People don't understand that the 40k universe takes place 40,000 years in the future, in a near constant war. Fighting much larger enemies, of course it's "OP"
Yeah well starwars, Star trek, Halo techs and the like seems super advanced too so that's where they probably got them. Although I do think they're op and most universe prolly can't fight them
Warhammer 40k is "That Kid". You know, that one kid you played with all those years back when you were a kid who would make up all these different powers on the fly to come out on top in every "fight"? That's what 40k is. OP, boring, and with hardly any (if at all) stakes. And that's why whenever 40k comes up in a comparison video, I wonder what in the fictional world can it honestly be compared to.
And becoming the anti tank unit as it could carry bigger guns and probably were a hard counter to tanks in the battle of archorage because tanks couldn't really fit in alaskan terrain and thus america didnt put tanks in the battle and instead replaced them with power armor The chinese might have also used chemical warfare in some situations and spammed artillery and someone in power armor can survive both
Because Chief is more experienced. That’s the main factor in a fight. If you put two boxers in a ring, one of them more experienced, chances are the more experienced fighter will win because they have more muscle memory.
Spartan 4s are not Spartans in my book Spartan 3s and 2s had actually spartan training where as a normal person could just say he's loyal and he'd get new organs and armor
Spartan 2s are on a completely different level. Also the fight should have ended a lot more quickly for Locke, because canon masterchief is taught in like twenty martial arts, so the fight would be quite kick-heavy. Also, Spartans age a lot more slowly. They can continue fighting at the age of 100 (for Spartan IV), and have a life expectancy of 200 years. That isn’t even shedding light on the Spartan IIs, however.
I disagree. I'm a Huge 40k fan, I barely know shit about Halo, yes a Space Marine would Curb stomp A Spartan... But Space Marine Armor relies heavily on the actual soldier, It can do almost anything a Spartan can because of that. But take the Space Marine out of the Armor and it's only real advantage is Durability.
I also kinda wanna take that back.... Because Even if your armor has all the bits and pieces, would it really be better If your Spartan armor gets turned to Ash, while Space Marine Armor is still basically unscathed? Dunno.... Depends really.
@@mrbarefootbogan6254 but mjolnir has energy shields and works far better for the unaugmented. compare an inquisitor in aquila with a spartan IV with mjolnir gen 2 and you basically have the matchup
@Solarwolf lets not bring shields Into it. Void Shields in Warhammer 40k can Tank Orbital Bombardment, and even survive Nukes. It's not a fair Match up. Also I've seen Mjolnir Energy shields get 1 shot by 50 cals.
I mean, he also says that Mjolnir likely isn't great past it's energy shielding. It is legitimately bullet proof. Not bullet resistant like modern day body armor, I mean you can't kill the person inside with bullets.
@@sorcererberoll4641 I mean, I wasn't debating who would win between the two. But bullets have much more penetration than rockets, and the explosion would do Jack shit to the Spartan's energy sheilding.

Here is my personal opinion, Pitting fallout against the other universes what flat out unfair. The fallout universe is more advanced than our world yes, but looking at all the other universes they are little bugs. Fallouts power armor is very advanced for the game but compared to the power armor they have in star wars or halo makes it look like a old world artifact (which it already is mind you) I understand their may have been complications between not having another universe to base it off of and the fact that fallout is one of the most popular gaming franchises but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Yet even though fallout power armour is basic in comparison it can survive tank rounds , artillery shells, plasma weapons laser weapons and railgun fire just to put that in retrospect most star wars alloys/armor droids included cant survive slug rounds aka bullets and even spartan and space marine armour takes damage from the same thing so I think it a fair comparison but I think it should have been higher on the list.
You're right, Space Marine armor doesn't restrict their movement, it ENHANCES it. Unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that comparing any universe to 40k is trivial, the scale and power the lore encompasses is just a totally different level than others. Everything 40k is about survival of mankind against enemies these other universes would just be obliterated in facing... 40K power armor is vastly superior in every way, let alone Terminator armor. I mean, tank? How about a walking weapons platform with the firepower of a tank and the armor of a mech while still being agile enough to tear your face off. Sure, there are enemies that tear them apart, but omg could you imagine a Tyranid Hive Fleet finding the Star Wars universe? FEEDING FRENZY! 40k is overpowered compared to others because the ENTIRE universe is on a totally incomparable scale and power to any other sci fi entity in esistence. The Imperium is "overpowered" vs Halo or Star Wars because it faces threats that would wipe out the other universes in minutes. Just saying
Yeh space marines are faster they can run around 40-50mph compared to Spartans which I think were like 55kph. With terminstors in terms of speed, can they go really fast: yes, can they go really fast and actually stop or change direction: no, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that terminators purposefully avoid running due to how hard the suits become to maneuver but yeh space marine power armor should have been first just due to its durability.
The problem with comparing 40k to anything is that all these other sci fi universes are trying to maintain some level of realism, while 40k does whatever it wants because they're not trying to be realistic they're trying to be cool.
@@owenmclaughlin280 also 40k is set alot further into the future compared to the other factions meaning they've had longer to create this technology much of which is no longer working at its pinnacle due to people forgetting how it all works after the DAoT. But yeh it's not realistic compared to anything outside it's own universe where stuff can kill each other fairly easily.
Both armor is powerful but even if the WH40k powerarmor is incredibly advanced and powerful, the Halo Spartan power armor is far more agile and less bulky
Mjolnir is the funniest. Hear me out first. Unlike the others, Mjolnir armour is directly linked to the user’s CNS, meaning that the suit can do things without the user’s thought. The problem is that the user has to manually calibrate the force put into actions, meaning that if they’re not careful, the suit could overreact to a simple task. This is what happened to the Spartans upon receiving their armour. They had no idea what to do and ended up being a bunch of children. I shit you not the Master Chief. That’s right: GREENY MC SPACEARMOUR KNOCKED HIMSELF OUT BY SALUTING TO HARD! Also, they hadn’t calibrated shields so the Spartans slid around like they were on ice until the shields were recalibrated.
You didn't cover the autosensorium features of a later mark Astartes power armor helmet! It has a lot of the same traits of the MJOLNIR armor as well as some others, activated by thought-impulse.
Plus the built in life support system that automatically releases pain meds and monitors vitals, how each suit is grounded so electrical based attacks do less damage, the extreme temperature management system
Naaa man BLYAT ARMOR is STRONGER then the 40k armor. BLYAT ARMOR OR STALIN'S BLYAT ARMOR IS THE GOD OF ALL ARMOR! NO ONE CAN STAND A CHAN'S IN OUR RED ARMY MARCH URAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
@nerd Surfer no, protection in 40k isn't anything special, its all pretty much the same just named differently, you got your energy shields, you got your super metals, but it's all pretty much the same.
Putting a fully grown, healthy in his prime Spartan with full armor and weapons along with with some meth, then put him in the mediaeval times, that's a space marine 24/7 for HUNDREDS of years.
If I remember correctly there’s a long buried piece of Halo lore that says the Gen II Mjolnir system is actually worse than Gen I. To operate Gen I the Spartans required specially reworked and coated bone structures and neural linkages to their armor. The reaction speed and haptic response of the Gen I killed its non-spartan test pilot. So it’s abilities had to be reduced for the spartan IVs who didn’t receive the augmentations required to operate the armor in the originally intended manner. In addition it’s neural link seems to be missing on spartan IVs, leading me to believe it’s a muscular response amplification system rather than a neural response amplification system, which means slower reaction times and decreased power overall.
IKnowMyWorldWars you see this is the difference between the two universes mentalities. Halo looked at that and said well back to the drawing boards, but 40k said okay and how about we skin our super soldiers alive and to implant more interface nodes.
There was a decrease in the feedback sensitivity of the armour, but due to increasing tech its actually "exponentially" stronger in almost every way including strength multiplication. Its like having a different gear ratio, it may not accelerate as fast as gen1, but its still got more torque behind it.
@@mikewong2440 yes? Mjolnir increases explosive strength as well, so you do move faster in it. Spartans sprint faster than space marines from 40k for instance (on average).
Warhammer armor does have one big weakness in my opinion, the armor is wired into the nervous system of the marine. In the novel helsreach an ork was able to take down a space marine with what was essentially an over sized taser because it wen't through the interface ports and directly into his body
Internet Zen Master and then the orc got squished by Grimaldus.... That space marine was lucky he only got zapped and not disintegrated it was ork tech afterall either its OP or useless.
there is a nother point against wh40k im highly in it. but i have to admit the sm power armor only runs at its best and only if the user is an astartes. the production of an astartes takes about 20 years of augmention and training the armor with out all the feats is just a power armor. and even the "bad" tier 4 spartans could kill a human carrying a powerarmor without the astartes updates. For example look at soroita, they are humans in power armor and get killed in thousends with ease. greetings from germany
There is no question that if a space marine and spartan fought a space marine would win however thats not the qustion here guys. I think it would have been better to compare the armor in its own universe rather then with each other. If thats the case then I agree compeletly that Mjolnir suits work perfectly for its setting as Space marine armor while good will regulary get pierced by bolters of their own universe which we all have to admit right now The Imeprium of Man Weaponry is a shitload more stronger then Unsc Weaponry to begin with. Comparing it to each other I still think Space marine power armor is the best. It does everything Mjolnir does but better, minus the energy shields and AI enhancments. Not only will Space marine armor protect you better but give you more strength on top of it. The only thing i can say that Mjolnir does better is better speed but thats a little iffy as we get cases where space marines slap bolter shells out of the air in reaction time alone. The armor gives you auto targeting with weapons like bolters as we get also get scenes where space marines are also able to shoot a target miles away but also ricotchet the bolt and kill the target behind armor while at it. Again if we are comparing it strictly according to its own setting Mjolnir hands down but When comparing it to each other I still have to give it to the Astartes Power Armor
+Kevin Kye, the armor advantage is nullified for wh40k because all of these dumb as fuck astartes are walking around WITH NO DAMN HELMETS JUST WHY, seriously I never understood, and btw you underestimate how strong spartans are XD they can lift 90 tons with their gen 2 mk6 armor on, but space marine have max feats of a 60 ton tank (can't remember if it was a predator or a land raider.)
Spartan armour massively amplified strength, chief could bench press 3 tons comfortably when he was getting used to his augments in training, when chief was 14 in fall of reach he did he bullets point blank in a training exercise and could debt/smash the trainers power armour, bear in mind this is 14 year old underdeveloped chief with no armour assists. Now we're talking about fully adapted chief fully trained and experienced he's just ridiculous in lore, also for speed Spartans can go from a standstill to 60mph Sprint almost instantly and casually flip warthogs(3tons standard model) and throw drop pods(about 2 tons) hundreds of feet plus AI assist which further increase reaction time and tactical ability e.g able to analyse targets and gather info rapidly, these reasons are why I feel spartan armour is better
You actually left out one of Fallout power armor’s main selling points: anybody can use it, so long as they could fit in it. Now, before anybody brings up the “training” requirement from Fallouts 3 and New Vegas, this mechanic was purely added to keep the player from easily getting access to power armor early. In the 2D Fallout games this wasn’t an issue as power armor was very rare and hard to get early, and both Fallout 4 and 76 rebalanced power armor to allow for its use early on with the tradeoffs in terms of maintenance requirements. It can also be maintained using equipment found in an automotive garage, judging by the use of an engine hoist as a ‘power armor work station’ in Fallout 4. Consequently, Fallout’s power armor is the most user-friendly set on the list.
Actually the thing of the “special training for power armor” in fallout nv and 3 its because its servo thecnology... for example. The powerarmor of the ncr dont have this servos, because its made of pieces of no longer functional t-45 d power armor suits, so you dont newd this training... but remeber that the solo survivor was a member of the us army ( if it is male) so he alteady had his training... and dont take in mind fallout 76... that game is crap... i hope that the info has helped tou
@@PatrickStarForPresident You're wrong. Know how I know you're wrong? You can find suits of the exact same suits of T-51b power armor that you can get in the first isometric games in Fallout 3, and in Fallout 1 and 2, they didn't require special training, but they do in 3. It was added solely as a game mechanic to keep you from getting access to power armor early, since you could loot power armor off of dead Brotherhood personnel pretty early on in Fallout 3, whereas in Fallouts 1 and 2, if you wanted power armor you either had to wait until the story wanted you to have it (as there were only a couple of suits, invariably in late-game locations), or if you didn't want to wait, either spec into sneaking to steal one, or be prepared for one hell of a firefight if you just wanted to take it by force.
@@PatrickStarForPresident And it's inconsistent even with the lore, unless you want to say that Vault 13 had Power Armor Training courses (unlikely, but not impossible), seeing as you don't have to receive training in power armor usage in the original game to wear it. People in the comments defending space marines seem to forget one thing. The armor in halo isn't as durable as space marine armor. So even though gen 4 Spartans move faster, they are less resilient to damage. My advice for EckhartsLadder is to leave 40k alone, as it will win almost every single time. Plus he doesn't do much research on 40k.
I'm here as a neutral party but durability and pros and cons for the armors depends on many factors doesnt it like materials it's made of as well and how its implemented into the armor. Like how the bulkiness of the 40k armor and curvature allows for bullets to occasionally bounce off and it taking more damage because of that factor as well while the mjolnir armor has the bonus of everything on it being made of extremely strong metals to the point the body suit Spartans wearing being made of titanium threading meaning average or weaker types of bullets dont do as much damage as the armor piercing bullets used in the unsc. There are also other factors like how the 40k armor is good with interplanetary survival due to how they are designed to handle hazardous environments as good as they can handle normal environments as well. And the halo armor is designed to handle most if not all types of environments including zero gravity and even the vacuum of space which comes in Handy when they're in space battles against the covenant. I dont know how well 40k armor handles up to plasma and energy based weapons though so I can't judge it against halo armor though I feel like without shielding both may be near the same in weakness to plasma and energy weapons though with halo armor having shields fir their armor it allows for some extra defense against plasma and energy weapons and the materials of the armor itself allowing it to take a few extra hits or so. That's where star wars armor does come in handy as clone and storm trooper armor was designed to be effective against blaster fire so people in it can take hits and not due instantly but those armors are extreamely weak to projectile based weapons which were banned in that universe. The fallout armor was also good in the aspect of energy based attacks depending on the type of power armor. All in all I say all the armors are great in their respective universes and with halo and 40k armors being good in both their universes and each other universes depending on the scenarios they're fighting in and who theyre up against in those scenarios.
Dont quote me on too much of this though as my knowledge of all 4 subjects are fairly limited and slightly out dated as I havent gotten to read up on any new or changing lore in the past 9 months

