DO NOT DRIVE WITH NO AIRFILTER. 75 bucks K/N lifetime cleanable very breathable upgrade air filter. Makes a difference!
At LEAST run cheesecloth and wire mesh (track day only) .. This has been done for decades safely as long as you are covering no larger than a 5" hole.
To each his own! Exactly! I've gone, and still going nuts on a 2015 Durango RT. It weights more than the rams! Gonna try the intake trick next time I go to the track. Trying to hit the 12s naturally aspirated near sea level. Gotta do quite a bit more to hit it here in Vegas.
I left my air box in, K&N filter. I took the air box snorkel and rotated it down 90°. Pulls in more air than through the fender. Keeping it stock, Ram 1500 crew cab, Outdoorsman. Installed BBK Headers, and Flowmaster Outlaw stainless exhaust kit. I Don't run it down the track, my daily driver, but I work with drag racers. Seems like they are rubbing off on me. Lol.
You’d get much colder air by putting that cone filter into that box these things are engineered to get colder air from stock doing that with the air intake youre just getting a lot more engine bay hot air opposed to putting the cone filter inside of that box and sucking in the air from behind your headlight outside the engine bay.
man that sounds good !!! I imagine what it sounds like in person !!!
Thanx man it sounds 10x better in person imo
That cam sounds wonderful
#4 Mod to loose another 120 pounds weight, don't go to the track with a full tank of fuel. In fact on takeoff that liquid is thrown/sloshed to the rear causing a slight pull. I run a 1/8 tank and bring cans.
The general rule is 100lbs = around 1/10th of a second in the 1/4mile
With a 300 pound man ... “remove the 300 pound man”
Lol. Reminds me of I story once read....an old race driver told his guys he needed 50 pounds taken out of the car. He weighed north of 300 pounds and one of his mechanics told him to lose 50 pounds.
Hahaha
🤣i feel attacked
Lol
To get really fast times at the track remove Hood, doors, bed, cab, bumbers, all glass remove the driver set just use a bucket.
Oh yeah....destroy a truck while you at it
@@robertzajkowski9570 if you ain't first you're last
Don't forget to add a skinny driver...😁
Yea and he can go on a diet to 😂😂
Can't wait for you be at the track again
Me either man I i can't wait to race again
Agree removing the clutch fan is definitely noticeable easily 10-15 hp. Not huge but anything helps. I did the V6 direct plug and play with 180 stat looks like factory. My Ram Rt is running cool and also mpg's go up with clutch fan delete.
Yea im getting mpgs than I was stock also
Sounds like a badass big block! Nice man👍
3:41 it would be better if yall just get a hi flow air filter. Cheaper than a cold air intake and you can hot rod it in town without worrying about your intake sucking in dirt and stuff
I'm wearing headphones and my teeth are rattling. That's doin it justice......LOL.
Nothing like the sound of a Hemi booting up.....whenever and wherever.
The first Hemi I worked on was in a 57 New Yorker convertible with a 392 Hemi (factory).
That was a heavy beast but that Hemi made it haul. 16's stock and 13's with the super charger.
Funny as hell watching the old 392 in a big car keep pace with the stock 340 Swingers turning mid to high 13's.
