Part of what made him good was that he was messed up. There is a reason why you don't see many legends in the music, comedy or art world, that aren't a bit messed up.
Scott always started out fully clothed and by the end of the video or concert he always ended up only in pants. He was definitely one of a kind. RIP Scott.
Velvet Revolver and Audioslave were great examples that old rock n' rollers still had new things to say and new sounds to explore. They didn't recycle their 80s/90s sound, they went out with a new vision of what mainstream rock could be.
Scott had an incredible voice with a tonne of unique character but what is more is that he was also such a charismatic frontman with such awesome style. RIP Scott.
+Daveyboy I find it interesting that you say that because I've never been able to hear Slash's signature sound and feel in Velvet Revolver, he never sounded like he sounded with GNR. But having these two geniuses together in the same band is the reason why I listened to Velvet Revolver in the first place. Upon first listening, I immediately thought they sounded like STP. Scott's passing is still pretty fresh, RIP Scott. Thanks for all the awesome music!
Black Sunshine I took my son to see them i guess 7 years ago we had god awful seats was at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. I left there totally blown away so much energy was an amazing concert and I’ve been to a lot of concerts
Damn 😫 Every time I listen to any of Velvet Revolver's Songs or STP's I cry because I wish Scott would've gotten ahold of those inner demons. One of the Best frontmen ever. Rip Scott 😭😭 You are Truly Missed 🙏
When you look back at his discography, everything Slash did is gold. G'NR, Snakepit, His solo albums. Of course Velvet Revolver was no exception. It was pure rock'n roll! I wish they had made more albums. RIP Scott Weiland!
Thanks Duff for sharing your recovery in your book, thanks Slash for sharing your recovery and us also about not letting alcohol take the place of dope. I have my moments where that seems acceptable at least I don't take that drink or worse. THANKS Scott for sharing your gift and your curse of addiction. Slash riffing and Scott singing, what a stunning combination, complemented by great melodies and songwriting. The whole Velvet Revolver project was rather underrated, and I totally agree, there won't be rock music legends like those anymore.
I only just started appreciating Scott's vocals now, five years after his passing. You can see he's always been rather thin, but his voice carried so well. RIP...
If you see him in stone temple pilots he looked a lot healthier, more athletic, but yeah as the years go on he seems to melt away, the voice remained 100% though
If you look at stuff from around when Core was released he was average in size. The further along you go in STP the skinnier he gets. Still absolutely a dynamic, unique, exceptional talent who is sorely missed.
Scott was a definite rock idol he looked sounded and even danced the part perfectly, I always loved watching him dance as he sang with Slash and Duff it was a match made in heaven

Sad that this band didn’t have the longevity they deserved. Scott’s demons got him in the end but I’m glad we had this moment in time to experience such musical greatness.
it's interesting that the whole part of Scott's contribution to those that got the chance to know him, or have been affected by his work got the whole package, which included everything he did, like substance heavy use, killer vocals, and theatrics on stage. without one part of anything, he wouldn't have been what everyone liked. it's hard to get that concept. it would've been cool to see him someday make some changes. but apparently he was more than just battling that part of life, he submerged in it, just like he wanted to do. his last day was just as bad ass as every day before that. all of it. slash says it was no fun, why'd he stick around? maybe he didn't get enough coverage. GnR's is a leap down from STP

I remember seeing a documentary behind the scenes of VR and the fellas really saved Scott's life. He was in deep with drugs and darkness. Scott was really sick and the detox was rough but he cleaned himself up with alot of help from Duff and the guys and made the best comeback ever. I think Scott gave the fellas hope and vice versa. Like all great beautiful things it didn't last as long as we would have liked. I'm just happy I got to live to see and hear it.

Atleast Scott was loyal to keeping the original sound for Velvet Revolver. Aside from his substance abuse, his persona seemed more tolerable to say the least.
Theoneandonly88able No doubt . I saw Slash in a bar for a free appearance with a local Radio station . It was during those rough GNR on again off again years . Slash started playing when a ruffled Axl Rose came out of the shadows to start singing while looking drunk as Slash was playing . Everyone was thrilled but then AXL gave Slash a nasty look and left the bar mid song . It was so odd and a huge letdown as everyone thought the band was together again . I gained much respect for Slash as he played several more songs after AXL left for the people who came ! Slash is the best !
