The Empire fleet at Endor vs the Covenant Fleet of Retribution. The UNSC Infinity vs Bellator class star dreadnought. Munificent-class star frigate vs Acclamator-class assault ship.
I dunno, grunts are nasty little buggers that breed like guppies and use fuel rod guns. And Jackals are anti-infantry what with their needle weapons, shields, carbines, and beam rifles. Lets not forget the fucking skirmishers.
Yes the Empire is large, no that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to defeat. The Rebels Managed to do the job almost comically easily. Now if we are being honest they took advantage of operation Cinder. All they had to do was kill Palpatine and the Empire was DESIGNED to self destruct. In a matchup between these two factions, The Empire has to locate and eliminate the Hierarchs.....The Covenant has to locate and eliminate Palpatine.
Thing is even the rebels could field thousands of ships. With 17 hundred being capital ships. The covenant just don't have the number to win. Eliminating Palpatine in this case won't even help them because they will still lose before operation cinder can go into effect and that assumes Vader doesn't prevent operation cinder from ever happening
@@saber5694 plus if we switch out the rebels with the covenant on the battle of Endor, the coveant meant could do the job way faster scene as how covenant ground troops would undoubtedly stomp any imperial ground troops
Well i dont think killing palpati would be easy all the thing that will happen is that palpy will revive again and again and again as long as lord vader is still alive glory to the empire!
The Empire wins a Total War because they can easily win a war of attrition. The Covenant just doesn't have the resources, especially when there is such parity in space tech. Superior Covenant infantry doesn't matter when you can't control space. The only way the Covenant wins is if their guerilla tactics can force the Empire into a drawn out, inconclusive, unpopular war that spawns rebellion in the Empire's territory.
@@4600norm This. It seems people often forget that even those arguing a lot can stand together against a common enemy. My nation, Poland, can be used as an example. Fractioned by the partitions in late 18th century, under occupation until 1918, disunited politicaly and economically, we've stood together against a common threat of the Bolshevik Russia in the Polish-Bolshevik war between 1919-1921 only to go back to squabling right after the war ended. We've even managed to assassinate our own president 5 days after he got elected in December 1922... And then had a coup in 1926. The situation continued into 1930s as well, but we still stood united against the Germans and Russians. And again went back to arguing after Germany capitulated and Communists took power... Another example would probably be the the Chinese Republic during the Communist revolution, when both Kuomintang and Communist parties fought against the Japanese invaders and then, later on, went back to fighting one another once WW2 ended. Common, external and most importantly strong enemy is a powerful tool in uniting even people who hate eachother with a passion. Even those who can't possibly cooperate under normal circumstances can and likely will stand together against an outside enemy if it's dangerous enough.
Thats where i think your wrong there's alot about Covenant resource that he missed like the elite invisibility The Brute strength not even just a butt how the elites all not all but most Elites we're all like assassins the elites are known for stealth they could have probably easily just snuck their way inside of a whatever the Star Wars ships haves and probably you know destroyer from the inside out that's just one example but it's a big difference because it's like I said there's just a lot of resource that he missed
There is one thing you have forgotten. The forerunner dreadnaught. That thing powers high charity with a minuscule fraction of its power. If the prophet of truth thinks it is necessary, he will use it. To put it in comparison, a single forerunner dreadnaught with no form of weaponry in the hands of the prophets gave the elites trouble. Now imagine one that is filled with weaponry. It could probably take on entire fleets with out much trouble. Although, I'd still say the empire would most likely win, the dreadnaught is more than enough to give the covenant an advantage.
Nathan Kingham but would they be willing to risk it? The dreadnought is one of, if not the most, important religious item to the Covenant short of the Halos, plus it's cultural and historical value, not to mention that it powers their holy city/capital, i doubt that they'd be willing to launch it even if High Charity were attacked directly unless, like in halo 2, the city itself had basically already been lost, and even then i doubt they'd use it offensively but more like an escape ship for the hierarchs and their honor guard, and considering i only think they'd launch it after losing HC, which likely means it's defense fleets as well, meaning a staggeringly huge portion of the empire's total population is gone along with their single largest naval force, and probably their highest ranking/skilled naval commanders, not to mention the blow to morale, they will have already long lost the war well before they ever even consider the dreadnought as a viable military option in my opinion.
NoctaliGamer it depends. Truth could have gone anywhere when high charity fell, but he chose to go to earth, where he knew the UNSC were waiting for him and SMACs. He could have waited to get a support fleet to follow the dreadnaught to make sure it was safe but he didn't. I think that in the most extreme case, like if high charity was targeted by the Death Star, it would be used. How? I don't know, but in this goal war scenario, we have to assume that the winner has to eradicate the loser, which means eradicating the dreadnaught, which isn't easy.
