I agree. I plan to get this trim most likely but if it had fog lights and a panoramic sunroof, at least as an option, that would make it perfect!

agree, we prefer the all blacked out that altitude offers, We bought the limited so we could get the panoramic sunroof, family cam. the thing i hated was that (at least right now) is that if you want to get the tow package (1k upgrade) you are forced to upgrade wheels, tires, and 10.1 display. so it really is like 4500

I’ve seen all of your videos on the Grand Cherokee L, Jason. Great job on all of them! I agree with your suggestions 100%. One more thing I would suggest is to offer the Alpine 506 Watt sound system on the Altitude. It was offered on the WK 2021 model as part of the Sun and Sound package. Not sure why it wouldn’t be offered on the WL model in that case? Might have to wait for 2022 to see if it’s offered. Oh well. Keep up the nice work once again!

I have the same 1 black on black Altitude Its a looker when its clean and shining. Drives smooth at 80mph no shakes.
Pros it drives like a luxury sedan smooth ride. Thank God thought it was going to drive like the Wrangler hard. Its pretty roomy.
It looks more sinister at night without the fog lights don't need them.
Cons the dashboard as nice as it looks at night its the problem. No matter how bright you want to the dashboard it looks pretty dim. There is no option to utilize the setting throught the radio. Even the roller are on the side to adjust it still not bright enough as on some vehicles where you have to turn them down casue there to bright at night. When you compare the night and day I wish the day light was the same option as the night.
I don't undersand why is this is listed as the 4x4 when its AWD all the time no option to go into 4wd on this trim level. It runs on the Hydra 1 awd
Radio 6 speakers is pretty weak decent but not going to blow your ears off it pretty modest.

    3) more colors
    4) the high beams don’t stay on if Auto is selected

I agree with everything you said. The front needs some led fog lamps and the rear should have visible dual exhaust to make it more aggressive. One thing I hate about my 2018 grand Cherokee altitude is the single rear exhaust. Looks out of place on the altitude model, which is supposed to be the sportier of the trim options.

    • @EverythingCarReviews

I agree with everything you said about the likes and dislikes for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L in the Altitude trim. Across all six of the trim levels Jeep did a great job with the overall design schematics. A new design was well overdue. The appearance on the exterior has a sleeker/seamless profile which is nice. The same can be said for the interior which has a more luxurious look and feel. As for the gripes about the Altitude trim, yes they should've included fog lights. Then, have it optional if it should be slightly tinted or not. Maybe for the blacked out rims other style rims could be blacked out as well in the next coming model year or the model year for the year after. In general all automakers include couple more standard features or couple new features at some point within the same generation of the vehicle. As for the back of the vehicle in the Altitude trim the exhaust tips should've been exposed. The exhaust tips are concealed for the Laredo, Altitude and Limited trims. I know the reason why Jeep did it like that which is to tell the difference between those trims and the higher trims Overland, Summit as well as the Summit Reserve. What Jeep could've done to distinguish the differences between trim levels on the exterior is to still have the dual exhaust tips below the bumper (regular positioning like the outgoing generation) for the three low trim levels and like what they have now is have them integrated through the bumper for the three high tier trims. The back of the vehicle looks naked on the three lower trims the way it is now. As for the interior Jeep should've made the select terrain feature standard on all six of the trim levels. If they had done that people would automatically know that no matter what trim level they get they will always have that select terrain feature. In regards to things that are standard I'm glad that for this newly released fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep made all the lights in the headlight unit LED, made all the lights in the tail light unit LED, made the license plate lights LED, all the interior lights are LED, having the driver instrument cluster screen fully digital now, having adaptive cruise control, having cup holders in the third row of seats, having air vents in the third row of seats and having USB/USB-C ports in the third row across all the trim levels is nice.

Love the breakdown Jeffery! I would be really curious to see if any changes are addressed for the 2022 trims. I thought I was the only one who noticed these things lol but I guess it's a common thing people would want to see.

@@EverythingCarReviews As for Jeep addressing changes it could happen in one of two ways or both at the same time. Let's say they already know what we know, they could put it into effect. If not that, they could put changes into effect based on a lot of customer feedback received. Before this new fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L got released they got a lot of customer feedback on what to be expected. I sent them one feedback message. The one I sent was sent both ways via online message through their web site and the same message in letter form via snail mail. I think it was either in late 2018 or sometime in the early months of 2019 I sent them my messages. The first thing I mentioned in my message feedback was to include third row seating. Based on what Jeep said at their Conference presentation event earlier this year in January, they said they decided to include third row seating due to customer feedback received. The amount of feedback they got to include third row seating wasn't a little bit. It was a good amount. I don't know how many feedbacks they got from other people to include third row seating, but one was from me. I also mentioned to include power folding rear seats, a surround view camera, a larger size infotainment screen, wireless charging pad, hands free foot activated lift gate, have the second row of seats with the ventilated functions and three stage heated/ventilated seats for all the seats. For the outgoing fourth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee they had the heated/ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger seat while for the second row back seats those just had the heated function. The function were in two stages and now it'sin three stages. As you can see all those features got implemented for this fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Within the coming weeks or sometime next month I'll send them feedback on just few minor tweaks to be done within this new generation.

Then we get to the awards this vehicle has won being the most sought after mid size suv in North America with a far more superior 10/100k power train and 5/60k basic warranties. Then the kicker is that the telluride BEFORE the market went crazy was being traded in a year later with 30 & 40K miles and seeing MSRP value and above on trade and still ranks as the #1 midsize SUV for resale value. @@zachdskeys5697 If we compare apples to apples and use the CDN market. The Grand Cherokee L comes with all those safety features standard as well. Each has its own unique features and the Grand Cherokee lineup is known to be the most awarded. As for warranties, it's pretty much the same. You can't really compare the Grand Cherokee L with the market going crazy because these literally just came out not too long ago. If you compare the normal 5 seater Grand Cherokee trims, you can say the same. I wouldn't consider it a better value because if someone has a higher budget, the Grand Cherokee L has the Telluride beat by a mile.
