      EckhartsLadder Spartan 4's had the most augmentations out of all the other Spartan generations, the main disadvantage they had against the other Spartan generations was raw physiological strength which was supposed to be compensated by the mjolnir gen 2 platform. They also were well trained being instructed by Spartan 2's and 3's, which supplemented the skills they had developed as soldiers before being recruited into the Spartan program.

      Spartan 2s are on a completely different level. Also the fight should have ended a lot more quickly for Locke, because canon masterchief is taught in like twenty martial arts, so the fight would be quite kick-heavy. Also, Spartans age a lot more slowly. They can continue fighting at the age of 100 (for Spartan IV), and have a life expectancy of 200 years. That isn’t even shedding light on the Spartan IIs, however.

    Here is my personal opinion,
    Pitting fallout against the other universes what flat out unfair. The fallout universe is more advanced than our world yes, but looking at all the other universes they are little bugs. Fallouts power armor is very advanced for the game but compared to the power armor they have in star wars or halo makes it look like a old world artifact (which it already is mind you)
    I understand their may have been complications between not having another universe to base it off of and the fact that fallout is one of the most popular gaming franchises but it just doesn't make sense to me.

    You're right, Space Marine armor doesn't restrict their movement, it ENHANCES it.
    Unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that comparing any universe to 40k is trivial, the scale and power the lore encompasses is just a totally different level than others.
    Everything 40k is about survival of mankind against enemies these other universes would just be obliterated in facing...
    40K power armor is vastly superior in every way, let alone Terminator armor. I mean, tank? How about a walking weapons platform with the firepower of a tank and the armor of a mech while still being agile enough to tear your face off.
    Sure, there are enemies that tear them apart, but omg could you imagine a Tyranid Hive Fleet finding the Star Wars universe? FEEDING FRENZY!
    40k is overpowered compared to others because the ENTIRE universe is on a totally incomparable scale and power to any other sci fi entity in esistence. The Imperium is "overpowered" vs Halo or Star Wars because it faces threats that would wipe out the other universes in minutes.

    Mjolnir is the funniest. Hear me out first.
    Unlike the others, Mjolnir armour is directly linked to the user’s CNS, meaning that the suit can do things without the user’s thought. The problem is that the user has to manually calibrate the force put into actions, meaning that if they’re not careful, the suit could overreact to a simple task. This is what happened to the Spartans upon receiving their armour. They had no idea what to do and ended up being a bunch of children.
    I shit you not the Master Chief. That’s right: GREENY MC SPACEARMOUR KNOCKED HIMSELF OUT BY SALUTING TO HARD! Also, they hadn’t calibrated shields so the Spartans slid around like they were on ice until the shields were recalibrated.

    If I remember correctly there’s a long buried piece of Halo lore that says the Gen II Mjolnir system is actually worse than Gen I. To operate Gen I the Spartans required specially reworked and coated bone structures and neural linkages to their armor. The reaction speed and haptic response of the Gen I killed its non-spartan test pilot. So it’s abilities had to be reduced for the spartan IVs who didn’t receive the augmentations required to operate the armor in the originally intended manner. In addition it’s neural link seems to be missing on spartan IVs, leading me to believe it’s a muscular response amplification system rather than a neural response amplification system, which means slower reaction times and decreased power overall.

    There is no question that if a space marine and spartan fought a space marine would win however thats not the qustion here guys. I think it would have been better to compare the armor in its own universe rather then with each other. If thats the case then I agree compeletly that Mjolnir suits work perfectly for its setting as Space marine armor while good will regulary get pierced by bolters of their own universe which we all have to admit right now The Imeprium of Man Weaponry is a shitload more stronger then Unsc Weaponry to begin with.
    Comparing it to each other I still think Space marine power armor is the best. It does everything Mjolnir does but better, minus the energy shields and AI enhancments. Not only will Space marine armor protect you better but give you more strength on top of it. The only thing i can say that Mjolnir does better is better speed but thats a little iffy as we get cases where space marines slap bolter shells out of the air in reaction time alone. The armor gives you auto targeting with weapons like bolters as we get also get scenes where space marines are also able to shoot a target miles away but also ricotchet the bolt and kill the target behind armor while at it.
    Again if we are comparing it strictly according to its own setting Mjolnir hands down but When comparing it to each other I still have to give it to the Astartes Power Armor

