    Hi guys!
    In this video I'll be showing you how I tone my hair at home. I haven't gotten my hair colored for about 6 months now so my color was starting to look brassy. I would suggest leaving the toner in your hair for a shorter amount of time than it says on the box if it's your first time! After you do it once, you will get a better idea as to how your hair lifts and reacts. I'm not a professional but I really hope this helps you out! It's perfect for times when you realize your hair needs toning last minute! Don't forget to like the video and subscribe! Thanks for watching! xo

    I just did this to my 3-month-old balayaged brunette hair, which was looking even more orange than yours at the beginning. This formulation worked like a charm! I also followed it with an Ion deep conditioner for colored hair that was at the counter at Sally's. All in I only spent $15 on it! Thanks so much!

    Thank you for the video. When I went to buy the Wella T14 and the developer, the stylist told me that your hair will turn blue and this is not for you. I had black roots , brassy in the middle and my hair tips were blond. I did the same thing as the video except that I applied the roots and the middle at the same time. I washed it after 15 min ( counting from the start) my black roots lightened up at least by 2 numbers, the brassiness vanished completely and the tips got darker. Overall my hair is now pretty even and looks soo much better than before. I think I might try with 10% next time and leave it for a bit longer. I can feel that my hair got just a bit dry from the toning.

    I just bought all the supplies I need just one question though. How long did you have the toner on your darker hair before adding the rest of it to the highlighted parts? Also how long did you have in the highlighted parts?

  • @ErinMarieHogan
    @ErinMarieHogan 8 лет назад

    I'm hoping you answer questions: I got cast as a blonde (dark blonde/light brown) and my hair was dyed dark ash brown. I wanted to dye it back to medium anyway so I took the part because I was going to need to lift some color anyway. Here's what I did:
    I stripped the color, then bleached my hair with a 1:2 ratio of blue bleach and 30 volume developer.
    Then I toned my hair with a 1:2 ratio of 20 volume developer to Wella T-18
    Then dyed by hair "dark ash blonde."
    It is still very golden, and this character we believe was a natural dark blonde/light brown.
    What should I do next to make the color cooler? It is the correct lightness, but too golden to look natural.

    Pretty! I have slowly been working my way from strawberry blonde with bleached highlights for years! Sooo I’ve been spending about 2-3 months slowly manipulating my hair to brown. Ok I’m there but, the Ash is gorgeous and that’s my next move. Hopefully, it will be a SUCCESS! I did a lot of research and because of years of bleaching took my time. I couldn’t achieve the most favorite color but, some things just aren’t meant to be. I think the Ash will keep me from missing my blond highlights. Off to Sally’s! I will have to post my hair journey pics. Oh....how many times I should have left it alone but, I couldn’t stop! HaHa I needed change. Gotta have change sometimes. Xo thanks for your great explanations and attention to detail in your words. I’m learning from all you great girls I’ve done one video at like 5am! haha That maybe was not a great idea but, it was for #FitTea so oh well. See ya around for more advice!

    thank you! glad i found this video and it seems way less scary. i have ombre'd hair, done at a salon in may. and its already getting brassy. purple shampoo doesn't really tone it as much as i'd like, and i can't afford to go to the salon to get it re-toned. Shitty job, can only afford to get my hair colored at tax return time - which is why i go with ombre' because its low maintenance no roots to deal with retouching. so glad i can refresh it myself now.

    • @ParmidaRobateau
      @ParmidaRobateau  4 года назад

      No problem at all! 💕 since I did use a 20 volume developer, it lifts the roots a bit so make sure you don’t leave it on your roots for long. If it’s super brassy at the bottom, apply the mixture to that area first and wait a couple of minutes before putting it all over. Everyone’s hair lifts differently tho so I suggest doing a test patch before too 🥰Hope that helps! 💕

      @ParmidaRobateau  8 лет назад

      +Celia Aguilar I'm not exactly sure why that happened other than the developer probably lifted your roots too much. Since this is a toner and developer combination there's no color being deposited onto the hair. I'm not a professional so I don't really know how to fix that problem unfortunately, maybe someone will see your comment and help though! 💗

    I have a question.. I want to achieve this look but I got a brown bayalage done originally a few months ago (that turns orange) if I use the same toner would I get the same result as you?

    My natural hair color is about the same as you and I have some balayage, but it's not quite as blonde as yours. But it definitely still gets brassy. I toned my hair using the same toner and developer a few months ago and left it on for about ten minutes and my highlights got so dark you could barely see them. However, I didn't realize your hair had to be damp, so I applied it completely dry. Maybe that made a huge difference? I'm wanting to try toning again bc with the sun they've gotten very brassy again but was wondering your thoughts on how I can prevent them from getting so dark? Thanks!!

    • @ParmidaRobateau
      @ParmidaRobateau  7 лет назад

      +Madison Bennett maybe leave it on for less? Try 3-5 minutes and check your hair to see if it's toned enough and go from there. Also try doing this on damp hair😊 my highlights tend to look darker too after toning but that washes out after a few showers and they start look brighter. Hope that helps! 💗

    • @madisonbennett136
      @madisonbennett136 7 лет назад

      I tried that yesterday and it made a huge difference, thanks!! I pretty much rinsed it out right after putting it on and it came out a tad bit ashier but not quite as ashy as I would like, so I think I'll leave it on a tad longer next time. But I def think that putting it on my damp hair made it not come out as dark. Thanks again!

      Yes, the toner doesn't do anything to dark hair :) But since I used 20 volume developer instead of 10, it does lift my natural hair a bit. That's why I brought it up all the way to the roots at the end! xo

      You should refer to the color wheel and buy the opposite end of the color you wish to eliminate. Orange would be a blue toner. Typically there's also yellow and I would do a mix of blue and violet colors. Redken shades eq has a 09v I love and their "NB" colors have a blue base. This is Demi permanent color and won't lift only deposit.

  • @le7087

    So I just toned my hair with the wella toner t18. Love how my blonde highlights look, BUT, it definitely lifted my roots and I had it on for about 15 minutes (including the process of applying it all over my hair). My hair is naturally more brown/dirty blonde. Now it has a slight brassy tint. My question is, will the lifted color, wash out??? If that makes any sense?

    • @ParmidaRobateau
      @ParmidaRobateau  7 лет назад +1

      I had that happen to me once when I let the mixture sit on my roots for too long. The 20 volume developer can definitely lift your hair so I only let it sit on my roots for a minute or two. Once you wash it out a few times it should tone down a little bit and not be as noticeable. Hope that helps!

    • @le7087
