my ex broke up with my while i was playing this game, she sent me a message saying she didn’t wanna be together no more. i remember playing this game while thinking what to say to her and also helped me forget about her. honestly this game holds so many memories. love this game enternity 10/10
Sorry to hear man. I was actually playing assassin's creed origins last September around the time me and my ex broke up. Don't know what your ex was like but my ex-girlfriend was honestly an ungrateful piece of crap looking in retrospect at how she treated me.
I don’t know man, I think I just don’t like the story my big problem is pacing, a lot of emotional sense seems to come out of nowhere, we as a player spend too little time with a lot of characters to actually care about them. Other than that villains are a complete joke, we have no idea about motivations of the order- it seems like there are a bunch of evil people, doing evil for the sake of it But my biggest problem is that it’s not really intrusting- it’s a revenge story in ancient Egypt- as simple as that, there’s no plot twist or revelation.
@@fallingintensifies1050 while i love Bayek's personality, you are right in my opinion, his story is basically avenging a loved one which is common in AC and the Order itself is arguably not that memorable however, i thought Caesar and his people were real cool antagonists
There's a mission in Origins called The Flea. All you do is follow a kid and jump off higher and higher points. It's an extremely understated quest but the way that Bayek interacts with the boy is really a great example of writing.
@My_pfp_beats_all_dog_breeds.Esio wasn't Egyptian, though. He was Greek. And he lived in Cyrene, which was an ancient Greek, and later, Roman city. Italians are close descendants of the Romans, so it's a plausible theory that Esio could be related to Ezio. That or maybe it's just a simple reference that I needlessly read too much into.
@@thejohnson2328 yeah but even then, ubi doesn't care, they just want to make money with the least amount of effort possible. they know that people will buy it no matter what
@@alexdemetrius8671 hmm maybe you're right :/ We only had the bayek letter in Valhalla and him as a sailor in Odyssey (like Easter egg) Maybe we saw him in the end of the persian dlc of Odyssey if I remember correctly. But a other game with him would be totally awesome, with a story that took place after the dlcs. But maybe the dlcs are that problem, maybe ubisoft thought they made enough about bayek
I’ve played most of the Assassins games and honestly, the way Origins was made was magical. Everything. The history, the settings, the story, the characters. Just beautiful. I haven’t felt this immersed playing a game in a minute.
this game rivals the witcher 3 for me. just came onto gamepass the other week and im sad i did not play it earlier. judging by what everyone else thinks i probably should not buy the newer games.
This is probably in my top 3 favourite games of all time for me. It just hit the spot. One of the few games I’ve gone out my way to platinum. I literally just wanted to do every single thing in the game. With other games I’ll finish the story and then move on. They just nailed the setting in this game.
@@joesheppards1 true man. Back then I was a bit young to spend money on games so I pirated the game, still did everything on the map, every question marker on it. That's how much I loved this game. Now I'm replaying it on PS5 and I'm having a blast, I still remember some small places and sidequests. Planing to do the platinum for real now. Meanwhile i still can't get myself to finish damn Valhalla, lol.
@@JudeTheRUclipsPoopersubscribeif you like the witcher 3 i recommend you do buy the newer games theyd be right up your alley ac is an rpg now unfortunately
bayek and his love for aya and kemu drove that story to a deeper level for me. even in valhalla, his letter to aya, “take care, my love, my iset, my northern star, i am ever your osiris.” - reminder of what an amazing character he was.
I knew this game was gonna be amazing when I heard, “Sleep, I never sleep. I just wait, in the shadows. And I will kill you all! Everyone who sniffed the air that day in siwa!”
ubisoft wants to pander to odyssey fanbase hence the bastard child that valhalla is. Origins had one of the best acting and characters. Even valhalla does to an extend but jesus fuck i hate eivor just standng in one spot talking like a tree
They could have really picked up where it left off to developed areas where the original one didn’t fully deliver on in the story and gameplay. For one example, it’s supposed to be an origins story (hence the name lolz), but it doesn’t really get into where the philosophy and tenants of the Creed are derived and fostered. What was the pivotal point that allowed this secret to be carried forward for so many generations? Yeah, I understand it did a good job showing us the founders of the Creed - and the Hidden Ones DLC did an even better job at expanding this - but is was still a little lacklustre in the sense that Aya is just like “Oh, you see that eagle skull? I am a hidden one now.” I know that’s a small simplification, but still I feel the change was somewhat quick with no greater explanation to that philosophy and what value it meant for Aya and Bayek to shed their past. However, the game does do very well in the sense it hints small, intricate, and sometimes subliminal references to the Creed and what it means. For example, the one side quest where there is a man revered as a prophet and God-like was revealed to only be corruptive and cruel. Bayek ends him and confronts this his philosophy with his own in true assassin style, and I thought it was an underrated and exceptional bit of the story (especially since it was only a side quest). There’s also several others within the culture of the Egyptian people and their relationship to God-Kings (and deities in general), etc. Through and through, I definitely feel like Origins could have laid the groundwork for something amazing. Even the Isu story and the cyclical apocalypse idea I thought would have been interesting. Unfortunately all this was scrapped.
Anyway, sorry for the long wall of text, but I really did love this game and I’m frustrated with the direction it’s going with another new rpg like Valhalla and Odyssey confirmed. Feels like they’re making stand-alone games, which really escapes a major part that I think people loved about these games; it’s cohesive and creative story line (albeit not always perfect).
Of the three Ancient Saga games, Origins is my absolute favorite. The acting is definitely amazing and carries its less-amazing script really hard. Its writing clearly had a rocky development, as pieces are missing, in weird places, or sometimes just odd, but as an _atmosphere,_ as a grouping of systems and mechanics, Assassin's Creed Origins is pretty close to sublime. Even its negatives can be played around in a reasonable time-frame - something I can't say about Odyssey or Valhalla. Bayek responds to player-input instantaneously, the RPG elements are just present enough to bear thinking about, but not as oppressively overbearing as Odyssey's and Valhalla's. I feel like this is about the farthest they could possibly push it without Assassin's Creed shattering to dust in the player's hands. It's not perfect. Again, its story isn't something I'm too interested in commenting on, but as far as being a _game_ is concerned, it plays smoother, faster, and snappier than Odyssey or Valhalla could ever hope to. It also has the strongest, least buggy and most functional stealth in the trilogy, it lets me play and sneak through compounds with a completely _ludicrous_ level of aggression without ever being seen or letting a stray detection collapse everything. It gets my respect for that _alone._ I love this game. Thank you for covering it.
Saleem did an amazing job voicing Bayek. The emotions he poured out onto the script and the power of his voice really gave Bayek personality and emotion. This isn’t a video game. This is art.
You are immersed in this wholy foreign land and everything is just mystical. Everywhere is something that gives reason to crave for more of that world 🤷🏻♀️
@@jayveeeee Could you do another video just about the DLCs? Especially curse of the pharaohs, which was just the icing (not cherry) on the cake in my opinion 👌
This game is a masterpiece as an egyptian an being in must of the places this game still overwelmed me and made me have another trip to most the places. The dlc was to good to be true!
As a history nerd, being able to travel to this extraordinary time period, as well as the tombs in Curse of The Pharaohs DLC was so cool and no other ac games has given me the same feel as origins!
Me too. The only thing that bothered me they did not insert a glossary of the characters, the Egyptian mythos and the places we visit as Bayek. Luckily as a history nerd myself I knew of the places and people that appeared in origins.
@@azureascendant994 wasn’t there a historical mode in origins? The one where they basically give u a virtual historical tour of all the different areas in the game? I remember sinking lots of hours into that just learning about history
Edit: Hi everyone, Crystal here! I'm so touched with all your kind words, well wishes, enthusiasm to play Origins, and my story inspiring you all to play for the first time. I'm definitely doing so much better now. I'm 2 years post surgery, and have been officially cancer free for a year, 2 years on Dec. 31st 2022. Thank you all for your kind words. I hope you enjoyed or are enjoying your playthrough, and I hope you're all having fun. 💜💜💜 I first played this game a few months after it came out. I had never played an Assassin's Creed game before, and when I saw that it took place in Ancient Egypt, I knew I had to play it. I'm a huge fan of Ancient Egypt. My partner would leave his laptop with me when he went to work and I would tell him of my adventures when he came back. When I was diagnosed with stage 1 thyroid cancer in early 2020, I fell into a deep depression, especially after my surgery. I was exhausted all the time, and I would just get too tired playing the games I usually played at the time. So my partner bought me the deluxe edition with both of the DLC so I could have something to do while he was at work, and something for me to focus on rather than being depressed. Origins saved me. I didn't have to worry about being sick, I didn't have to worry about the next treatment. All I wanted to do was to go into Ancient Egypt and help the people and make their lives better. I've played and beaten Origins so many times throughout the years, and while 2020 had a lot of painful memories for me, I put in about 111 hours when I was recovering, and I will never delete that save file. To me, that save file is a record of the trials of what I went through, and the strength that I had during that time.
Just did the same. Managed to crank up AC1 to 4K and 120 fps on PC. Felt like a brand new game. Just played the first few hours but I love it this far. Haven't played since it first released.
Would of been nice both countries I actually want to visit and for the Roman Empire I would of liked because you would be on the other side and could be a origin story for the Templars or just a story on their side. Italy IDK about it(I'm in the middle) And I would've mind something or a game or DLC for/about Aya
Bayek reminded me a lot of Connor in terms of how much was taken from him and how many odds were stacked against him. I’d would’ve loved to have seen a sequel with Aya so both of their stories can sort of come full circle better.
Like the saying goes “Quality of over Quantity” But for me I enjoyed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla in their own way. But I like Valhalla more since I found out I have Vikings in my blood soo yea (but everyone is different)
@@SoggyToast506 I imagine he was making a joke about the original commenter’s name but it still doesn’t make that much sense and people aren’t going to pay that much attention
Oh ya, my first time playing it I spent about 10 hours just scouring Siwa and doing everything I could there and exploring every nook and cranny. Then i progressed and the title screen happened and I realized that I just finished the intro to the game and everything I had done was just a taste of what the rest of the game had to offer. It was quite overwhelming. I thought that the siwa area was quite large and had lots of stuff for me to do, but then I realized it’s just a little area in this massive world. Great game.
I liked the valhalla opening but it didn't feel assassin enough, I'm ok if he isn't an assassin and all but this dude is way too offensive for me but I love the mentor set and I love the graphics along with the Roman assassin history
@@immortalphoenix1523 I liked it but it wasn't legendary for me, it still had that grey disgusting fog everywhere which dulled everything, but at the end of the game it was gorgeous so I know what you mean
Whats sad is Bayek was the best character in AC for years, and he wont ever get another game. Origins is up there with the best AC games easy. Going back to it you realize how odyssey and valhalla were steps back.
Honestly odyssey sucked because of the dual characters. Bayek has a story specific to him. And you feel his sadness. But Kassandra and Alexios just kinda live the same vague storylines and it’s pretty boring w all the bs abilities. This ain’t world of Warcraft tf

