- Schwarzsee above Zermatt is a bautiful swiss alps lake in front of the amazing Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland. This romantic little alpine lake is at 2583m and can be reached with the Matterhorn Express cable car. Schwarzsee is a starting point for climbing the Matterhorn and hiking to the Hörnlihütte, which can be reached in about two hours. At the lake is the chapel "Maria zum Schnee" where many a mountaineer says a prayer for the ascent of the Matterhorn.

Beautiful footage of Schwarzsee!! I stayed there for 2 nights in July, during my 10 days hut to hut hike. I hiked up to Hornli Hut from Schwarzsee. Incredible sceneries!!

@@swisssights es war sehr Neblig und ich hatte dort 2 Wanderer angeroffen, die auch den See suchten. Sie kamen aus DE und schauten in einer App nach. Wir sahen einen grossen Tümpel und nahmen an, dass das der See sei. Doch jetzt erkannte ich auf dem Video von dir, dass ich einen Tümpel für de See hielt🤣 lg Pascal
