  • 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner For Sale
    Beep-beep! Plymouth's legendary Road Runner made for the ultimate muscle car. The formula was simple: take a common and inexpensive bodystyle, strip out all the unnecessary bits, lower the stance, widen the tires, and drop in a massive powerplant that's sure to light up the rear axle at any time. This 1969 Road Runner is no exception, powered by a formidable, numbers-matching 383 C.I. V8 breathing through a 4-barrel carburetor sitting inside an immaculate engine bay. Torque is stomped into the pavement through an equally numbers-matching A-727 "Torqueflite" 3-speed automatic transmission, sure to put a smile on your face as this Road Runner speeds down the highway. Original drivetrains like that are hard to come by, even more so in an application as attractive as this Road Runner! The exterior's laser-straight bodylines are bathed in the same correct F8-code "Ivy Green Metallic" paint as this Road Runner came with from the factory, repainted to a high standard and buffed out to a brilliant shine. Complimenting black matte rally stripes and a black vinyl top pair to that "Ivy Green Metallic" beautifully, and the chrome brightwork gleams exceptionally in the sun. Furthermore, the floors, frame, trunk and jambs are all rock-solid and in great shape! Opening the large twin doors reveals a beautifully-restored two-tone dark green vinyl interior, complete with factory gauges and an original AM radio! Options on this mean green Road Runner include power steering, a working BEEP BEEP horn, an 8 & 3/4" rear axle with 3.23 gearing, factory gauges, an original AM radio, vent windows, a driver's-side chrome mirror, under-dash aux. gauges, and stock exhaust manifolds with a dual exhaust system that's got a great sound. The car rides on a stunning set of like-new 15" Magnum 500 wheels over Hoosier Radial GT tires for a factory-fresh look straight out of a Plymouth advertisement! With a combination of great power and mean sound, this '69 Plymouth runs, drives, and handles extremely well. For sure, this Roadrunner is just waiting for the chance to get back out onto the road, and we think you'd look pretty good outrunning Wile E. Coyote behind the wheel.

    Guys, it`s absolutely stunning, love the green. I had a 70, it was a 383 car with a 727, original air grabber car, these were no frills cars, they were for people who couldn`t afford a GTX, a/c on a road runner is pretty rare, mine didn`t have it. When we would idle all night on cruise nights, your feet would sweat in your shoes, that`s how hot the floor would get. What ended up happening is I got tired of the 383, very dependable engines, but 335 HP in a 4,000 lb car, started getting old, so I got bored with it and ended up selling it, what a mistake. It was Limelight with the black striped air grabber hood that worked, ralley dash, tic tac toc, guys it still makes me sick just thinking about it to this day. It doesn`t get much better than a B Body Mopar.

    Wow, reading the comments is a joke, guys you better buy one while you can, they don`t make em anymore, I would be willing to bet in 20 years they are all gonna be 6 figure vehicles, and the only people who will have them are the high dollar collectors, these will be trailer queens that will never see the light of day again. If you are able to find one that is not a complete rust bucket, you are still looking at $60k easy to bring it to this condition, paint and body on this car is $10k all day long, probably more.

    HORRIBLE tires

    • @olikat8
      @olikat8 4 месяца назад +1

      Anymore, to get even a decent selection of tires, you have to go a minimum of 16" rims. 17" & 18" are the sweet spot for price/selection when it comes to real performance rubber in 55-60 series rubber. I avoid any of the "Old school" brands that have been pumping out the same tire, thread pattern et al for decades. This car is decent, presentable- I do see bubbles in the rocker (where the quarter & door meet. they leaded that section in, it pops out when moisture starts getting behind it) & when he ran the camera up the hood, the dividing line of the green/black looked bad it was hard & appears to have white in that spot peeking through. The AC being gone is also a drawback, since summer is hot & sticky
