I took mirtazapine (remeron) it made my depression worse. Wellbutrin gave me more energy and felt better. I'm on a low dose (100mg) hoping to go up to 300mg or even 450mg.
Well, in my case (moderate-severe depression) Wellbutrin was extremely effective. While I not only suffered severely from the painful symptoms of depression, but was also unable to work and was at risk of having my cognitive abilities permanently impaired, my condition improved greatly just a few days after starting Wellbutrin (150mg XR). Specifically, I had no negative changes in thinking and perceptions, or negative changes in my personality. I felt a certain euphoric effect (thought that's what cocaine must feel like) but otherwise not like being on drugs. I also noticed that I seem to have suffered from mild social anxiety all my life, which I only became aware of when the drug made it go away. Also, I only had certain side effects (itchy skin, and the feeling of a slightly altered self-perception) for the first week, during the changeover process, which then went away. Now, after several months of taking the drug, I have slowly stopped taking it. At the moment I am still a bit more tired than before, which is logical because the drug had a stimulating effect, but I no longer experience any symptoms of depression. I can only report positive things about the drug, it has served its purpose without side effects. The biggest drawback seems to me that there is no 75mg XR dosage, which on the one hand would facilitate tapering (the tablets should not be split), and after the decline of acute depression would be a perfectly adequate dose for maintenance therapy to prevent relapse over a period of time.
Thanks for sharing your videos and knowledge! I was on Wellbutrin XL . I felt after trial and errors with numerous other antidepressants that it worked the best and the side effects were are all positive for me. Didn’t have anything negative as far as nausea, headaches etc. HOWEVER it did cause me to have a grand mal seizure after taking for more than 6 months. I’ve been off it it for more than 3 years now. Asked my dr if I could try it again and was told a hard no because of the seizure. Sadden wish this could be harder advertised as a side effect. I know most wont have this happen but never say never I never thought anything like that could happen to me but it did . :(
I was taking Adderall for 10 years for my ADD, and overall it worked great....however I just recently came off to worsening side effects---horrible social anxiety, sweating, and irritability. Adderall was feeling way too intense and too much like speed or meth (I've never done meth; it just felt too much like a drug and harsh on my body) and it felt like my body was vibrating internally a lot, etc. Other side effects included feeling artificially awake all the time and a lot of irritability. It was getting pretty rough on my body.... My doc suggested trying Wellbutrin. I also have depression and anxiety in addition to focus issues. I am worried Wellbutrin will feel all too similar and cause all similar side effects? Will Wellbutrin feel speedy like Adderall, or does it really feel completely different?
I'm right there with you, I'm going to try it Tomorrow...I got it to stop smoking, I have bad anxiety and I'm scared it's going to make my heart race more than it does ...I've been through alot of anxiety attacks and I'm hoping I can get through this medication too.....crossing fingers
Not as bad as Adderall. If your doctor suggests, try it. Make sure you start low and slowly increase. Don't get discouraged if you experience side effects. They go away after your body adjust to the medication. Good luck
I share your experiences. I have tried Bupropion in the past, never got past the big initial side effects. Adderall is really hard sustain, throughout a day, a week, and gets worse the more you try to keep it going. I’m trying modafinil now, we’ll see.

Spacystacy32 i mean, anxiety has most to do diet for sure, so is depression because of the lack of serotonin going from the gut to brain, so everyone should always try to fix their diet and get a vitamin/mineral test and maybe hormone test, for men, if he have low testosterone we will get all kinds of anxiety depression symtoms, so fix diet, and most of all fix the Gut, and if nothing works, then go on medications , sure they are bad but so are being depressed 24/7

The symptoms are edge cases for a small percentage of people. Less than 5% of people experience those symptoms. They say this so if you do have those symptoms that you know it could be the drug and you talk to your doctor or work your way off of it. Vast majority of people don't have those symptoms. They also don't mention the dose that people experienced those symptoms. They also don't say if those people were taking other drugs. With medicine and humans, it's a bit complicated and it's unlikely to find something with no side effects. Some people are allergic to sunlight. But for the vast majority of people sunlight is very important for physical and mental health. Some people are allergic to peanuts and lactose. Most people aren't and can consume those foods no problem.
I desparately want to get off of Wellbutrin ER 300mg. I want to try mirtazapine. Can I go off of the Wellbutrin for 4 days and then start the mirtazapine 15mg?
I took Buproprion 150mg for about a month, and thought I noticed a slight improvement. However it seemed to make me much more impatient - yet also more honest and direct, something some would characterize as an increase of aggression, yet the reasons and validity for the aggression could relate to a new-found motivation and sense of self for people who have long not had it, standing up for themselves for the first time - take that as you will. Still, I decided to discontinue it. Restarted again after I started to feel serious anhedonia. This time, it was as if my symptoms just got worse and worse. Read that others had a similar experience and that upping the dose seemed to help, tried it and it actually seemed to make me feel more depressed. I'm considering whether or not that was because of my outlook at the time or the med. Considering trying it again... Like the doc says, it's hit or miss and symptoms are flighty.
@Mack The Ripper I'm very observant for my physiological and mindset states. My symptoms are primarily physiological, not tied to my mindset. Anhedonia despite very clean diet and a curated mindset. It's one last piece to this puzzle that is my body. Have been testing my blood and thyroid. Seeing a psychiatrist soon. Aware that stopping and starting medications is ill-advised. That's especially true for SSRI's, but Wellbutrin does not function like SSRI's which require tapering from, and is easier to stop quickly with less adverse effects.
@Mack The Ripper I've read that people can get anxiety from Wellbutrin. It's a reuptake inhibitor for dopamine and norepinephrine after-all, which means you might have more of those things available to your body to use, which are two chemicals likely to stimulate anxiety. I think I've seen anecdotes of some people taking anti-anxiety medications in-tandem with Wellbutrin when it causes them anxiety. Don't go by me though, you should tell your doctor your symptoms and ask if they think it would be good to stop or try an anti-anxiety med. Just be mindful and read about the common symptoms people experience if you use those meds and be certain of your decision.
Stuff is nothing but legalized speed. I took it for two weeks. Was not sleeping - dusting and vacuuming at 3:00 AM waiting for the sun to come up. My stomach started hurt. My stomach stopped hurting the day that I quit taking it.
LOL. I just started it today and I hope it doesn't affect me like that because that's my problem already. Trouble sleeping and up at all hours of the night.