Good vid bro! I really like these they are great for intro racers
Thanx man i do what I can to help others and try to get the best content for you guys
@@IncredibleHemi1111 your doin great bro keep it up 💪🍻 my Durango is almost finished
Nice bro
@@IncredibleHemi1111 I'm excited as all get out! Lol
Cold intake is in wrong place , should be pointing downwatd to pavement away from engine bay , second the spare tire , remove it from truck ,Lighter wheels can go faster because there is less weight to control. They'll help you speed up your acceleration while decreasing the time it takes you to come to a full stop.Lighter Rims=More Wheel HP. I go with Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S Tires. add 10 gallon fuel tank , make sure your tank is on empty extra weight . go to the body shop add hood scoop with fan suck the hot air out of engine bay . little things make diffrence . some of these i have done to my 2016 dodge ram 1500 , i got bigger throttle body on it , and thinking about adding turbo to it . You got save money as you go . the sound comming from engine front end raising up on green light , it makes life worth living . Cops hate me
Lol when i saw the tittle i said to myself "hes gonna tell people to take out the air filter". And yeah it helps. I did that to my mitsubishi l200 when i was 18 waaaay back in 1997 .. luckily didnt bork my engine i drove like that for a year
Brother, in your opinion who is the best custom tuner? I have a Diablo I3 Platinum tuner. I own a 2007 ram 1500 SLT 4x4 4 door with (used to be) a 5.7l. I have bored and stroked it to 397ci with molnar 4.080 crank, 6.125 I-beam rods, and CP Eagle pistons (9.6cc dish) and installed an Inertia cam (I have cam specs). MDS delete, Eagle heads, and will be installing the 6.4L intake manifold and some sort of CAI. I have 392 injectors, pacesetter long tube headers, no cats, and a pacesetter 3" Y pipe. Tranny is the 545rfe with a Transgo valve body and Sonnax RFE-LB1 line pressure booster. I would like to adjust shift points, MDS delete from the ECM, raise speed and rev limiters, and adjust for tire size (35x12.50x18). Can you suggest a custom tuner? Is it better to find a local dyno shop and have them tune it? I'm in the Dallas area. Thanks!
Does it have a stall and anything done to trans? Thinking about cam package from TSP but I heard greene where it’s at.
What does your truck weigh after dumping the excess weight. My 2012 bighorn 4 door 4 wd full interior with a cap and gear in the bed weighs in at 6250 with driver.
#4 show up to dragstrip with 4 gallons fuel in the tank. Bring full 5 gal can to get to gas station after. Roughly 8 lb per gallon of fuel for each gallon not put in.
You should get a sport hood for you truck and a pair of smoked projector headlamps and your truck will look much cooler ! Just my opinion !
Yes there are after market electric fans . They dont take long to install. Yes aprox 8-11ish hp extra
Sounds sick man.
Omm that bit choppin 🤣 @1:13
Thumbs up just for the cold start!
Thanx man
What part of jersey are you from? Been keeping the eye on these tracks, hope to catch ya one day.
When I was a police officer (retired 10+ years ago), I had a partner who would remove the air filter from our crown vic and toss it in the trunk at the beginning of the shift... Though he always put it back on just before off duty roll call... I gave him so much 💩 for it, too.
I think the best realistic and cheap mod you have is the long tube headers... So jealous as my cast iron manifolds already have a broken stud with only 72000km (45000 miles)
If u get a tune with long tubes you will gain some serious power
that truck is just fu***ng sick....i love that badass truck.
Thanx boss
Thanks as always for the ideas.
No problem boss
Get after fan. The higher the rpms the faster it spins and bends to create less drag requiring lass power from the engine
This sounds badass could you tell me what mods u have
Any suggestions to add power and speed to a 2005 dodge ram daytona
a few more free mods if you are really trying to break records. drain 2 quarts of oil out, remove rear brakes and rotors and plug the lines, remove serpentine belt (for the pass only), remove sway bars and front shocks, remove entire exhaust system, remove fan like you said and as long as you have a 180 thermostat with or without tune it wont get hot at least in my experience even when towing, 80psi of air in the front tires and normal in the rear.
I msde this just for the basically stock to mildly modified guys
Ole Schooler
What about no thermostat?
@@josepimp404 a lot of times with no thermostat you’ll find that the water will be moving too fast and it will take a long time to heat up. when it does finally heat up the water won’t be staying in the radiator long enough to cool off and it will run hot. In most cases anyway. I won’t say every vehicle will respond that way but that’s been my experience.
@D E I guess every bit of weight counts but Iv always heard the older crowd at the drag strip say it makes the oil run hotter which will make less oil pressure causing the oil pump not to drag the motor quite as hard. Although since I made this comment 2 years ago my friend who owns a race engine shop dynoed a motor with a stock oil pump and swapped it for a high volume pump and it made no difference. So that 2 quarts low thing is just a myth. However you would loose 3.5 pounds by removing the 2 quarts if you consider that to be worth anything lol
Swapping the mechanical fan for an electrical fan is one of the best mods. Also remove the mechanical fan cover off the rad
@John Oates well it’s up to you, I personally don’t like it.
