    My 2000 Avalon still running today with zero issues. 320,000 miles. I put a Whiteline sway bar to keep the body roll but i love big body cars with room and some decent speed (which is why i also got an LS460). For this price, AVALON has come a VERY LONG WAY! GO AVALON!

      The 2000 Avalon is a beautiful car with a very spacious interior, the earlier models such as the 2006 Avalon felt like a major downgrade

      @@JorgeRodriguez-po7kx toyota is getting really stupid with FWD , its logical for the regular non TRD vehicles that have TRD versions available but the one's with the TRD upgrade should at least be AWD and some power difference that makes it actually sporty not just a badge and some side skirts

    • @92ASC
      @92ASC 4 года назад +42

      @@JorgeRodriguez-po7kx they have RWD vehicles... Under the Lexus badge. Making a 300+HP RWD/AWD Avalon or Camry would cannabilize cars like the Lexus GS. These cars are for people who want a practical family sedan but want a little flair/sportiness over a typical rental spec base model or a luxury cruiser that your grandparents would drive.

      Shahram Khayam That is sadly the reality. Not only Toyota but nowadays BMW and Mercedes and other carmakers would put their used to be prestige performance badge (M badge, AMG etc..) on ANY model with some exterior sport trims.

      When you buy Toyota you already bought a Lexus. There is no Lexus brand outside the United States. I own a Lexus LS, and everything from the engine to the wheels have Toyota stamped on it. Sure the Lexus brand is top notch, but so is Toyota. I own both, and happy with both. Not to mention the Toyota Celsior/ Lexus LS comes with more options than the Lexus LS that Japan sends over here.

That's why they keep making the engines smaller and lowering the liters and making the fast big engine vehicles too expensive for many people to afford. I have to say though I had a honda accord that lasted 250k miles and only changes the oil and I still see 90's toyotas all over with no rust but all our American made cars are made to fall apart after 10 years

    @jjacob25101 4 года назад +7

    Unless you get a good deal, with destination and dealership scalping fee, it will be closer to $50K, especially where I live in Honolulu.
    The TRD is based on the XSE trim, so it has most of the options available. The styling is much nicer than the Camry TRD, which is more mainstream, and based on the SE trim with a V6, to be more affordable.
    The Avalon TRD is expensive and big, but if that's what you want, and can afford it, you probably are not concerned about the price.
    So many people say the Camry and Avalon TRD should have more power, but they would probably not be intending to buy it anyway, and many, without professional driver training could not handle it, though with the suspension and bracing set up, it is much more easier to keep under control.
    The interior is nice, especially the seats, but the stereo design does not allow for the JBL sound system with the CD player, which is included with the Camry TRD if you get one with the option package.
    With that said, I will opt for the Camry TRD with the option package if I can get it, as the size is more to my liking, and more affordable. I wish the rear seat could fold down, but I can live with that, and the XSE features that's not available on the TRD.
    At first, I did not like the big rear spoiler, or the red striped pattern of the seats, but it grew on me, and I like it now. I just wish they included the fog lights from the Camry Nightshade SE XP Edition.
    Toyota got it right for both the Camry and Avalon TRD, with the aesthetics, reliable N/A V6, exhaust, chassis, suspension and brake modifications.
    For those that criticize it, they haven't drove it, and what they want is probably more in line with a Honda Civic Type R, or Subaru WRX STi, which is not the type of vehicle these were intended to be.

    • @teslaguy5311
      @teslaguy5311 4 года назад +2

      I already test drove a Camry TRD. It’s amazing, better than my Audi s6 in terms of handling. However it’s not faster than it. The Toyota Camry TRD was made to enhance the handling on the car at least that’s what Toyota told me. They didn’t touch the engine for a reason and it’s actually the cheapest way to get into a Camry v6.

    • @jjacob25101
      @jjacob25101 4 года назад

      @@teslaguy5311 Exactly. Everybody is crying for more power, but Toyota wants to keep it reliable. Most of these aren't going to buy the TRD anyway. Those that do know how, or can find aftermarket tuners, but if something breaks, that's their problem.
      I still believe the TRD is retuned for engine and transmission response to match the exhaust. It would be way enough power for me, as long as it had the option package with the JBL CD stereo. My biggest downside is the rear seat does not fold down.

    • @larrybundy3783

      I own the TRD camary....a blast to drive and sounds great. The 6 is reliable and has plenty of linear power. It cost me 31k out the door. While I am not crazy about some of the interior after market parts can take care of that...all in all a great value from yota.

    The Camry is more popular as the pricing makes it competitive with the other sport trim Camrys and the XSE V6. At $45K, there's a lot more options and different cars that open up at that price point.
