My hotel. Very small room, with shared bathrooms, but was clean and has a great location.

We really appreciated your tips and during our time in Zermatt my family (me, wife and 3 kids 11, 10 and 6 months) did the hike from the village up to Hornlihutt and the five lakes. Unfortunately rain forecast stopped us from doing the bridge hike. I took a photo on the rock on the video. Thanks for the excellent tips!

Last time in Zermatt we did part of the five lakes hike since it was late in the day, it was amazing and the best views of the Matterhorn! Nice video with great hiking tips, thanks

Hey Dog Dad Dave, my family and I are heading in a couple of weeks and plan to do the same Matterhorn hike. @6:45 you mentioned falling rocks at the very top… Did you mean at the top of the Matterhorn or the top/end of the hike you did? Thanks and your video has been an excellent resource in helping us plan our trip.

Falling rocks were at the VERY top, not at the end of the hike. I would not be concerned about falling rocks doing the hike I did.

Stellisee Lake… it’s the very first lake of the 5. Just walk up- the trail goes down so you need to go opposite of the trail to get to that rock platform. Enjoy!

@@dogdaddave Awesome. How did you do that with no people. I am hearing that after the 1st lake, the others arn't as good. SHould I do the entire hike?

@@deanbrown9085 First lake is by far the best, I think it is still worth doing all 5, you might cross some sheep. The hikes are short and as you hike you will see less people. I went as early as I could so there were less people overall. You don’t see anyone when I am on the rock mostly because I’m not on the main trail. There were people all around the lake though.

@@dogdaddave Awesome. Thanks. We will do it. We want to do it starting at Riffelsee Lake at Sunrise. Do you know which trams to take to get there by sunrise. I can't find the info on the sunrise open one. Thanks :)

@@deanbrown9085 Riffelsee is a different lake, that is not one of the 5 Lakes referenced in the video.