The world in origins is one of the most aesthetically pleasing game worlds of all time, its just gorgeous to look at and captures that whole Mummy adventurous Egypt vibe so perfect. Literally every building or structure in the game feels like it has meaning and it never gets repetative from an artistic standpoint, I swear this game made me stop and just take in the setting so many times, I had a "wow this is beautiful" moment every 5 minutes. @@walterwhite6216 what is the problem with leveling? If you do all side quests you outlevel everything and the game is easy even on the hardest difficulty + level scaling.
I played this game when my mind wasn't in a good state. To see how Assassin's Creed changed, how Bayek and Aya are with each other and adapted themselves to what they think it's best... I loved how everything interacts. It brings me comfort. When Bayek says "You will not devour my heart!" is something I'll treasure and remember when my mind goes into a bad place again.
when I played Valhalla and read the note that Reda kept for "safekeeping" for Bayek and heard his voice, it took me till halfway through the letter that I had a big smile across my face hearing his voice again. His character and character arcs were impactful and he has become sort of an iconic figure for the franchise now
Wow. This is the best review of Origins i've ever seen. I completely agree with you on everything you said. I played Origins in a difficult time in my life and honestly, i don't know where i'd be without it. The story of Bayek & Aya hit me on a very deep level, in a way i had never experienced before, and that i've never felt since in a video game. Thank you Ashraf, Sarah and all the team behind this masterpiece.
When I was a lot younger I started writing outlines of a fantasy story that took place in a desert. It took many years to really try and figure out what I was doing. When Origins came out I was immediately able to put it together. “This is how I want it to feel” origins was next level in what it accomplished with making a breathing world and an emotion behind being in that era. To this day I listen to the soundtrack when I write. Truly has been one of the biggest inspirations behind why I do what I do.
Origins is definitely my favorite game of the mythology trilogy. And even out of all the ac games it's in my top 5. I know it's only been like 4 years but this video gave me some nostalgia and now I want to play origins again 😅
@@Agito4774 definitely! Origins and black flag both have that feeling for me. They prove that you can deeply explore and create a mystical setting and still tell a good assassin story.

