Dr Doom is best when he's just the embodiment of "the ends justify the means", and a extremely harsh perfectionist. He's more interesting to me when he actually has good intentions, but does horrible things to accomplish his goals, which end up tainting everything. He also has to be really arrogant, but one of his flaws is that he treats himself as harshly as other people. He has such high standards for himself, that it drives him insane. He has intellect and power, but no compassion or empathy. He's a brain without heart, while Richards, Stark, and Banner are heroes when they let their heart lead their intellect. I also like it when he's actually a pretty good leader of his country, like no one goes hungry, the schools are excellent and free, but obviously the people lack freedom and he's cruel to those who rock the boat a little. When they write Doom without anything for you to sympathize with him over, he's just a cartoon like Darkseid.

Yes!! The-Beyonder. Ironically enough, Henry Cavill would be a great casting. As much as I love the idea of this, I also recognize how tough it can be to portray on screen. The Silver Surfer is the same and we've already seen how that can be rather disappointing. It takes a few great writers and a very good director to get the movie out of a story with a character like this that actually sells. Still, I think it could work. We just need a little more time to get mutants in, re-establish the neighborhood crime fighters, get the FF back where they belong. The stage has to be set for this, properly.

This story might be the adaptation in Avengers 5 in which that version of Doctor Doom was Tony from an alternate universe where the events of Iron Man 2 altered with him being too drunk & broke by turning evil.

This is what I'm saying. There literally has to be zero meta "you look just like Tony!" references. An actor's job is to make a character come to life. If the end result is a different character who looks, sounds, and feels different, there is no reason why one actor can't play multiple guys.

Yeah, Doom uses scientific magic, but he also uses demonic magic. He uses technology and black magic at the same time. Although I guess he's a little better at technology, because I think he still can't get his mom out of hell.
I sometimes think about that. So many of the things we use and abuse nowadays are explained magic. Like, if we proved demon summoning is real, it will be a shock for sometime, but then after a few years it will have scientific explanations, books will be written and eventually, why wouldn't it be science? We'd have reproducible ways of doing it, documentation, theories, where does the magic start and science end? It's quite literally why we can't have magic for too long in our world, it's impossible. If it's real, it will eventually be researched, explained, catalogued, and become science.
As much as I’ve complained, about this as long as there is All Caps or Avalanche by MF Doom playing on his entrance and there is no Downey-isms and Tony Stark-isms and Dr Doom is portrayed differently all will be forgiven

Ironically enough, Henry Cavill would be a great casting. As much as I love the idea of this, I also recognize how tough it can be to portray on screen. The Silver Surfer is the same and we've already seen how that can be rather disappointing.
It takes a few great writers and a very good director to get the movie out of a story with a character like this that actually sells.
Still, I think it could work. We just need a little more time to get mutants in, re-establish the neighborhood crime fighters, get the FF back where they belong. The stage has to be set for this, properly.

This story might be the adaptation in Avengers 5 in which that version of Doctor Doom was Tony from an alternate universe where the events of Iron Man 2 altered with him being too drunk & broke by turning evil.

This is what I'm saying. There literally has to be zero meta "you look just like Tony!" references. An actor's job is to make a character come to life. If the end result is a different character who looks, sounds, and feels different, there is no reason why one actor can't play multiple guys.
@@dasvibe I think this is actually the likely outcome given that RDJ has spoken publicly about wanting more challenging projects and feeling like playing Tony for so long weakened his acting chops. I bet Marvel kept coming back begging for him to return as Tony and he kept saying no, wanting a more interesting role that wouldn't just coast on his star power. So they said "ok how about you play the dude whose face is literally never shown and is the exact opposite of Tony Stark in almost every way" and he said yes.

I sometimes think about that. So many of the things we use and abuse nowadays are explained magic. Like, if we proved demon summoning is real, it will be a shock for sometime, but then after a few years it will have scientific explanations, books will be written and eventually, why wouldn't it be science? We'd have reproducible ways of doing it, documentation, theories, where does the magic start and science end? It's quite literally why we can't have magic for too long in our world, it's impossible. If it's real, it will eventually be researched, explained, catalogued, and become science.

Why not make it a special presentation or the first Disney+ movie or animated movie so that adequate resources n time can be made available for quality work.

Outsmarting Tony to take his wealth? Probably. Permanently hijacking his body and life? Something for a lesser being. Not Doom. Everything he's gained and owned is HIS.
