love how so many officers stopped by to check on the guy who got shot at while alone, the cop might have been saying he was fine, but it appeared like everyone on the team took the time to check him, the supervisor even told him "good job on coordinating" so he knows he has suport, once any adrenaline goes he will also remember all the support and how quick all his team mates rallied to him. The team spirit shown by this Police Department is awesome, also how they were professional and as soon as Curtis was secure how they switched to keeping him calm, "we will get you in the car and warm as soon as we can, are you hurt, are you in pain?" they are good officers and appear like they are all not only professional but also nice humans caring from anyone and everyone around, the sorry they said to the guy they told had to walk away from an area with an active shooter, they let the guy hang around for a bit and then apologized to him for telling him he could not go into an area that was dangerous. More videos from these guys would make awesome advertising to show how it is only a few bad apples not everyone in law enforcement
It's more than a few bad apples, and I wonder how professional they'd be if everything wasn't being recorded on camera. The entire department knows they're gonna be on RUclips and heavily scrutinized.
@@topspot4834 nope you are watching only the bad things various government, and non-government agencies as well as international standards agencies and NGOs who monitor the satistics on this all come up with around the same number for "bad apples" withint the police force int he USA. a direct quote "“We're finding the numbers are pretty constant,” said Neal Trautman, executive director of the National Institute of Ethics and author of “How to be a Great Cop.” “It is less than 1 percent.”" if you look at the stats for the other NGos etc they all come in under one percent. Now one in one hundred bad cops when you have a force nationally of 708,000 is still over 7,000 bad cops nationally which is not good, and there are lots and lots of issues with cops being able to walk away from one department and because of no national centralized database, being able to walk into another job elsewhere. But that 1% is low it means over 99% are not bad but are tainted by the 1% with over 44,000 gun deaths (not crime just deaths) a year and with the fact that when anyone is interacting with the police it is already not a good day. The amount of stories of bad cops is minute. According to the department of Justice in 2022 over 24% of all residents of the USA experienced contact with police, and that the police had at least one interaction, and sometimes more, that year with over 61 million people. 24% of a country of 320,000,000 people had at least ONE interaction with the Police in the USA. If the corruption/bad cop level was higher than 1% there would be even more stories out there. If you studied satistics at school at even the most basical level you shoudl be able to realise that. over 61,000,000 people interact with 710,000 cops (at least 71,000 are behind the scenes.- logisitics and such) and how many videos from last year (not released last year but featuring stories from last year) did you see. How many different stories where in the news. How many bad interactions did you personally see/hear about. 61,000,000 interactions per year 710,000 cops nationally. when you are having a good day you do not notice the cops, but when you are already having a bad day seeing a cop might make it worse. you are allowing confirmation bias to effect and affect your perception of the industry. over 99% of cops are doing a good job and working hard and you will never see a news story about them "on ABC tonight we lead the news off with a story about how cop A did nothing today, cop b helped a child cross the road, cop C by putting months of invesitigation into X stopped X crime without it even starting" That makes boring news and NSMBC would never get the headline that grabs attention. What you hear is the story of cops understress dealling with someone on probably the worst day of their life and of course when a bad cop in involved in something like that it makes the story more sensational.
@@topspot4834 I think their only argument was there are more good cops than bad cops. The only reason why it would feel like there is more is cause media only uploads those bad cases (what they should do) but they only upload those cases cause it's unusual. Same happens on everything. It's not fair you to say "these cops are acting like this just cause there are bodycams" you don't know that. With that argument you could say every police is evil which is literally not true.
Aside from a couple of officers with the La Crosse PD, they are pretty damm amazing! Especially watching the camaraderie in this video was just icing on the cake! La Crosse, WI isn’t a big city but there is a decent amount of people there. I wouldn’t call it a town though since it has a population of over 52,000. I live in a town of less than 2,900 people now. The city where I went to school including university has less than 40,000. 😂
The more I watch these videos and see how leniently these violent criminals are treated, the more I understand why this city keeps providing us with such videos. That the citizens put up with such lack enforcement of the laws by the prosecutor's office is astounding.
why did the cops lie about him shooting at them lol they tried to get him to incriminate himself at the end.. how convenient it wasn't caught on body cam or dash cam
That's the problem, Americans have completely disengaged from the system we have. The only thing people care about is being "entertained". I can understand people not engaging with the Federal system, but vote in your city elections!