Imma be honest...this was probably my favorite AC game. The mystery and magic of the world was phenomenal. But I just love Egypt and all of the mythology. The deserts and the buildings, then the fact that it was so much more of an RPG, I just loved that. The character himself was amazing, and I will forever love Bayek as one of my favorite main characters in AC.
The game makes sense 1-you know what you are doing ( revenge ) 2-amazing maps and tombs to explore ( ancient Egypt ) 3-despite you like bayek or not he looks , feels , moves , fights like an angry assasin unlike other titles
entering a pyramid for the first time in this game, everything suddenly goes quiet and you see your torch glinting off the gold inside those dusty passages, that was one of my favourite gaming moments of all time
the little details in the map was amazing, if you go out in the desert, mirages will appear and the horizon will wave about, those little things are perfect
I love that in Origins, it's showed how the custom of removing the ring finger began. It was completely by accident, but the assassins took it as a rite of passage, and ran with it! Also that there is a statue of Amunet below Monteriggioni in AC2! Love that Ubisoft looped back to make that connection. Origins is definitely an important game in the series 👏
The symbolism of the chopped-off ring finger orginally related to the fact that in AC1, Assassins weren't allowed to be married (because you can't wear a wedding ring if you've got no ring finger); the 'thimble' of the hidden blade took the place of the ring, symbolizing that you were 'married' to the Assassins. But in Origins, it symbolizes the failure of Bayek and Aya's marriage in the face of the higher calling that they're drawn to. It's a really clever and meaningful bit of retconning. Fun fact: I did some research (i.e., went on Wikipedia) and found out that wearing a ring on the fourth finger of the left hand to symbolize love/marriage was a tradition in Ancient Egypt during Bayek's time, and even 1,000 years before that, making it one of the oldest human traditions that currently exists. The Egyptians believed there was a vein that ran from that finger directly to the heart.
@@mrpleebus9862 ah, I didn't know that about AC1 unfortunately. Honestly AC2 is where I started. Really should play the first one, huh 😅 and the removal of Bayek ring finger as the symbolism of the union between him and Aya dissolving in the persut of a greeting calling is powerful! Hadn't thought of it that way before
@@Laiiney88 If you read the codex pages in AC2, they explain how Altair (the main character in AC1) became a great reformer of the Brotherhood, including allowing women to be Assassins and allowing Assassins to get married. Yes, I spend too much time thinking about AC!
That finger thing was stupid and forced. In the sauna I killed the guy with an axe, walked out and when I got to the main door a cutscene showed Beyak trying to drown the guy cuts his finger off. So stupid.
@@sanjonn how did you use an axe when you get stripped of all gear? maybe that’s why you didn’t like it because it didn’t play out how it was meant to, you’re not meant to have an axe at all in that part of the game lmfao
In Origins, I loved getting to the max level with all the max gear, walking very slowly through a camp while everyone attacks you and parrying them all without killing anyone, walking up to the highest ranking dude in there and just one straight one shotting him and then really slowly walking out again parrying everyone. Then I would slowly walk to a ledge and jump. I always imagine the dudes in the camp would think a straight up god strode into their camp with the sole purpose of killing that one dude and then just disappeared, never to be seen again.
The plot, the environment they really take you back there, its like living in Egypt in the old days, Bayek's love for Aya and Egypt, its the best game of the series, period.

