I second that... Saw STP in 2001 and it's still one of the best performances I've ever seen til this day. Edit: Footage from that very tour for anyone interested: ruclips.net/video/HuzuBnNsVTs/видео.html
I was not able to see STP on their last tour with Scott, but my buddy went and said he could see him as he walked off stage after they were done. Someone put a silk robe over his shoulders, another person lit a cigarette and gave it to him, and he put a chick under each arm. Scott Weiland was every bit a FUCKING ROCKSTAR by definition
Saw STP in Anaheim summer of 2000 at the Weenie Roast. There were about 12 or more bands that played from 1pm to 1am with a revolving circular stage to avoid intermissions. Scott came out dressed as Gwen Stefani who was also there, in a black skin tight gown. As everyone chanted No Doubt, he danced around for a minute and then sang into the megaphone. “I AM SMELLING LIKE A ROSE THAT SOMEBODY GAVE ME ON MY BIRTHDAY DEATHBED”. When the drums kicked in he threw the pink wig into the crowd and proceeded to blow everyone away! Korn closed the show in epic fashion or so the acid would lead you to believe, haha. They were as good live as anyone live, when he was clean.
I was lucky enough to see Scott perform with STP three times and once while fronting Velvet Revolver. No one will ever have the stage presence that Scott did. At the State Fair in AZ one year he got completely naked and wrapped an American flag around himself to end the show. There will never be another Scott. RIP Brother 😢
What an absolute legend! Saw him perform with Velvet Revolver back in 2005 in Greece. Couldn't take my eyes off him, even though Slash was right in front of me. Amazing renditions of Guns N' Roses songs as well. Too much talent, too many demons though.
Scott was so full of charismatic antics on stage that’s what makes him interesting to watch. Now he’s joined Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Elvis oh and Chester.
Ryan Anthony I was working security for that show in Latrobe... I was the guy who held onto him as he leaned over the stage hanging over the audience when he dropped his microphone!!! Quite the jam!!!
Scott and Layne are Gods. Best Rock singers of all time. No one will ever compare to these two and never will. I'm lucky to have been old enough to see and hear both of these legends when they were alive.
All the singers mentioned in this thread are awesome but I gotta throw Vedder in the mix. I think he’s underrated. He actually had a great scream and his vocals got even better after he ditched the super deep baritone that so many copied.
Was lucky enough to see them twice. Once WAY back in 92 or something when Core came out. They actually opened for Megadeth. People hated them but I remember being super impressed. Second time was a decade later when Cheap Trick opened for them. Amazing shows the both of them.
Saw them in el Paso tx over 10 yrs ago in the reunion tour (farewell), stuck my hand out with some cheap sunglasses and Scott Weiland grabbed them put them on for a few minutes during his performance and threw them back... STP forever
Dude, STP aren't indie.... Alternative at most but even then they seemed more Hard Rock with a bit of Glam and Neo Psychedelia thrown in. But not Indie
Me and my friends went to that tower signing too. One buddy couldnt go bc his mom made him do yardwork. Scott told security to fuck off while he had us call our friend so he could talk to him. Pretty sure my buddy still has that signed cell phone that Scott used 1x and while my other friend didn't get to meet STP, he did get a call from a rock n roll icon.
Fuckin loved stp , scott was crazy with all his groove moves, they came around at the right time, the radio had started to get stale, but the other groups mixed with them well then , pearl etc etc
Scott looks like a custom characters in GTA V
He really owned any and every stage he was on.
Scott Weiland is the definition of a rock star.
Batman's Bane(Tom Hardy) copied this🤗
MorningView4
Unfortunately, that’s what killed him.
24/7 Rock Star, because this was recorder at 8 in the morning, after a long night of.. you know.
MorningView4 he dead now lololollolol
Absolutely! Reeked of showmanship.
STP and Alice And Chains my two favorite from that era..
Agree..gotta throw some love at U.P.O. as well..fucking kick ass band
They all sounded the same
Even without a crowd he's dancing RIP Scott.
Scott predicting Covid even then. What a badass!
The whole purple album was great
He's irreplaceable. Brought total coolness to the band
One of the best frontmen ever and doesn't get that recognition he deserves. Saw him with Velvet Revolver in 07, phenomenal showman.
Rowdy 1 totally agree! He could actually sing. Such an amazing band that could write great tunes!
Rowdy 1 David Lee Roth in the 80s. Go watch his jumps and toe touches off Alex Van Halen’s drum risers
I second that... Saw STP in 2001 and it's still one of the best performances I've ever seen til this day. Edit: Footage from that very tour for anyone interested: ruclips.net/video/HuzuBnNsVTs/видео.html

"HOW IS HE GONNA SING???" BOOOOOOOM JUST LIKE THAT. CLASSIC SCOTT! RIP!
Scott was definitely channeling some Bowie energy. RIP
John Travolta on bass, Client Eastwood on vocals and Owen Wilson on drums. I didn't know they made a band and what a fucking band!
Scott gives me chills. He was so damn great!
And was truly great live. I've seen them /him SO many times, but last one was in Philly and he literally rocked our faces off. One of THE beat.