    You actually left out one of Fallout power armor’s main selling points: anybody can use it, so long as they could fit in it. Now, before anybody brings up the “training” requirement from Fallouts 3 and New Vegas, this mechanic was purely added to keep the player from easily getting access to power armor early. In the 2D Fallout games this wasn’t an issue as power armor was very rare and hard to get early, and both Fallout 4 and 76 rebalanced power armor to allow for its use early on with the tradeoffs in terms of maintenance requirements. It can also be maintained using equipment found in an automotive garage, judging by the use of an engine hoist as a ‘power armor work station’ in Fallout 4. Consequently, Fallout’s power armor is the most user-friendly set on the list.

It was added solely as a game mechanic to keep you from getting access to power armor early, since you could loot power armor off of dead Brotherhood personnel pretty early on in Fallout 3, whereas in Fallouts 1 and 2, if you wanted power armor you either had to wait until the story wanted you to have it (as there were only a couple of suits, invariably in late-game locations), or if you didn't want to wait, either spec into sneaking to steal one, or be prepared for one hell of a firefight if you just wanted to take it by force.

    People in the comments defending space marines seem to forget one thing. The armor in halo isn't as durable as space marine armor. So even though gen 4 Spartans move faster, they are less resilient to damage.
    My advice for EckhartsLadder is to leave 40k alone, as it will win almost every single time. Plus he doesn't do much research on 40k.

    • @valynazvalkynaz5375
      @valynazvalkynaz5375 5 лет назад +3

      I'm here as a neutral party but durability and pros and cons for the armors depends on many factors doesnt it like materials it's made of as well and how its implemented into the armor. Like how the bulkiness of the 40k armor and curvature allows for bullets to occasionally bounce off and it taking more damage because of that factor as well while the mjolnir armor has the bonus of everything on it being made of extremely strong metals to the point the body suit Spartans wearing being made of titanium threading meaning average or weaker types of bullets dont do as much damage as the armor piercing bullets used in the unsc. There are also other factors like how the 40k armor is good with interplanetary survival due to how they are designed to handle hazardous environments as good as they can handle normal environments as well. And the halo armor is designed to handle most if not all types of environments including zero gravity and even the vacuum of space which comes in Handy when they're in space battles against the covenant. I dont know how well 40k armor handles up to plasma and energy based weapons though so I can't judge it against halo armor though I feel like without shielding both may be near the same in weakness to plasma and energy weapons though with halo armor having shields fir their armor it allows for some extra defense against plasma and energy weapons and the materials of the armor itself allowing it to take a few extra hits or so. That's where star wars armor does come in handy as clone and storm trooper armor was designed to be effective against blaster fire so people in it can take hits and not due instantly but those armors are extreamely weak to projectile based weapons which were banned in that universe. The fallout armor was also good in the aspect of energy based attacks depending on the type of power armor. All in all I say all the armors are great in their respective universes and with halo and 40k armors being good in both their universes and each other universes depending on the scenarios they're fighting in and who theyre up against in those scenarios.

    Yeah, I can get on board with this. Even as a Total Warhammer (heh) shill, to my knowledge we don't get the same attention to detail for Space Marine armor as we do for the Mjonir sets, and I think it's safe to assume most of the bad ass factor is coming from the marine himself. Funny, despite how much Warhammer is known for sweating the details, they took arguably the most iconic part of the series and kind of just said "it's power armor, it's dope" and left it at that.

    • @TenebrusI07
      @TenebrusI07 6 лет назад +18

      Yeah if you look at it a little more closely the space marine armor really does not have adequate clearance between the plates to be practical, the shoulder plates are laughably oversized you would never be able to raise them to firing height which is something that becomes apparent when you cosplay in this stuff. Not even going to mention how the bolter has a barrel larger than the magazine that feeds it...