I think leveling in Origins was great.. It helped with the feel of the First Assassin (hidden one) and his journey of understanding and strengh.. the fact that he struggled a lot in the begining and them he became that force of nature by the end, including the dlc.. it's fitting for such a mythical setting to have this journey full of mistery and wonder. I loved when the that main battle theme played as Bayek triumphs agaisnt the old and the new enemies.. the egyptian rising up in a fallen egypt dominated by Romans and Greeks, and then even facing the dead pharaohs coming back to life, after all that Journey.. knowing that this is how the brotherhood rised.. it's fantastic.
Odyssey is my personal favorite mainly because I was going through the after of suicide and depression and it gave me a long journey to focus on. However I will say that Origins is, out of the newest games, the best. It has a perfect blend of story and character development and a beautiful setting. Bayek easily became my absolute favorite assassin. Not only because of his rage fueled by loss, but also because of his love he has for everyone around him. He’s a man of faith and a man of the people. He truly believes in the sanctity of life and values people of all ages. He often ends up helping either elders or very young kids. Showing what a wonderful father he is even to children that may not be bonded by blood. That’s why I struggled with eivor so much he really doesn’t have that much going on except for his dads death which is avenged with a couple hours into the game and also he constantly calls his father a coward for how he died so not sure if he’s really doing it for his father or for himself.
Origins is breathtakingly beautiful and I couldn’t believe it when I played it for the first time last year. I took a long break from the franchise after Unity and this blew me away. Granted there were COVID-lockdowns and I needed a place to chill out for my mind. I’m happy to see it’s getting a current gen update. I’d like to see that for Black Flag as well.
I never even noticed there weren't dialogue options in origins, because we've never had them and didnt need them. Eivor is a really well written character that would've benefited from not having those three dialogue options every time that have you choosing obvious personality traits. And on that, we don't talk about Kassandra :/
I also love how every weapon type had its own distinct identity. Sickle swords for instance are the only weapon that will turn an enemy`s back towards you after a heavy attack, which you could follow up with a light attack for bonus damage if you were fast enough. (The enemy would turn back around after that). And the bonus with the two-handed maces was that after a parry, the first melee hit on the parried enemy always had a 100% crit chance. I was sad to see these features gone in Odyssey.
Agree. I love the animations, the distinct feel and mechanics in each one. Attack speed and heaviness has influence on how you fight and what your strategy will be. You notice it the best in the gladiator arena
Ac Origins was my first AC too. Also one of my first open world videogames. I really like it. But I have played more games after Origins. I realized that Origins was a enjoyable game, but far of being a masterpiece.
This is one of those games I just couldn't wait to play, the music, the mystique, it was so fantastic. I've not encountered a game in recent memory that has captured me as much as origins.
@@12xenn45 the lip sync was pretty bad in origins too. Although I love that game and all the new ones it was definitely the start of quantity over quality.
I really love the forts, when i was further in the game i loved to just go to a fort and try to stealthy or storm in to and take out the complete forth. This was a fun way to combat some more!!
I’ve finished the main story and Hidden Ones. I’m still working my way through Curse of the Pharaohs, but I know exactly what you’re talking about. One of my favorite things to do is sneak all the way around an enemy camp, stealth attacking as many guards as I can and boobytrapping every brazier i come across. I’ll eventually let the shit hit the fan and then get a good vantage point to watch some fool eventually blow himself up trying to signal for reinforcements. It never gets old.
I mean, yes of course. I still remember when I finished prologue and I left siwa and started my way to Alexandria. I was playing 10 hours by traveling there in game. I was playing 10 hours by riding from Siwa to Alexandria. Quatarra deppression is still deep in my heart. And also mechanics where all nailed great. I can easily recommend it to everyone.

