I really like you, man. I've seen exactly 2 of your videos. The first one was the video of your first shooting of this gun, where you experienced the keyholing issue and the second was this one. I appreciate the energy you carry yourself with in an online world of hot takes, clickbate and overwhelming arrogance being the path to success. Often we subconsciously emulate the behaviors we surrounded ourselves with and i am just really impressed and refreshed seeing the way you handled this, with regards to your online plaform. Thank you for being You. I subscribed

Thank you very much, I try to take a fair approach, but it is irritating.

Former machine operator here from Faxon in Ohio, just wanted to throw some info out there for comfort's sake and of course knowledge is power so having the extra take on this might help.....
They mention in your email something about starting a portal on their site later on for an upgrade program, that's probably their best bet for damage control by just having people who do have a bad barrel to register their S/N and personal info and have an FFL ship it in to get replaced. I have a hunch it will probably play out that way.
Secondly, I don't know who the "engineer" was that you talked to at DD, but from a machine shop perspective, engineers typically avoid phones and customer handling, also engineers are smart on paper - unless they are experienced machinists as well, which is VERY rare. So there is a chance you talked to a sales rep who lied about what they actually know as far as the dimensions, metallurgy, ect. that goes into the barrel.
It's bad enough people wanted to jump on the "blame the ammo" wagon, especially someone from the company itself.
If the website portal thing pans out, and they keep track of serial numbers production dates, they will be able to isolate when and how many batches may be affected..... if their QC Dept. does it like that. Only time will tell and I pray for the best, I don't exactly drink the koolaid of any one company but DD is known for solid rifle barrels and the CHF process they use to make them, it would be weird for them to not strive for the same standard on their pistol barrels. Why change what works, right?
I own one H9 now and was lucky to not have a bad barrel so there is that as well 😂. I hope they pamper the shit outta you for the way they handled your case in the beginning though. Please keep us posted! If it doesn't pan out, I'll jist say f*ck it and FFL you my H9 and try my luck on another 😂

@@RattlesnakeDefense Hey man I don't think I gave any solid helpful info out there; maybe more like a look through the keyhole and a reminder that some of these manufacturers operate more similarly than some might think and that's how they might do these things. You're welcome though!

We do get fanboy-ish/ tribal for sure. No one should be in denial about this though as anything made by man can and will fail, and mistakes happen. What they do when these things is what makes the difference.

Sounds like they got my emails I sent them about the issue and why it was happening just like some of the original Hudson H9 and that was the bore was likely out of spec. I suspect they may have sourced the barrels from the same place or were using the same defective equipment to make the barrel.
If you remember I left you a comment early on about this all.
I am happy they are finally standing up and making this right. I hope they have all the bugs worked out by the time I get one because the platform is a great design and I think Daniel defense saw that. I have many of their rifles and they are awesome and a great company and I know that if they do the right thing by this pistol it to will be worthy of the DD name.
When you get yours back be sure to check the rifling for concentricity and measure the bore at the lands and grooves and make sure they are to spec. If not it will just key hole again.
I am looking forward to your next update. I hope they will step up and explain what they already likely know by now was wrong.
Ps. If not my next new rifle may have to be a geisele super duty. And my next pistol a lago alien.

They have had my pistol since the middle of March. In all that time the only communication I have received was the email acknowledging they received the pistol. Ironically in that same email they said they would update me regularly by email. The only reason I know about any of this is the Daniel Defense subreddit. I'm not remotely impressed by their CS.

I just sent in a Smith & Wesson for keyholing and they sent back with new barrel & the rifling grooves have tool chatter still so I feel your pain.

Worst New gun roll-out I can remember. Horrible product. It makes a Glock feel aerodynamic 😅
