Your video quality looks much better than many others who reviewed the Action 5. Is it because you lowered the sharpness in the camera? Your footage looks soft and beautiful, while others’ are overly sharp.
It’s hard to put that sensor in it because the minimal focus distance would be further and the sensor requires more power, so the form factor would have to be bigger. But if they pull it off it def would be so sick
It really makes no sense to put an 1" sensor in an action cam. You would either deal with a unusable minimum focus range or you have to use auto focus as in the Pocket 3. And auto focus and action cam is not a good idea. You will never see much larger sensors in action cams due to the physical restrictions there. And regardless of this even if you accomplis this feat you would still deal with a soft background. Something that is not good for action cameras where you like to show your surroundings. Having moving elements in a action cam for focusing does also not sound like a sensible thing to do. I have both: The Action 5 and the Pocket 3. The Action is used on my bike packing trips where it's plausible that the cam will get in touch with the elements - sand, wind, water. For all normal stuff Pocket 3 every day.
They will never put the 1” sensor on the action camera unless they want to discontinue the pocket. The pocket would be pointless to buy then if you have a 1” action camera that’s capable of everything.
Great video! Do you mind linking some of the rigging attachments you mentioned in the video (i.e. the car suction and the one you used during the time lapse)?
Absolutely love this video. I was on the edge of wanting to return it but I’ll hold out and using the settings you displayed I can see a difference so I’m stoked. Thanks for the honest review
If you're not doing action, or taking your camera in rough dangerous places, get the Pocket 3, the mechanical stabilization, superior image quality and moving gimbal makes it a far better streaming/vlogging camera. Now if you go high speed, near water, sand, dust or mud, Action 5 pro is your camera.
I agree for the most part, but I have the Action 5 Pro and use the Pocket 3 for work, and both are honestly good, and if you're on a really tight budget and need something still "pro-sumer", definitely pick up the Action 5 Pro. I use it for most video, and lightly graded using D-LogM, it's awesome what you can pull from this thing. Plus DJI is going to upgrade the firmware to allow higher birate video so you can get even higher quality video out of it.
Great review, want to congratulate you on the actual quality of your video, there are 1 million subs channels that are not even close to your quality, you going far bro
For me, the reason why I buy it is because it's able to record a wireless mic without a receiver while also recording the internal audio inside the camera. There's no mirrorless cameras or other cameras that can do that. Now why would I want this? Sometimes when I'm travelling, I'm recording stuff around me while talking to the camera on a wireless mic, but then someone in front of me will say something. If i'm using the wireless Mic, their voice won't really come through, but if I also have a copy of the camera mic audio, then I can cut to that and the audio will be clearer. To achieve this on a mirrorless camera, you would have to just record the audio separately so that way you have both audio files and then sync it in post, but I just don't like the workflow as much as the DJI can. Also, mirrorless cameras are great if you're stationary, but once you start walking, the stabilization is just no match for an action camera. Lastly, the form factor. When I was in Latin America, I didn't see a single person using a mirrorless camera out in public. Why? It draws way too much attention and you will become a target. When I was there, I walked around with my Action 3 and it barely got noticed. Even if it did get stolen, it wouldn't even be a big deal for me. I would care more about the footage on the camera than the actual camera itself.
I’m a potter and my pottery studio gets messy real quick. This is the best camera for this specifically as it can go underwater, get dirty and still run. Shoot and go
I already have a dji action 3 and that is my main camera I use for my travel videos. Now I am looking for an upgrade and very confused if I should go for another action camera i.e. dji action 5 pro or I should get my hands in the pocket 3?. Your thoughts and suggestion on this would be really helpful
As a motorcycle rider, having something so small, that can be stored into "Nooks and Crannies" is absolutely 100% all good with me! (Space for everything on a MC, is always a challenge!) A very enticing feature of the new Osmo 5 for me, is the way that 2 wireless DJI Mics can connected to the camera unit at the same time. Perfect for motorcycle vlogging, as you can now have 1 mic inside a helmet for commentary and the other mic set up to capture the sound of the bike itself, Brilliant! PS: What's your MC mate?
Absolutely what I was looking for when I clicked into the video. Amazing video! I am thinking to add this to my kit now for the special shots I can't do with my mirrorless camera
great video subscribed do you have any colour grading tips for the footage yours looks incredible and I record similar type views and situations to you.
I’ve just bought the action 5 Pro for my Mountain Bike videos. So far so good but I’m still trying different settings and mount options. The magnetic mount and menu system is great. Awesome review buddy. 😉
Those vlogging shot during day had some pretty bad stabilization jerks , was it because of the camera and how it work or maybe you are just holding the camera too casually?
could you tell me what settings were used for the face shots on the dji action 5 i just got mine today but just can’t seem to get it as crisp quality as your video
That'a a great review. I have one and i would like to add a new use for this action cam. I shoot weedings so a really fast pace shooting and i´ve mounted the Dji Osmo Action 5 Pro on top of my main camera so i can get a close up shot and a wide shot (with the osmo) and it's really good. Of course in low light situations it struggles a little bit but i always light the dance floor so it's not a really problem
yeah its not the best in low light but thats to be expected for all action cameras I believe! when the conditions are right, the camera is great though!
nah the action 5 pro definitely has better image quality than the 4 and once dji releases a few more updates for it it will definitely outperform the 4
Osmo pocket is a fab lil tech…..the action cam sucks….!! DJI …please leave action cams for GOPRO its not your field yet…or come up with something great instead of spending money on promotions…