THIS IS THE BEST AC: ORIGINS REVIEW/VIDEO ESSAY EVER MADE! I wish Ubisoft seriously consider this video for the next AC Game :(
It's my favourite Assassin's Creed. From a lifelong fan! I loved Bayek, you described him perfectly when you say he "turned into a dad" everytime a kid was in a scene. I think Ancient Egypt as a landscape helped that uniqueness. It's magic is something almost everyone is intrigued by, and it was made perfectly. Origins also didn't go over the way with history and the science fiction elements, like Odyssey and Valhalla did. It's an amazing experience, and one of the few game I would love to play for the first time again
Origins is amazing! While I love ancient Greece, ancient Egypt was so fresh and exotic to me. It's my favorite setting of the last 3 AC games which is surprising since I figured Valhalla would be the clear choice as Vikings are awesome. Valhalla's gameplay just didn't capture me, even with it being as similar as it is to the previous 2 entries.
I'll never unsee how good the facial animations are in Origins, like the emotion is so vicible and the mouth moves in sync with the words we hear. Especially compared to other games from that same time, it really stands out. Let's just say horizon zero dawn, amazing graphics and stuff, but the facial animations gave away that it was actually still a game. In Origins, they're so real, so vibrant and so expressing, especially on the main characters.
This was the first AC game after Revelations, where I truly cried several times. The story with Bayeks son, his final encounter in the desert when you solved all the astrology riddles. The moment the bird skull formed the Creed logo and Ayas birth as Amuneth. That never happened through Odyssee or Valhalla. Origins has also the best soundtrack imho and will always have a special place in my heart. You described perfectly why, so thank you for that.
Exploring Egypt as Bayek was one of the most immersive and auspicious moments in my entire life.... I mean I could not believe my eyes that I am exploring this accurately crafted 2000 year old Egyptian civilization that is so good and realistic and immersive... Everything about this game is perfect and I always dreamt that Ubisoft will make an Assassin's creed set in ancient civilizations especially in Egypt and my wishes have finally come true... Thank you Ubisoft... Really proud of you... I mean this game has it all... Kings queens pharaohs mummies Roman generals Caeser Cleopatra Pyramids Deserts ... What more can I ask for...
i still think Odyssey is my fave of the trilogy, but god Origins did so much to restore my faith and love for the franchise again, what a complete shock to the system edit: im glad that you touched on the controversy at ubisoft regarding Aya, the worst part of the marketing of Syndicate kind of got turned up to 100 when they made these decisions over Aya and its unfortunate to say the least, i do like Bayek a lot but it still is a little sad to wonder what could have been if she was a playable character
I remember playing this game with a friend and thinking about how in the next game Bayek was going to travel to Greece and in his third game he was going to visit Rome... what a beautiful dream. I know everybody loves Ezio and Edward, but Bayek is my favorite assassin.
The world in this game is just on another level. The attention to detail and the way the team depicted the people's habits, the way they worked, the accuracy of the maps from a historic point of view..ugh so good. At one point I was just strolling around a small town and stumbled into some npcs painting portraits on some sarcophagus, went around the spot and another npc was dyeing fabrics, preparing salt and various herbs to embalm the dead ones. Then googled about it to find out more and found out everything actually existed. It was related to the Fayum mummy portraits. A mix of greek and egiptean naturalistic portraits where the two cultures clashed and brought up something new. That's just one spot on that whole map.
I honestly think Origins might have just recently became my favorite assassins creed game. I think if someone wants to get a good feel for the series I would likely suggest Brotherhood, 3, Black Flag, and Origins. It’s truly mindblowing seeing how drastically the series has changed and evolved while always doing something new. It’s had its low points, but Assassins Creed is undeniably one of the best game franchises made to this day.
What I remember from the newest games is that the games at times feels like a chore, it is not really than fun to do 100 similar side quests where you for example rescue some people from cages and so on just to get a little bit of exp. would personally have fewer and more memorable quests like the davinci quests of the old games.
Thats what I like about Valhalla. No side quests, no bandit camps where you gotta free prisoners for no reason... Just character based stories and exploration!
Just picked this up on sale. I immediately loved inhabiting this character. Great protagonist, gorgeous world, love the exploration opportunities, and my horse.
I’m currently playing through it for the first time. I’ve only played AC1 and Valhalla. I was never a single player game type of person but it’s absolutely incredible and I am obsessed. It’s the first game in awhile that I have to force myself to stop playing.
Not at all. Oddesy is garbage tbh. Way too long and boring story. No hidden blade. Set in a time hundreds of years before the hidden ones were made. Has litteraly nothing to do with assasins creed.
Amazing Jayvee. You really gave me more reasons to replay this masterpiece. I played it when the quarantine started and it really helped me in difficult times. I have a lot of good memories of this game and, in some ways, it touched my heart. Keep it up ❤
I audibly said "exactly" when you were talking about the loot and weapon system (referring to having less pickups but with more meaningful benefits and changes). This is the same reason why I love the weapons in Bloodborne over any other FromSoftware game. Maybe theres fewer overall, but they all feel unique and respond differently to each situation
This game overall has emotion and that cozy adventurish feeling we all thrive for, the immense amount of things to do, a long with great quests, views (hermit places) and much more is what makes this game so good.