Red Cap- Despite the fact that I enjoy Halo more, it's pretty much guaranteed that 40K wins pretty much 90% of whatever it's fighting. That's not to say everyone else is weak. It's because 40K makes the trade of being night undefeatable killing machines at the expense of being a fucking nightmare reality. You can actually have moments of peace and levity in places like Halo, Star Wars and even the apocalyptic Fallout. But 40K? No. Never. There is only war. Every day, every hour, every second, is unending conflict. The reason 40K wins is because, unlike everyone else, for the last 10 000 years, no one has been able to enjoy a moment of peace. And probably never will.

Yeah, I can get on board with this. Even as a Total Warhammer (heh) shill, to my knowledge we don't get the same attention to detail for Space Marine armor as we do for the Mjonir sets, and I think it's safe to assume most of the bad ass factor is coming from the marine himself. Funny, despite how much Warhammer is known for sweating the details, they took arguably the most iconic part of the series and kind of just said "it's power armor, it's dope" and left it at that.
Yeah if you look at it a little more closely the space marine armor really does not have adequate clearance between the plates to be practical, the shoulder plates are laughably oversized you would never be able to raise them to firing height which is something that becomes apparent when you cosplay in this stuff. Not even going to mention how the bolter has a barrel larger than the magazine that feeds it...
Than i would suggest you actually looking up that stuff, especially since you are talking about Total Warhammer that hasnt anything to do with 40K in the first place. Warhammer is set in a medvial fantasy setting while 40k is set in a sci-fi setting. Aside from that, Halo tells you even less about the armor , in fact virtually nothing really besides that it increases your strength and what not but not how. As for Solid Snek, that is maybe because cosplaying as a SM is weird, Simply because the cosplayer in question would like to make it Space mariny by making the armor very broad. Problem is that a normal human would be wearing the stuff instead of a 2.30m Tall twice as brought as a normal man being Astartes.
The bolter is directly integrated into the Space Marines armor so it provides a targeting cross-hairs onto the helmet. That means that a Space Marine does not need to aim down the sights of the gun. The gun is providing targeting information directly to his helmet. You see this in the Dawn of War 2 Trailer which clearly shows the Space Marine aiming with the gun at his waist. You see the same thing in Starcraft 2 for the C-14 gun. Since the guns are integrated with the armor they don't need sights since they are integrated into the armor. They have neither sight nor stock since they do not need neither since the gun is directly integrated into his armor.
+Invictus you _Are_ told how the armour makes the user stronger Liquid metal crystal piezoelectric layer (a layer made of a fictional material) in the armour deforms when exposed to an electrical charge (something some real life materials can do too just not as well as this fictional material) we are also told what the armour is made of, we know of medical subsystems like bio foam injectors, we know it can seal off sections of the suit if breached, a gel layer that protects against kinetic damage and high pressure environments; not mentioning the fail safe detonators, micro fusion reactors computer systems etc. what do we know of the space marine armour meanwhile? just a bit less...its a bit more simple and more focused on just being an armour and life support system, it has no AI port or anything like that unlike later sets of armour in halo (as AI is not used by the space marines) and the strength amplification system is a bit more simple relying on solid fibres. also even for a broad 2.30m tall astrates moving in the armour is impossible...the plates would prevent proper movement; this is due to 40k intentionally following an old sci-fi (and fantasy) trope where soldiers have unrealistically large armour on the shoulders. (though plating would interfere in other areas too, its far more restricting then medieval plate)
The only thing that puts fallouts power armour down to the bottom is that it's very realistic yet gives enhanced physical abilities. Thats why its my favorite.
Honestly, if you look into the lore of Crysis and the implications that the Nanosuit 2.0+ carries... That thing is so advanced and capable that it's frankly scary. The armor is almost alive and is evolving every time it's damaged. It can repair itself. It's a walking electronic warfare suite that can hack into virtually anything given enough time. Cloaking, enhanced strength, capability to move in zero-G, its own oxygen supply... It's frankly amazing tech.
@Psychometrics Honestly, the tech that humanity had during the Dark Age of Technology was so advanced that even the Eldar and Orks didn't mess with humanity (and the few times they did it supposedly didn't end well for them). To give you an idea, the Adeptus Mechanicus has a ship that is from the Dark Age of Technology (and controlled by a sentient AI that is just sort of letting humanity use it at the moment) called the "Speranza" which is an Ark Mechanicus exploratory vessel. It has forging capabilities that put an Imperium forge world, even Mars, to shame. It was able to destroy an Eldar cruiser. The first shot (...which was a micro-black hole, I might add) missed because a Farseer on the Eldar cruiser had a vision of their own death. So the Speranza, on its own, *_transported the Eldar ship back in time AND space to its previous location so it would be destroyed._* And, thus, the Farseer didn't see *_that coming._* If humanity still had DAoT tech in the 41st millennium, basically nothing except perhaps Chaos (which was the likely downfall of humanity by making the Men of Iron go rogue since Chaos can and do infect computer systems - there's entire parts of Mars just infected with rogue war machines that are like 20,000 years old and things laying dormant that, trust me, you want to remain dormant) could stop us. Orks? They were already kept in check in the DAoT. Same goes for the Eldar. Necrons? Outside of warp nonsense DAoT humanity was far more advanced. Tyranids? Gone. The only thing that the Eldar have/had over humanity is the webway. And it's not quite clear if that's because humanity couldn't figure it out (hell, even the Emperor tried and failed) or if we just preferred warp travel since it's more versatile.
@@matchesburn I disagree with Necrons, they still would be better in terms of technology. The standard issue weapon for necron trooper is one of the most deadly weapons in existance, capable of shooting beams that dismember molecules by severing atomical bonds, that means that no armor can protect. They won a war against an entire army of primarchs (in my opinion full krorks should be weaker than primarchs, but a demi-krork managed to be on par with Vulkan. I hope that they will scale them down, but for now it's like this). In an all out war, DAoT humanity might win, but not because of uperior tech, but by sheer numbers