    • @powerflumi
      @powerflumi 6 лет назад +8

      Than i would suggest you actually looking up that stuff, especially since you are talking about Total Warhammer that hasnt anything to do with 40K in the first place. Warhammer is set in a medvial fantasy setting while 40k is set in a sci-fi setting.
      Aside from that, Halo tells you even less about the armor , in fact virtually nothing really besides that it increases your strength and what not but not how.
      As for Solid Snek, that is maybe because cosplaying as a SM is weird, Simply because the cosplayer in question would like to make it Space mariny by making the armor very broad. Problem is that a normal human would be wearing the stuff instead of a 2.30m Tall twice as brought as a normal man being Astartes.

    • @Imperialguard82
      @Imperialguard82 6 лет назад +9

      The bolter is directly integrated into the Space Marines armor so it provides a targeting cross-hairs onto the helmet. That means that a Space Marine does not need to aim down the sights of the gun. The gun is providing targeting information directly to his helmet. You see this in the Dawn of War 2 Trailer which clearly shows the Space Marine aiming with the gun at his waist.
      You see the same thing in Starcraft 2 for the C-14 gun. Since the guns are integrated with the armor they don't need sights since they are integrated into the armor. They have neither sight nor stock since they do not need neither since the gun is directly integrated into his armor.

      you _Are_ told how the armour makes the user stronger Liquid metal crystal piezoelectric layer (a layer made of a fictional material) in the armour deforms when exposed to an electrical charge (something some real life materials can do too just not as well as this fictional material)
      we are also told what the armour is made of, we know of medical subsystems like bio foam injectors, we know it can seal off sections of the suit if breached, a gel layer that protects against kinetic damage and high pressure environments; not mentioning the fail safe detonators, micro fusion reactors computer systems etc.
      what do we know of the space marine armour meanwhile? just a bit less...its a bit more simple and more focused on just being an armour and life support system, it has no AI port or anything like that unlike later sets of armour in halo (as AI is not used by the space marines) and the strength amplification system is a bit more simple relying on solid fibres.
      also even for a broad 2.30m tall astrates moving in the armour is impossible...the plates would prevent proper movement; this is due to 40k intentionally following an old sci-fi (and fantasy) trope where soldiers have unrealistically large armour on the shoulders. (though plating would interfere in other areas too, its far more restricting then medieval plate)

      Honestly, the tech that humanity had during the Dark Age of Technology was so advanced that even the Eldar and Orks didn't mess with humanity (and the few times they did it supposedly didn't end well for them). To give you an idea, the Adeptus Mechanicus has a ship that is from the Dark Age of Technology (and controlled by a sentient AI that is just sort of letting humanity use it at the moment) called the "Speranza" which is an Ark Mechanicus exploratory vessel. It has forging capabilities that put an Imperium forge world, even Mars, to shame. It was able to destroy an Eldar cruiser. The first shot (...which was a micro-black hole, I might add) missed because a Farseer on the Eldar cruiser had a vision of their own death. So the Speranza, on its own, *_transported the Eldar ship back in time AND space to its previous location so it would be destroyed._* And, thus, the Farseer didn't see *_that coming._*
      If humanity still had DAoT tech in the 41st millennium, basically nothing except perhaps Chaos (which was the likely downfall of humanity by making the Men of Iron go rogue since Chaos can and do infect computer systems - there's entire parts of Mars just infected with rogue war machines that are like 20,000 years old and things laying dormant that, trust me, you want to remain dormant) could stop us. Orks? They were already kept in check in the DAoT. Same goes for the Eldar. Necrons? Outside of warp nonsense DAoT humanity was far more advanced. Tyranids? Gone.
      The only thing that the Eldar have/had over humanity is the webway. And it's not quite clear if that's because humanity couldn't figure it out (hell, even the Emperor tried and failed) or if we just preferred warp travel since it's more versatile.

