I installed my Kit today. This Kit is just awesome. I liked my Avata before but now i love it.
Same! Although the throttle hover position takes a bit of getting used to as it's really low ... id say about 25% whereas I'm used about 40% throttle hover position
Cam you use this with GoPro without problems?
This is definitely the solution to the tumble. There is no doubt to my eyes. From 70-80% tumble coming from the stock frame to 5% after the conversion, changing the protective frame is the solution. Thanks for uploading. ❤
merci ppour le retour
Thank you so much for posting. It's a relief to not see the motor overload warning pop up every time you goose it. I got my kit yesterday, going to spend the week learning how to solder, and will convert next weekend. I've been waiting for your video and am glad you got your kit quickly.
Thanks man. Yea its a time consuming job to swap... but so long as you can solder... you can do it. Just take some pictures and videos on disassembly and be sure to make a note of which screws come from where on the 03/ esc stack. Other than that, just watch the video by axis flying on how to do the swap... and play it back at half speed.
Velcro strap will work just fine as it would have before 🤙
Great review. Thanks to you now will order one. Already upgraded with axis motors and 4x4 hq props while ago. Turned into a beast but thumble remained in some occasions.
Thank you for the tumble test!!
Amazing video mate! Love all the little extra overlays! I've gotta dp my avata now haven't I?!😂
Thanks mate 😁. Absolutely! Yes just do it! It's a hell of a blast!
Nice loved honest review. I just hope to get rid of yaw washout and i think from your flying it definitely did. Also would be nice that you also mentioned is to get slightly lower pitch from prop noise that is another bit im looking forward to. Ordered conversion kit, shuld be here in few days.
Thanks ❤
Loved it mate. I'm next.. lol
Mikey
Very Nice 😍
First of all, thank you for testing. I have spent several months completing the modification design of the avata 35. When you encounter some problems while using it, we can discuss it together.good luck!
Will there also be a 2.9 frame for the C157 motor DJI style 2.9 props develops? Or is only the 3.5 frame for sale with the 157-2 engines Would be nice if there was also a smaller frame
@@vincentzuidema There is another version, which is still being tested.
What about the motor overload message. Do we just ignore it.
@@richiefrankproductions you can ignore it.
That's what I was assuming because it's probably just the stock flight controller reading that the motors are pulling more power than stock and it thinks they are overloading but thanks to dji for not putting in any failsafe on that.
Great vid and great heads up. I'm gonna get meself one of those frames. Cheers mate👍
Thanks man. Yea this genuinely surprised me. Battery does suffer. But still 6 to 8 minutes of moderate to hard flying is enough for most people. You might get 10 minutes cruising
@@FPV-TV419 thanks again for the batteries info. Have Subbed will be looking out for some more tests 👍
like the flying though
awesome testing bro
Thanks man 😊
Yo bro,
Great conversion!! Avata forever
Done the mod and wow! The difference is massive and the sound is normal. ❤❤❤ I did a sound comparison on my page 😮
It's amazing isn't it! You do lose a couple of features... the camera is far less useful in normal and sport mode... as you can see the ducts. But in manual mode is where it shines! With all the dji safety features, and the durability of the avata and axis parts. Its very good!
@@FPV-TV419 yes excellent. I did notice that in sport mkde it's so damn slow, is this normal?
So i see, there is some problems then. Has someone try this 3.5" mod with stock motors? that would be interesting test.
Great review bro👌
Thanks dude 😊
Hopefully the avata 2 is something like this.
Looks like the only thing we need now is for the 3d printer people to create a new battery lock piece modified for this frame. Do you suppose a Velcro strap might work?
Have you checked hard if the tumble issue is solved after the conversion? Thanks
hi, just received my upgrade kit after cracking the original frame. i need help in installing the it. some help please. Great video!
Subscribed. Would love to know how the battery does when you are just slow cruising in airmode
Thanks 😊. Yea ill get out and do some more testing over the weekend 🤙
I hate to tell you this but lol can you do a damage text! Lol. My Nevada hit concrete at 40 mph and yet I'm still flying no damage I'm curious if the kit is as robust? Thank you excellent video
Mikey
Hi mikey, I doubt the ducts on this axis frame are quite as durable as the stock avata... however... they are only about 10 dollars a set and they are actually easier to replace than the stock avata ducts. Can change the whole ducts in less than 5 mins. I'm sure at some point I will crash it and test 🤣
Nice video man :) I´ve upgraded my avata with the axis 35 kit and besides a downward vision sensor error it´s flying very well. Just noticed that I often get the motors "overload" message even when I´m in Normal mode. Could it be related to the sensor not working (ordered a new one)? Great thanks for your help
I regularly still fly mine. I hardly ever get motor overload warnings. If its not the sensor causing the warnings... it could be a bad solder joint on the motor wiring? How do you find it now? I love it!
hi buddy have you ever done a firmware upgrade while having this mod installed I've got a pesky warning on the screen no fault of the mod, I want to try refresh the firmware not sure if this will impact it
Parece más ligero!!
It's actually heavier... but... yes it definitely flies like its lighter! Its a massive improvement in the way It flies!