I thought the Terminator was unable to fight for several days or weeks? I remember a story in which a few Terminators were flung in the air and into some buildings due to the blast of an Atomic Bomb They eventually woke up and get themselves to friendly territory
Yeah , the guy who madr the video clearly bias, you dont survive and even thrive to be the most powerful faction in a fucked up universe with war on a daily basis against some immortal demon god with some puny armour
Thay missed the part where 40k power armor does massively boost the users strength and speed and models without the direct body link (the space marine black carapace) can be used by normal humans but tend to be quite rare, for example the sisters of battle use a stripped down kind of power armor and so do Inquisitors.
i sense some bias or some lack of information here... All the reasons you have to put Mjolnir armor on first spot, the Sm Power armor has it... Enhance user strength, speed and durability?, yup the Astartes Power Armours does it, through the Neural connection of the armour to its wearer a power armour adds to the Space marine strength( in game terms a SM Str is 4, a Spartan would be equivalant or 3). In term of speed, while the Power armor enhance the SM surhuman speed, i reckon that the fact still remain that a SM power armor weights 250kg, even if the SM unnatural strength combined with the Power armor servos and systemes allows them to move like the armor weights nothing to them, its still a load of over 400kgs( since Marines weight a little under 200kg themselfs...), while the Mjolnir armour is more lightweight. Armors durability?, to be absolutly sure to get through a power armor, you need anti tank missiles or rockets..., everything with less firepower has more chances to bounce off then doing anything significant, and thats not factoring in the fact that SM surhuman physiques and modified organs can keep them alive even if the armor gets breached, but since you focused on the armors rather then the wearer we'll leave it at that. HuD interface and sensory arrays?, yup, the Power armor does it too, with the aid of a "Machine-Spirit" ( IA) that facilitate the work for the Marine, think of it has the HuD of Iron Man suits in the movies, communications, radar, lidar, infrared, you name it the Power armor does it. Power armors also can deliver "first aid" on the fly if the wearer is wounded, boosting the Marines surhuman healing capabilities, by injecting chemicals, adrenaline, etc and stitching the wounds that can be stitched of course or apply a gel to cover more complicated wounds that need surgical and medical attention, once the battle is over. And all that is in the standard issued Power armor, that not even accounting for the higher officers armors that has acces to shield generators and artificer armors that boast greater capabilities and durability. Also the Power armor has its own nuclear reactor to provide energy to it, wich makes power armors capable of nearly going forever... And then...you have the Tactical Dreadnaught Armor, or more commonly named the Terminator Armor... BUt the biggest down size to Astartes power armors is that, well only SPace Marines can wear them, some lesser versions of power armors exists for the Adeptus Sororitas( Sisters of Battles, or Battles Nuns...) and for some high ranking Inquisitors, but they don't have all the features that the ones used by the SM has, since they lack the neural connections and the extra organs to make it work. Also the tehcnological downfall of Humankind in the 40k universe, make is so that they repair and maintain existing power armors or use antiquated blueprints to make new ones, since 40k is a grimdark universe where the tehcnological advancedment of mankind went stall and even a little back wards after the Age of Strife and the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, so the number of Power armors is kinda limited, and they rarely make new variants, it takes the Techs and Mechs of the Adeptus Mechanicus centuries or even millenias to find and release new variants of existing gear because innovations is so hard and near impossible with the Monolithic and Despotic ruling if the Imperium of Man, where they considere that the Machines are governed by a God of Machines, the Omnimessiah, the Deus Ex Machina... And so any new findings are rigourously tested for centuries before given the green light for mass production because of that mix of Religion and Tech...
In the Deathwatch RPG books the Space Marines armor gave them +20 strength. With a -10 to concealment. Armor 8 (10 torso). and one ability from a random table. While in the Dark Heresy RPG books the "light" power armor gave the wearer the unnatural strength 1 trait(+1 strength).max agility 40. armor 7 I guess the Spartan armor would be like the light power armor with better agility and a refactor field.
THE POWER ARMOR HAS INTELLIGENT ARTIFICIALS IN IT?! HOLY SHIT! I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THAT THEY CAME OUT WITH THOSE YET! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! (You spelled AI backwards, so now I have to be an overly sarcastic asswipe.)
Good run down. I just whipped up a Dark Angels Captain from the last codex: 2+ armor, 3+ invulnerable, jump pack, blah, blah, etc. It is not close. I will wade into it with the Imperium's Finest any time. For the Lion. When he returns, the 1st Legion is coming back together again and there will be another xenocide.
The comment section is absolutely hilarious. People are screaming “40k wins!” Before even watching the video and now the whole thing is so confused, it’s great!
Meh, the strength difference is about the ratio of a 5 foot 5 inch 150lb man to a 6 foot 2 inch 230lb man. Either can win, it just depends on who's better at fighting (although yeah, in halo 5 MC wouldve dunked all over locke, but if you had two equals at each end it'd be relatively close).
In all fairness on equal grounds a spartan 4 is fairly matched against an average spartan 2, this is proven by a spartan 4's ability to take on elites, hunters etc to the same or similar degree of a spartan 2
Nothing beats the power of the Astartes Pattern Power Armour. The protective advantages alone, are so much more superior, that it is not even funny. Not to mention the myrriad of other benefits that the armour brings to the wearer.
Indeed. Tactical Dreadnought Armour is even more advanced. With far surperior Auger arrays and auspex than even regular Astartes Pattern Power Armour. And not to mention the protective capabilities that make even the regular power armour look positively flimsy in comparison.
What I think was meant was that while an Astartes would beat a Spartan simply because they are better warriors overall, the Mjolnir can turn a normal human into a super soldier, while an Astartes has to be genetically modified to use his power armour to it's full potential. Power Armour in 40k without Black Carapace in 40k is clunky and slow. Sure it can take a lot of punishment, but it is no where near as good with a normal human in it rather than an Astartes.
Space marine armor is so durable that the standard weapon used against it, which itself isn't immediately lethal, is a fully-automatic rocket launcher. To disable a space marine you need to hit the same piece of armor plating four times to breach the armor, then twice to disable its mechanisms. In practice you don't hit the same plating. **Repeat: A space marine's armor can tank being struck by a fully-automatic clip of hyper-advanced rocket-propelled grenades and protect the user.**
This. And the Astartes can run stupid fast for a human and maintains reaction times 3x faster than normal humans. Speed, strength, and durability beat out every other contender.
@@thesocialistsarecoming8565 Maybe you're the one who didn't read a Wiki on Space Marines. Eckhart himself says that Space Marine genetic modification would make a Spartan 2 blush meaning that it is superior to it in every way. And what does the year M40 mean to you? The Halo timeline for Humanity is 2550 just 528 years from our current time period. Yes, I know that Humanity existed alongside the Forerunners and were basically nerfed but so did Humanity in 40k. The height of human technology wasn't during the Imperium, it was during M15 to M25. Humanity grew so powerful that, in theory, it is similar to Ancient Humanity of Halo and are able to fight Forerunners. AND Space Marines were designed by one the most, of not THE most intelligent being in the galaxy.
@@Brother_O4TS spartans are faster sprinting. 80kmph average top speed for a SM (sourced by someone else via deathwatch handbook) whereas spartans can hit and have hit in excess of 100kmph sprinting and the average was about 60-80kmph running if i recall. The SMs can go further, not faster. Also a small spartan 2 in gen 2 mjolnir is a tiny bit stronger than the average SM in tacticus in terms of max strength (source again someone else referencing DW handbook. If you bring up terminator armor im gonna bring up the mantis armor lmao), and that says nothing of gen 3 mjolnir now in halo infinite. And dont get me wrong, the SM is a better frontline troop in attrition based warfare without question. If we're talking more dynamic and short term environs spartans are maybe a bit better, and spartans were only ever intended to be spec ops.
Flightsim Fantasy very true. You can't beat literally raising children for war with fast augments and expensive armor. But you sure can make a lot more of them the other way.
Wait, there are Spartan 5s? In one battle, 300 Spartan IIIs died fighting against a few thousand Covenants If every Spartan on Reach was replaced with a Space Marine, could the UNSC have held Reach?
Master Chief John-117 it's also a type 2 not because it's equal in power to one, but because the Mjolnir is a combination of a battle skin and a hazardous enviroment suit at the same time, and guilty spark mentions that it's quite smart to use such equipment when dealing with the flood, probably meaning that even tho forerunner battle skins of high tier were probably extremly powerful, they were vulnerable to the flood infenction
Preator armor:Seriously That shits nearly non stop able with Doomslayer and it can take star level attacks From demons so I say This is one of the strongest
The author, probably, is not accustomed well with WH40K Space marines armor. Otherwise it is hard to explain the selection. Space marine armor is, actually, provides all the same capabilities and more as Spartan armor - it is packed with autosenses, 3C devices and power augmentation. In addition, it allows to wield it without removal for YEARS, without resupply, without recharging - which we can see on multiple occasions (although space marines are tending to care for their armor as soon as possible). As for strength and speed, space marines armor provides incredible augmentation to their inhuman abilities, allows them to mount heavy weaponry, especially when talking about terminators (tactical dreadnoughts). So, it is at least equal to the Spartan's armor. At minimum. But the true thing is the owner-armor integration system. Space marines have implanted devices and contact points - which allows them to use their armor as second skin.
Perhaps it's 'best armour' in relation to the wearer? Like, a Space Marine's suit is powerful, but they go from 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior' to 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior with armour plating' whereas Mjolnir considerably ups the abilities of the Spartan inside it.
What I mean is, a Spartan outside of armour is still a well-trained, genetically modified combatant, as is a Space Marine, but the difference is that a Space Marine's armoured suit does not up the capabilities of a Marine nearly as much in comparison. To take an example, even without the suit, Marines are still capable of shrugging off bullets with their Black Carapace alone, whereas a Spartan has a significantly difference chance of survival depending on whether or not they're armoured. A Space Marine helmet grants increased targeting ability, but their own bio-augmented eyes give them insane targeting ability to begin with, while Spartans rely more heavily on their helmet for aiming (except for Linda, but she's practically meme-powered when it comes to aiming anyway...). There's no question that, looking at the suits themselves, the Space Marine armour is tougher and has more powerful hardware, but _relative to the abilities of the occupants,_ MJOLNIR has a greater impact. Sorry if I'm not communicating this well, I'm not very good at explaining.
MJOLNIR Armor isn't as good at protecting the user against melee and energy weapons Had Noble Six been wearing an Imperial version of Power Armor he would have lasted longer Imperium Power Armor has nothing on Dark Eldar Power Armor (worn by the Incubi) Incubi Power Armor does not slow the user down at all yet offers the same protection as Space Marine Power Armor! Had Noble Six been wearing TERMINATOR Power Armor... ...it would have taken several airstrikes from the Covenant Ships to take him out!
This is quite an unfair comparison, mainly due to the universes were working with, and time periods, people in the fallout universe had about only about what ? 220 years to build power armor, and progress was halted for about 150 years, and resumed for a few years before the destruction of the enclave, meaning advancements were next to none, comparing that with other universes Here progress wasnt halted, for about 400 years at the minimum, its just plain stupid Still in the games, wearing power armor for the first time made you feel like a god amongst men, because unlike warhammer or halo( dunno much about star wars, so please educate me) almost no one has access to power armor, in most games, you find like what, the brotherhood, and another organisation which uses power armor frequently( mainly the enclave and its remnants) while in other games, almost everyone has this tech, which basically waters down the fight to has more skill Great vid anyways👍🏻, but i would love to see a comparison on how each set fairs in its own universe, instead of comparing them directly to each other
What are you talking about? The whole of the Halo universe has a very limited amount of Spartans and therefore a limited number of usable Mjolnir armors up until Halo 4 when Gen 4's came into the picture. I believe in the third game you are basically dubbed the Last Spartan alive, although later that turns out to be untrue. In Fallout you just need PA training to hop in a suit and take off. In Halo you literally need a complete biological overhaul only possible through dozens of medical procedures with low, something like 1 in 3, survival rates. That's not even mentioning the fact that Spartan IIs had to be kidnapped as children, indoctrinated, forced into lifelong military service, and raised as warriors only to constantly be forced to compete against one another all while these augmentations were taking place. In Halo you just happen to be a Spartan with a set of Mjolnir and improbable luck so it may feel as if it's nothing special but then go play Halo 3 ODST and you gain a new appreciation for Mjolnir and it's capabilities. Also, if you don't have those super special augmentations and try to hop in a set of Mjolnir you WILL die the most horrifyingly, excruciatingly twisted death you can imagine just by trying to move from the starting position as highlighted in Halo: Fall of Reach.
I totally agree with you, its annoying how most people immediately says "Astartes armor will always win", come on, they're all made for diferent reasons, Astartes' armor was made for an all out war, Spartan armor is for special Operations deemed too dangerous for even lets say ODSTs, and the huuuuuuge gap of time its just not fair
@@praxxys9809 of course they aleways win because warhammer40k is only war so that mean ( better armor than everyone better power than everyone ) Seriously you take a spartan and come in warhammer40k and you die by a orks with a medium axe in 3 sec 🪓
@@mansoloraphyblacktemplar5908 you're not giving any explanation right there, yes, a Spartan will not be able to take on a horde of enemies like an Astartes, but again, both were made for different reasons, and I can guarantee, no matter how fast or agile an Astartes is, they are not as nimble as a Spartan, faster perhaps, but definitely not more agile
Fallout is my favorite universe bar none, but yeah. It's almost 500 years chronologically behind the next armor. I also disagree with the halo armor besting 40k armor. Space Marines have access to systems on the power armor known as auto senses(range finders and other sensory equipment directly connected to the nervous system) , vox communication equipment, plus all the box standard increases in strength and agility. Also, you state normal people can't wear space marine armor or mjlonir armor. There's actually an entire faction in 40k who are normal people wearing power armor, the sisters of battle. They don't have access to auto senses, but still have access to enhanced strength speed and durability. I think that versatility should give it the edge to be #1. Plus auto sense are crazy.
+Andrew Walli if am not mistaken the sisters of battle have a weaker version of the armour....less strength, less speed and likely less durability; sensors, tracking systems, communications etc are also standard on Spartan armour...though some sets may have these systems better then others and with AI or satellite assistance more effective or even predictive use can be made of it.
Also forgetting stuff like the auto-medicae system, the nutrient recycling system, and all the other little upgrades that turn a space marine from a soldier in armour into a demigod of war.
Tancread of Galilee through the body glove which is meant to disperse heat? Yes. But that Body Glove in itself would render a lasgun useless. Stormtrooper armour works in two stages, the duraplast armour pieces that break kinetic momentum and the body glove that disperses energy. This armour works so well most stormtroopers you see go down in the movie are actually still alive just knocked unconscious. A lasgun might melt through or cause cracks in the plate after repeated firings but unlike blasters which are particle beams there is no kinetic force behind a lasgun.
