Working for Donut Media has been the most incredible experience of our lives. We never thought we’d get to build something that meant so much to us. Something that means so much to so many other people. We gave it our all. We tried our best. We're proud of what we've done in the past 9 years.
It’s time to build something new. Something that we love. A thing to be proud of. A thing of our own.
We’re hopeful that if we do the work, this new thing will mean something to millions of people, just like the last thing did. But this time, no one can take it away from us. This is Speeed. Independently owned and operated since 2024.

Been following Donut pretty much from the get-go. For the past months/years, I lost interest mostly due to the direction it went for especially after "up to speed" was let go.
Seeing you go solo, as well as bigtime, sparked my excitement. Still love donut for the part it has had in my life, but stoked that my guys are now doing their own thing. LETS F*ING GO!
Dude, when I got my first truck, my 93’ S-10, I had a desire to learn more about cars. I spent days just watching science garage and up to speed and that truly inspired my love for cars. That love is ultimately what inspired me to join the military to work on jets. Truly, thank you.

The irony of them not owning Donut is that they ARE Donut and they are what made it what it was. Speeed and Bigtime are getting all my support.
I was genuinely shocked to hear James didn't have at least some equity in Donut. Obviously, he was the face of the channel and you'd think they'd want to lock him in.
It shows how much the talent makes the channel. Bigtime are already getting bigger view counts than the latest Donut vids

Congrats on the new channel, James. You ain't the only one starting over. Became a double leg amputee 3 days before becoming a grandfather. May 9th. Wife and I added a new venture in June. Designing, and manufacture of adaptive products for the auto and power sports industries, as well as the outdoor industry.
And still doing custom paint, and modding all kinds of rides.

The Nissan Skyline video was the first video from Donut I saw, and I was hooked immediately. The Skyline is my favorite car to this day 15 years later. @@brandonwalker3056 there probably won't be anything left to leave before much longer, a lot of times once this starts happening between new owners and employees the channel/business only lasts a couple more years as the new owners piss off the employees more and more and begin having to cycle through them since the new owners always think they know best despite the employees being the ones who actually do

OG Science Garage guy here. That show came out around the same exact time I started school for Automotive Technology. It really helped my understanding. Soon after I was hooked on Up to Speed. Thank you so much James for the content throughout the years. You've changed car culture for me.
I got into donut because of science garage. I had just gotten my first car. And as the most expensive thing I owned at that time I figured I should learn everything there is to know about it. Certainly better than that Scotty guy with his Celica.
please bring this back. This is the show that had my wife watching donut with me. As we were watching this together she was like "hey I loved that show! It's the only reason I'd watch with you and I learned a lot about cars from that." Kinda made us reminisce with you

I used to work at Donut Media back when it was on Purdue Avenue. The memories I made there are unforgettable. It was my first time working in production and video editing as an intern, which really got my name out there. James, Tony, Jesse, Kirkham, Matt, Eddy, Nolan (and so many more) were so chill and cool to work with. This was back in 2017 when "Up to Speed" had just launched. Not many places offer an internship where you see Ryan Tuerck and Chris Forsberg parking their drift cars in the lobby, or have an F1 car parked on the street to see if it would get a ticket.
Speaking of tickets, I remember getting one on my first day there, and my car got towed too. Lesson learned: don't park your car on the street in Los Angeles!

When James said he had a wonderful 9 years in Donut I immediately thought "Donut goes way back in 2005? Nice". Then I grew 20 more gray hair and my back started aching heavily when he said 2015. 2015 feels like 2 years ago for me.
