  • The 8 bells form a pleasant ring, although they do suffer from a certain amount of tower movement which can make them tricky. They were re-hung, tuned and augmented to 8 in 1949 by Taylors of Loughborough.
The trebles are Taylors 1949, bells 3-7 were cast by Thomas Bilbie II in 1780 and the Tenor is by Thomas Bayley and dated 1769 and is the only listed bell in the tower. Tenor 12-2-27 in F#.
The church it's self sits on the main high street in Honiton which is quite a bustling Market Town, with plenty of butchers, fish mongers, stall keepers and pubs to keep you going.
This is a small excerpt from a competition test piece taken on Saturday 23rd April. Ringers in this from treble to tenor are - Suzanne Driscoll (caller), Kate Avery, Sam Massey, Natasha Trout (1st competition on 8 bells), Steve Came, David Crocker, Alban Forster and Ryan Trout.
