On June 2, 2022, a man traveled for two and a half hours, anticipating a meeting with a 15-year-old girl in Cumberland, WI. As he reached the agreed location, several Cumberland Police officers and DCI agents caught him by surprise and quickly apprehended him. Later investigations unveiled that the man worked as a surgical technician, was married, and had two children.
The purpose of the featured content is to show the law enforcement interaction. It is NOT to publicly shame, ridicule, or degrade the individuals involved. I had a coworker that didn't show up to work one Monday after he was so excited for the weekend. Tuesday passed. We didn't know where he was. Turns out he was trying to meet an underage girl and was arrested. I never felt more sick to my stomach necause he was in my home once and talked about my children so fondly. Ugh. I cannot with these monsters. I hope they rot in the lowest level of hell.

@@timthompson8297 No, it's _far_ worse than all three. I've worked with severely disabled children. Bedbound ones who can barely move and who can't speak, but who are fully conscious and aware. If a person everyone else trusts were abusing them, someone _paid_ to be around them and care for them and be their protector, they would know what was happening but could do absolutely nothing to save themselves. That would be an entirely new level of helplessness.
It's terrifying to think of the children we worked with being hurt by grown adults, and that would be one of the few times I would wish pain and violence onto anyone.
Imagine being the kids and having to find out the reason why your dad is gone for 3 years, and having to tell your friends or lie about it

When I was a jail nurse one day I had a heart to heart with a child predator in my office. He was an older gentleman, and he told me that a lot of the children he perved on throughout his life are now coming into the jail. That's the kind of damage just one of these people do to children.

He’s just a surgical tech (you can have your license in 11 months, just showing the difference in being an actual surgeon which takes app. 13 years), so he wouldn’t have been sedating anybody in that hospital, an anesthesiologist would do that & he wouldn’t have been alone with patients either bc the anesthesiologist & nurses doesn’t leave until the patient does. Thank God! That’s how it works in the hospital I work for. And he absolutely will lose his license, which I’m also thankful for. You can’t have a felony & hold a medical license of any kind, nor work in a hospital period.

Seems like a huge exaggeration. Being entrapped by a decoy who is in her 20's or 30's hardly seems like a genuine crime. I've seen those decoys on To Catch a Predator and it's laughable anyone would believe they're a day under 25 or 30. Today children lack independence because of the way we designed our cities and are sometimes completely limited to their age groups because their are sometimes not allowed to get the help, talk to an adult or not allowed to consume the knowledge of adults to develop their lives and skills later in life.

As far as we 'know' from this he didn't "do" anything to anyone. There was no actual child involved in this sting thank god and nobody was actually hurt. I'm hoping that a search of his records would have turned up any old victims and he would have been charged separately with MUCH higher penalty. Nobody wants to pay for this scum to sit in jail the rest of his life but we also don't want him to be given another chance at hurting a child for real.... I hope after he's out and registered as a sex offender he is kept under very close watch for the rest of his life.

This demonstrates a Mental issue when knowing the risks, the Legal consequences and Family consequences of disclosure.

It's because of the nature of the Sting operation, he was only charged with 2nd degree attempted SA of a child. That's just the way it is and I'm surprised they were able to charge him with even that given how little evidence there can be for these cases and how a lot of states would throw this out under the claim of entrapment. He definitely isn't doing 3 years either, more like 2 at most given his good behaviour and lack of criminal history, possibly justice 8 months.

It's usually because they didn't physically meet and harm a minor, which would definitely get someone a much longer sentence. Sucks, I know because usually they reoffend, this guy more likely since it was found out he was contacting minors before. But because they didn't physically do anything and took a plea deal, he got less.
His face is going to be known by everyone in his community however and thanks to internet, he's going to be known everywhere he goes, and I'm sure his old coworkers are going to find out eventually as well! No amount of confidentiality is going to hide this disgusting act.

She got on the stand at trial and lied like a rug and claimed that the victim was a flirt who invited the perv's attention. She may not have done what her hubbie did, but she was just as evil.

Things can get better after such a terrible experience, but it takes time, work, and a lot of support and TLC. I completely understand why it's too much for some victims to overcome.

Still proud about myself that I prevented at least one sticky end, where a twelve year old girl shared the messages an older guy sent her. Innocent sounding messages to a child, creepy sounding to an adult (with plans agreed on for a meet up in the woods the next day). She took her father and uncle with her to the meeting, later they had the police arrest him. The guy was known to be a predator apparently. Still in online contact with her today. Great woman.