Nice!! Thx
Anyway I can help
I have a 2013 regular cab Ram with the 4.7 6 spd trans. chrome bumpers . I'm thinking of getting a Ram 5.7 hemi or Ram 2500 6.4 hemi.. Wondering if I should get the computer with wiring harness for the swap? I plan on installing the Comp. 220 intake 230 exhaust at 0.50 cam. Getting valve springs, home porting the heads home porting the intake manifold. Probably headers too in the swap. I'm not thinking about changing the torque converter. Can't find anything on 4.7 cams or headers for my year of engine. Didn't know it when I got it. A new truck sounds like to much money but it's an option.
That's weird bro i have a 2013 and its fitted with a 5.7
Excellent thx 👍👍
Good vid bro
Thans bro
Can you tell me what’s the name of the 2 inch drop you did ?
I started going to the gym and changed my diet so I weigh less and go faster at the track it's a pretty good tip don't you think
Did you just swap cam? Link to the cam?
Any other mods required to just swap cam
I knew diesel guys when I had my 6.0 powerstroke (2016 ram now) that would take off the entire air intake setup and run two pieces of screen (like from a porch) over the throttle body with a hose clamp. Much better flow and the screen stopped larger debris if need be. They swore by it when racing. Electric fan kits aren't that steep on price but fitment is sometimes fun...if you're making a ton of runs and running it as a daily driver...electric fan may be the more economical and time conserving method...save frustration too with taking that fan off and on. You could also get into wrapping your headers and shit to drop engine bay temps...but that wrap ain't cheap and requires patience unless you take em off first.
gonna try this thanks a lot for the great info
I’m gonna do this to my truck. But not for the track. I’m gonna just leave it that way. And skip the the screen because it’s does infact constrict air flow and adds extra weight in the engine bay.
Dude, I dig your channel. Please get a tri-pod for your camera. Please.
Will these mods work on gen 2 5.9 liter V8 200q dodge ram 1500
What year manifold does work on A 5.7 hemi 04 ?
What exhaust are you running on there?
I just got a 2019 RAM 1500 Lonestar. Can someone give me a list of what parts/kits I need to up the horsepower. Not a drag truck, just a fast ass highway truck. I’m thinking supercharger, K&N cold air induction kit, flomaster exhaust/high performance CATS, super chip…anyone know of a list with the recommended choices for these things or alternative mods?
Can’t wait for the TRX debut !
Yea me either
Nice Video I Have a 2014 Ram 1500 Larmey fully loaded I have Trinity T1000 and K&N air intake do you know someone that can send me a custom tune for my setup?
I like your intake its a 6.4 right?
I want hangout with only RAM owners you know wassup sir thanks for the video 😎
The first modification could I install a fan in there to blow air
Recommend a cam for 2020 1500 hemi bighorn....
hey man i have a 2005 Rumble Bee. It has a 5.7 in it. I was just wondering where I could get a ported intake for it. I looked on MMX and they only sell for 2009+ and HHP doesn’t sell any for it. Any help?
I don't know if there is one
Get with Matt at Moe's. He can probably still get a ported 3rd gen one
I just added a circle d to my 2005 Ram this week. 2800-3000 stall
The goonsquad has a black hellcat for sale that you might be able to pick up pretty cheap
Who is the goonsqaud
Incredible Hemi they are another RUclips channel they rebuild wrecked and salvaged cars I figured that they might help you out being that you’re another RUclips channel and they would get to see their car on RUclips 😃
Does this work for a 2011 ram? Plz let me know
Do you still have the back seats
I also put in a v6 electric fan. Comes with shroud
I put in a 180 stat and it tripped a check engine light. It was coolant not up to temperature. How did u stop that light from coming on?
I never had that happen
Okay, all kidding aside... I just picked up an '02 RAM 1500, don't plan on tracking it, so definitely not ripping out the interior, etc... But I would like to do a couple things that boost the power slightly without really making it thirstier. It's bad enough! LOL
I WOULD like to increase the power enough to get decent burnouts, not for smoking tires but for better pulling power when my trailer is hooked up.