  • @Mugthraka
    @Mugthraka 6 лет назад +192

    i sense some bias or some lack of information here...
    All the reasons you have to put Mjolnir armor on first spot, the Sm Power armor has it...
    Enhance user strength, speed and durability?, yup the Astartes Power Armours does it, through the Neural connection of the armour to its wearer a power armour adds to the Space marine strength( in game terms a SM Str is 4, a Spartan would be equivalant or 3).
    In term of speed, while the Power armor enhance the SM surhuman speed, i reckon that the fact still remain that a SM power armor weights 250kg, even if the SM unnatural strength combined with the Power armor servos and systemes allows them to move like the armor weights nothing to them, its still a load of over 400kgs( since Marines weight a little under 200kg themselfs...), while the Mjolnir armour is more lightweight.
    Armors durability?, to be absolutly sure to get through a power armor, you need anti tank missiles or rockets..., everything with less firepower has more chances to bounce off then doing anything significant, and thats not factoring in the fact that SM surhuman physiques and modified organs can keep them alive even if the armor gets breached, but since you focused on the armors rather then the wearer we'll leave it at that.
    HuD interface and sensory arrays?, yup, the Power armor does it too, with the aid of a "Machine-Spirit" ( IA) that facilitate the work for the Marine, think of it has the HuD of Iron Man suits in the movies, communications, radar, lidar, infrared, you name it the Power armor does it.
    Power armors also can deliver "first aid" on the fly if the wearer is wounded, boosting the Marines surhuman healing capabilities, by injecting chemicals, adrenaline, etc and stitching the wounds that can be stitched of course or apply a gel to cover more complicated wounds that need surgical and medical attention, once the battle is over.
    And all that is in the standard issued Power armor, that not even accounting for the higher officers armors that has acces to shield generators and artificer armors that boast greater capabilities and durability.
    Also the Power armor has its own nuclear reactor to provide energy to it, wich makes power armors capable of nearly going forever...
    And then...you have the Tactical Dreadnaught Armor, or more commonly named the Terminator Armor...
    BUt the biggest down size to Astartes power armors is that, well only SPace Marines can wear them, some lesser versions of power armors exists for the Adeptus Sororitas( Sisters of Battles, or Battles Nuns...) and for some high ranking Inquisitors, but they don't have all the features that the ones used by the SM has, since they lack the neural connections and the extra organs to make it work.
    Also the tehcnological downfall of Humankind in the 40k universe, make is so that they repair and maintain existing power armors or use antiquated blueprints to make new ones, since 40k is a grimdark universe where the tehcnological advancedment of mankind went stall and even a little back wards after the Age of Strife and the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, so the number of Power armors is kinda limited, and they rarely make new variants, it takes the Techs and Mechs of the Adeptus Mechanicus centuries or even millenias to find and release new variants of existing gear because innovations is so hard and near impossible with the Monolithic and Despotic ruling if the Imperium of Man, where they considere that the Machines are governed by a God of Machines, the Omnimessiah, the Deus Ex Machina...
    And so any new findings are rigourously tested for centuries before given the green light for mass production because of that mix of Religion and Tech...

    The author, probably, is not accustomed well with WH40K Space marines armor. Otherwise it is hard to explain the selection. Space marine armor is, actually, provides all the same capabilities and more as Spartan armor - it is packed with autosenses, 3C devices and power augmentation. In addition, it allows to wield it without removal for YEARS, without resupply, without recharging - which we can see on multiple occasions (although space marines are tending to care for their armor as soon as possible). As for strength and speed, space marines armor provides incredible augmentation to their inhuman abilities, allows them to mount heavy weaponry, especially when talking about terminators (tactical dreadnoughts). So, it is at least equal to the Spartan's armor. At minimum. But the true thing is the owner-armor integration system. Space marines have implanted devices and contact points - which allows them to use their armor as second skin.

      Perhaps it's 'best armour' in relation to the wearer? Like, a Space Marine's suit is powerful, but they go from 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior' to 'Deadly bio-augmented warrior with armour plating' whereas Mjolnir considerably ups the abilities of the Spartan inside it.

