On April 26, 2023, deputies responded to a domestic disorderly conduct incident in Campbellsport, WI. A man was refusing to leave his ex-girlfriend's house and making threats with a possible firearm. The situation led to a neighborhood evacuation order. When the SWAT team approached, he fled but was eventually subdued by a furry friend.

Actually it's just "psychological pressure" before using physical harm (non-lethal/lethal weapons). With overwhelming amount of officers and pressure, any even a little bit sane person would be frightened and might give up/surrender or at least would lose control over the situation. Quite effective against "lost the way" individuals. And once it's over, it's both nothing really personal to ask if everything alright and legal stuff to avoid "leaving in danger" lawsuit (imagine turning a poor soul into swiss cheese and drive him to PD station for interrogation while bleeding, lawyers would be furious).
You may r/whooosh me or anything, but maybe someone would find it interesting.

There have been trends among some departments to train dogs that are honestly out of control (haven't learned how to cap or control themselves, tend to gnaw/rebite, and and have to be pried off of suspects). The reason they give is that the dogs then can't be called off by the suspect. But this is something that can be proofed for in training and will cause less damage to any suspect who happens to be innocent, who could then sue the department. It would also cut down on bites to handlers. No bitework is better than bad bitework.

Not sure "madness" is the word. He was having mental issues of some sort, we don't know exactly what he said to the officers anyway. But if he was a generally decent guy who was just trying to make them shoot him and/or cause distress to him ex, and he doesn't want to get the dog or the Taser or roughed up, it makes perfect sense to surrender once they call your bluff and are on top of you. He wants to die, that doesn't mean he wants pain.

Wow that dog is incredibly well trained. If I’m seeing it correctly, they didn’t even have to pull him off of the guy, he just stopped biting after a simple command. 4:57

It never fails that these exes can’t & won’t take “No” for an answer. That they severely need acceptance, liking, acknowledgment, sympathy, & attention plus whatever insecurities they may have causing such chaotic behavior. Won’t ever be able to understand the mental mindset or their emotional impulsive actions; not being able to comprehend or recognize the right from wrong common sense choices one should have (with the right upbringing) when overcome with unmanageable emotions. Very sad situation & poor choice. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ Good job to the officers 👍🏼👮🏻‍♀️❤️

Was likely an abusive relationship with the arrestee being the perp. They feel a need to be in control so they stalk and harass the victims until they find someone else to abuse.

I love how based on gender you immediatly pick sides, while his momentary bout of trying to commit suicide-by-cop, then his normal attitude breaking through, strongly suggest he's an abuse victim and his ex is a psycho.

I will never understand how these idiots act all tough and stick their chest before they’re tackled to the ground and cuffed. Then, they decide to act civilly once they realize they’re going to jail. Idiots. 🙄
