Good post. I think the internet have destroyed Humanity. Its true, or at least keeping lower-middle class exited with clips and funny stuff on the internet. I grew up when normal people stopped outside the grocery store to talk 20 mins asking normal questions. Now people are afraid, manipulated from internet, goverments, psychos playing on other people getting afraid. People sitting home analyzing things. Today I saw a guy in our truck, he was watching 400 clips in 20min on the way to the customer. Hes neck was like the letter L and His brain had transformed into a maximum of 3 seconds memory thinking the rest is deleted from internet.

A while back my sons school was involved in a schools organised peace prom . It involves schools around the island of Ireland joining together to sing songs in the RDS in Dublin City . This song was the main song sang by all the schools north and south of the border together on stage . I was there , it was very moving to hear them all singing this song word for word. The lyrics speak a lot for north / south complications in Ireland even though the song wasn’t written specifically about the troubles there . Great selection of song by all teachers involved for the purpose of the peace prom . 👌.

John was never interested in overseas fame as a solo artist. He loved his family, his two boys were young at the time and he loved Australia. He’s stated that a lot of times in the past. He’ll always be our national treasure.
This song is a genuine masterpiece. The 80s was and always will be the dominant music genre. The words have never been so meaningful! Choreography of the whole thing is just incredible and my personal opinion, when the bagpipes come in that’s when the goosebumps kick in. My goal as a future dad will be to never let the 80s die.

'The 80s was and always will be the dominant music genre' - nope. It may have been for you, but for a person of say, 70 years old it was the 60's/70's, for a person of 22 it was maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago.
It seems to be whenever you were young and alive and unencumbered by career or mortgages or children etc and everything was an adventure or party - that's when you thought YOUR music was the best, most meaningful, pressed all of your emotional buttons.
Anyone who was 16-25 in the 50's, 60's, 70's etc believed their decade was the best for music, and it was as true for them as it is for you.

Well, guess it's genetics (mum was 95 when she passed. And she smoked until into her 70s, and was still enjoying wine to the end). Don't think "old", don't carry with you negativity from your earlier life experiences, learn to not let the past dictate your emotions now, that's destructive and you're worth far more than that, so believe in yourself. Never allow negative people/feelings into your life, and if they do creep in then watch It's a Long Way to the Top... Store in your mind not only the sheer energy from that song but also the love between John and his fans, and remember it. No one has a perfect life but we can choose to make rhe best of it.
And - I cry when I see and hear perfection - ice skater years ago, Donald Jackson? Canadian? , a friend who is a concert pianist - more than perfection, he plays with heart and soul and you can hear that emotion in his playing . And John Farnham? . The total package. 'nuff said?

Here listening after Baba Jolie! I really have missed this song. Grew up listening to this in the 80s a time between high school and university. It was an anthem for motivation, one I never quite reached. 30 years have passed and it is time to stand with an attitude of gratitude and live the successful life I have always wanted to live, meant to live.