Did you get any motor overload messages throughout the flight. I installed mine and within a minute had an overloaded motor message?
Yea I have had some motor overload warnings. But I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure the esc can handle it... its probably just that dji have set the overload warning quite low and the new motors exceed that level. But I dont think it will harm the esc at all.
The biggest issue potentially is the batteries are by all accounts a low c rating. And after a good session with the avata the batteries often come down pretty damn warm! So that would be what I would take note of more than anything
Hello... did the stabilized flight modes continue to work normally as well?
Hi, yes all stabilised modes work as they should. But you will see the ducts in the video on most occasions... this conversion only suits manual flight mode
Is the avata your primary drone now or do you still use your custom drones?
I have had many many fpv quads. But currently have cinebot 30 6s, defender 25, and flywoo explorer lr4 (all 03) and obviously the avata. Out of all of them I fly the defender 25 and the avata mainly. I like proximity stuff with the odd bit of freestyle. But the avata woth this new frame and motors flys incredibly well on my first impressions
I’m not sure changing the antennas from vertical to horizontal is a good idea. Mine seems less range I had first rth. I am thinking about making a vertical mount like the original. Also the usb is so slow transfer, especially with a large SD card. I ordered 3cm ribbon usb 3.1 cable to help this issue.
Yea I also thought range was affected. So I took the foam out and zip tied them on (and double sided tape) seems to have improved it I think.
I didn't use the supplied USB extension. I just sanded a neat grove out of the duct so I plug straight into the usbc on the avata
@@FPV-TV419 Here you go :)

I am working on the cover so its like the original, orientation is corrected and antenna is protected. :). When I am done I will put it on thingiverse, do you have a 3d printer?
@GenCode FPV oh cool! I'll have a look now. Unfortunately I dont. But I can find someone who does! Thanks 😁
@@FPV-TV419 it’s not ready still working on it, I will let you know ruclips.net/video/FL85t09Lbuw/видео.html
I did a range test and it went much further than last time.
You didn’t change the motor? You use the stock motor?
Sorry I should have said that ... yes I upgraded the motors to axis flying c157-2 motors
Awesome clip bro. Where did u get this kit from👊
Thanks man 😊. I ordered direct from axis .. only took a few days to arrive.
@Fpv-tv thx man appreciate it. Must order one as stock avata is not good for sharp turns 😕 just lost my battery today as drone flew away and hit the tree top 😅
@Jacek Denis the avata still has some of the same quirks... it doesn't like being touched or knocked into anything whilst flying.. nothings ever going to sure that apart from dji. But the axis frame kit just transforms it into an absolute animal compared to stock. Very stable, doesn't wobble around like the old frame. Maybe its not going to please everyone. But anyone who wants to be able to fly their avata harder.... this kit is for them
@@FPV-TV419 all I did was a sharp turn with roll and avata flicked in normal mode and flew away with "impact detected" on screen then into the tree
how can u get this kit and with the frame and motors? is it hard to install ?
So long as you can solder.. you can do it. Just take your time and make notes and photos along the way of wiring etc...
how much does it weigh now that it has the carbon fiber?
I haven't weighed it myself yet.... I think its more than the stock avata ... but not a lot more
Where can i buy this kit or where can i make this update for my Avata?
Axis flying Web site 👌
you can test with GoPro
I actually prefere just to use the 03 on all my quads. But... I will do a test with the go pro tomorrow 😉. Btw good job Axis! Flies very very well!
@@FPV-TV419 Thanks so much.
I bought the kit and some m3 1507 3750kv motors are these ok before I install them please help
Hi, I'm not sure what the axis motors are... I didn't look as I just order their motors anyway ...
This frame works only with C157-2 motors which can be bought together from their website you have to choose from the drop menu which kit you want.
Where can i buy the kit in the uk please?
As far as I know you can only order from axis direct. But mine arrived only 2 days after it was dispatched! Dpd express or something I picked.
How fast did it go?
I didn't actually look 😳... i was rushing because of the rain. I'll try and get out this weekend an do another test video showing speed, cruising battery test, and check all features still work as they should... rth, pause button etc (I'm sure they do though)
Meh…kinda pointless to “upgrade” why not build your own or buy a cinelog 35 or protek 35. To each there own I suppose.
I have a cinebot 30 6s .. which flies amazing. But I've always been a fan of the avata, mainly because of its many features that other cinewhoops don't have.. as much as I'm an avata fan... it was lacking in the flying dept. But this fixes that for sure! At some expenses admittedly. But I'm impressed in any case
not pointless if your into getting shots that benefit from altitude hold, and a gimbal with tilt control
When I bought avata didn't know it is doing thumble. Now is just repairing faulty drone. Know they released firmware upgrade to fix it but not always works so decided to downgrade it, bought axis motors and 4x4 hq props- better but thumble still persisted a bit. Now looks like its gone so better for me to pay like over 100e and have good drone with 5 batteries than spending 1000+ for geprc mark5 for example... Which I will eventaually lol😊
Still tumbles. Useless. Sorry...
Don't be sorry... each to their own