I play Origins(279 hours) more than I play Valhalla.(104 hours)😂 Even to this day I boot up Origins and every single time I am blown away by how beautiful it is. My favourite game in the series and my favourite settings in any game.
@@malazan6004 it depends, if you are a fan of the old AC games and you didn't like or in your case was disappointed in and Odyssey then no, I wouldn't recommend it. Valhalla is basically a blend of the 2 games and for me personally, I am enjoying it but it's definitely not a good AC game.
Origins felt like real life, it felt so organic to me, like a strory that really could have happen back then, but odyssey and specially valhala felt a bit like plastic in my opinion. The animations, the weapons, the combat didnt look reaistic to me. And in valhalla the map and backround etc looked so fantasy
Origins was good, I played through it probably 3-4 times and adore the DLC’s. It felt more like a natural progression, or even just natural iteration of AC without straying away too far. Bayek and Aya definitely carry the game, but there is plenty to do that feels purposeful and fun without being overly grindy.
When I was in junior high class in history we were talking about ancient Egypt and I got this game and I wouldn’t have known half the shit I was talking about without this game and this just proves GAMES CAN TEACH YOU ABOUT THINGS!! I loved this game so much
really my favorite part of this game was the exploration (the look of the zones steals my breath, its a beautiful game), and the stealth. the stealth made everything so fun even if i wasnt interested in the story. i got this game for christmas when it first came out and have almost 100% it by now playing on and off. such an enjoyable game even if it was so different. ive been playing ac since it came out and i have to say i enjoyed origins a lot out of all the games :)

