      And it sure looks you are making a fine product that will out do the German manufacturers for about 20,000$ less, really Stelantis is upping thier game, if they keep un this trajectory they will give VAG and BMW a run for their money. There is some serious value there.

    The Luxury/Tech Group pkg for $2,295 makes the Limited trim a compelling package adding things like cooled perforated seats, wireless charging, surround view camera, rear view mirror camera, etc. I like the Limited trim because you can get 4wd without air suspension.

    FINNNAALLLYY!! I really believe Jeep has at long last delivered the vehicle that buyers have been clamoring for. While I would've wished the turbo straight-6 would have been ready by now, I prefer for it to be done right vs rushed. Other than that, Jeep has once again delivered a vehicle that does many things for many people. A budget-minded Laredo all the way up to the Range Rover-rivaling Summit Reserve...all before the SRT and Trailhawk models. Well done.

      Good video review and a nice vehicle. The overall design schematics is great for the new generation fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I've test driven this vehicle twice so far in two different trim levels. The first test drive was in the Limited trim like what was shown in this video. The ride was nice and comfy. The second test drive was in the Overland trim which is one trim level above the Limited. The ride comfort was nicer in the Overland trim due to coming equipped with the adjustable air ride suspension system. After the test drive was done I sat in the third row of seats. It felt nice. The headroom was good. At 5'9" I think I had about 2.5 to 3 inches of headroom clearance left. When I adjusted the second row of seats to its furthest back position I had about 2 to 2.25 inches of space left which isn't bad. Only my feet touched up against the second row of seats. I moved up the second row of seats a little bit and I was comfortable sitting in the third row. In general, Jeep did a good job with the addition of the third row of seats. I'm glad they included cup holders, air vents and USB/USB-C ports in the third row because the competition either regular mid-size third seating SUVs or the luxury mid-size third row seating SUVs will have either one or two of those features back there, but you won't find all three of those features back there though.

  • @leroy5202

    • @jefferybaxter1225

      The "L" for the third row seating Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a perfect fit. I agree with you on that. It wasn't a last minute touch up or add on like what's found on the Lexus RX 350L. For the Jeep Grand Cherokee L the overall length of the vehicle got an increase and also the wheelbase. As for the Lexus RX 350L only the length of the vehicle got an increase. The wheelbase remained the same like the regular RX 350. I'm glad Jeep didn't rush in frantic mode to include third row seating. Third row seating was first rumored for the third generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it never came to fruition for the production model. That's the vehicle I currently have right now by the way with the V8 engine. Third row seating was also rumored for the outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, but once again it never came to fruition. Glad it's available now for this new generation fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Based on reviews I saw on other You Tube reviewer channels for the Lexus RX 350L, the third row seating area is pretty dam tight. Holy sh*t. I'll put a video link below from another You Tube reviewer to show you what I mean by the tightness back there for the Lexus RX 350L. As for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L I have intentions on getting it. However, I'm not going to get the first year of the new generation though. I'll get the second year of the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L so that it'll give me more time to put some money aside for it and also by that time couple more standard features will get added. When the time comes for me to get it I'll get it in the Overland trim nicely equipped with the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. Should be GRRREAT!!

      That's true. I'm glad Jeep included air vents in the frame of the B pillars. It's also good that they added vents in the C pillars for the third row seating passengers. In the third row seating area it was nice that Jeep included air vents, cup holders and USB/USB-C ports as standard across all the six trim levels. The competition either if it's regular SUVs or luxury branded SUVs will have either one of those features or two of those features in the third row seating area, but they'll not have all three back there though.

    Hopefully, Jeep will offer the 5.7L V8 in the lower trim levels. Seems like a vehicle of this size really needs the Hemi. It gets about the same mpg as the V6.