JacatackLP the spears go through their fucking helmets. Which are duraplast. Stormtroopers gear is Shit even compared to guardsmen Carapace, they don't even protect from blasters set to Stun in universe.
I love the entry on Dark Trooper armor in The Imperial Handbook It's basically the guy who made the phase 1 and 2 armors going "noooo you can't just use guns, they're dishonorable!'
At one point, the Imperial Guard got pinned down near a bridge on a valley because of high powered anti vehicle weapons. Then some Astartes arrived and literally just ran through the literal rain of high explosives to take out the enemy on the other side. Let's see Spartans do that.
Mori Adine Warhammer is a universe. Anyone can make up anything within the universe and call it Canon because of the nature of Warhammer 40k's lore. You could say one space marine held a temple for 30 days against an entire warband of orcs, but it wouldn't matter anyway because Warhammer is fueled by imagination due to the nature of the wargame.
The Imperial Guard isn't real, so literally anything anyone says is "Canon" Warhammer is a huge universe, they probably had a beaver for a commisar at one point.
I don't disagree that Astartes Armor is better, but you also have to factor in that even WEARING that armor required painful surgery and a complete change of your hormonal growth (as well as basically removing your ribs) to actually wear. Halo Mjolnir and other marks require roughly similar work to be done, and for the Spartan to be picked at a young age. Star Wars armor is honestly a bit of a mess. Fallout's T-series and APA series armor requires literally a handle pull, then a thrust, and you are in. You now have nearly two tons of armor on and lots of protection. You used to have to get special training to wear it, but Fallout 4 has retconned this. I have my doubts you have played Fallout (any of them) or honestly anything other than Warhammer stuff. You sound like you are a fanboy who only wants their version of truth to be real. Get a life, please.
Its interesting, arguably the mjolnir is the most realistic in terms of application. I mean why slap on more armor when you can just make a better shield and only keep enough armor to absorb shock and the occasional round?
how about the granddaddy of all power armor, the classic starship troopers. it falls from space, can hover/skate and almost fly with jumps of hundreds of meters. it can run at high speed too comparable to any car. it usually doesnt have any direct projectile weaponry like guns but its loaded with a flamethrower, many missiles, and bombs and its not uncommon for them to carry small nukes. their strength is practically a gorilla. the protection was decent against radiation but directed energy weapons like lasers could pierce it. power and life support could last for hours and was easily rechargeable. it had its own built in radar with HUD and multiple comm circuits. all of this was written in the 1950s too.
Not to conflict with your point or anything, but WH40K (Warhammer) was created before Starship Troopers, and Starship Troopers is actually inspired by it.
Which is absurd - I'm pretty sure the commenter (like me) actually read the book, and knows that what we saw in the movie was a diminutive travesty. "COME ON YOU APES, YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER!?!"
Aight eck, with the wh40k power armour you didnt mention what the power armour does to its users (atleast i dont think) "electrically motivated fibre bundles that replicate the movements of the wearer and supplement his strength" " linking the wearer's nervous system to his suit's mind impulse controls, turning the suit into a second skin that moves with all the speed and precision of the Battle-Brother's own body"
The following are some features that come with 40k power armor, from TRPG deathwatch rulebook. "Servo-Augmented Musculature: +20 Strength Auto-senses: Dark Sight, immune to Photon Flash and Stun Grenades Built-in Vox Link Built-in Magboots Nutrient Recycling: Can operate for two weeks without re-supply Recoil Suppression: May fire Basic weapons 1-handed without penalty Poor Manual Dexterity: Delicate tasks suffer a -10 penalty, unless using equipment designed for Space Marines Osmotic Gill Life Sustainer: With the helmet on, the armour is environmentally sealed"
That's the stuff that has a direct impact on the mechanics of the RPG. Honestly, I'm a 40K fanboy, but Power Armor isn't that awesome. Space Marines are awesome, and they make Power Armor awesome. By itself, it's solid, damn good, and anyone should want it, but it definitely isn't everything that some people think it is. It's more like the vehicle that delivers the ass-kicking that is an Astartes to his enemies intact, so that he may kick their asses.
You're wrong there, because Space Marines aren't the only people that wear power armour, and most of the time, space marines *don't wear only power armour.* Conversion fields, iron halos, blessings of the Emperor for the Nuns with Guns. The average inquisitor is asskicking, strap him into a suit of power armour and he can basically go full ham on enemies that he would struggle with without the armour.
I respect the list I love fallout power armor but it's obvious where it would be because all the other armor on this list is more advanced then the fallout universe and it has a unfair chance agents extremely hight tech armor from halo 40K and star wars
The thing about about Fallout Powered Armor is that it's a lot more realistic than the other ones and closer to real life attempts to create powered armor...but it has the drawbacks of that realism as well so it could never beat suits that somehow keep both speed and mobility through technobabble.
longrange 717 Agreed, other version of power armor require the user to be augmented in varies level which also kinda suck. If I want to use a power armor, I would still pick one from Fallout. And Space Marine would require you to be modified since birth, no normal human can just become a space marine.
The reason you're saying this is due to the EU being represented as a ridiculous landscape that sounds to idiotic to be true. No offense to 40k but that's the basic truth.
It might have won if he used Terminator armor. Built like a tank, with teleportation, super-duper strength, and special shielding... but slow. Then again, Halo's armor was actually pretty good.
Surprised you didn't include the space marine armor from legendary Starcraft franchise, that would be my go to futuristic armor if I had a pick. Love the WH40K power armor but one'd have to undergo an enhancing transhuman process (and survive it) in order to wear one.
you do now this is Sauron we are talking about the orgs won't even get near him let alone touch him. HE IS SAURON HE IS EQUAL TO GOD int hat universe and he would just come back as he can't die!!!
you do realize the Valor can wipe them out with easy with there massive powers and if you dont know Melkor created orks and can erase them with the wave of his hand thats all he has to do and the forerunner are also nothing to Valor the infection will bow to the might of the Valor
Yeah but if you put the spartan pilot in space marine armour he wouldn't be strong enough to lift it or have the modifications required to interface with it. Spartan armour is fine for the situations Spartans get into, but it just isn't enough for the situations Space Marines get into. A Space Marine could walk through an artillery barrage and will shrug off everything but the heaviest ordnance or specifically designed anti-armour weapons. Spartans just don't pack the firepower needed or have comparable training to Space Marines. Space Marines would also reliably outrun and outshoot Spartans to a ludicrous degree, and if they ever got anywhere near close combat the Spartans would never stand a chance. As a fun note, if you shot a space marine with a normal pistol you wouldn't be able to kill him. His rib cage is genetically changed to be bullet proof, he has two hearts, and his skull is really only going to be damaged by a tank round. You couldn't poison him, you couldn't cut him and hope he bleeds to death, you couldn't gas him, you couldn't try to find a weak spot because he doesn't have one, and you wouldn't be close to being faster than him. 40k is a ludicrously overpowered universe that very few other fictional universes stand a chance at combatting. Halo is certainly not capable of doing it. Star Wars cannot. Fallout cannot. Do not be dumb enough to assume just because you like Spartans that they're on the level of 40k's elite soldiers.
It's not overpowered, it's just logical. You are a guy from 30th mfucking millenium, if you would create a supersoldier I don't think they would be much different. Spartans are simply from the another league. Imperial stormtroopers sometimes are better equiped then spartans. And they recive roughly the same training. That's who people should compare spartans with.
Were the forerunners on this list, they would've cleaned the floor with each supersoldier in each power armor. The Marines might give him some trouble, but with how powerful the armor is I doubt it would be too much. Forerunner armor > Astartes > Mjolnir >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the other two
The thing is, we cannot look at the armors alone, because they cannot be worn by everybody, right? They complement their respective super soldier. Even so, the only real advantage of the Mjolnir armor might be the integrated AI (which is banned in 40k). That's about it. 40k power armor is way more durable though and offers all the gadgets like HUD, communications, body fluid recycling, stimulants and medication, air-tight sealing, strength enhancement etc. And that's just the basic version of power armor, mind you.
To be fair, 40k shouldn't be in the video to begin with. I don't care how it works no military has ever in the face of history has ever thought to simply add 'body fluid recycling' option within the marine uniform. That's nonsense even beyond thought.
Remember, Marines are expected to be able to fight for days at a time without stopping. They're not just soldiers, they are, for the most part, the be-all-end-all "let's finish this," soldiers that you send in to make sure that the forces on the ground are absolutely positively dead. 40K is filled with Marines holding locations for days at a time- Deathwing Master Belial, for example, exalted himself by fighting orks nonstop for more than a *day.* **That** is why they include body fluid recycling.
JustAnotherCommenter I say its idiotic because even the U.S. army doesn't care about body fluid. You're in a war zone. None should care, because the military doesn't see it as a threat.
Recycling it means that Marines can survive without resupply in the field for *two weeks.* I'd say that that's a pretty decent upside just from including a little extra in your already tricked out power armour suits.
Welcome to factions compared, where Ecks picks his favorite and then tries to justify it. Literally everything the Spartan armor can do is done better by Astartes power armour. Including the reasons you gave for why Mjolnir armor is better. Increasing strength, durability, etc. Ecks is a Halo and SW fan and does little research into 40k (there's a lot of it, after all) and it shows. Just about every time 40k is compared to any other setting parts of 40k must be omitted or misrepresented because otherwise it would not be fair. Everything in 40k is OP when compared to any other setting, but not when compared to things in its own setting, that's the point. To paraphrase a youtuber whose name I can't remember "40k is a constant cycle of 'That seems way too powerfu- Oh never mind it's dead"
You know what you are right. This is so true. I was wondering why all of his videos came off this way and you are right. He definitely is heavily biased against warhammer. Imagine making a video comparing space fleets and thinking that the IOM doesn’t have an equivalent to the the Death Star. Screw the bias, I just wished he had a remotely informed opinion on 40k before he made these videos. If you know anything about the setting all you see are glaring errors.
I expected 40k to be number 1, not becaouse its "too op" but because its thick with tough metals and a space marine still has speed. Although i can imagine it at number 2.
MyDuck IsOnQauck the fact you need miniaturized missile bullets to effectively destroy Astartes power armor says a lot about the durability and effectiveness. You need like a couple dozen Guardsmen consistently firing at the Space Marine to even dent the armor and said SM would have to stand still and not move for that to even happen.
I agree. Power Armor is rockin', but it doesn't offer terribly much more to the user than lots of protection. Imagine a proper Spess Muhrine wearing properly fitted MJOLNIR amor, though.
Worth noting that 40k Space Marines even before without their armor are often misrepresented outside of the official novels. Death of Hope is the most accurate attempt to represent the sheer physicality of them in a video. For context, they are so fast and sharp that they cause a phenomenon called Transhuman Dread since people literally can't process something that big being so fast and graceful. Incidentally, do a bodyguards video with the Custodes. The 40k Emperor's guard are absolute monsters even by the setting standards. Good video overall. I agree that while a single Marine can probably slaughter a Spartan Fireteam, his armor is not as much a force-magnifier relative to where he started of.
ivan ivanovitch ivanovsky very true which is unfortunate because the actual licensed games and videos do a horrific job at describing what happens in the books. Fanmade or no, Death of Hope shows their physicality rather well.
Witchfall erm, did I make a spelling mistake? I really do not post often but I confess that I am uncertain what I said that was so amusing. I agreed with the point of the video with the slight caveat that they are not as cumbersome as some of the comments seemed to believe.
The Tanshuman Dread is usually more of an Eldar thing. The only examples I can think of where it applies to Space Marines in official sources is when they end up in fights without the encumbrance of armor.
Space marine armor is far better than all on this list also the mark 10 Taticus is a Primaris marine armor and they are 12ft tall on average but normal adeptus astartes who have not under go the Primaris upgrades are 8ft average Also halo’s armor is not even competition to warhammer I have an feeling that the only reason you chose Halo for number one was because you are tired of warhammer winning all the time
Space Marine armor has team communication, various sensors, a HUD, etc. But Space Marine power armor is special because of a Space Marine's black carapace. Standard 40k power armor isn't as cool. Spartan Armor > Standard Imperium Power armor makes sense, but Space Marine power armor has the same supporting systems as Spartan armor [save for the AI slot because AI is bad.]
The best excuse I can think of is that Astartes power armour requires you to have the black carapace for it to function fully. I absolutely believe it's better than Spartan Armour, but I guess points to the Spartans for not requiring a major surgery just to be able to wear the thing...
+Mikazuchi spartans do require extensive augmentations to wear it...even the gen2 (though spartan 4 augmentations have a so far zero percent failure rate and are far less drastic in most aspects).
Could be, but he said that even Spartan IV's still require some level of enhancement to use the armor and we were talking about just the armor and nothing about the person wearing it... So... I mean.. the best argument I can see is a Spartan can walk through an open door while a Space Marine is more likely to have to walk through the doorway Kool-Aid style.
True, I'm just stretching. Honestly I'm just not seeing a situation that could make Spartan armour better than Marine armour. The Marine armour is just bigger, harder and can function for way longer.
Neural lace makes the armour react before the wearer and is far from fatal. It makes Mjolnir into a second skin to the Spartans. The Black Carapace is honestly a shit system in comparison.
If we go by design alone I just love halos power armor. Atleast before 343 took over. It's so slim and looks great. I never enjoyed the look of 40k or fallout 4's armor due to how big they were. But it makes sense atleast in 40k why you need big buff poweramor because things will want to kill you. Everything in 40k is dangerous.
Bonzi Buddy I'm not so sure. It's energy reserves deplete pretty damn quickly, and without maximum armor turned on, regular humans can knock you out with their fists.
well i can understand why he didn't include iron man : first it's specialized for 1 man, whereas here we're talking army/soldiers armors (i mean kinda mass produced), second there is a LOT of iron man armors and tony will have the intelligence to make one specialized for the case. So my point is iron man is nor really comparable to other armors. But for crysis and starcraft, yeah at least a mention would have been nice ;).
Stands seem more like Pokemon types, all have advantages and disadvantages, while the force seems more like Dragonball Power Level, the greater amount equals the stronger.
Okay I think one thing to consider when looking at "the best Power Armor", that Eckharts got right, is that its not about strongest (duh 40k because its space fantasy) but what it actually does. Spartan armor increases the strength of the wearer x5, thats what makes it impressive and worth being called "best" not strongest. If someone is seriously saying that Space Marine power armor increases the strength of the wearer x5, then bullshit. You're either telling me that a space marine without armor is weak, or literally nothing makes sense. They should be able to pick up dreadnoughts if it increases their already crazy strength by five. But instead they get killed by an ork with an arm diameter only 1' wide..
Okay, a bit late but here goes. In armor space marines are capable of lifting weights in excess of a ton, that is with the armor and 200+ without it due to their own biological enhancements what makes sure that even if they aren't in armor they are going to be a problem. The armor also might have a shield, depending on the addons of it. They are also extremely resiliant to most things they go against. Also if orks believe in something it will happen