Need a Insta360 Ace pro 2 Review from you and also a comparison video too, if possible
That depth of field at 02:26 with the pocket 3 is impressive
06:26 the audio of the dji mic doesn’t sound very rich. Did you update the firmware in June/July? They released a significant update
I’ll wait for the Osmo Action 6 and maybe they’ll put the Pocket 3 sensor on it. The upgrades on the Action 5 are minimal to the Action 4.
Not a bad idea! I haven't tested the camera side by side with the 4. But I heard the jump wasn't as large if you already owned the 4.
It’s hard to put that sensor in it because the minimal focus distance would be further and the sensor requires more power, so the form factor would have to be bigger. But if they pull it off it def would be so sick

@ I‘m still not Shure if it’s technically sensibel to even try creating an real 1” action cam 😂😂😂

Agree I have both of them. Both have its own unique use cases.
the high quality content goes so hard. thank you, fr contemplating this as we speak
Great quality video! Love the studio!
Awesome production quality you're spitting out. This is the best footage I've seen from the Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Great review, want to congratulate you on the actual quality of your video, there are 1 million subs channels that are not even close to your quality, you going far bro
loved the nooks and cranny part lol
i love my new action 5 but the gopro windshield mount with the ball swivel is a much smaller profile.
love the quality of the review! keep going!
Awesome video man, I think you can totally post these videos to your main channel and no one would even bat an eye
You sold me on this camera, thanks!
I have 4 osmo 3’s lol. Now I want to get an action 5 because of this video.
you should do a storefront with the gear you use! or a video of recommended gear i’ve been looking for a video😭

Why the heck you have only 500 subs, such a great video we'll done keep it up ❤
Ok now im convinced to buy the action 5 pro:) thank you for this vid!
Thanks Edward. Fellow motovlogger here in Scotland, coming off my now sold trusty OA3 which was solid. Torn between 4 and 5 . Subbed ! Thanks
If you can get a killer deal on the 4, it might not be a bad option!

Great video! I heard the 5 can connect to MC intercoms. I see that you ride with a coms, have you tried to connect the helmet to the 5?
Thanks for the review! You told me everything to the point! 👏
Keep up the great work!
Really loved this video❤
I’m wondering which camera do you use for this video?
It looks great! I just ordered it yesterday . Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
Great video as always Ed. Love the authenticity 03:10
Got mine this week, excited to test it out.

i don't need the Action 5 Pro, but i needed a second Action 4!
Those vlogging shot during day had some pretty bad stabilization jerks , was it because of the camera and how it work or maybe you are just holding the camera too casually?
It was mainly his shutter speed. I think he was probably on the 180° shutter rule which can affect stabilization
ohh yeah maybe it was my shutter. I stayed at 1/50 shutter and 24fps for most of these clips.
@@edwardleefilms2then it makes sense. Action cameras suck at low shutter speeds!
молодец мужик очень по Русски. искренний выпуск
Awesome video bro! Now I really wanna try this thing out and see how I like it vs my GoPros
You can borrow mine if you want to test it!
Can u include what settings for the shutter speed and and wb was set to?
1/50 shutter speed, 24fps, using an ND filter, and shooting in DLOG-M 10 Bit. I set my WB to auto.
amazing review!
could you tell me what settings were used for the face shots on the dji action 5 i just got mine today but just can’t seem to get it as crisp quality as your video
thank you for video. can we take a picture with it?

Good action camera. Only keeping me from buying is the door issue and low light.
new firmware of low light is much much better
Great honest review my friend!
thanks for watching!
I'm very happy with this camera
Aaayyyee Tacoma in the building! Great job man. Nice to see some more local folks on the YT scene!
Tacoma!!
Hi how is the low light performance ?
what is the body made of?
Why did u create a new channel if I may ask u?
❤❤❤
THE DJI lav mic actually sounds worse than I thought. I've noticed it's one of the stuffiest sounding options.
Hoodie brand?

Title sounds like a true question but it’s an advertisement
was that tacoma
Dare you to change your channel name to Nooks and Grannies for a week.
HAHAHA
Dude sold me on just using my phone as a camera. LOl
no, you dont need it! Get the action 4 adventure combo especially at this time because of the black friday sales!
The only reason I need it is to replace my GoPro that I hate
still osmo action 4 is a BETTER choice. Cheap and it can produce better video output.
nah the action 5 pro definitely has better image quality than the 4 and once dji releases a few more updates for it it will definitely outperform the 4
Nothing new ;)
Osmo action 5 lol

GP has been going down hill. Glad DJI and Insta is stepping up and doing great with their action cams. Competition and having choices is great!
