Thanks for having the only Laredo review. Everyone is reviewing the Summits and super expensive models, so it's nice to see the one I can actually afford
Jeep nailed it with this design! Thank you for sharing this video been waiting to see this exact package on video. Can’t wait until they hit dealerships in FL
Yep Kevin. Jeep definitely nailed it with this design. The new design for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L has a much sleeker/seamless profile over the outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. All the bulbs in the LED headlight unit are standard across all the six trim levels. The same can be said for all the bulbs in the taillight unit. Jeep also nailed it for the interior as well. All trim levels have a more luxury look along with a luxury feel, but with a little more emphasis on the three top tier trims Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. I've test driven the Jeep Grand Cherokee L twice so far. Both test drives took place last month in July. One during the first week of July and the other during the second to last week of July. The first test drive was in the Limited trim. The ride quality was nice and comfy. The second test drive was in the Overland trim. The ride quality was nicer due to coming equipped with the adjustable air ride suspension system. After I test drove the Overland trim, I tried out three other features which wasn't found on the Limited trim. I tried out the 19 speaker McIntosh premium audio system. It sounded great. The next feature I tried out was the hands free foot activated lift gate. As long as the key fob is with you just walk up to the vehicle, move your foot in a kicking motion under the middle part of the bumper and that's it. The lift gate will open. The lift gate will also close the same way. Pretty neat and convenient feature. It'll get used a lot. This feature will be put to use for whoever has their hands full. The other feature I tried out was the power folding rear seats. A nice addition to the vehicle. Just press the button once and the seats will start to fold. No need to press and hold the buttons to start the process like what's found in the Audi Q7 and couple other mid-size third row seating SUVs. I'll get the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. However, I'll get the second year of the new generation so that it'll give me more time to put some money aside for it and also by that time couple more standard features will get added. When the time comes for me to get it I'll get it in the Overland trim nicely equipped with the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine.
I have seen the 65k plus summit reserve, and in my opinion this blacked out altitude looks much better. I will take this look and keep 20k in my pocket.
D.B. SPENCE WORLD OF Altitude package does look nice but it's still a Laredo so you're losing out on many of the unique features & tech from the top of the line Summit Reserve.
Thank you so much for your complete review of this car. One constructive suggestion from my side is to try to add some other adjectives that "really, really nice" and other connectors that "of course" ... keep it up!
One thing missing that I CANNOT understand why it is not standard on this vehicle is Homelink for your garage door opener!! I understand on lower model vehicles, but this is a Grand Cherokee, even my old 2012 Chrysler 200 has it! Oh-and foglights should be standard at least on the Altitude trim. Great review on the Altitude!
Love the look but come on Jeep, release the High Altitude at the same time so you can get the exterior look with some of the better options inside. I would love one of these to replace my Durango but not until a High Altitude version comes out...
Jeep needs to fix the Build and Price visuals on their website concerning the 4x4 systems on the Laredo trim package. It isn't explained very well anywhere on their site but when you change from 4x2 to 4x4 on the build and price on the LAREDO trim, it shows you having the toggle switch for the different 4x4 modes and this video just showed that ISN'T TRUE! Thank you for pointing that out.
Hey man quick question I’m interested in the altitude I can still switch the truck from sport to auto and snow correct just has to be done through your the dash
Hey Anthony, I don't think even from the dash you can switch auto to snow, etc.. There is a separate button for sport mode. I can check if maybe I missed it in the center dash for that option!
So, with the 8.4 inch center console, does it come with Navigation? If not, is there a way to add it? Would you need to upgrade to the 10 inch screen? Seems odd that Navigation does not appear to be seen on the 8.4 inch screen?
@@EverythingCarReviews Agreed, using Apple CarPlay. However, when doing that over the weekend, I was in an area where I didn’t get cel reception. No cel reception= no reception for the map to be used. When I had the Nav on my last Jeep, it worked regardless of cel reception. So yes, if you get a cel signal, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, etc. will work just fine. If you don’t get cel reception, then that will be an issue.
@@EverythingCarReviews My problem with the limited X is the suspension is lowered. They try and make it look like a Trackhawk. Dodge has a blackout package, I don't understand why Jeep doesn't. Thanks for the rely.
This is just the first run and model year. There will be a Limited all blacked out trim in the future like it was when they made the Limited X off the WK Grand Cherokee Limited.
@@andrewmelton6971 sucks they don’t have it ready now for someone who’s coming off a 2018 grand Cherokee lease. The trims available aren’t what I would like unfortunately.
@@kevinguzman4547 Thank God my GC lease is not up for another year. Hope they increase the trim options and packages. See if you can extend your lease for another year.
@@EverythingCarReviews yep sadly as some may want that more rugged look and less tech for an off-road journey. Less to worry about inside just better power. The 6 is a little weak for this size imo
@@EverythingCarReviews From what I hear, they didn’t offer that yet as they want to boost sales for their top levels first. They will add the hemi at a later time when they see how sales go. They talked about the 2,0l turbo used in the bottom trim but that was canceled. Laredo levels will wait For that hemi. It will show I’m sure.
This new generation fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L is not a Grand minivan. Wrong on that. The mid-size third row seating SUVs that's a minivan in disguise are the Honda Pilot, Lincoln Aviator, outgoing generation Nissan Pathfinder, outgoing generation Infiniti QX60 and Kia Sorento. Those five. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is no where close to being a minivan in disguise. It has third row seating which finally got included after a lot of customer requests got submitted, but it still maintains the off road capability roots its been known for. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L has better towing capacity than the SUVs I just mentioned coming in at a class leading 6,200 pounds for the V6 engine and 7,200 pounds for the V8 engine. Those five mid-size third row seating SUVs and other mid-size third row seating SUVs out there have a towing capacity range between 5,000 pounds to 6,000 pounds. As for the four minivans out there the towing capacity range is from 3,500 pounds to 3,600 pounds. Clearly the Jeep Grand Cherokee L isn't in that range and is significantly more. So, by offering different drive modes, adjustable air ride suspension system, greater towing capacity, 8.5 inches of ground clearance and still maintaining the off roading capabilities, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is not a minivan in disguise or a "Grand minivan". The Jeep Grand Cherokee L should be left out and remain out of the minivan category.
For me it looks bland and like an old Range Rover, don’t understand why they get rid of the details that distinguish a grand Cherokee from other SUVs. The Jeep Compass looks more like a grand Cherokee than a Gramd Cherokee.
Does kind of remind me of a Range Rover from the side view of the rear lights. I think this being the 6/7 passenger it's a little longer so possibly the 5 passenger ones will be nice.
Price is pretty competitive, I would assume this Altitude would compare to the Kia Night Sky Edition, which is up there in price. Just don't like the front and rear lights. Personal opinion.
The Kia should have come standard with a digital cluster and then it would definitely be competitive. Many models are offering this now as this is innovative and customizable.
I’m still trying to figure out who Jeep thinks is going buy these vehicles. I get it that they’re squarely targeting Land Rover but if the Grand Cherokee isn’t as refined as the Land Rover is in its ride quality, this model will be a complete bust because the other competitors provide a lot more for the money and are a better value overall.
They're targeting people who want a 3rd row SUV... The Grand Cherokee L models aren't targeting Land Rover. There's features on the Grand Cherokee L models that the competition does not even have. When it comes to Land Rover, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will blow it out the water once they arrive later this year.
I saw the Limited trim at a dealership a couple weeks ago and the interior looks like ass. Way too much plastic, bland, and unappealing. You have to get the Summit trim unless you want an interior that looks dated.