Wouldn't mind seeing any of these, but if 3 is chosen, I expect 40k to win if it gets Ursarkar E. Creed. No other commander in fiction, at least that I know of, is able to hide a walker the size of a 3-story house behind a bush that barely reaches it's "ankle."
The BEST power armor in the 40k universe is the Terminator Armor. Every Marine would be equipped with it if the empire had the knowledge and ressources necessary to mass produce them. That actually was the plan at the end of the great Crusade but than Horus happened. And no the Power Armour is not the best mix. 5 Brothers in Terminator Armour are a huge problem even for a whole company in "lesser armour", even so only the best of the best are getting these absolut units of armor.
You say the Guardsmen are supposed to be dead? Now that's fucking stupid. Why does everyone keep thinking about the Space Marines as if they were the only fighting force the Imperium has?

Neverthless why create that armor with that con during the resource wars? "Spartan 4's are just as effective as spartan 2's" then why did Locke get his ass kicked by a near 50 year old spartan?
Master Chief ain't your typical Spartan.
They were also both wearing Gen 2 armor
Because Chief is more experienced. That’s the main factor in a fight. If you put two boxers in a ring, one of them more experienced, chances are the more experienced fighter will win because they have more muscle memory.
Spartan 4s are not Spartans in my book
Spartan 3s and 2s had actually spartan training where as a normal person could just say he's loyal and he'd get new organs and armor