What kind of low cost ideas do you have---better flowing air filter, etc..?
This is the outgoing generation and nothing incoming generation in 20O2. Thanks!
do the fan, mid muffler delete, drop in filter, and some good maintenance
How do you disable the rev limiter ?
Any of the shirts and sweaters in woman? And other coolers?
Another good cheap mod is take that old air box off get a conical filter and a hose clamp and put it on the stock down tube
That is true
@@IncredibleHemi1111 I won't say it's a power adder but I'd def helped with my Diablo tune...
All the stuff your tearing off the vehicle I have a 2008 Dodge ram 3500 with the cummins in it and I was having problems cause I need to get my heater core fixed so I took the thermostat out engine runs a lot cooler
Did you or do you have the hemi tick?
How much power does this thing make
Got a 2006 lift, love it. Giving it to my son. He’s 12 and getting a Cummings.
DODGE the bf RAM his gf
What up with wheel hope on the 2019 tradesmen classic?
4 bar rear end... Pretty normal to get the hop
Nice video
Thank you sir
Taking the tailgate off will cost you drag. It alters the aerodynamics and not for the better.
This was proved on myth busters years ago ur right
Take the tailgate off and use it to make a mold to make a fiberglass shell and fill it with expanding foam. I'm fiberglassing the fenders, hood, replacing rear bumper with roll pan, add bed cover, and battery relocation to bed. I don't hit the strip but I like to troll.
Got one of your hats...lvit!
What suspension ??? You have
Does a 1994 Chevy k1500 Silverado z71 have a cabin filter
No. Mine didnt to old.
What exhaust is that
You could make your runs with low fuel just enough to get down the track
LklCW ?cp1f z 0
My 3.7 has a clutch fan and second dan for ac
U need turn off skid. And change gears?
im a life long ram guy, I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING ANY OF THIS... its just like saying those bumper stickers add 5 hp each comon get real
All snake oil mods
I need a good badass Dodge mechanic?
Put it in 8th gear and turn off skid in snow off many ways to mker fast. U can download BDS and plug it in under Neath legs. There is 5000 modes all Free. One I thought was neat changes your ideal sounds like a song. But becarfull what u touch in there. And put nos threw it.
Put your hemi truck in 4x4 hold down tc button for 10 seconds it will turn off the esc system too play in the snow and mud but will turn back on at 45 and of course low 4x4 turns off esc automatically
How did you lower the rear 2 inches?
Reverse the rear springs and add rubber spacers
ur gonna wanna take them fog lights out to keep more airflow on ur engine. at least when driving around
Good recommendations for a track truck only, not your daily. As ocd as you are about stripping all the unnecessary weight, im surprised to see you're a king size snickers bar. Just an observation, good vid 👌
this just smells like Jersey..... add tow mirrors, that'll give you another 30 HP 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You should see the triple blade wipers in NY, 65HP easy
That literally made me laugh out loud. Yes I lived in NJ so it makes it even funnier
Drag running a stock automatic MOPAR is RISKY LOL
Can you please send sounds of this truck to my email? God I love this thing!
I'll get u some I've just been really busy with work n family
Doesn’t look like you have your maf sensor hooked up to your engine! Looks like it’s on the floor board of your rear seat! Lol
Whats your top speed on the ram 🐏???
What Headers are Best for the 2004 5.7L Shorts or Longs And Exhaust System? Muffler Or No Muffler ?
Long tube headers are always better for flow. Shorts you'll rarely feel a difference over stock manifolds.
What muffler are you running
I have mbrp catback for everyday use n open cutout for the track
Only run 2 gal of gas in the tank at the strip. @ 8 pounds each X 26 gal.
I bought a spectre c.a.i kit and it silenced my exhaust.. immediately hated it.
Wouldn’t taking the tailgate off make your truck slower because air drag
Yes, it actually does increase drag. Tonneau cover would probably be a more efficient option.
Imagine if you lost weight you’d have a 9 second truck 😂
Door pannels too!!!
How about removing the spare tire under the bed if you havent.
Why would you take the stock cold air off and install a hot air intake. Haha
I take off all the body panels and smash all my windows before going to the track who f****** needs them
