I was just there. The guides spoke on the inquisition and that walled city is so historic.

Abu Gahib would be the 20th century equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition.

City of DEATH - That's a bit over dramatic. That title seems more appropriate for Berlin.
And to be specific about the War of the Brit Dude's Ear - It should be said that it was a DEVASTATING DEFEAT of the British Navy. Queen Elizabeth lost 9,500-11,500 fatalities, in great part to disease. And Cartagena only lost less than 1000 men. It was such a crushing defeat that Britain withdrew from the area and took a more diplomatic approach and was forced to recognize Cartagena as a free territory. You can't just brush over that.... Why? Because it was the very first Free Black Territory in the New World. And remained as such for nearly 500 years.

Thank you for the detailed history of that war. Certainly an important mark on the history of Cartagena. Cheers!!

Good advice. Don’t walk around with your cellphone in your hand and be mindful of handling cash. Cartagena is a great city though and if you’re not looking for trouble, you won’t find it. Cheers mate!!