Weiland was goat*
One of the greatest front men ever
One of the best rock performances on a radio show
Man! This guy should still be here !😩
I saw them that year too. When he was in good health, he was unequaled.
Same here!
Meanwhile back in the 90's lol.
I miss those days.
They were all absolutely perfect in every way a band could be . Thank you
The beginning of the song really sounds cool with the laughter.
Such a great band! Why did Scott have to die man? They're all so talented & Scott had everything, complete package. So great, R.I.P. Scott Weiland😭❤
Scott was like a lit match glowing, beautiful, warming but never could last. Along with Hendrix, Morrison and Janis and multiple other great talents.
Fuck man. Where are bands like this today??? No where!
OMG this was so awesome to watch but sad he's not with us anymore
@@daves7079 he died a few years back
He passed away

One of the great rock stars of our time and one hell of a frontman
Scott is such a legend bring s tear to my eye will be missed RIP
Alex Lopez
Not missed at all. This guy was shitty musician and even shittier at life choices. Good riddance Scott, you did it to yourself.
Scott Weiland is easily the most charismatic front man of the grunge era.
Irreplaceable charismatic legend ✨✨✨✨✨
Possibly the best band of it's time.
What an absolute legend! Saw him perform with Velvet Revolver back in 2005 in Greece. Couldn't take my eyes off him, even though Slash was right in front of me. Amazing renditions of Guns N' Roses songs as well. Too much talent, too many demons though.
man i love watching scott sing/perform...i miss you bro :(
Anything live from guys like this is amazing.
Scott the best rocker eva, great performance!
Scott just being Scott. They should've given him more props, loved his antics. Loved the showmanship, such talented musicians.
I'm so glad I got to see them live RIP Scott you will always have a place in my heart 🥰
Ugh. R.I.P. Scott. An under rated legend.
Scott was so full of charismatic antics on stage that’s what makes him interesting to watch. Now he’s joined Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Elvis oh and Chester.
Nasha Naufal What are your thoughts?
Man, love Scott and the entire band...rip buddy. You were AMAZING!!!
Shane Husack What are your thoughts?
One Of The Best Bands Ever To Walk The Earth
Scott weiland was getting better with age.. what an amazing vocalist!
Saw them live at Rolling Rock Fest years ago. Such a great performance.
Ryan Anthony I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl as well. They were awesome.
Latrobe. Ah, the good ol days "33"
Ryan Anthony that was a great festival. I had it on dvd
I think that was the best show they ever did! Amazing moment in time, summer before 9/11 and no smart phones lol
I love them both, specially Layne, but IMO Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley are actually the best rock singers of all time.
Scottie, Layne and Kurt
All the singers mentioned in this thread are awesome but I gotta throw Vedder in the mix. I think he’s underrated. He actually had a great scream and his vocals got even better after he ditched the super deep baritone that so many copied.
You can't leave Cornell outta that one. Just saying.
I'm old enough to regret I've never seen them live
I could watch that one more time
Sounds MASSIVE! Awesome performance!
Was lucky enough to see them twice. Once WAY back in 92 or something when Core came out. They actually opened for Megadeth. People hated them but I remember being super impressed. Second time was a decade later when Cheap Trick opened for them. Amazing shows the both of them.
I never cared for Stone Temple Pilots. Then I heard “Glide” at a cafe in Portland last summer, and it clicked with me. I totally get them now.
Maybe the gayest comment ever.
Bikewithlove strange when that happens.
You were not listening to them when you were 13 in the 80'$ were you he'll nah!!!!
That song is like heaven! Also Sour Girl and I Got You from the same album
so fucking sick when you really get what they're doing. weiland is mad.
*The last REAL Rock and Roll Star...R.I.P Scott.*
Saw them on the Family Values Tour 01....so damn good live👍
Luky guy !!
I did too
Yes!! Fantastic tour/show(Dallas)
I was there as well
I saw them in ‘97 right after Scott got out of rehab. Unfortunately, they sucked. They had to restart songs...it was embarrasing
Scott Weiland, The irreplaceable frontman!!!!
Scott ws the best frontman for the full era 90s' 2000's. Full stop
He was the man RIP
SCOTT LEGEND 🔥❤
Saw them in el Paso tx over 10 yrs ago in the reunion tour (farewell), stuck my hand out with some cheap sunglasses and Scott Weiland grabbed them put them on for a few minutes during his performance and threw them back... STP forever
I always loved his stage presence
One of my favorite singers Rest In Peace
His dance in this reminds me of wild bill "silence of the lambs" lol awesome
Scott Weiland the best ever
They are underrated as a band! They are awesome
seen them in 1994 at red rocks amphitheater badass show 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Red Rocks is the greatest venue in the world!
clark muhlenkort must have been amazing. One of the best outdoor venues in the country with on of the best rock bands of the era. 🤘🏼🎸🎤🥁
Saw STP and queens of the Stone Age on my 16th birthday .. changed my life.
And we all love Mr Scott Weiland
Seeing these old STP stuff makes me miss Scott so bad. Damn
RIP Scott W. One of the bands that defined my childhood.
Rip Scott weiland :(
God damn you can't say anything about the performance you just wanna point out that Scott's fucking dead?
He was so adaptive to Singing R&R.
The 90’s ... indie rock ‘n roll . Glorious times. Weiland 😢
Did you seriously just say stp is indie
They were on a huge label the fuck you mean indie? That stands for independent you know..
Dude, STP aren't indie.... Alternative at most but even then they seemed more Hard Rock with a bit of Glam and Neo Psychedelia thrown in. But not Indie
Grunge would be my preference. Alt. Rock maybe
We miss you Scott. RIP. The perfect definition of a showman. But most of all, he faced a big battle. I'm still heart broken of his passing.😢
Full rock star power...engaged
This is when the world was alive. The good ol days when everything was OK 👌🏻 and music was real
That weren't the good ol days,in 2000 the world and music already went to shit.
I concur with ya 100%.
One of the hardest rocking riffs.
Howard said, "that was good!" Like, yeah, no shit it was good! No, perfect!
The singing was bad, very bad. He fucked himself up with heroin and other drugs and it shows here.
Sometimes it blows my mind
I've seen STP like 30 times and this is why!!!🤘😎🤘
Rockstar defined!!!
Damn I miss this. Scott Weiland was amazing when he was on. RIP creative soul.
R.I.P. Scott
Im not sure there is a better front man then the great SW
