- Modified Avata with Axis flying 3.5 kit and motors
Tried to give it a bit of a spanking today! At the moment it never fails to impress me! This in my opinion is on par with any 3.5 inch 4s whoop.. if not better!! Развлечения
Im all in on the axis 3.5. Nice
It does transform it for sure!
Awesome test flying bro
Great video mate!!! It proper rips now! Hard to beleive thats an Avata (well nearly everything has been changed😂) I love the multiple tricks you've got going on, skills are coming on strong mate!
Thanks mate... actually took inspiration from you and try to chuck in some more flips and rolls 😅. It definitely helps to get a better on the sticks I think
Wow, you're very strong. 🤜🏻
I might do this when I get a spare Avata
I want a stocky one and a ripper one lmao
I had the same thoughts initially... however I'm having an absolute blast with this! I tried the go pro on today for cinematic stuff, and I couldn't even tell it was on there really!
I think the only reason I'd want another avata now, is to use a spare avata for filming very risky places where I might lose it. So I might look for a used one just for that.
@@FPV-TV419 that’s good to know, how about agility with the GoPro?
Once I do the upgrade who knows when, if it’s good for inside flights I might just have both upgraded when I get a spare one
@@FPV-TV419 I first want to see more reviews
You should post a another vid with hard right yaw without any roll mix
@Bert's Drone View it womt be good for indoor flights.... its too powerful in its converted form. And too big. Its definitely an outdoor whoop at 3.5 inch.
I have done tumble tests on my first video... and it performs almost perfectly! A massive improvement on the stock avata.
you do very productive content 👌👌 I also ordered it and I have one soul when I will personally test it🎉 i’m interesting can you testing without freestyle flying, how will do battery life? how many time it will gives you with cinewoop flying
Thank you 😊. Yes I Will definitely do a battery test on more cinematic flying. I was hoping to do this at the weekend but it wouldn't have been a fair test as it was quite windy 😅
The upgrade looks good! How do the props mount? Is it a regular threaded shaft or is it still the two M2 screws holding them on?
Props mount with 2x m2 screws. So you can use any 3.5 inch props with the same mounting. (Within reason, as the avata didn't like the avan props, so I've ordered some hq props the same as the kit comes with but 3 blade instead of 4... see how they perform)
@@FPV-TV419 I’ve noticed that in the 3”-3.5” props that there are more options in the threaded shaft type props than the 2 screw type. I flipped the motors right side up on my Cine25, bottom mounted the battery, and realized I could actually put a 3” prop on it but I’m limited by the 2 screw mounting system on the xing2 1404 motors I have which is why I asked. I’m looking for some 3” props so I’ll be paying attention to what works for your avata upgrade. One thing about flipping the motor to a props up configuration is that it the quad seems WAY quieter than the pusher configuration which I found very interesting.
Hey nice flight, do you Need to change the rates or something like this After installing the Kit?
Thanks 🤟. No... I'm still on the same rates I was on the stock frame and motors.
Great video! Is there anywhere in the UK that could do the upgrade for me? I am hopeless at soldering etc
Thanks 😁. Hmm.. not that I know of... if you pay for someone else to do it, it should be fine if they know what they are doing. But just got to be aware there's always a risk of damaging something and dji will not ever sell the parts for you to repair it yourself other than the accessories they already have listed, props and ducts etc. I recently damaged the lens on mine, and they refused to sell me a lens. So I had to buy a dji 03 camera and fit the camera module inside the avatas camera housing. It's exactly the same camera module. So there are work around for some parts.. but not the avatas esc/ 03 stack, that's about the only part you'd likely never get hold of. Don't let me put you off though! For a cinematic drone with djis features it's amazing!
@@FPV-TV419 Don't know anyone, unfortunately ... really impressed with this upgrade!.
Hello. only frame and propellers changed
Hi, the axis kit is frame, motors, propellers ....
Hey are you using different Props? If so which ones? Are you getting an motor over load error pop up on you?
