    Thank you for sharing this video. I recently purchased the Axisflying DJI 3.5 kit and decided to perform the upgrade yesterday. I must admit that the upgraded drone flies differently and feels more powerful compared to the original airframe, motors, and propellers. It is an excellent product, with only one minor issue: the supplier forgot to include the action camera 40mm standoff in the package. As a result, I had to use some standoffs that I had on hand.

    hey, if you put bigger blades and more powerful motors than the original ones, i guess it will need less force, and the blades will spin slower to keep the drone stable?

    Have you been able to quantify this change?

    This tutorial could have used some more love. Steps were left out like the metal plate in the frame and the motors are shipped with cables that are too long so they need to be trimmed to size. Wasted a bunch of time going back because I know the drone is going to be larger but I don't know how long the cables should be.
    Would have been smart to get all the soldering done at the same time too.

      Did you fix this issue? I am having the same problem after installation. Propellors seem to spin exactly in the opposite direction of the original Avata. When i mount the propellors so they are pushing air down, when the Avata lifts off it gets in to a crazy yaw spin and flies away uncontrollable.....

    • @leonardothillet6423
      @leonardothillet6423 6 месяцев назад

      @@chagay yes I had mounted them in the wrong orientation, they are props in (meaning the lead side of the prop should ve spinning in) with the bulged side of the prop facing up. If you are getting an out of control yaw spin, it means all the props are in the wrong direction. So try that.

    • @chagay
      @chagay 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@leonardothillet6423 I figured it out:
      The motors should spin exactly like they did on the original avata. I wired all motors wrong, the 3 wires were inverted, hence i needed to mount the props exactly opposite of the original avata. Essentially making the avata think it was flying upside down....
      After rewiring all motors, they turned the right direction and my axisflying avata took off correctly and hovered perfectly.

    this mod is stupid, it blocks the SD card slot. did you guys even think before you designed this?

  • @freshcoastfpv

    What is the point? If you have gone this far you might as well just build your own custom Cinewhoop like a shendrone. Lol 😂

    • @alex-m-jones
      @alex-m-jones Год назад +3

      The point is that a lot of people spent money already on the Avata not knowing that it had a design flaw and could fall out of the sky, now you can upgrade it to help prevent that

    • @freshcoastfpv
      @freshcoastfpv Год назад +1

      @@alex-m-jones it’s a Cinewhoop there’s no design flaw it’s not made to fly like a race Fpv . The prop wash does this with any whoop with a propwash . It’s simple aerodynamics . Take the guards off and it will fly pretty fast with out a roll over. Anyone that builds fpvs knows this.

      @@alex-m-jones fly it slowly with zero wind turbulence like how a Cinewhoop is basically design for and you won’t get roll over. I think avatas design flaw is the gps that doesn’t always work when flying indoors, it’s crap

    • @alex-m-jones
      @alex-m-jones Год назад +2

      @@freshcoastfpv No you’re wrong about this, I have had it flip over on me going nearly straight and then getting hit by a little gust of wind.. Pretty much any other cinewhoop wouldn’t do that and the firmware fix dji released for it sucks because it doesn’t fix the problem it just kicks you out of manual mode and sometimes crashes anyways, or flies 100 feet in the air if you bump into something.. I don’t know about you but to me that’s a design issue.

      @@alex-m-jones I don’t care for the Avata I use custom built Cinewhoops and have been flying them for a long time now. I can’t really fly in wind because I get that prop wash. But I just use them for flying outdoors to indoors. Once I’m inside and there’s no wind or flys so much smoother. I think the avata itself is a complete joke , lol

    Hi everyone! After many difficulties to change to axis, I want to explain to you so that you avoid the same mistake as me!
    - avoid soldering the motors directly on the ESC, i burned my card because of that even though i was very delicate with my soldering. it's a very fragile esc. if you burn, contact dji, the customer service will sell you an esc (50€)
    - solder the motors in the same direction as those you remove. I made the mistake of soldering the motors in reverse so the drone did not take off but sucked the ground
    - be very careful when you remove the cables with pin of the camera and the gps module, it is very fragile and I broke a pin...
    - when you close the drone, be careful not to jam the gps cables, it can cut them ...

    The kit is horribly difficult to build ! No information on the length of wires, steps stupidly ordered, heat shrink diameter too small, etc. It is been prepared with rush just to be the 1st company to release such kit.
    I have build tons of quadcopters, this one is absolutely no fun to build.
    And why not proposing to conformal coating while disassembling ? It would help waterproofing.
