where they flash red when braking and then switch to amber when the turn signal is activated.

A lot of nice features, one issue I have they made the overall body shape. It’s just like all the other SUV’s on the road today, with the slopping roof line, can’t tell it’s a Jeep anymore until you see the grill.

Excellent review. I really appreciated your comparison on the V6 vs the V8. I had a 2014 JCK with the V6 and was satisfied. But if I pick up one of these, I will check that V8 box. I have been shopping some of the near $100k German rivals and this Jeep seems just as premium without the premium price.
