Another interesting thing about the twirl of vines is they turn in opposite directions depending upon which hemisphere they’re growing in. Northern hemisphere is typically clockwise while the southern is counterclockwise.

This is known as "twining", and it occurs because the plant uses a support structure to help it climb and reach sunlight. The twining is a natural mechanism where the vine wraps around the support in a spiral manner to gain stability and grow upward efficiently. This behavior ensures that the vine can maximize its exposure to light, which is essential for photosynthesis and overall growth.
I planted an avocado when I was a kid, watered it and stared at it for a while. Til I got bored and forgot about it. Later my dad was getting rid of that pot and found it, he didn't know. But it had started growing roots so he replanted it in a diffrent pot. Around 18 years later it's still alive and going strong
@@powertothesheeple5422 The problem with growing avocado trees from a seed, is the same one as growing apple trees from a seed. You don't know what you will actually get. The chances of getting a tree that produces good fruit is pretty small.
Seeing these plants grow in a time lapse, I can't help feel how alive these things are, they just move in a different frame of time than we do. The time lapse merely accelerates their movements to match the timing of ours.
It’s crazy. Plants are conscious and they even can communicate with each other but most people don’t even realise. Pretty wild when you look into it (pun was definitely intended)
@@herbalterrorist420Plants are not conscious. They do not communicate with each other in the intentional sense that your language suggests, although there is cross-plant hormone signalling.

A chunk of his lifespan? Lmao he grew multiple plants at the same time and had the cameras set to automatically take pictures. All he had to do was water the plants every day.
So happy to see the comments representing exactly how I felt watching this video. I've never been much of a gardener, but I've always been fascinated by time-lapse photography. I just started my first Bonsai Willow and the idea of tending to a living being and watching it grow and produce fruits (No children yet) is immensely satisfying to me.
I can’t imagine how many cameras, time-lapse timers, tripods and lights the author has. After all, photographing each plant takes a lot of time, and all these devices must be nearby and rigidly fixed all this time. I'm not even talking about time and monitoring the process. In general, this is only available to fans. My admirations! 👍

Idk why I got emotional watching this! Probably because we don’t get to see this progression as you’ve shown. It’s so beautiful! Life is beautiful! Imperfectly beautiful. Didn’t think I would be as captivated as I was. Thank you so much for sharing!
Are you saying that life is beautiful? I will say it depends. The way plants grow at an accelerated pace can be beautiful. But is it beautiful when a pack of hyenas eats a wildebeest alive? Life can be beautiful but also very brutal. Unfortunately, certain situations in nature are not suitable for showing in nature programs.
Same. It really puts into perspective how incredible it is that life exists on this planet, one in trillions upon trillions, and how utterly heartbreaking it is that we're destroying it.
Whats the craziest thing to me is the fact that people often dont recognize plants as living things. We often just recognize that they exist alongside us on the same planet. However, watching this video you really get a sense of life from them. Especially the plants like the kiwi plant that when time is accelarated looks like a growing snake. The way some of them reach for supports as they grow is amazing to see and really mind boggling at the same time.
I agree and am sharing it with my youngest grandson. I only wish I could be there to watch it with him. I will ask him mom, my daughter, for his reaction!
And why should they watch that? Like what does it teach you? Which subject should teach that? Why should the teacher projecting a youtube video get paid? Where's the educational value in watching plants grow? There're plenty of youtube videos where I'd agree but this isn't one of them
@@DAViDD767don't straw man vegans. Plants are very much living but they are not sentient. They have no central nervous system or brain, whereas animals definitely do. Even if plants were sentient somehow and experienced horrific suffering when you pick their fruit, you still kill far more plants by eating animals as they need to be fed 10-30x more food than the calories their flesh provides.

I absolutely love time lapses. Slower life is just as alive. They're a glimpse into the grand scale that our brief, less than a century alive can not notice. Life is slow, life is constant.
Outstanding work! As always. For anyone who doesn't do timelapses this is a TON of work and you don't know what you have for weeks and months. You just have to trust the process and keep your faith.
Love to see how you can tell a plant is really alive once you timelapse them. Searching for light and those who need support search for support. Once it's placed they know to grab onto it. They know to grow the roots downwards into the ground. They know to grow towards the light. It's beautiful to see

This video is art. It not only shows the amazing and beautiful growth path for these various plants, but also how far we've come as a species. Imagine showing this video to someone born 200, 100, or even 50 years ago
Agreed that it's spectacular but one reaction you'd get from anyone living 50+ years ago (back when people actually knew nature) is how unrealistic this looks. Normally plants grow in nature and are beset by weather, predators and more. They don't grow pristinely without ever really moving so you can speed up their growth in a time lapse; if you tried to capture that outside it would look like a blur, and the plant would be covered in mud, dust, insects, etc etc. No complaint -- this is awesome -- but it's a strange (if beautiful) and curated version of nature.
@@gmaasry Great point - the plants in this video grow in predator-less and, like you said, pristine conditions. Thus making it look almost fake. I wonder if people in the future will think this is ai?
Y? Why would showing it to someone born 50 100 or 200 years ago be any different than you seeing it now? In fact, people born 50 years a Go Plus I already know all this. Most Have or have had gardens and have seen all this for their own eyes

But it had started growing roots so he replanted it in a diffrent pot. Around 18 years later it's still alive and going strong

18 years? Should have been producing avacados for the past 6 years then.

@@powertothesheeple5422 The problem with growing avocado trees from a seed, is the same one as growing apple trees from a seed. You don't know what you will actually get. The chances of getting a tree that produces good fruit is pretty small.
This is breath taking 😮
Seeing these plants grow in a time lapse, I can't help feel how alive these things are, they just move in a different frame of time than we do. The time lapse merely accelerates their movements to match the timing of ours.