Uh I think thats a rather bold use of masterpiece. It is impressive aesthetically, the VO and Bayeks characterisation is interesting. Beyond that though... A derivative RPG system, a contrived and convoluted central plot and pacing issues. There are too many faults and too little uniqueness to say it's a masterpiece.

Bayek is still my favourite character, his emotional range was so good.
That opening scene gave me chills
Yesssss so many quiet moments but also huge spikes. He reflects how a human acts, at least in my eyes
I feel like him being Medjay helped a lot. Like you feel like a protector of the people. While in Odyssey you're just helping both sides for money.
I don’t know man, I think I just don’t like the story
my big problem is pacing, a lot of emotional sense seems to come out of nowhere, we as a player spend too little time with a lot of characters to actually care about them.
Other than that villains are a complete joke, we have no idea about motivations of the order- it seems like there are a bunch of evil people, doing evil for the sake of it
But my biggest problem is that it’s not really intrusting- it’s a revenge story in ancient Egypt- as simple as that, there’s no plot twist or revelation.

@@josha5933 nah I found it great, set the atmosphere for the rest of the game. And first impressions are everything
That was an amazing intro 💪
The opening cutscene where Bayek kills his first target really sets the tone for the game and is a super badass intro for Bayek as a character.
I can imagine somewhere in another universe... Bayek got the trilogy we’ve always wanted.
Feels like they’re making stand-alone games, which really escapes a major part that I think people loved about these games; it’s cohesive and creative story line (albeit not always perfect).
its probably filled with pride shit lmaoo
@@capolean2902 why?
Ubisoft usually doesn't hear what community wants, but it would be really nice, really
It gets my respect for that _alone._
I love this game. Thank you for covering it.
Completely agree, with your view mate, wish it had social stealth and good movement, but still a phenomenal entry in the franchise

I first played this game a few months after it came out.

Then I would slowly walk to a ledge and jump. I always imagine the dudes in the camp would think a straight up god strode into their camp with the sole purpose of killing that one dude and then just disappeared, never to be seen again.

I loved every moment of playing that game, really wish I could play it for the first time again.
Games can really help a suicidal/depressed person, have helped me many times infact i just bought the 3 AC RPG's because of this
Anyways i hope ur doing well and are over the suicidal stuff m8 !
Hope you’re doing well bro 👍
Glad you’re still here!
This was the most detailed review on AC origins I've seen on RUclips. Great stuff man!.
Thanks so much for saying so man! It's been awesome to see this kind of reception. I appreciate it
@@jayveeeee ayyy thanks for replying. Ive newly subbed to your channel. I especially enjoyed the part where you broke down the differences in combat between origins, Odyssey and valhalla. You deserve the reception. Look forward to future content :).
@@sirlancelot7104 well then welcome!! Combat is something I’m always drawn to so I’m glad that part resonated 😁 I want to get back to more of these types of videos for the other games soon!
One of the best atmospheric music I've heard in a game. It's amazing. I listen to the soundtrack to this day
I never even noticed there weren't dialogue options in origins, because we've never had them and didnt need them. Eivor is a really well written character that would've benefited from not having those three dialogue options every time that have you choosing obvious personality traits. And on that, we don't talk about Kassandra :/
Besides the leveling system, which was there from syndicate, stuff rarely feels like an rpg
Bayek is, in my opinion, the best AC character.
“ I feel a disturbance in the force, as if millions of ezio fan’s screamed out in terror, and were suddenly silenced.”
True.
fax! been a fan of the series since the 1st game and ezio was always #1 but i don’t mind giving bayek the #1 Spot and AC II #2
It's rare to see a vengeful character be so charming and empathetic.
agreed, good take fellow gamer.