      What I mean is, a Spartan outside of armour is still a well-trained, genetically modified combatant, as is a Space Marine, but the difference is that a Space Marine's armoured suit does not up the capabilities of a Marine nearly as much in comparison. To take an example, even without the suit, Marines are still capable of shrugging off bullets with their Black Carapace alone, whereas a Spartan has a significantly difference chance of survival depending on whether or not they're armoured. A Space Marine helmet grants increased targeting ability, but their own bio-augmented eyes give them insane targeting ability to begin with, while Spartans rely more heavily on their helmet for aiming (except for Linda, but she's practically meme-powered when it comes to aiming anyway...). There's no question that, looking at the suits themselves, the Space Marine armour is tougher and has more powerful hardware, but _relative to the abilities of the occupants,_ MJOLNIR has a greater impact. Sorry if I'm not communicating this well, I'm not very good at explaining.

      MJOLNIR Armor isn't as good at protecting the user against melee and energy weapons
      Had Noble Six been wearing an Imperial version of Power Armor he would have lasted longer
      Imperium Power Armor has nothing on Dark Eldar Power Armor (worn by the Incubi)
      Incubi Power Armor does not slow the user down at all yet offers the same protection as Space Marine Power Armor!
      Had Noble Six been wearing TERMINATOR Power Armor...
      ...it would have taken several airstrikes from the Covenant Ships to take him out!

    This is quite an unfair comparison, mainly due to the universes were working with, and time periods, people in the fallout universe had about only about what ? 220 years to build power armor, and progress was halted for about 150 years, and resumed for a few years before the destruction of the enclave, meaning advancements were next to none, comparing that with other universes Here progress wasnt halted, for about 400 years at the minimum, its just plain stupid
    Still in the games, wearing power armor for the first time made you feel like a god amongst men, because unlike warhammer or halo( dunno much about star wars, so please educate me) almost no one has access to power armor, in most games, you find like what, the brotherhood, and another organisation which uses power armor frequently( mainly the enclave and its remnants) while in other games, almost everyone has this tech, which basically waters down the fight to has more skill
    Great vid anyways👍🏻, but i would love to see a comparison on how each set fairs in its own universe, instead of comparing them directly to each other

      What are you talking about?
      The whole of the Halo universe has a very limited amount of Spartans and therefore a limited number of usable Mjolnir armors up until Halo 4 when Gen 4's came into the picture.
      I believe in the third game you are basically dubbed the Last Spartan alive, although later that turns out to be untrue.
      In Fallout you just need PA training to hop in a suit and take off. In Halo you literally need a complete biological overhaul only possible through dozens of medical procedures with low, something like 1 in 3, survival rates. That's not even mentioning the fact that Spartan IIs had to be kidnapped as children, indoctrinated, forced into lifelong military service, and raised as warriors only to constantly be forced to compete against one another all while these augmentations were taking place.
      In Halo you just happen to be a Spartan with a set of Mjolnir and improbable luck so it may feel as if it's nothing special but then go play Halo 3 ODST and you gain a new appreciation for Mjolnir and it's capabilities.
      Also, if you don't have those super special augmentations and try to hop in a set of Mjolnir you WILL die the most horrifyingly, excruciatingly twisted death you can imagine just by trying to move from the starting position as highlighted in Halo: Fall of Reach.

    Fallout is my favorite universe bar none, but yeah. It's almost 500 years chronologically behind the next armor. I also disagree with the halo armor besting 40k armor. Space Marines have access to systems on the power armor known as auto senses(range finders and other sensory equipment directly connected to the nervous system) , vox communication equipment, plus all the box standard increases in strength and agility. Also, you state normal people can't wear space marine armor or mjlonir armor. There's actually an entire faction in 40k who are normal people wearing power armor, the sisters of battle. They don't have access to auto senses, but still have access to enhanced strength speed and durability. I think that versatility should give it the edge to be #1. Plus auto sense are crazy.

      if am not mistaken the sisters of battle have a weaker version of the armour....less strength, less speed and likely less durability; sensors, tracking systems, communications etc are also standard on Spartan armour...though some sets may have these systems better then others and with AI or satellite assistance more effective or even predictive use can be made of it.

      Tancread of Galilee through the body glove which is meant to disperse heat? Yes. But that Body Glove in itself would render a lasgun useless. Stormtrooper armour works in two stages, the duraplast armour pieces that break kinetic momentum and the body glove that disperses energy. This armour works so well most stormtroopers you see go down in the movie are actually still alive just knocked unconscious. A lasgun might melt through or cause cracks in the plate after repeated firings but unlike blasters which are particle beams there is no kinetic force behind a lasgun.