    • @jefferybaxter1225
      @jefferybaxter1225 3 года назад

      Historically, Jeep for the Grand Cherokee offered the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine starting with the Limited trim. However, with this newly released fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep made a change. Jeep decided to up the ante to offer the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine starting with the Overland trim. So, the Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trims will have the option on getting the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. Maybe this engine might be available on the Limited trim again probably during a mid cycle refresh design for the same generation of the vehicle. Let's see what happens when the time comes. Right outta the gate there will be six trim levels to choose from. Those trim levels will be the base tier trim to the high tier trim starting with the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. As for me I'll be getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. However, I'm not going to get the first year of the new generation though. I'll get the second year of the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L so that it'll give me more time to put some money aside for it and also by that time couple more standard features will get added. Hello Car Confections. Good review and drive video for this new generation 5th generation 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I actually test drove one last week also in the Limited trim like what's in this video. It was a nice smooth ride. Nice smooth ride and it wasn't from any of the higher tier trims. That was good. Just imagine how the higher tier trims feel. I went to the dealer with the initial intent to test drive one with the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine, but none arrived yet. The one with the V6 I test drove was pretty good. It was better than that especially in sport mode, but I want the V8. I like the rumbling sound the V8 engines make and quicker acceleration. The Fam Cam is a nice feature. The resolution from it was good. In general this feature will get used a lot. The third row seating area was good. Did not feel tight. With the second row seats in the furthest back position I still had maybe 2.25 or 2.5 inches of knee room left. Only my feet touched the second row of seats though, but I move up the second row seats just slightly and I was fine sitting in the third row. I'm 5'9" and the head room in the third row seating area was good as well. As for cargo space behind the third row that was good too. One of few good ones out there. In general third row seating was first rumored for the third generation Jeep Grand Cherokee which I have. After it got released it never came to fruition. Third row seating was also rumored for the outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee and once again third row seating never came to fruition for the production model. Generally speaking, automakers or companies regardless of what they specialize in respond to customer feedback. With that being said Jeep mentioned in their Conference presentation video earlier this year back in January that they decided to include third row seating this time for the 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee based on requests made by current Jeep Grand Cherokee owners. The requests made to include 3rd row seating wasn't a little bit. It was more than quite of few requests made including one by me. Like what Jeep said in their video and what You Tube car reviewers said a new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the usual two rows of seats will still be available. It'll be available later this year probably November or December. Despite achieving good overall sales year after year for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep had to do something to address passenger capacity. They had to do something this time because most of the mid-size SUV rivals have 3rd row seating so, that means Jeep had to include third row seating for their upcoming new generation mid-size SUV. Glad they did. Right outta the gate there will be six trim levels for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. From the base tier trim to the high tier trim there will be the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. The Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trims will have the adjustable air ride suspension. Power folding third & second row seats will be on those three trims as well along with the hands free foot activated lift gate. Those three top trims will also have more interior wood panels, the surround view camera, night vision camera, interior ambient lighting, front passenger seat memory and multi-function massaging driver front passenger seats. The Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trims will also have the option on getting the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. Historically, Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles had the option on getting the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine starting with the Limited trim. However, for this fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee Jeep decided to up the ante by having it available starting with the Overland trim. I currently have the third generation Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Limited trim with a V8 engine and I have intentions on getting this fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L.

      Interestingly, the Jeep's always plans for a 3rd row Grand Cherokee starting with the 2nd generation, but never pushed the go button.

      @@chiemekaa I'm glad the third row seating is available now. It was worth the wait. Years back the rival competitors rushed to include third row seating in their mid-size SUVs and the turn out at the time was that area was for kids. As for this Jeep Grand Cherokee L adults can sit in the third row seating area. Even if they're six feet tall they'll be fine in the 3rd row. Jeep took their time to include 3rd row seating in their mid-size SUV and based on what I noticed for myself they delivered.

      @@jefferybaxter1225 Same here. I shudder to think what a 3 row Grand Cherokee would've been like just based off what the last and quite unremarkable Commander and 2nd gen Durango looked like. I also wasn't fond of that gen Grand Cherokee.

      @@chiemekaa The second generation Jeep Grand Cherokee I didn't like it too much. It was just ok from my view. The back side window, D pillar and back bumper protruded out a little too much. Those three gripes in fact made it not too appealing when looking at it from the side and looking from the back. When the third generation Jeep Grand Cherokee got released Jeep cleaned things up from the exterior which was good. The overall design schematics was more uniformed with the third generation. When they released the Commander in 2006 I didn't like at all. It was way too boxy. It offered third row seating, but was way too tight and was for kids. Glad they didn't attempt the third row seating at the time for the Grand Cherokee. Also glad they didn't attempt the 3rd row seating for the outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm glad this newly released 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L has the third row seating. Jeep definitely delivered this time unlike what they did years back with the Commander. Either since two or three years ago the rival competitors for their mid-size 3rd row seating SUVs would start to improve a little bit on spacing back there which is good, but would have high levels of neglect on other things. High levels of neglect on air vents, cup holders, comfort feel of the seats back there, lighting and USB ports. As for the comfort feel with the seats in the third row by the competitors they would feel different from the first and second row seats. Feel different as in not enough padding used or a different downgraded material used. With the Jeep Grand Cherokee L all seats from the first row, second and third row are same in terms of the material along with the feel. Also, Air vents, cup holders, USB ports and lighting are back there. Jeep did a great job overall so that all occupants will feel good when riding in the vehicle. I already test drove the Jeep Grand Cherokee L with the V6 engine. Next, I'll test drive the one nicely equipped with the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. I think by next week the ones with the HEMI V8 engine will start to arrive. I want to test drive the one with the V8 because next year I plan on getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and it's the one with the V8 I want. Do you have plans on getting the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, or do you have plans on getting the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee with the usual two rows of seats? The new generation 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee with the usual two rows of seats will probably be here later in the year around November or December.

      @@jefferybaxter1225 No immediate plans to get one. I currently have a 3-row 2017 Santa Fe which fits into our garage. I highly doubt that the 204 inch long GCL would fit in there! But if I were in the market, it is certainly a compelling choice though I'm also admittedly drawn to the Palisade.

    It's nice interior. Exterior is meh. Front end looks exactly like the Ford Explorer with more chrome. Especially with the amber running light.
    I'd still pick the Kia Telluride/Hyundai Palisade over this. But they should have just introduced a 2nd jeep model with 3 rows. Rather than getting rid of the 2 row model. Not everyone is pushing out 5 kids lol
