I don’t like Tony Blair but don’t believe he or anyone else should have to forgo the respective salary of the service and office they hold because they have respectfully earnt money elsewhere from other roles, intelligent investments or because it is not their only income source; what an ill suggestion.
If you want money, go and earn it like everyone else: don’t put others down for being better at it than you.

MrB1923, It's called "Spin". It was invented by NewLab in 1997. They had a whole department dedicated to its production, headed by that Alastair bloke. Their first major success was the destruction of Railtrack, where so many ordinary people lost their potential pension pots (and were still investing right up to the last minute before Bozo ((remember him?)) pulled the plug on the company). Bozo was the fall guy specially set up to take the rap before disappearing into the sunset. The Twin Towers atrocity very conveniently provided a "good day to bury bad news". Blair likes to think that he was the hero behind the IRA laying down their arms (in fact they did no such thing - they "put them out of use") and by way of the Good Friday agreement, bringing "peace" to Northern Ireland. The truth is that the IRA was being shown up for what it was: a most evil, murderous band of terrorists, and British intelligence and persistence was gradually beating them.
President Bush dealt the final blow by declaring "War on Terror" after 9/11. This included ALL terror, and meant that funding of the IRA from USA citizens was forbidden. Following on from this, Blair promised Bush "I am with you all the way", resulting in our participation in the invasion of Iraq. Spin was never more evident than during these times. For instance, we shall never know the true circumstances of poor Dr Kelly's death (re: weapons of mass destruction).
Say no more, there's nothing we can do.
Should Blair ever deign to read this, I can just infuriatingly imagine his face lighting up with that maniacal, devil-like grin of his!

Tony Blair along with successive leaders is the main reason why the referendum result turned out the way it did. There are some towns and cities across the UK that are so disenfranchised with their life and future that they cling to any kind of hope to help change their lives. Therfore voted Brexit. Of course this does not apply to all. Now we have the remainers in the political elite doing the same thing with frustrating the leaving of EU. The whole process is a mess. Of course Tony will accept no responsibility for the current mess we are in. There in lies the biggest problem. It's the mindset of the politicians that is a major issue for our futures.

Here Blair shows how much of a 'cult' follower he was and still is. That he is so personally devoted to the EU is to be commended from the point of view that he has stuck to his faith and the reasons for that faith but that he is also to be condemned for still supporting an institution that he claimed in 2005 would reform (he specifically mentioned the CAP) and yet 13 years later it has failed to do so. He argued that nation states should compromise in the interest of the EU as a whole and he did so by giving up part of the UK's rebate in return for what? Reform? Still waiting for that. It is no wonder that these leaders are so blind that they fail to understand you can only lead those who permit you to lead. Suffice it to say Blair is no longer a leader with any remit from the UK voting population. He lost that.

The problem with Blair is he positions himself as a ship's figurehead, facing forward - but forgetting there's a ship behind him with Bosun’s Mates and Cook’s Assistant wearing rags and and eating scraps off the captains table. You've got to get your ship in order and look after your crew before you can sail off to assist others. That is Blairs problem. That and his imaginary WMD's.
The points he makes about the EU budget and contributions kinda make sense if you're looking at the bigger picture, sure economic certainity, getting Eastern European countries up to the economic strength of Western Europe etc, yeah I can see that being a valid mission. And I get that UK has been a gateway for foreign investment into the EU, with the city of London creating a vast amount of the UK's GDP - and this being because we're in the EU. I can see that point meaning, fair enough, we could contribute a bit more to the EU. It's just that the UK, outside of the M25, up North, along the east coast, down to Cornwall... it's suffering. Was in 2005 and now more so, desperately so. A balanced UK to EU contribution is required, just for a 5 years, reduce the UK's contribution so it's equal to the rebate we get from the EU. Do that while we take a giant butter knife and spread the investment that goes into London, the business HQ's, the jobs - take that giant butter knife and spread it across the UK. Sort out the rest of the UK. Then you can talk about contributing more to the EU.

We must all know what George Orwell would have written about the deceitful posturing of Tony Blair who dreams of being the President of the United States of Europe one day! This is what a narcissistic personality disorder looks like!

Looking back at this you can see the frustration of Farage and the tory yet Blair's reaction is that of a total dreamer who thinks he is a wonderful benefactor of Europe and we will reap the rewards in the future. It never happened it got worse and Blair should be reminded he was acting like a student not a statesman. His dreaming visions were applied to Iraq and Libya and were equally failures and his future democratic countries became battlefields of extremists. I'm sad that the whole country including me fell for this man's charms and charisma when he ended seventeen years of tory rule. His New Labour was a crock of shit and we still live with his damage and all the immigration that have stretched our services and given us ghettos of people who want their own laws. It's such a pity that Farage could never lead us as a nation he is priceless.

There’s such a hollowness about Blair’s words. How the institutions of the EU can solve the collective European challenges. How the doers take charge. Then came the migrants .What happened? Inaction. Billions go to Africa but still migrants come. Mostly young men who leave their families behind. But we let them in. Why? Because it eases our consciences.

we let them in because we believe in humanity, and these human beings are trying to escape destitution and make a future for their families. You would rather shut all borders between all countries? How incredibly backwards of you!
You know the rules of movement between the EU and UK are that someone has to prove they can support themselves financially before they come, and if they don't find employment within three months they have to go back?

At the height of his powers Blair was miss guided, an easy target to get fooled into being a war criminal, his one skill was to be Teflon coated and get away with it.

Blair standing up for his EU masters and all his vested interests again , must be a lot of money involved in this for him , those with the most to loose shout the loudest and all that.