Here is my personal opinion,
Pitting fallout against the other universes what flat out unfair. The fallout universe is more advanced than our world yes, but looking at all the other universes they are little bugs. Fallouts power armor is very advanced for the game but compared to the power armor they have in star wars or halo makes it look like a old world artifact (which it already is mind you)
I understand their may have been complications between not having another universe to base it off of and the fact that fallout is one of the most popular gaming franchises but it just doesn't make sense to me.
not that advaned in compairson there computers and aircraft suck
Yet even though fallout power armour is basic in comparison it can survive tank rounds , artillery shells, plasma weapons laser weapons and railgun fire just to put that in retrospect most star wars alloys/armor droids included cant survive slug rounds aka bullets and even spartan and space marine armour takes damage from the same thing so I think it a fair comparison but I think it should have been higher on the list.
for the other universe he could've chosen the marine from starcraft
They're also not spacefaring. Don't put spacefaring races against non-spacefaring races.
I totally argree with that
If you wanna make things really wild, throw the nanosuit from crysis into the mix.
What about Warframe or the suits from Edge of Tomorrow.

John Doughnuts The Warframe isn't powered armor
Yes it is
oh thanks did not know that but it's a form of hi-tech armor right?

Jup. And I still come back to this long buried piece of lore to mourn it's loss

For example look at soroita, they are humans in power armor and get killed in thousends with ease.
greetings from germany
that's the same fatal flaw as Spartan arm
Wayofswords It's also one of it's biggest strengths as well. Sort of double-edged sword.
Mjolnir is also connected to the user's nervous system IIRC
Kevin Kye How much of that reaction time is the armour and how much of it is the marine?
Heh. I just had a glorious mental image of a Space Wolf hearing an AI in his armor talking to him.
why not *terminator armor*
Halo can keep the speed advantage, I want to be more tank.

