I drove my mates mode 3 long range. I was a fan of EVs in general and expected to be impressed. It was way more impressive to experience up close. Especially driving it. Acceleration was silly!
@@lemongavine Didn't exced mine. I drive a BMW i3 (my other car). The 0-60 is approx 7seconds. My long range AWD Tesla model 3 - which I got at start of year - is supposed to be just over 4seconds. So when I first floored it I expected to be blown when away compared with i3 . But wasn't. I expect the BMW i3 is about near equivalent in acceleration terms from 0 to 40mph to the Tesla - and thereafter from 40-60mph the Tesla wins. Hence teh molde disappointment expeiened when starting off from the lights. Overall, I wasnt blown away by the whole Tesla experience. The Tesla exceeds in some areas but the BMW does other things better. Overall if I am nipping out local in urban setting I tend to take the BMW i3 over the Tesla. As an professional engineer - predisposed to analyse tech stuff like this - I am unimpressed by people who claim that Tesla is years ahead of the competition.

But I suspect you don't know enough physics and maths to be convinced. Do you know how to differentiate a velocity profile? Or how torque relates to acceleratiion and power ? Probably not - or you wouldn't have embarassed yourself by stating a falsehood.
That was the most honest user report I've ever seen but mire to the point your reaction is the norm! No, I don't drive an EV but I will as soon as the £25k Tesla is launched with maybe one or two years yet unless I suddenly get a wind fall which is very doubtful! I am though an enthusiast ever since the Top Gear lads drive the sports car on their track and wiped the early battery out after one lap. The future is bright, the future is Tesla.

I'd change a few small things in the software, but that may come in time. I gotta say I love the red color. Sadly you mostly see them in White, since other colors cost extra, and I guess even I would just get the white one because I don't care enough to spend another like 1500€, but still that red... black looks really cool too. I don't get to see too many teslas here in germany, but occasionally I do and I saw a black one recently, looked pretty damn good too. Maybe I just like the red because my parents always had red cars too, we still have 2, sadly no Teslas/EVs yet, because of the pandemic my parents are rarely driving anyway, so they decided not to not buy a new car yet, but maybe once Giga Berlin is finished..

You summarised how I react every single time I drive my Model 3P - only had it a week and have a permanent Cheshire Cat grin - it’s an incredible piece of tech and (for me) the build quality is on par with anything else I’ve owned (BMW/Merc/Range Rover) but somehow makes them all feel very 1980’s in terms of their power delivery - M4 Comp pack and Range Rover supercharged feel very slow by comparison - think about that, what a bonkers set of words for what we’re the benchmark only a few years ago 😂😍
Sadly no, the government of Victoria in Australia is actually looking at adding an additional tax to the owners of EVs . No you didn’t misread the last line, this announcement was made mid May 2021 . Surely this would make us the only place in the world to do so, on a positive note I personally live 100% self sufficient so my EV will be charged by solar so that’s a plus I guess.
I'm 7 weeks into a 6 month driving ban (for medical reasons, not for being irresonsible) and driving my Tesla is the one thing I miss the most. It's in my garage, collecting dust now, poor thing. (I've called my car Joules, btw. A wink to the energy measurement Joule)

Although I enjoy the noise of some petrol cars, it's performance that matters, and the way electric motors work means big power makes very little difference in normal driving's energy consumption. Only losers roll coal. And the electric motor whine looks like RC cars, so it's not unpleasant. Lack of pumps (Tesla's repair policy makes Teslas undesirable) with decent availability, prices, and ease of use, means I'm sticking to petrol for a while

Other cars have advanced autopilot-like drive assist similar to Tesla that are as good (or nearly as good) as Tesla. It's completely overhyped - and believed by too people that self drive is just around the corner. Elon's been promising FSD would definitively be released by end of year for 4 years straight now. Its only marginally moved on from 2016 and has not moved up on the offical recognised scale that defines FSD. It works well enough on simple and very well marked out, well maintained highways - A-roads or motorways. But try it on other british roads with parked up cars everyhwere and country roads with blind sharp bends then it will try to kill you or crash the car every 10minutes or so. I know I own one. Peope get in my Tesla and 'ooh' and 'ahhh' because it can recognise and display on the screen the likes of traffic cones , wheelie bins, people on bikes...etc - as if that's impressive. A 2 year old can do that - but it doesnt mean you would let a 2 year old drive you around. Come to think of it - Tesla autopilot is maybe a bit like a well trained 3 or 4 year old kid who can follow white dash lines - but is otherwise completely obvliious to the world around and potential dangers surrounding.
Just a note, if you have the option, please don't record audio in an echo-y room. Just go outside or record in front of an open window, or a curtain, or something.
Try keeping a hand on the wheel like you are supposed to. Drinking coffee while driving instead of keeping one hand on the wheel, for gods sake. No wonder their are accidents and Tesla get the blame.

None chargers is able to be installed in appartment parking lot so fossil is still using big time. I have try Renault Zoe Z.E 50, and Nissan Leaf 24 kWh and Nissan Leaf 30 kWh and Nissan Leaf 40 kWh and Nissan Leaf 62 kWh. And Hyundai Ioniq EV with 28 kWh battery pack. The newest one charging snail slow in comparison.

Had a model 3 for a year sold it to buy Kia EV6 had the Kia for 4 months then went back to a model 3 as I missed the Tesla so much.
