    Just received my Tern today! I have a Diatone Roma 4 that never did work properly. I finally ripped all of the gps stuff off and now have it as a ripper. It would take 15 minutes to get a lock if ever and this new thing locks in mere seconds. Finally a long range quad that works!

      Awesome mate! Yea I'm loving the naz f4 at the mo! It's a strong cinematic cruiser, but if u get bored, it also rips hard!
      Yea the gps works quite well on the front. I'm not likely to use a separate camera on it so it's fine there.
      This spot was north Wales, near bala. Not far from me... its generally pretty quiet early morning and literally nothing for miles around ha.

    Curious if it can fly with 6s 3000mah li-ion. Has huge motors might be high amp draw

    Nice comparison. Not sure though what's the sense of a 4" above 250g over a 5". Love both my Nazgul Evoque 5D and the Flywoo Explorer 4.
    Did they ship with BF 4.5? iFlight still hasn't released a CLI 4.4 for the Nazgul 5 (at least I can't find it) so this would give hope for the future for 4.5...

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. There's probably no real benefit to the 4 over the 5 inch other than physical size. I'm a fan of smaller quads. If there's people nearby, I think the more they look like a toy, the less attention it draws.
      The tern shipped with 4.5
      The Naz is only 4.5 as I loaded rc1 onto it and set the quad up manually. NOT doing a cli dump from earlier versions. It flies well, but there is a fluttering under hard turns etc. But I dont know enough about tuning to fix that. But I dont think it's an issue as it flies great! Motors stay cool

    • @seb-depp
      @seb-depp 5 месяцев назад

      @@FPV-TV419 Thanks for your answer.
      When I asked support last year about 4.4 for the Nazgul they said "the boss doesn't like 4.4". Hope he likes 4.5!

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад +1

      @seb-depp 😆.... I think the issue is its a lot of work to build a new fw version for existing quads every time a new version of bf is released. Likely more chance of finding an approved version in the presets tab in bf.
      But... its not actually hard or time consuming to load a stock version of bf (4.5 for example) and then manually configure that. All I do is take photos of all tabs, all settings including pids, rates, filter settings. And then manually input them to the newest version.
      The reason a cli dump is not recommended is if and setting names are changed between versions, the newer version won't recognise the settings your trying to import from the previous cli dump (as well as other reasons).
      But if there are NEW settings in betaflight that weren't on the previous versions then I leave those as stock. This probably isn't the absolute best thing to do. However if you flash a completely stock version of bf to a fc ... it will fly, and it will fly pretty well. It just might be a bit slack on the tune.
      I'm no bf expert at all.... but I've done exactly this with the nazgul f4 and so far it's working perfectly. Still has the exact tune that I flight sent it out with.

    • @seb-depp
      @seb-depp 5 месяцев назад

      @@FPV-TV419 Maybe once the final version is out and iFlight doesn't react.
      I never got why the BF devs don't build a translation tool: Read settings, flash, translate and write settings. They are the ones who know what has changed. Should be much easier than building a cloud build system...

  • @msulkey

    Nice comparison. Would you recommend the babyhawk o3 or this GEPRC tern LR4 for a Sub 250 basic basher? I already have the flywoo Explorer LR4 which is great for cruising.

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks man. Well... I rate the tern far superior to the explorer. However, if you already have the explorer and your after something to bash around, I would definitely get the babyhawk! The babyhawk will take a lot more abuse than the tern due to its frame design. I'd be shocked if anyone ever manages to break a baby hawk frame.

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks dude 😊. Well I owned the axis avata for a long time! And in the time I had it... I loved it! Mainly for the failsafe features I suppose. But its quite slow... so it depends what your filming really. I'm really liking the 4inch quads at the mo!
      Neither of them really fly like the avata... they are more agile, faster, better tuned for how I'm flying in this video. But that doesn't mean I'm not a fan of the avata/axis. I just sold it as dji have a new fpv drone on the horizon with 04..... so making room for that when ever it arrives 😉

    How about nazgul f4 compare to geprc domain 4.2 inch?

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I cant comment on the geprc domain as I don't have that quad. But... I suspect you wouldn't tell much of a difference between the 2 quads with regards to how they fly. The tune might be slightly different on each of them. I'd say it's all down to which you prefere the look of. Personally I love the look of the domain. But I think the f4 offers a little more robust protection with the side plates. I'm a big fan of the side plates as it makes it suitable to fly in light rain for a short time should you need to. And keeps all the electronics safe and dirt free.
      So... geprc for looks. And Nazgul for build and durability. That's my personal opinion

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад

      It was a very still day , which is not normal for the UK 😆. But I suspect I also would get shakey footage in the dvr if it was breezy, it's so light it just can't travel through the wind like a heavier quad

      @DoktorSkill 5 месяцев назад

      @@FPV-TV419 yea but i got a feeling that my o3 camera is just not tightened in the inner part because i get that shaky live feed and DVR when theres not much wind too.
      Some Videos on youtube show that sometimes you need to take it apart and tighten those 4 screews that hold the main part to the housing of the camera.
      Have to try tomorrow. If it does, i fly my Babyhawk o3 to see if it has it too (to see if its the quad)

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад

      @DoktorSkill I have done a video on the 03 loose lens issue. I had one that had that issue. I actually applied a small drop of superglue on mine. Worked perfectly. But let the glue dry properly before putting the camera back together or the glue vapours can leave a stubborn white residue on the surrounding plastic.
      If you have this issue... its likely the factory glue has failed on the lens cover. So you have to remove the pcb (4 screws) and re glue the lens cover.

      Hi, yes you can so long as you get the dji version ( pnp) so this will have the correct wiring between the fc and the air unit. If you buy one with a different receiver , tbs, elrs etc... the air unit won't come with the wiring to use the dji fpv 2 radio. And yes v2 goggles will work also. Not sure if your in the UK or not so couldn't say where to purchase from

    • @FPV-TV419
      @FPV-TV419  5 месяцев назад +1

      @Robbzfpv There's lots of places to buy from in the UK. Unmanned tech, hobby rc just to name a couple. I'm 99% sure its the pnp version you'll need, but it will say in the advert if it's compatible with the dji fpv radio. If your not sure just phone them and ask.
      You'll need a lipo charger and batteries too. But these can then be used with other quads you buy in the future of course.
      If your flying manual, and your bored of the dji fpv, then you will love the nazgul f4! My advice is to fit a gps module though. Around £30 for the module I have and it just plugs into the flight controller so no soldering required. Worth taking the time to learn how to set it up (it's not difficult, plenty of you tube videos out there). I always fit a gps module if possible as I always want the chance to get it back should anything go wrong whilst flying

    4inch is the best size prop to fly in public areas. The noise doesn't give people a sense of concern and if anything stirs curiosity. I wish more brands would work with a 4 inch model. The sad thing is that when they do they make these nonsense long range frame that are made to break because of the asymmetrical design with a higher chance of breaking.

    • @FPV-TV419

      I agree that 4 inch quads are a great size! Unless you specifically require the extra power a 5 inch has, or need to carry a heavy action cam, the 4 inch is a great all rounder!