@@valynazvalkynaz5375 A space marine in his armor is practically impossible to injure with a lasgun (a laser gun), and in order for it to injure said space marine, it would have to hit a few very small weak spots in the armor (which all armor has, ie the underarms). Not particularly no.
@@thesocialistsarecoming8565 oh then please enlighten me on how the worst super solider ever is better than a space marine
@@DCPTF2 spartan of 180kg has about the same strength multiplier as a SM, 4x body weight. So a SM of 320kg can manipulate 1350kg. Both tactical astartes armor and mjolnir gen 1 multiply strength by x2. However gen2 mjolnir multiplies ckoser to x4. Giving a 180kg spartan in gen2 mjolnir a lift of 2800kg as opposed to a SM's 2700. A spartan can run at 100kmph and sprint in excess of 100kmph, as opposed to your average SM speed of 80kmph. A spartans bones are layered with nano grafted ceramic, and are effectively indestructible by newtonian forces (torque included). They have enhanced night vision to appx gen 5 night vision (put a single lightbulb in a gigantic cavern, and they see well enough to coordinate a multipronged assault on rafters using hand signals [just on the bio enhancement, no mjol ir boosting], they also have i think 100-200/20 vision (they could read off a sheet of paper at 100 to 200 feet)). They are trained from a younger age than SM's and are practically genetically perfect individuals. They have literally been in their fireteams since day1 of training, which puts them on teamwork parity with SM squads that have been doingntheir schtick for 50 odd years. Spartans are trained something inbetween a SM and a commissar, and are capable of leading mixed squads. All in all, they're about on par with a SM of the same age, in some cases better.
@@DCPTF2 and other than all that, spartans are way easier to make, and almost as effective.
@@thesocialistsarecoming8565 based on the Spartans Track record i would hardly call then as effective as a Space marine the Astartes conquer planets a meanwhile your average spartan can barley hold off an invasion till they can run away, and on the subject of traning (as for your other comment i will add it here to save space) unlike Spartans who are just given their amour after a few years of training (especailly Gen 4s, unless you want to argue they are as powerful as a Space Marine) Space Marines Train for decades in the Scout companies, the Assault company and Devastator Company before they are allowed to join their Brothers in the Tactical Squads and most of this training unlike the Spartans is done out in the field where there is a high risk of Death, in the subject of Armour speeds a spartan may be faster but without a fancy shield they can be taken down by standard rifles (a good example is Cat from reach one shot and she was dead) meanwhile a standard suit of Mark VII Aquila armour can tank most forms of small medium and some Heavy weapons i doubt a small speed lose is going to affect a Space marine much.
It's 40k... It's always 40K.

Have you read The Fall of Reach? It provides some stats on the armor, at least if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, though.
+Invictus
you _Are_ told how the armour makes the user stronger Liquid metal crystal piezoelectric layer (a layer made of a fictional material) in the armour deforms when exposed to an electrical charge (something some real life materials can do too just not as well as this fictional material)
we are also told what the armour is made of, we know of medical subsystems like bio foam injectors, we know it can seal off sections of the suit if breached, a gel layer that protects against kinetic damage and high pressure environments; not mentioning the fail safe detonators, micro fusion reactors computer systems etc.
what do we know of the space marine armour meanwhile? just a bit less...its a bit more simple and more focused on just being an armour and life support system, it has no AI port or anything like that unlike later sets of armour in halo (as AI is not used by the space marines) and the strength amplification system is a bit more simple relying on solid fibres.
also even for a broad 2.30m tall astrates moving in the armour is impossible...the plates would prevent proper movement; this is due to 40k intentionally following an old sci-fi (and fantasy) trope where soldiers have unrealistically large armour on the shoulders.
But the horror, man... Poor Alcatraz
@Psychometrics
Honestly, the tech that humanity had during the Dark Age of Technology was so advanced that even the Eldar and Orks didn't mess with humanity (and the few times they did it supposedly didn't end well for them). So the Speranza, on its own, *_transported the Eldar ship back in time AND space to its previous location so it would be destroyed._* And, thus, the Farseer didn't see *_that coming._*
If humanity still had DAoT tech in the 41st millennium, basically nothing except perhaps Chaos (which was the likely downfall of humanity by making the Men of Iron go rogue since Chaos can and do infect computer systems - there's entire parts of Mars just infected with rogue war machines that are like 20,000 years old and things laying dormant that, trust me, you want to remain dormant) could stop us.
They have a super weapon that can blow up a star in any point of the galaxy at any given time, if they lose they can litterllly go "fuck it" and blow up the entire milky way.
Why do people even make these videos. The astartes win. They always win.

i sense some bias or some lack of information here...
While in the Dark Heresy RPG books the "light" power armor gave the wearer the unnatural strength 1 trait(+1 strength).max agility 40. armor 7
I guess the Spartan armor would be like the light power armor with better agility and a refactor field.
I never like the name Mjolnir for the armor.

In my opinion it is only became a stronger armor because a literal angry mf is wearing it.
Space Marines win in situations that Spartans would lose
Space Marines wouldn't have lost Reach!
Perhaps it's 'best armour' in relation to the wearer? Like, a Space Marine's suit is powerful, but they go from 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior' to 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior with armour plating' whereas Mjolnir considerably ups the abilities of the Spartan inside it.
sooo Luxray did you not read what he said? Power armor already boost the abilities of the Space Marine. Just like the spartan armor but way more.
MJOLNIR Armor isn't as good at protecting the user against melee and energy weapons
Had Noble Six been wearing an Imperial version of Power Armor he would have lasted longer
Imperium Power Armor has nothing on Dark Eldar Power Armor (worn by the Incubi)
Incubi Power Armor does not slow the user down at all yet offers the same protection as Space Marine Power Armor!
Had Noble Six been wearing TERMINATOR Power Armor...
...it would have taken several airstrikes from the Covenant Ships to take him out!
This is quite an unfair comparison, mainly due to the universes were working with, and time periods, people in the fallout universe had about only about what ? 220 years to build power armor, and progress was halted for about 150 years, and resumed for a few years before the destruction of the enclave, meaning advancements were next to none, comparing that with other universes Here progress wasnt halted, for about 400 years at the minimum, its just plain stupid
Still in the games, wearing power armor for the first time made you feel like a god amongst men, because unlike warhammer or halo( dunno much about star wars, so please educate me) almost no one has access to power armor, in most games, you find like what, the brotherhood, and another organisation which uses power armor frequently( mainly the enclave and its remnants) while in other games, almost everyone has this tech, which basically waters down the fight to has more skill
Great vid anyways👍🏻, but i would love to see a comparison on how each set fairs in its own universe, instead of comparing them directly to each other
The sad thing is that he doesn't even know anything behind each Power Armor (f.e., he said : "We have X0-1, Enclave Hellfire and Advanced Power Armor)

Seriously you take a spartan and come in warhammer40k and you die by a orks with a medium axe in 3 sec 🪓

Yeaaaahhhh I really wonder which one will win

SIKE!!!
Super Tactical Droid halo won
Batman Who laughed Yeah I noticed. I was making a joke of how completly overpowered anything in 40k is honestly rather than a real prediction.
Super Tactical Droid i mean, I would have bet money on warhammer, but no I was wrong [pretty bitter actually]

You haven't heard of the *nanosuit 2.0* a black mamba
Leonard tha God, Crysis right? I'm not really into skin tight stuff. Armor made of metal is what I like.
+Andrew Walli
if am not mistaken the sisters of battle have a weaker version of the armour....less strength, less speed and likely less durability; sensors, tracking systems, communications etc are also standard on Spartan armour...though some sets may have these systems better then others and with AI or satellite assistance more effective or even predictive use can be made of it.
Also forgetting stuff like the auto-medicae system, the nutrient recycling system, and all the other little upgrades that turn a space marine from a soldier in armour into a demigod of war.
Which Sci-Fi Faction has the BEST POWER ARMOR? *crosses out Stormtroopers before video starts*
Thorgrim_Grudgebearer stormtrooper armour isn’t power armour but it is bloody good infantry armor. Emperor knows a lasgun wouldn’t touch it
I mean wooden spears at low speeds punch through it.
well played sir
I love the entry on Dark Trooper armor in The Imperial Handbook
It's basically the guy who made the phase 1 and 2 armors going "noooo you can't just use guns, they're dishonorable!'
i just cannot hate the steampunk style of the Fallout serie Power Armor, so even if not the best the t-51b is a masterpiece
"anyone can make up anything and call it canon."
lolno
Red Heron Gaming doesn't change the fact that it happened. Astartes armor is superior to these others, deal with it.

"Fallout Soldiers"
How you ever even played a fallout game?
Regular Sci-Fi power armor: big boi
Halo power armor: normal size dude with metal armor plates
I mean, an average of 7ft isn't too bad compared to 9ft
Its interesting, arguably the mjolnir is the most realistic in terms of application. I mean why slap on more armor when you can just make a better shield and only keep enough armor to absorb shock and the occasional round?
Yes, 7.5 feet tall is ‘normal’ sized. Master Chief isn’t even the biggest Spartan 2 and he’s 9 feet tall with armor.
how about the granddaddy of all power armor, the classic starship troopers. it falls from space, can hover/skate and almost fly with jumps of hundreds of meters. it can run at high speed too comparable to any car. it usually doesnt have any direct projectile weaponry like guns but its loaded with a flamethrower, many missiles, and bombs and its not uncommon for them to carry small nukes. their strength is practically a gorilla. the protection was decent against radiation but directed energy weapons like lasers could pierce it. power and life support could last for hours and was easily rechargeable. it had its own built in radar with HUD and multiple comm circuits. all of this was written in the 1950s too.
Not to conflict with your point or anything, but WH40K (Warhammer) was created before Starship Troopers, and Starship Troopers is actually inspired by it.
Starship troopers 1959 - Warhammer 40k 1987
I think he was actually thinking about Starcraft when he made that comment.
Which is absurd - I'm pretty sure the commenter (like me) actually read the book, and knows that what we saw in the movie was a diminutive travesty.
"COME ON YOU APES, YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER!?!"

