Getsemani ( accent on the final i) is not in the walled city, and was once an island.Did you notice you walked out of the walls thru the passageway when leaving the Plaza? Nice vid, though!
@@ChrisBCartagena no, you’re right but I didn’t want to go against the prevailing narrative on RUclips. It’s like is Cholon on an island? That’s a hard no, but the prevailing narrative is calling Baru an island. The history of the wall that I sussed out has Getsemaní in the walled city, maybe it comes from what was considered the “protected areas” in the 15-1700’s? I don’t know? I hope you continue to watch some other videos I put out, I love the feedback. Thanks!
@@seedamontrek guess theres diff. Opinions..this says " right " outside.. A bit more budget-friendly than the old walled city, Getsemani is a trendy and youthful area of Cartagena to stay in. Popular among backpackers or those wondering where to stay in Cartagena for an extended amount of time, Getsemani is right outside the walled city and has an abundance of restaurants and nightlife.Oct 11, 2023
yes, you're correct. I think what I'll do when I re-shoot the Getsemani Neighborhood drill down, I'll correct that mistake. I think I'll also go in and correct the first video with an over write. good catch and thanks !@@ChrisBCartagena
At 15: 45 you say " in the back there is Centro and San Diego" Centro is correct! But not San Diego .. which is way right, in your clip, on the east side
Cartagena is probably the most expensive city in the country. It’s tourist based. I hope someone else weighs in but if I lived there for 6 months I could live very comfortably in a small town that is modern like solento on 3k a month.
In my experience it wasn't that expensive. I had an air bnb that was a condo and for the week it was 575$ US. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 bath with access to a pool. Uber was like at most 5-7$. Dining was a little cheaper than America like a few bucks for this or that. Nothing more than 20$ for one person.
Dammit, I just wrote war and peace and accidentally deleted it. Agreed. Statistics are problematic. Getting apples to apples is just as hard. Couldn’t find an international metric. Agreed perception measurement is silly. I took a swipe at it for the sake of perspective. Crimes on tourists are chronically un or underreported. I appreciate you looking at this with a critical eye, I think what we say and write has to be held to a standard.
This is the best video on Cartagena!

Absolutely but, there south side is walled so I counted and it was adjacent to the anchoring BSF.

The Park is called Parque Centenario
Thank you!👍
Any idea on the history of the monkeys and sloths?
@@seedamontrek not sure how they were introduced

What type of money do you need over there to enjoy yourself without splurging

Colombian pesos
Good point. I would need about 3,000 US. I would agree there are plenty of people that live off of 3k US a month in the US.

Also got a good amount of snacks and goodies from the grocery store for less than 20$ US.

for the population diff.
How do they measure " Bob

@@seedamontrek I liked the graphic design of the comparison chart!
" and remember! The avg. American has one ball and one tit!"