Jayvee really knows how to make a summarizing video. It’s so professional and clean. I appreciate all the work it took to produce. Thank you!
Go watch whitelight
Bayek had such a great story line and the range of emotions throughout made it even more real. Origins is something I’ll be playing again!
It was my 1st Assassin's Creed and totally made me love the series!
My first one was Rogue, imagine the paradox😂
Ac Origins was my first AC too. Also one of my first open world videogames. I really like it. But I have played more games after Origins. I realized that Origins was a enjoyable game, but far of being a masterpiece.
I’m playing through for the first time now in 2021. The story is so amazing. It’s absolutely incredible.
This is one of those games I just couldn't wait to play, the music, the mystique, it was so fantastic. I've not encountered a game in recent memory that has captured me as much as origins.
Actually replaying this right now on PC and enjoying it over odyssey and definitely Valhalla
@@12xenn45 Even tho I don't like Odyssey, the setting was really well done.
@@12xenn45 Fax I wanna do parkour again
@@12xenn45 the lip sync was pretty bad in origins too. Although I love that game and all the new ones it was definitely the start of quantity over quality.
Valhalla was so bad. I’m not really into Vikings and the game is too damn long.
@@Jack-ji8kr But it is still better than Odyssey.
Amazing video man, Origins is probably one of the best video games I've played. If only Bayek got the sequel he deserves.
He could get one just not the one he deserves
@@WCRyder He deserves good sequel.
@@Rx_Sqx he deserves a good sequel but if we can be with our selfs honest. It will likely be bad
And it's dissapointing how they downgraded the animations for valhalla. Origins was a masterpiece frfr. Best game ubisoft has ever made
This was the first AC game after Revelations, where I truly cried several times.
What more can I ask for...
i still think Odyssey is my fave of the trilogy, but god Origins did so much to restore my faith and love for the franchise again, what a complete shock to the system
edit: im glad that you touched on the controversy at ubisoft regarding Aya, the worst part of the marketing of Syndicate kind of got turned up to 100 when they made these decisions over Aya and its unfortunate to say the least, i do like Bayek a lot but it still is a little sad to wonder what could have been if she was a playable character
Exactly
Thats what I like about Valhalla. No side quests, no bandit camps where you gotta free prisoners for no reason... Just character based stories and exploration!
Just picked this up on sale. I immediately loved inhabiting this character. Great protagonist, gorgeous world, love the exploration opportunities, and my horse.
Origins was an absolute master piece made me start the whole series again 💯
Origins is the best game in AC, and it’s one of the best open world rpg games.

Origins world felt like it was alive. That was one of the best things I took from it
Clearing out camps and forts is actually one of my favorite things to do
This game overall has emotion and that cozy adventurish feeling we all thrive for, the immense amount of things to do, a long with great quests, views (hermit places) and much more is what makes this game so good.
I love how I can just walk around and then just see a meteoroid fall from the sky and when I go to it I got like a god sword and shield. That type of shit is so cool to me.
I play Origins(279 hours) more than I play Valhalla.(104 hours)😂 Even to this day I boot up Origins and every single time I am blown away by how beautiful it is.
My favourite game in the series and my favourite settings in any game.
I really love origins and odyssey was such a let down for me but I haven't touched Valhalla you think it's worth it?
@@malazan6004 buy when is on 20€
@@malazan6004 it depends, if you are a fan of the old AC games and you didn't like or in your case was disappointed in and Odyssey then no, I wouldn't recommend it. Valhalla is basically a blend of the 2 games and for me personally, I am enjoying it but it's definitely not a good AC game.
Fun fact:
If you throw a sleep dart into a flame it will create a mist of sleeping agent
And if you walk into it yourslelf you also get sleepy
I loved this game so much
I want Origins part II; it was the best one and really binds the story together and makes the grind matter
I was so hurt when he lost his son then I started looking for everyone that was involved in his son's death
really my favorite part of this game was the exploration (the look of the zones steals my breath, its a beautiful game), and the stealth. the stealth made everything so fun even if i wasnt interested in the story. i got this game for christmas when it first came out and have almost 100% it by now playing on and off. such an enjoyable game even if it was so different. ive been playing ac since it came out and i have to say i enjoyed origins a lot out of all the games :)
He sums it up so well i 'm impressed. I knew i liked Origins much more than the sequels but couldn't exactly point to the reason. This video really sums it up. Clapclap chief
Thanks dude 💙

No, your game is a masterpiece!
@@shivamnegi7149 Agreed my friend, but this is also a masterpiece
When arthur morgan says a game is a masterpiece, it is.
@@kingsley3208 It's my opinion

Bayek is definitely the closest person who’s been good as Ezio