I tried avan 3.5 3 blade props. They flew really nicely, but the avata didn't like it. I suspect they didn't have enough thrust.... I didn't get a motor overload warning at all whilst using them.
I've swapped back to the 4 blade hq props that the kit came with. The avata is much happier on those props. Occasionally get a motor overload warning. But it never affects the drone. It could be a warning value set by dji ... but the warning could be well below the flight controller/ esc limits
@@FPV-TV419 I'm wondering if the overload message might be AVATA still thinking it's got the stock motors, and seeing the RPM increase from the higher kV motors as outside the parameters values it's programed to alert for.
I guess if you feel the 157s upon landing, and they aren't hot, then the warning is just the AVATA not understanding it's own capabilities, and not an actual overload.
No matter what, you're not getting the warning like AXISFLYING was in their video, even though it looks like you're flying through much soupier air. Thanks again. I'm so excited now
@Brandon Reeves this is true. I'm glad I am not the only one experiencing the motor load error. When I get the drone back from heavy flying. The motors are warm. .but not hot to the touch. I feel like the stock motors got hotter than these c157-2 motors.
@@DessiLu14 I never thought to feel my stock motors, so I really wouldn't have a base for comparison. I guess if the 157s did get hot, the good news is that we're now on a 4 bolt pattern so it would be possible to switch to something like a 2207.
@Brandon Reeves It would be great to see other motor combinations on the Avata and see what it really likes. Yesterday, I really pushed the avata hard and kept that motor overload error up the whole time flying. When I landed, I touched the motors, and they felt a little warm. It was about 70 degrees F outside. Not sure if the cool weather may have helped with cooling the motor down.
Hi, hello, it doesn't feel normal to hear the sound. Have you changed other propellers? Thank you very much for your testing, and I hope you can share any questions or suggestions with me so that we can continue to upgrade and improve in the future.
Hi, yes I tried some 3 blade avan props. It doesn't like them at all. I'm going to test some hq 3 blades ... the reason I'm looking at 3 blade props is because with the 4 blades the throttle hover point is very low in manual mode. Like as if the 4 blade is giving too much thrust. However... with the extra weight of the go pro, the throttle hover position was slightly higher.
Overall I'm extremely impressed! The ducts are very strong as I've crashed it quite hard in testing. I do wish the camera could have been mounted a little further forward... but I'm going to guess you had to mount it there it is for centre of gravity?
@@FPV-TV419 Before, there was a version that could adjust the position, considering the balance of weight before and after, so it was not used, but you mentioned this issue again, I will try to adjust it.
When you install, you will find that the position of the flight control is no longer the original position, but also for the overall balance. I don't want the avata to consume more energy in solving the balance.
@张义禄 if you could find a way of mounting further forward , even just a small amount it would make a difference. In manual mode it's no issue... but for flying backwards or sideways in sport mode the ducts get in the way of the shot. (This is one of the unique features of the avata... being able to fly backwards and being chased by the subject is pretty awesome)
@@FPV-TV419 Perhaps there will be another version, which I am trying to lower its focus, so that the structure will also change. I need some time to try.
@@FPV-TV419 I appreciate your suggestion😊
Was the upgrade easy
Yes it is really. If you can solder... you can do it. Its a bit of a jigsaw puzzle with the new frame when building up, but the more screws you fit the easier it becomes.
@@FPV-TV419 agree, soldering can seem intimidating, but practice on something else to know how it works and you shouldn’t have a problem. Steady hands is what you’ll need
@@albertg968 the solder on the avata board is very soft... takes nothing to de solder any of the wires. I just added a little extra lead solder and then re soldered new wires. Was straight forward
@@FPV-TV419 is the avata using regular lead solder? I can’t stand that lead free stuff! I had the axisflying kit in my cart ready to go and then decided to hold off to see how others liked it. It looks good! What’s this motor overload warning you speak of? I would like to see someone come up with an avata conversion using a regular props up config rather than the pusher.
