As a former Georgia resident, he's definitely not lying about them not caring about vehicle theft. Glad to see there's still proactive police departments out there
The highest felony charge they have in this is the auto theft. Are you willing to have your car crashed into, totaled or have one of your family member's hurt or killed in order to try and recover someone else's vehicle? Especially if the officer's know who the offender already is and could have terminated the pursuit at literally any time after they found it out? Remember, not YOUR car being stolen, some random person you've never met. Are you willing to die for their insured property? This is why pursuits are going away unless the offender is a violent offender/involved in an violent offense.

The only person who should ever be responsible for that guy's towing fees and repairs to his vehicle and compensation for his lost time and compensation for all the wasted time and effort by the police is Kirstin.
Exactly! I've been scrolling through these comments for 15+ minutes looking for anyone talking about that. Why tf does he have to pay to get his car towed because some crackhead stole and crashed it?? She should have to pay that bill in cash before she's even allowed to post bond. If she can't make the payment then she'll have to come up with the money when she gets out and in the meantime the state should pay for it and they'll just tack on that cost with the rest of her court fines. That's absolutely ridiculous that's he'd have to pay for ANY damage that she did!
Right, everyone blamed the guy, but PRINCESS KIRSTEN" has done this several times before and of course they will AGAIN go easy on poor misunderstood KIRSTIN
What are you going to do, wait for Kirsten to come to the tow yard and pay the fees? Or do you think the tow company should just retrieve your car and bill Kirsten for it?
It's a nice sentiment, but looking at Kristin's garb and track record she probably doesn't have any money, but the tow truck has to get paid. So who is paying for it right now? I hate to say it, but the taxpayer does. It's the cost of keeping a civil society.
@@albinoman13bt That's all nice and all but there should be a standard set where a criminal is always liable for at least a basic set of damages to be claimed by the victim(s) automatically. To be paid by the culprit who will be held at the court's jail until they do. You're mature enough to break it, you're mature enough to pay for it, or sit in a jail cell until you do pay off your debt to the citizens you victimized. Many frustrating things about this case but the thing that really got me was the fact that the poor owner of the car had to deal with getting his car out of the ditch or pay the tow fee. I don’t think he should have been responsible for that. They should have at least pulled his car out for him. The county could foot the bill…knowing she most likely wouldn’t be paying like she should.
He could try to sue for expenses given that she was let out of custody prematurely. Not likely to win, but could awaken more people to what happens when failing to enforce laws sufficiently. Also, she might need an involuntary stay at a mental facility. Give her choice of jail or treatment.
While in any other situation, I would wholeheartedly agree. Then again, mans is the dummy who left his keys and walled in his unlocked car that was parked in a public parking. I assume he did it regularly as, in the beginning of the video, they mention that it was something he ‘usually did when at the YMCA’. If that is anything to go off of, he had a habit of doing so. The situation stinks for him, but maybe a little ‘dummy tax’ will help him not to do it anymore.

They don't decide if they are "allowed out without punishment". That comes after trial. They are usually authorized to hold a criminal in jail until trial if they feel they are a risk though. They prefer to just send them over to the criminal justice department and jail, but the jails don't treat their mental illness because they don't have the right resources to do so. Thus the cycle continues.
1 there is only so much room in jail for people awaiting trial, 2 innocent until proven guilty, an innocent person can be arrested twice before going to court for either, judge has to treat everyone the same... you would want the same if you were wrongfully arrested. and it happens more than you think... people have been found guilt and spent decades in prison before later being found innocent... 3 they have to offer bond except in serious circumstances. while this seems serious, and it is, in the grand scheme of things... she ranks fairly low on the criminal danger list... there are rapists, murders, child molesters, terrorists and many others I would put above her.