While beam rifle jackals are terrifying when playing the game, their range is relatively normal compared to what I found for star wars snipers. And with how unarmored the jackals are, all you need is a counter sniper with an energy shield activated until he's ready to fire.
I actually didn't hear you mention Darth Vader who would actively participate in assaults with his personal unit the 501 (same troopers who stormed the Jedi temple and took it in one night)

Covenant don't have to stop on slipspace travel. You keep going off legends for star wars. You should have made the title star wars (legends) vs the covenant.
Starlesslemon legends is considered Canon by most star wars fans. Disney changed it into a good vs evil debate where the empire is totally illogical and stupid evil and the rebels are all good natured and kind heroes and glosses over all the terrible and good things the rebels and empire did.
@@torinjones3221 I mean, I'm pretty sure we all know why the Legends isnt canon is that literary everyone is OP. You have Starkiller, who is super power Vader, who can snap someone's neck a light year away Palp: nuff said Luke: most powerful force user, nuff said And the list goes on and on. Legends is considered canon by most Star Wars fans because most of the best stories come from legends. As a Star Wars and Halo Fan, I do not consider Legends a source of canon due to how everything is overpowered because "Overpowered is cool".
I think a big piece of ground battle is the Covenant use a lot of explosive plasma energy weapons. The lore states plasma weapons have a way bigger AOE then in the games, especially things like plasma grenades and fuel rods. Not only that, but many elites have energy daggers built within the wrists of their gauntlets, and even then, most of the higher ranks also carry Energy Swords, which is like their version of the lightsaber. Not every storm Trooper is going to have a lightsaber. Then lastly, there's active camo. Covenant troops can easily rely on active camo to do surprise attacks, and can effectively use it for counter attacks as well. Religious fervor is a large factor in how hard you'll fight too.

People here are forgetting one thing. Wars are not win by battles like they were in the past. In Vietnam, the US won almost every battle, but in the words of one of their officers, it was irrelevant. The Empire would crush the Covenant with overwhelming force. Not to say the Covenant could win tactical victories, but they will feel every loss far more than the Empire would. The Empire, if it spans the galaxy, has to have millions of worlds under it's sway, and that means quadrillions of people at minimum if even a fraction of those planets are in the few billion inhabitants mark. And many planets had far larger populations than that. The Covenant can win as many battles as it needs to, but in the end, it would be bled white far quicker through the sheer logistical strength of the Empire.
Empire: they have many soldiers! Covenant: yes, we’ll throw a shadow over all we survey! Empire: *looks at the camera Michel Fassbender-ly*. Then we’ll fight in the shade.
Leotis Bennett guess u didn’t watch the movie buddy, small band of rebels kiss my ass it was the entire galaxy stand up to palpatine and he was still winning.
Uh, I think he was referring purely to the Empire during, well, the Empire’s reign. Not including that bullcrap in the rise of skywalker. I doubt including the final order would count.
Here’s an interesting “what-if” scenario: - Let the Covenant and the Empire exist in the same universe from the very beginning. - Some of the humans civilizations in the galaxy develop in the same way as the humans from Halo. (“Halo Humans”). They have the same ships, ODST, Spartans, same weapons, etc. These humans are complete separate from Empire humans and occupy a part of the galaxy far from Empire-controlled space. - Empire, Covenant, and Halo Humans develop and colonize the galaxy on relatively similar timescales. - The Halo Humans and Covenant form an alliance to fight the Empire. - Assuming similar military resources on both sides, who wins this?
It’s literally just the Empire Of Japan vs the United States Of America. Both the Covenant and Japan start off by Doing a Pearl Harbour and having good initial success but after awhile get bogged down and completely crushed by the Much larger and more industrialised power in being the Galactic Empire and United States respectively.