It’s crazy. Plants are conscious and they even can communicate with each other but most people don’t even realise. Pretty wild when you look into it (pun was definitely intended)

You are not just an ace in filming, you are also an amazing gardener. Plants love you.
Came here to say exactly that!
i think he killed the sunflower by turning it away from the light though

Unfortunately, certain situations in nature are not suitable for showing in nature programs.
also the background music plays a great role in shaping our response.
Well said 👍 I had the same reaction 😊
That and the music for sure plays a big role based on my experiences with getting emotional reactions.
Every child, in every school should see this video. Brilliant!

I have done a few timelapses of flowers, many years ago around 2005. It is surprisingly hard to keep exposure and a fixed position. This video shows an understanding how to deal with that, VERY well done. I am impressed.
What surprised me the most when I did my timelapses was the MOVEMENT of the flower. While it thrived it made a circulative motion, when it stopped it took a few days and it wiltered...

Just wait till vegans see this. They'll be eating rocks 😂😂😂
Nature is truly amazing. A tiny seed contains the whole blueprint for each stage of complex growth. How that all works still baffles me.
How absolutely beautiful mother nature is 🍀
I'm very grateful to witness this
Потрясающая работа!!! Благодарю Вас за полученное наслаждение от просмотра!!!
This video is art. It not only shows the amazing and beautiful growth path for these various plants, but also how far we've come as a species. Imagine showing this video to someone born 200, 100, or even 50 years ago
It's the slo mo version of Timelapse of the Future... 😀ruclips.net/video/uD4izuDMUQA/видео.html

Thanks, this video has been so inspirational to me you wouldn't believe. It was like plants where talking to me. I felt really deep connection with our natural world. It is a shame that we have disconnected so much from it as if we have nothing to do with it. Nowadays and historically humans have felt entitled to own everything and be the rulers of everything as if we are gods but we are just part of an utmost beautiful world you could ever imagine and we are no better than any of its parts. Videos like yours help us remember that. Thanks for your time.
My goodness. Thank you for sharing that gorgeous labor of love. Stunning. Plants are just on a slower timeline but their movement is so beautiful. I gained so much appreciation for them, their reaching ‘fingers’ and their furry feelers.
This is unironically the most beautiful video I've ever seen
turn off the music and watch it again
Why would you do that?@@windowsvista19
This is a beautiful, fascinating and incredibly well produced time lapse of all these diverse plant species growing. 30 mins well spent. Very useful if anyone wants to germinate and grow the various species as well. Thanks for all your patience in putting this together.
This is so beautiful. Thank you for making this video. This shows that plants are so animated. It is just their timelines are different.
Now I'm gonna grow all those plants in my home, thanks for this wonderful it made me cry.
You are not the only one crying. This video is so beautiful.
This should be in nommination for an Oscar. One of the most beautyful video I ever saw.
It’s fake lol
Do you also watch videos of a cat on a skateboard and say it’s the most “wholesome” thing you’ve ever seen?
@@GermanRugCleanersI take care of plants as a hobby, I can assure you that based off of what I've seen plants do as they grow - this video is 100% real.
@@TayWoode What does wholesome mean?
prove it @@GermanRugCleaners
I am still amaze that creating life is so easy.
From the seed, in 20 days, to a beautiful green sprout.
I don't think humans fully understand how lucky we are to have plants.............
Bro saying that like he from a different species💀🙏
❤️
Oh ye btw i agree tbh, without plants we would just, die…
Idk why I just sat down and watched plants grow for 30 minutes but here I am and we’ll I loved it!!
Thank you!!! It is so inspiring to see this. I know it has given me the urge to try this. I think if all 7 million people who have watched this planted even one tree, or plant that bares food, it is a HUGE success. I pray all of us try to do one of these items. To save our beautiful planet. ❤❤❤
The prophet mohamad peace be upon him recommended planting almost 1500 years back. This is a very good action.
Jaw-dropping. Mind-boggling. A true labor of love. Really able to see plants as living things. These plants look like they are alive. One of the most beautiful things I have seen on RUclips. Emotional.
This makes me think how beautiful and important plants and life is❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for making this available to us. It was a truly beautiful experience and rather moving.
Thank you so much for your care and that you made it possible to see what’s usually hidden -that nature is alive, beautifully fragil and worth to protect. I was so moved that I cried. Love from Tim (Germany)
Absolutely Beautiful, this truly shows the life that exists in plants. From the little saplings exploring with there vines to eventually grappling onto support poles all to eventually create a fruit of there own. This video really is beautiful, I really needed to see this kind of video today so Thank you 😸
Some people can’t keep from looking a gift horse in the mouth. This was beautiful.
I was crying when that kiwi was climbing that trellis starting at 3:10. So beautiful.
Me too, it looks hopefuls
I felt the same. Like little fingers. ❤
It's so hopeful and mesmerizing. I watched the whole thing thinking I could multi-task but I was so enthralled by the beauty and process
Does anyone want to give me a timestamp so I don't have to watch through a 30 minute video to find the kiwi?
@@lukeb3930 Sure! I will edit my original comment! Blessings. 😊
So much hope here. Everything grows when given good conditions and adequate supplies. This is human growth shown out of context. You’re not behind-you’re in process. Honor your process, sweet pea.
I have the feeling it's not that easy
It ain't that deep.
“Sweet pea” Lee Everett, man.
Beautifully said
That was very emotional. How beautiful the miracle of life is.
I sat there for half an hour, completely captivated by the process. It inspired me to start growing flowers.
What an amazing amount of work, love and patience. Absolutely mesmerising and relaxing to watch. It’s like the plants are dancing with the with the music. Thank you!
You know videos like this give me a little hope for this world, thank you for sharing.
Absolutely mesmerizing❤