In what broken world do we live in, where a woman is released on a $750 bond (10% of $7,500) for a third felony offense? After six counts of bail jumping (for this charge alone), you'd think the courts would know better. This woman belongs in jail, where she can't steal someone else's car and cause thousands of dollars in damages. I get bond cases for misdemeanors and non-violent charges, but this is ridiculous.
In order for her to be released from jail, her bond should include payment to injured party of estimated damages of the truck so he can get it repaired. Anytime someone is arrested and there is property damage, that needs to be covered before they release these criminals. It'll be years if ever, restitution is paid through the court.
But if they haven't legally _committed_ the crime until they are found guilty, how can they pay back the victim before trial? What if they pay thousands of dollars back and then are found not guilty? The criminal obviously is at fault for the crime they committed and should be thrown in jail or killed but there is also a fault in the mans security of his vehicle and belongings. In certain areas its common sense to lock your belongings and even the police have motto of "lock it or lose it" when it comes to that.

Yeah but I guess that's what you get for leaving the keys in it! Kinda your fault I guess

Judges need to be held accountable for negligence, this is insane that they are supposed to be deeming whether or not these people should be allowed back into society with/without punishment, yet they see these bodycam videos and still decide to give them a 5th “second chance”.
They don't decide if they are "allowed out without punishment". That comes after trial. They are usually authorized to hold a criminal in jail until trial if they feel they are a risk though. Problem is that most judges don't feel that things like theft are a "risk". Bond is not a punishment. They are also required to release in some states by law.
Maybe we need to convince these criminals to go after judges if they have little or nothing left to lose. Maybe then they will start doing their damn jobs.
@@justforever96 Bonds exist to give people the punitive financial incentive to abide by their terms of release. Best question ever!!
Three felonies and still out of jail????? If she's mental, there are places for that also. Why do the courts let these people go????
It’s society’s fault that they are like this. Didn’t you know?
True, but the state doesn't want to keep mental cases in mental hospitals because they've been defunded for decades. They prefer to just send them over to the criminal justice department and jail, but the jails don't treat their mental illness because they don't have the right resources to do so. Thus the cycle continues.
So much for the three strikes rule 🙄
1 there is only so much room in jail for people awaiting trial, 2 innocent until proven guilty, an innocent person can be arrested twice before going to court for either, judge has to treat everyone the same... you would want the same if you were wrongfully arrested. and it happens more than you think... people have been found guilt and spent decades in prison before later being found innocent... 3 they have to offer bond except in serious circumstances. while this seems serious, and it is, in the grand scheme of things... she ranks fairly low on the criminal danger list... there are rapists, murders, child molesters, terrorists and many others I would put above her.
This new weak minded generation needs to learn you can’t blame mental health as an excuse to break the law and use it as a get out of jail free card, as soon as I heard “I want to go to a medical Center” it was pretty obvious that’s what was happening.

You would be surprised how often people still leave their keys in the car, or leave the engine running when the car is unattended. My city led the nation in auto theft last year. Our local police department commissioned a study to determine the primary cause of our auto theft being so high, and the results of the study showed that more than 70% of the auto thefts in our city that year occurred when the owners left the keys in the vehicle. As a result, a law was passed that makes it illegal to leave your keys in your vehicle. If you leave the keys in the vehicle and the vehicle is stolen, you can be charged with a misdemeanor that comes with a $400 fine. People still do it every day.
While people are in prison for weed as we speak
Wisconsin doesn't do 10% or bail bondsmen. You have to pay the full amount.
@@shannonrickard8605 Hmmm....didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
Does the party have to pay them back then? What if they were just being framed and it turns out the "victim" was just extorting money?

Given that she repeatedly asks for the health care center, my guess is she has a mental illness or a behavioral disorder. My money is on both. I see dude's doing junk like this in the locker room at my gym where they put clothes, car keys, wallet, phone, whatever in a locker and just close the door with no lock. It boggles my mind that anyone could be that trusting. Repeatedly the locker is getting opened by people looking for an empty locker to where anyone and everyone would know somebody's stuff is in there.
Rural Upper Midwest still has that feel, where you can leave your door unlocked and your keys in your car and no one will mess with it. I wouldn't, of course, because sometimes it definitely does go wrong, but it's infrequent enough that it's still a fairly high-trust culture.
Ugh... that's just laziness. If people can afford a gym membership they should be able to afford a 5 dollar lock. I went to a gym for about a year, it was small and barely had anyone in there most times but I still put a lock on the locker.
It depends a lot on the country and setting. You can totally live in a place (especially more rural parts of Europe), where nobody would do anything, but it's still better to be safe rather than sorry.