Aight eck, with the wh40k power armour you didnt mention what the power armour does to its users (atleast i dont think)
"electrically motivated fibre bundles that replicate the movements of the wearer and supplement his strength" " linking the wearer's nervous system to his suit's mind impulse controls, turning the suit into a second skin that moves with all the speed and precision of the Battle-Brother's own body"
Well said, seems eck didnt want to research that much in this video for some of the power armours
The following are some features that come with 40k power armor, from TRPG deathwatch rulebook.
"Servo-Augmented Musculature: +20 Strength
Auto-senses: Dark Sight, immune to Photon Flash and Stun Grenades
Built-in Vox Link
Built-in Magboots
Nutrient Recycling: Can operate for two weeks without re-supply
Recoil Suppression: May fire Basic weapons 1-handed without penalty
Poor Manual Dexterity: Delicate tasks suffer a -10 penalty, unless using
equipment designed for Space Marines
Osmotic Gill Life Sustainer: With the helmet on, the armour is environmentally sealed"
超高校級の死神 thats it?
That's the stuff that has a direct impact on the mechanics of the RPG. Honestly, I'm a 40K fanboy, but Power Armor isn't that awesome. Space Marines are awesome, and they make Power Armor awesome. By itself, it's solid, damn good, and anyone should want it, but it definitely isn't everything that some people think it is. It's more like the vehicle that delivers the ass-kicking that is an Astartes to his enemies intact, so that he may kick their asses.
You forgot the auto-medicae that shocks the Space Marine wide awake if he gets stunned longer that 6 seconds.
40k fans mad because 40k ain't first
A standard space marine bolter can rip a hole in any other power armor on that list lmao
I respect the list I love fallout power armor but it's obvious where it would be because all the other armor on this list is more advanced then the fallout universe and it has a unfair chance agents extremely hight tech armor from halo 40K and star wars
William_BroBrine I was thinking the same thing
Which Armor has more protection against modern assault rifles, Mjonir or Fallout Power Armor?
Could twenty soldiers with M-16s kill a Spartan?
The thing about about Fallout Powered Armor is that it's a lot more realistic than the other ones and closer to real life attempts to create powered armor...but it has the drawbacks of that realism as well so it could never beat suits that somehow keep both speed and mobility through technobabble.
William_BroBrine fallout power armor is the only armor an average person can use, all the others would kill an average user.
longrange 717 Agreed, other version of power armor require the user to be augmented in varies level which also kinda suck. If I want to use a power armor, I would still pick one from Fallout.
And Space Marine would require you to be modified since birth, no normal human can just become a space marine.
Space marine armor is powered, thats what the backpack is...power source. C'mon Eck, get some 40k codexes. The 40k world is cranked to 11
The reason you're saying this is due to the EU being represented as a ridiculous landscape that sounds to idiotic to be true. No offense to 40k but that's the basic truth.
Warhammer 40k wi- Oh...
It might have won if he used Terminator armor.
Built like a tank, with teleportation, super-duper strength, and special shielding... but slow.
Then again, Halo's armor was actually pretty good.
I think I understand.
"specialty" rather than "elite"
Surprised you didn't include the space marine armor from legendary Starcraft franchise, that would be my go to futuristic armor if I had a pick.
Love the WH40K power armor but one'd have to undergo an enhancing transhuman process (and survive it) in order to wear one.
Yeah armor in this video are all good but it doesn't matter if you go up against Obi wan in any of these HE IS THE HIGH GROUND
I don't think that his stupid flashlight can pen an Astartes power armor.
Just get Melkore or Sauron to own any of them on their own
you do now this is Sauron we are talking about the orgs won't even get near him let alone touch him. HE IS SAURON HE IS EQUAL TO GOD int hat universe and he would just come back as he can't die!!!
you do realize the Valor can wipe them out with easy with there massive powers and if you dont know Melkor created orks and can erase them with the wave of his hand thats all he has to do and the forerunner are also nothing to Valor the infection will bow to the might of the Valor
you need to find out what a Valor is
Space marine is deadlier than 3-4 spartans even without his armor. Good luck in killing him without heavy weapon even with a headshot.
BIGGESTblade thats not the point of this video and no a squad of Spartan would be able to take down a single Marine
King Crimson Without armor... possibly. With armor? Hahahahaha!
Yo the body fluid recycling comes from Dune.
The name your looking for is Kirioth
You know what you are right. This is so true. I was wondering why all of his videos came off this way and you are right. He definitely is heavily biased against warhammer.
Imagine making a video comparing space fleets and thinking that the IOM doesn’t have an equivalent to the the Death Star.
Screw the bias, I just wished he had a remotely informed opinion on 40k before he made these videos. If you know anything about the setting all you see are glaring errors.
@@zachdunn6701 I remember when he did a video comparing space marines from different franchises, and used imperial guard for 40k.
@@SarthorS wtf? Actually?
@@zachdunn6701 Yup, if I remember right he was comparing regular 40k guardsmen against Spartans and Starcraft space marines.
I expected 40k to be number 1, not becaouse its "too op" but because its thick with tough metals and a space marine still has speed. Although i can imagine it at number 2.
MyDuck IsOnQauck hmmm
MyDuck IsOnQauck the fact you need miniaturized missile bullets to effectively destroy Astartes power armor says a lot about the durability and effectiveness. You need like a couple dozen Guardsmen consistently firing at the Space Marine to even dent the armor and said SM would have to stand still and not move for that to even happen.
I agree. Power Armor is rockin', but it doesn't offer terribly much more to the user than lots of protection. Imagine a proper Spess Muhrine wearing properly fitted MJOLNIR amor, though.
Why though? Space Marines have the abilities times 100X of MJOLNIR armour in their bodies/genes already. Isn't that redundant?
How about Sisters of Battle in their power armor.
No longer a question of super humans in armor, but normal humans in ability-boosting power armor
Good video. WH40K roflstomps Halo armor though
Tyler Raxter Terminator armour ftw.
But the chief can beat any space marine
See that? That's bait.
The lowest tier of bait as well.
DariusMakesContent Go to the fucking corner and stay there.
Curious Inquisitor iv never laughed so hard in my life
ivan ivanovitch ivanovsky very true which is unfortunate because the actual licensed games and videos do a horrific job at describing what happens in the books.
Fanmade or no, Death of Hope shows their physicality rather well.
Witchfall erm, did I make a spelling mistake? I really do not post often but I confess that I am uncertain what I said that was so amusing. I agreed with the point of the video with the slight caveat that they are not as cumbersome as some of the comments seemed to believe.
space marine caramel dance.
critical brain error.
The Tanshuman Dread is usually more of an Eldar thing. The only examples I can think of where it applies to Space Marines in official sources is when they end up in fights without the encumbrance of armor.
Space marine armor is far better than all on this list also the mark 10 Taticus is a Primaris marine armor and they are 12ft tall on average but normal adeptus astartes who have not under go the Primaris upgrades are 8ft average Also halo’s armor is not even competition to warhammer I have an feeling that the only reason you chose
Halo for number one was because you are tired of warhammer winning all the time
Space Marine armor has team communication, various sensors, a HUD, etc.
+Mikazuchi
spartans do require extensive augmentations to wear it...even the gen2 (though spartan 4 augmentations have a so far zero percent failure rate and are far less drastic in most aspects).
Tactical dreadnought armour. The end
No Crysis?
Wyatt Morin I WAS GUNNA COMMENT THAT!
I mean, let’s face it - the Nanosuit outclasses these by orders of magnitude.
Bonzi Buddy I'm not so sure. It's energy reserves deplete pretty damn quickly, and without maximum armor turned on, regular humans can knock you out with their fists.
No Crysis, no Starcraft and no Iron Man...
well i can understand why he didn't include iron man : first it's specialized for 1 man, whereas here we're talking army/soldiers armors (i mean kinda mass produced), second there is a LOT of iron man armors and tony will have the intelligence to make one specialized for the case. So my point is iron man is nor really comparable to other armors. But for crysis and starcraft, yeah at least a mention would have been nice ;).
Ok odd request but stands vs the force
Pajamapants Jack that would be ... a very unique scenario

Well said
ya but master chief is master chief
Dude a orcs can make shit happen as long they collectively believe it will
Okay, a bit late but here goes.
Some Spartans have been able to hold above their head 2.5 tons so...
A space marine is equivalent to a brute chieftain in Jiralhanae power armour.

My fellow halo fans. remember that hes just talking solely about the armor. not the LEGEND in the armor
yeah, if we were including the actual ppl wearing the armor then Warhammer40K would have one by a landslide
halo is best because
master chief is master chief
The BEST power armor in the 40k universe is the Terminator Armor. Every Marine would be equipped with it if the empire had the knowledge and ressources necessary to mass produce them. That actually was the plan at the end of the great Crusade but than Horus happened. And no the Power Armour is not the best mix. 5 Brothers in Terminator Armour are a huge problem even for a whole company in "lesser armour", even so only the best of the best are getting these absolut units of armor.
They are a problem to an entire planetary invasion force

Imperial Guardsmen They probably saved you because:
