First, I want to thank you guys for your videos. They were super helpful in planning our trip. Now, having just returned from Switzerland with Zermatt as our last stop, I have a few things to say. One, the hiking is top-notch, that's for sure, and the views on a sunny day are incredible, however...Zermatt is billed as a car free town. Unfortunately, there are so many mountain bikers and E-taxis zipping around, its actually dangerous to be a pedestrian on their narrow streets. My wife who is half-deaf was almost killed several times because they don't make any attempt to let you know they're coming up on you. There's also a ton of construction going on, with cranes marring the village's skyline. Lastly, Zermatt is mostly hotels. While we were there in shoulder season and the crowds weren't so bad, I can't imagine this village at peak capacity; it would be a nightmare. On the plus side, Golden India restaurant near the Gornergrat Express station is amazing! The more you know...
Alexis and Louis , we have just got back from Switzerland and purchased your excellent guide as a template for our 11 day holiday. As we did not know what we wanted to do we found it superb value for money and would recommend it 100%. We had a fantastic time in so thank you so much.
We love your videos, and we can barely wait to arrive, thank you both so so much for bringing us along. The baby in the pool was ( is) priceless, and the sunrise on the Matterhorn is something we will enjoy soon. Jim
Perfect! I will be there in three weeks and the Matterhorn is by far the thing in Switzerland I am most looking forward to. I wont have much time as I am doing it as a day trip from Bern. Brilliant video!
Hust came back a week a go from Switzerland and spend 3 nights in Zermat. Absolutely amazing experience ❤ hopfully will go back again. Thanks for sharing 🌹
Wow another wonderful video! Glad to see the little one came along too😊. We will be visiting Zermatt in the low season and hope we won’t miss out on too much. Thanks again for sharing.
Wow - great video - Thank you! We were there in August 2000, amazing how Rifflealp has evolved from a hotel to a resort. I got great sunrise photos from the room we had in the hotel 🌄 Definitely time to get back there again and enjoy the pools 🌊with a view
Thank you for providing some tips on the video. It would be much more helpful if you can share the maps also how the places are located so we can get an idea where everything is. The videos are great in themselves, so good work there. What camera are you using as the resolution is very good?
Was in Zermatt about the same time as this filming. Gornergrat and the 360 view worth costs and hike, the high to the lake at about 14:34 is not difficult however also not a smooth, sculpted trail either, careful of your footing.
Love watching your videos, especially as we are visiting Switzerland in 2024. If I can make a suggestion, please use a wireless mic, to save all the wind noise and other nuisance sounds. it takes the shine off the production.
Would love to do all these things but it’s well outside my budget. Heading here for the first time late April, but it will just be to hopefully see the Matterhorn and enjoy the area as much as the weather will allow.
Thank you for sharing your trips!! Thanks to you guys I got really good info and tips when I visited Interlaken, could not visit Zermatt but this video will come in handy for my next visit!! BTW becoming a mom has suit you really good your smile says it all, I’m happy for both of you that you can manage to travel with a baby! 👏👏👍👍❤️❤️
Would you recommend the Peak Pass for staying in Zermatt for 2-3 days, or just buying the tickets when there for Gornergrat/Matterhorn Glacier Paradise individually in case of bad weather?
You mentioned the gornergrat & glacier paradise can be done easily because of connecting stations. In that case, could sunnegga/walli playground, lake riffelsee/rotenboden, and glacier paradise all be done with connecting stations?
Hi, your videos are really helpful. I just want to ask how's the weather like in the last week of May to early June? Because I'm traveling to Switzerland by those times. What are the things/ clothes I need to pack? Your reply means a lot. Thank you so much.
Hi there. We are leaving in a week and I was just going over a few things from your video. So you took the Glacier Paradise gondola, but got off before the top. Did they charge you full price since you were not going up to Glacier Paradise? If we say just wanted to go to Schwartzee like you did? Thanks for all your videos.
Hi ,great video as usual. We are going in three weeks time. We are going on the Gornegrat,am i right in saying we need TWO trains to get to Glacier Paradise??
Is end of May a good time to visit Zermatt ? Or will it be too cold and snowed out? Also is the train ride from Interlaken to Zermatt considered scenic ?
Hello good day. I'm planning to travel this October to Zermatt coming from geneva airport, my plan is to stay 3 days in zermatt. How much roughly would it cost to do alll the activities you've shown in this vlog. Thanks very much
Hi! I would say it depends on your whole itinerary, if you're already buying a half fare card or a Swiss travel pass, maybe not necessary. But in general it is a good value for just Zermatt!
I heard we can use The peak2peak if we're gonna go Glacier Paradise and Gornergrat at same day (usually available in June-August), how do we combine half fare card with that?
I was just in Zermatt about two weeks ago! It was absolutely beautiful and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to the Klein Matterhorn was stunning. The only negative was the lady in Zermatt who sneezed on my wife and me and gave us COVID lol.
Perhaps she didn't give you covid, you just want someone to blame. It's like people who had a coffee several hours or more before bed and then blame the coffee for not being able to sleep well, it is frivolous finger pointing.
@@paulciaro158 ok Paul 🤣😭 … anyways, point was Zermatt and the Matterhorn are amazing and it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever been to. I recommend it to whomever is considering going to Switzerland.
Hello @TheTravelingSwiss I will be in lausane for a weekend , and can I plan for zermatt and Gornergrat on same day..? I mean early morning start from laussane and reach back on same day night
I think that will be near impossible as the train from Lausanne to zermatt is 3hr in each direction and the train from zermatt to the gornergrat is about 1 hour each way, so you will spend a minimum of 8 hours on trains that day before doing anything else
Where did you leave your luggage? We are visiting in the summer for a 7-day trip, but we will have three large bags as we are traveling to another country from there. I'm not sure how to handle these pieces of luggage across different train rides?
We like your videos!❤ We are going to Zermatt in middle of October and just found that a couple of trails we liked to hike will be closed by the time. We plan to take Matterhorn Glacier paradise in the morning. Any hiking suggestions after that?
Wonderful video (as usual). We've been to Zermatt twice, but this convinced us to go for a third trip, but without the snow. What would be a good post peak season time?
I have watched almost all your videos. Very informative. Good job guys. I will be doing a day trip to Zermatt from Interlaken in October. Hope to have enough time to hike to Riffelberg from Gornergrat and do another hike to be emersed in autumn color. Would you be able to suggest a short hike for this. Thanks again guys.
Would booking the Glacier Paradise in person or in advance be cheaper? and which site? I am heading over in October, crossed fingers that the weather will be good 🤞 Thank you!!
@@TheTravelingSwissgoing in July for 2 nights. Are you saying we should buy the tickets for Mannehorm and Gornergrat before we travel? Or can we buy it when we get there? We won’t know the weather that’s why I’m asking. The train tickets we don’t have to buy in advance correct?
It starts at 400 per night for basic rooms depending on the month, I'm not sure how you are seeing 5K per night lol. I just checked middle of July (busy season) and rates were 500-600 for the basic rooms.

October is wonderful - fewer crowds and gorgeous foliage!
what is the restaurant near the Sunnega that you recommended?
Chez Vrony