      I don't disagree that Astartes Armor is better, but you also have to factor in that even WEARING that armor required painful surgery and a complete change of your hormonal growth (as well as basically removing your ribs) to actually wear. Halo Mjolnir and other marks require roughly similar work to be done, and for the Spartan to be picked at a young age. Star Wars armor is honestly a bit of a mess. Fallout's T-series and APA series armor requires literally a handle pull, then a thrust, and you are in. You now have nearly two tons of armor on and lots of protection. You used to have to get special training to wear it, but Fallout 4 has retconned this. I have my doubts you have played Fallout (any of them) or honestly anything other than Warhammer stuff. You sound like you are a fanboy who only wants their version of truth to be real. Get a life, please.

    how about the granddaddy of all power armor, the classic starship troopers. it falls from space, can hover/skate and almost fly with jumps of hundreds of meters. it can run at high speed too comparable to any car. it usually doesnt have any direct projectile weaponry like guns but its loaded with a flamethrower, many missiles, and bombs and its not uncommon for them to carry small nukes. their strength is practically a gorilla. the protection was decent against radiation but directed energy weapons like lasers could pierce it. power and life support could last for hours and was easily rechargeable. it had its own built in radar with HUD and multiple comm circuits. all of this was written in the 1950s too.

Spartan armour is fine for the situations Spartans get into, but it just isn't enough for the situations Space Marines get into. A Space Marine could walk through an artillery barrage and will shrug off everything but the heaviest ordnance or specifically designed anti-armour weapons. Spartans just don't pack the firepower needed or have comparable training to Space Marines. Space Marines would also reliably outrun and outshoot Spartans to a ludicrous degree, and if they ever got anywhere near close combat the Spartans would never stand a chance.
      As a fun note, if you shot a space marine with a normal pistol you wouldn't be able to kill him. His rib cage is genetically changed to be bullet proof, he has two hearts, and his skull is really only going to be damaged by a tank round. You couldn't poison him, you couldn't cut him and hope he bleeds to death, you couldn't gas him, you couldn't try to find a weak spot because he doesn't have one, and you wouldn't be close to being faster than him. 40k is a ludicrously overpowered universe that very few other fictional universes stand a chance at combatting. Halo is certainly not capable of doing it. Star Wars cannot. Fallout cannot. Do not be dumb enough to assume just because you like Spartans that they're on the level of 40k's elite soldiers.

    • @BIGESTblade
      @BIGESTblade 6 лет назад +8

      It's not overpowered, it's just logical. You are a guy from 30th mfucking millenium, if you would create a supersoldier I don't think they would be much different. Spartans are simply from the another league. Imperial stormtroopers sometimes are better equiped then spartans. And they recive roughly the same training. That's who people should compare spartans with.

    • @MarioTheLiopleurodon
      @MarioTheLiopleurodon 6 лет назад +2

      Were the forerunners on this list, they would've cleaned the floor with each supersoldier in each power armor. The Marines might give him some trouble, but with how powerful the armor is I doubt it would be too much. Forerunner armor > Astartes > Mjolnir >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the other two

  • @youtubevoice1050
    @youtubevoice1050 6 лет назад +33

    The thing is, we cannot look at the armors alone, because they cannot be worn by everybody, right? They complement their respective super soldier. Even so, the only real advantage of the Mjolnir armor might be the integrated AI (which is banned in 40k). That's about it. 40k power armor is way more durable though and offers all the gadgets like HUD, communications, body fluid recycling, stimulants and medication, air-tight sealing, strength enhancement etc. And that's just the basic version of power armor, mind you.

    • @kenkastlekausmo701
      @kenkastlekausmo701 6 лет назад

      To be fair, 40k shouldn't be in the video to begin with. I don't care how it works no military has ever in the face of history has ever thought to simply add 'body fluid recycling' option within the marine uniform. That's nonsense even beyond thought.