La Crosse once again proving to be as calm, polite, and professional as law enforcement gets. Huge thanks to those serving the La Crosse and La Crescent area. Both departments are the most respectable I’ve seen.
Curtis began running around his house when he was 3 years old. He's still running. Now it's around a prison pod. Running is terrific exercise. His head is now pwmanently tilted sideways.
So proud of how quickly the officer called this out and got the area blocked off. He had his head on a swivel from the second he saw that flash. His concern for the community not knowing where the bullet went, putting himself second is proof of his commitment to his job.
I’m not from the states but the professionalism of WI officers (at least from what I’ve seen on bodycams) is pretty respectable. Plus the accent reminds me of the mounties up here lol
Why are career criminals ever allowed out of prison/jail?! Based on the endless horror stories we all hear about, it’s clearly not a good idea to think that they’ll just wake up one day and be upstanding citizens 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
How about a WELL DONE for the caller who could see from his apartment window? Dispatcher: "Caller states he's crouched behind the center of the arts building." "Caller said he's behind a black car." As the bearcat gets into position - "Caller states you are near the correct vehicle." Give that man recognition!
Yeah, who needs eyes in the sky, when a single caller has led the operation through by the hand. Also, the English in the video commentary is pretty bad.
It was nice how many of the cops were whole heartedly concerned for their fellow officer even tho he kept telling them the bullet was nowhere near him. They are a great team & it really shows.
They knew he was in shock, you can hear it in his voice, he kept repeating the same thing over and over and was trying hard to play it cool. He was outstanding regardless but he needed to go home for his own good
As a professional Filmmaker , I have to laugh at your comments. This is like the most basic editing anyone could do all he did was still the body camera footage and then cut down the time of the officers doing nothing and standing around. This is like basic one.01 editing stuff something like a kid in junior high could do on their laptop by themselves. In fact, I was doing very much the same type of stuff when I was about 13 years old just not on police stuff. Also the editing is very very basic.
@@Sassyglbeautythat’s not true and you are naive to think that. Plenty of nice people get mistreated on it’s on bodycam. A nice lady in a truck cooperated at a traffic stop. Agreed to a vehicle search and he planted drugs. All caught on the bodycam.

LaCrosse PD yet again getting an absolutely perfect A+ score on EVERY aspect possible. Their training and hiring is S tier top notch! I'm only curious how he ended up in federal prison and not state prison. Does anyone know?
I think the craziest thing about all these videos is learning there's a university in Lacross. What do they teach there? How to break a restraining order? How to cook, sell, and use meth?
The people they have to deal with is for the most patient and willing people bc they are the absolute worst and resist the most and a bunch of aggressive crackheads, it’s horrible af
Imagine walking home at 2am and seeing a police hunt going down and knowing you literally wont be able to got into your home anytime soon. That must freaking suck.

Somehow I find the WI police the most professional, well-mannered, humane, and sophisticated PD out of all those I've seen. "PD" i.e. the ones that are shown. State&counties alike. Also, the videos are masterfully edited.
While that is true in Lacrosse, in cities like Kenosha police shoot unarmed people in the back and allow vigilantes to take over streets and commit murders.
@@vicarious8989 I can't. Can you explain what it's like to be so wrong? The cops let a group of ILLEGAL vigilantes take over a street and one of them, using an illegally obtain gun, murdered two unarmed people and tried to murder a good guy with a gun who was trying to stop an active shooter. Before you claim that he was found "innocent", I will tell you that he was acquitted by a racist jury assisted by a racist DA who had already determined that there was no crime in cops shooting an unarmed man in back in front of his kids. There is a big difference. Klan juries in the south used to aquitt Klansmen who lynched blacks. Since there is no statute of limitations on murder, I hope that the DOJ charges all involved.

I had taken the train in. so i decided to walk back to my Hotel which was about 2 miles in -10f weather.. a few minutes into my walk a police car stopped and asked if i needed anything and where was i going.. he offered me a ride ..when i got in the officer switched the cruiser heat on max and gave me a ride to the hotel.. Kudos to him as NYE is a busy night for police yet he took the time to run me back..

love how so many officers stopped by to check on the guy who got shot at while alone, the cop might have been saying he was fine, but it appeared like everyone on the team took the time to check him, the supervisor even told him "good job on coordinating" so he knows he has suport, once any adrenaline goes he will also remember all the support and how quick all his team mates rallied to him.
@@topspot4834 nope you are watching only the bad things
various government, and non-government agencies as well as international standards agencies and NGOs who monitor the satistics on this all come up with around the same number for "bad apples" withint the police force int he USA.
a direct quote "“We're finding the numbers are pretty constant,” said Neal Trautman, executive director of the National Institute of Ethics and author of “How to be a Great Cop.” “It is less than 1 percent.”"
if you look at the stats for the other NGos etc they all come in under one percent.
Now one in one hundred bad cops when you have a force nationally of 708,000 is still over 7,000 bad cops nationally which is not good, and
there are lots and lots of issues with cops being able to walk away from one department and because of no national centralized database, being able to walk into another job elsewhere.
But that 1% is low it means over 99% are not bad but are tainted by the 1%
with over 44,000 gun deaths (not crime just deaths) a year and with the fact that when anyone is interacting with the police it is already not a good day.
61,000,000 interactions per year
710,000 cops nationally.
when you are having a good day you do not notice the cops, but when you are already having a bad day seeing a cop might make it worse.
you are allowing confirmation bias to effect and affect your perception of the industry. over 99% of cops are doing a good job and working hard and you will never see a news story about them
"on ABC tonight we lead the news off with a story about how cop A did nothing today, cop b helped a child cross the road, cop C by putting months of invesitigation into X stopped X crime without it even starting"
That makes boring news and NSMBC would never get the headline that grabs attention.
What you hear is the story of cops understress dealling with someone on probably the worst day of their life and of course when a bad cop in involved in something like that it makes the story more sensational.
@@topspot4834 So you're mad that bodycams are working?
@@topspot4834 I think their only argument was there are more good cops than bad cops. The only reason why it would feel like there is more is cause media only uploads those bad cases (what they should do) but they only upload those cases cause it's unusual. Same happens on everything. It's not fair you to say "these cops are acting like this just cause there are bodycams" you don't know that. With that argument you could say every police is evil which is literally not true.
