In its day, one of the finest cars on the road. I had a 1977, very comfortable, smooth, solid car. This one should be restored.
I graduated in 73 these were the go to cars in the day,we would beef up the engine and had a great sleeper.😊

I had one with those swivel seats, I used to cruise up to the fellas with the Motley Crue blasting , open the door, swivel the seat and say pass me the doobie 😀

You got to love it when it doesn't matter what side of the pump you're on. Love this car. I seen the pay phone with no phone. Times have surely change since this car.
My Brother Brought a ’75 Chevy Monte Carlo in the ‘75 October and it was the first car that, I actually had got my Drivers License in that and it was the I drove at 18 years old for about three years and then he sold it! By , I enjoyed the car !

Years ago I had an apartment and my landlord had in his garage, a '57 Caddy, a '71 Caddy and his late wife's '74 Monte (same color as the one in the video) that had only 34,000mi. He wouldn't sell any of them. He passed away a year after I moved in and his kids didn't want to deal with having to sell the cars so they junked them.

Love these personal luxury coupes. Grand Prix, Cutlass, Regal, Cordoba, Cougar/T-Bird and all the rest of them I love them all but my favorite is the Grand Prix.
The numbers may taper lower on the right than the left with high miles. But if the odometer flips the numbers will alternate in height up down up down .
That under the car shot is legendary !!

Mom and Dad had one of these things, same color and all......I hated driving it, drank gas like an aircraft carrier, and drove like one, and the end of the hood was like a car length past the windshield...... you could land planes on it
My friend just purchased a car just like this,has 48000 miles on it,one owner,garaged keep,fully loaded,oil change with records every 3000 miles, mint condition....$1800.00 he paid for it.

B4 I traded off,I toke a trip drive long distance, and got around 18 mpg!! Good powerful 350 V-8 2bbl ! Wish I could 😪 still had it!!!

I remember these cars when they were new. My Uncle had a 1976 That was bright red with white top and interior. Nice looking, nice cruising car. Too bad the 350 had only 140hp!!!

You know one thing I've noticed when you do your test drives and then you walk around with the Monte Carlo's of that era they had swivel seats you never even checked to see if the seat swivels

I think you have swivel bucket seats.
Poor ole chevy sounds like a hair dryer when you floor it. A nice pair of headers and full Flowmaster dual exhaust would help with a nice pair of aluminum heads and a good lopey camshaft.

You need to get back to your roots and get more cars like this one. Throw some nice wheels and tires on it, dual exhaust, nice steering wheel and clean up the interior and you'd have a nice cruiser for pretty cheap money.