    • @justanothercommenter5835
      @justanothercommenter5835 6 лет назад +10

      Remember, Marines are expected to be able to fight for days at a time without stopping. They're not just soldiers, they are, for the most part, the be-all-end-all "let's finish this," soldiers that you send in to make sure that the forces on the ground are absolutely positively dead. 40K is filled with Marines holding locations for days at a time- Deathwing Master Belial, for example, exalted himself by fighting orks nonstop for more than a *day.* **That** is why they include body fluid recycling.

    • @bobharper7393

    • @kenkastlekausmo701

      JustAnotherCommenter I say its idiotic because even the U.S. army doesn't care about body fluid. You're in a war zone. None should care, because the military doesn't see it as a threat.

    • @justanothercommenter5835
      @justanothercommenter5835 6 лет назад +9

      Recycling it means that Marines can survive without resupply in the field for *two weeks.* I'd say that that's a pretty decent upside just from including a little extra in your already tricked out power armour suits.

    Welcome to factions compared, where Ecks picks his favorite and then tries to justify it.
    Literally everything the Spartan armor can do is done better by Astartes power armour. Including the reasons you gave for why Mjolnir armor is better. Increasing strength, durability, etc. Ecks is a Halo and SW fan and does little research into 40k (there's a lot of it, after all) and it shows. Just about every time 40k is compared to any other setting parts of 40k must be omitted or misrepresented because otherwise it would not be fair. Everything in 40k is OP when compared to any other setting, but not when compared to things in its own setting, that's the point.
    To paraphrase a youtuber whose name I can't remember "40k is a constant cycle of 'That seems way too powerfu- Oh never mind it's dead"

    Worth noting that 40k Space Marines even before without their armor are often misrepresented outside of the official novels. Death of Hope is the most accurate attempt to represent the sheer physicality of them in a video.
    For context, they are so fast and sharp that they cause a phenomenon called Transhuman Dread since people literally can't process something that big being so fast and graceful.
    Incidentally, do a bodyguards video with the Custodes. The 40k Emperor's guard are absolute monsters even by the setting standards.
    Good video overall. I agree that while a single Marine can probably slaughter a Spartan Fireteam, his armor is not as much a force-magnifier relative to where he started of.

    Space Marine armor has team communication, various sensors, a HUD, etc. But Space Marine power armor is special because of a Space Marine's black carapace. Standard 40k power armor isn't as cool. Spartan Armor > Standard Imperium Power armor makes sense, but Space Marine power armor has the same supporting systems as Spartan armor [save for the AI slot because AI is bad.]

    • @Mikazuchireborn
      @Mikazuchireborn 6 лет назад

      The best excuse I can think of is that Astartes power armour requires you to have the black carapace for it to function fully. I absolutely believe it's better than Spartan Armour, but I guess points to the Spartans for not requiring a major surgery just to be able to wear the thing...

      Could be, but he said that even Spartan IV's still require some level of enhancement to use the armor and we were talking about just the armor and nothing about the person wearing it... So... Okay I think one thing to consider when looking at "the best Power Armor", that Eckharts got right, is that its not about strongest (duh 40k because its space fantasy) but what it actually does. Spartan armor increases the strength of the wearer x5, thats what makes it impressive and worth being called "best" not strongest. If someone is seriously saying that Space Marine power armor increases the strength of the wearer x5, then bullshit. You're either telling me that a space marine without armor is weak, or literally nothing makes sense. They should be able to pick up dreadnoughts if it increases their already crazy strength by five. But instead they get killed by an ork with an arm diameter only 1' wide..

In armor space marines are capable of lifting weights in excess of a ton, that is with the armor and 200+ without it due to their own biological enhancements what makes sure that even if they aren't in armor they are going to be a problem. The armor also might have a shield, depending on the addons of it. They are also extremely resiliant to most things they go against. Also if orks believe in something it will happen

    The BEST power armor in the 40k universe is the Terminator Armor. Every Marine would be equipped with it if the empire had the knowledge and ressources necessary to mass produce them. That actually was the plan at the end of the great Crusade but than Horus happened. And no the Power Armour is not the best mix. 5 Brothers in Terminator Armour are a huge problem even for a whole company in "lesser armour", even so only the best of the best are getting these absolut units of armor.