Nice knowledge and good presentation of it. I love that you have the Dictionary of the History of Ideas in your library. It's a great collection! Well done!
This stuff made it difficult to swallow and my hair started falling out within 10 days. I think I was allergic to it. Went back to normal after discontinuing it within a month. Was disappointed because I hear works well for a lot of people. I’m on 40 mg of Prozac now with no sideffects. It’s helped a lot for about 5 years now. I guess it’s trial and error
Thank you for your honesty
Wellbuitrion is by far the best way to quit smoking. I wouldn't suggest it for anything else.
i cant focus long enough to watch all of this..
Take your drugs.
Wellbutrin is like magic for me (18 months experince )
BEFORE
1) i used to smoke one packet of cigarrate in everyday..
2) i drank two bottle of beers in everyday..
3) i am in manic depression
4) my weight is 95kg..
18 months later..
AFTER
1) I never to smoke cigarrate now..
2) i never to drink alcohol now
3) i am feeling so good myself now
4) My weight is 82kg.. (-13kg)
There is only one negattive side effect. .
My dream is high definition.. it is like real..
This is my experince
Great results.

I took mirtazapine (remeron) it made my depression worse. Wellbutrin gave me more energy and felt better. I'm on a low dose (100mg) hoping to go up to 300mg or even 450mg.
It didn’t help much for me either although I love how it helped me sleep and gain much needed weight
Did it boost your libido?
sorry to hear that

3:17 It was first approved in December 1985 then pulled because of the seizure risks. It was “reapproved” in 1989.

Thank you for all these videos. I’ve been on most SSRIs for depression, they only seem to cause quick overstimulation within a day or so. Just started Trintellix, nausea isn’t bad but I’m overstimulated again. Probably going to try Wellbutrin next, avoiding serotonin meds lol.
Hi, I have been suffering from depression/PTSD/anxiety/bipolar 2 since like 1995ish. Tried almost everything. single and in combo including antipsychotics brrr. i think its because of the longer acting metabolites that it gives me insomnia. i would need a lower xr dose but there isnt any.
My last psychiatrist loved to prescribe this drug no matter what mental disorder[s] you may have and he wouldn't listen to what i had to say about how I felt!! However, to say the least I got rid of that doctor!
Ryan Ferguson hi Ryan what did you end taking I’m sick of all of them if you get hospitalized everyone gets celexa no help at all 😧🤗🙏❤️to u

Norepinephrine and dopamine are in wellbutrin you can read up on it if you are compelled too.
wellbutrin + remeron combo = ?
I have to disagree I was able to quit nicotine using bupropion and the patch together and the bupropion made it 10 times easier to the point I went from step one patch straight to step three patch for a week and then off and quit for over 3 years now

I just wonder if adding a high potency multi-vitamin will add to symptoms of insomnia/restlessness/anxiety.

This was great and i like that you speak with honestly, im from Sweden and i have been taking this drug for a week now.
The + is:
-more focus
-i have more motivation and wake up easier
The minus
- faster hearth rate and its hard to sleep.
-sexual numbness, i lost alot of sensativity down stairs so to speak
-easily upset
My doctor said it wouldent effect my sexlife but it has, i know its to early to say but i had not been taking any drugs for a year when i started this and i felt the bad effect on sensetivity after just a day.
Before when i was 23 many years ago i had a hormone imbalance and i became depressed and my doctor gave me 150 mg veneflaxine, which gave me about 10 bad sympthoms and even worsened my hormone balance and i had to leave work for half a year when i stopped it, it is a horroble drug and ruined my 20s.
After i tested setraline and it made me sluggish and asexual.
Update, pressure over left chest for over a week now, wake up to early, more anxiety than ever before and still depressed, dont recommend it,

Wow. He is really negative on webutrin. I’m kind of mixed on this drug. I have anxiety so I really question why the doctor put me on this drug.

Sounds like a total freaking mess. They all do! What the heck are we supposed to do?? 😭
Therapy and excercise in addition to meds
I thought the same
Medication does work for some people.
Smoke to cope and drink to forget. 🤷♀️
I desparately want to get off of Wellbutrin ER 300mg. I want to try mirtazapine. Can I go off of the Wellbutrin for 4 days and then start the mirtazapine 15mg?
What is the most appropriate antidepressant to take with this?
From what I've read I would guess any of well known SSRIs.
I'm thinking of how many case studies it took to accumulate that many factoids about how things can go for just one drug.
What were those 3 metabolites and benefits from them?
One of em is hydroxybuprion

Super intelligent Doctor!
Thank You Dr. 😃
Seratonin low and dopamine receptors yes .

Hi Dr
I am wondering why it is frequently prescribed for patients with Borderline personality disorder in America?
In Australia, it is only for smoking cessation.
People with BPD often have depression or bipolar disorder as well.

STRONG I’ve taken it for the first time and I did notice the increase of anxiety due to the stimulant effect it gives,I think you should try to consider in trying a ssri because it is in a different class of drugs and might work with you better
The dosage I took was 75 mg in tablet form