The winner in this matchup is really Emperor Palpatine himself if you think about it. I mean, he rules the Ge primarily through fear and scapegoating. It's a pro-human empire, and he relies on crafting a galactic-wide narrative that humans are the superior species and that all aliens must be oppressed. I mean, that's why there's basically only human stormtroopers and naval personnel. Only a few imperial military positions are held by non-humans, with the most notable being Thrawn, but even he comes off as looking like a human. Think about it a bit, but what would be the best asset for Palpatine when running his Empire? It's not expendable manpower nor the deathstar. No, it's the anti-human empire directly on his doorstep that doesn't have enough power to win a straight-up fight against him. The Covenant's mere existence would provide all the validation he needed to do basically anything. He could easily build up the navy without issue, because, hey, what if the Covies decide to invade? He could create not one, but a dozen moon-sized, planet-destroying battle stations 'just in case', and no one would bat an eye. He could even provoke a response from the Covies every now and then to get them to glass some worthless frontier world for him, just so he can run images on the holonet and say "Look what these alien fiends have done!" And literally billions of potential new Stormtrooper recruits would flock to enlistment centers across the galaxy. Not to mention it would allow him to strip alien citizens of the GE of their rights. After all, he could point to the Covenant and say that is what happens when *they* gather together; there would be no chance for alien-controlled corporations or interest groups to ever form within the GE ever again. Palpatine is way too smart to let such an opportunity as an external opponent to slip on by. He would never destroy the Covenant, even if he had the power to to do so, because they are the perfect boogeymen for his Empire. No, he'd drag the whole galaxy into a Cold War state in order to maintain power pretty much indefinitely, and no one would ever question it. After all, he's just trying to protect them all from the big bad aliens, right?
Honestly I think that the covenant would win for the sole reason of them having the silent shadow(Covenant version of the UNSC's ONI) at their disposal and invisible elites being much more common than their empire counterparts.
Fun fact: *Stormtroopers had aimbot.* This is cannon to and ive noticed this in a new hope. Han when firing with the stormtrooper helmet of would nail his targets in the heart about every single time. But stirmtroopers missed becusse tarken wanted to capture them alive. Thats legit it. They wanted them alive to impress vader and make an example which gave the rebellion the chance to win. Plus stormtroopers have the rifles linked with their helmet that have a HUD. Clones had this too but it wasnt as effective as they were natural marksmen. And due to the vaccume sealed suit radiation does about nothing. Same for gas, meaning Stormtroopers have an extreme advantage. With aiming. And the E-11 had armor penetration capabilitys so the armor of an elite CAN be penetrated if heated up enough and pelted enough. So in conclusion Stormtroopers had a massive accuracy bonus as we've seen in a new hope thats stormtroopers jn the start hit about every shot THROUGH smoke and in it while exiting as well. Making it obvious. Capturing Leia without a single issue. Also, Obi-wan did kinda confirm the accuracy with "Only the accuracy of the Storm-trooper can do this" and we've seen them dominate other battles in the start but slip in the end as they wanna capture the rest of the rebel alliance troops.
Energy sword is better but light saber users have the ability to be much more skilled with their weapon because the force improves their senses greatly
Yep the Empire would dominate in air to air superiority but the ground forces would be an advantage to the covenant. If the Empire did away with the crappy standard LN TIE fighters and replaced them all with interceptors with a simple deflector shield and started mass production of either the TIE Defender or TIE Avenger piloted by ace pilots, the Empire will be nearly unstoppable in space combat. Vader would curb stomp anyone who would face him and If Thrawn is in charge of the fleets they would completely destroy the covenant on all fronts. I say the Empire wins 90 percent of the time. If we include legends lore, if the Empire has a few Eclipse Dreadnoughts they would totally decimate the covenants largest fleets with it's axial superlaser that uses similar tech to the ones used on the death stars. Although less powerful, it still has the capability of one shooting huge ships and rendering huge cities to craters on the surface of planets that even have planetary shields. It's very similar to the glassing tech that the covenant has only it can be used in more applications.
I think the empire does have an edge here, but I do think it's a lot more narrow. I think the most detrimental factor to the Empire is that they are also acting as an occupying force in so many places. In order to hold on to the territory they have they need to commit a good portion of their standing forces before even considering throwing them at the Covenant, while the Covenant has no such issues. Also with the Empire being so large, if the Covenant struck first, I think they could take over a very sizable amount of space before the Empire could effectively retaliate, of they could incorporate any of the species they conquer into the Covenant, then that would give them additional forces/resources to fight with. In the long run I think the real question is, could the Empire successfully rally the Star Wars Galaxy behind their banner? Would factions like the Rebel Alliance see the Covenant as the enemy of their enemy and continue destabilize the Empire during the war, or would they rather deal with the devil they know? Oh yeah and one more thing (and I'm just going with the games here because that's the main thing I know). Lord Hood says that the fleet that destroyed Reach was 50 times the size of the one attacking Earth, which was 15 capital ships. Based on the Fleet of Particular Justice (the one from Halo 1) there are approximately 4 lesser ships for each battleship. That would make the fleet that attacked Earth about 75 ships in total. Now 50 times that size would be about 3750 ships at Reach. In Halo 2 Cortana says that the Fleet around High Charity is the largest one anyone has ever seen, (and the way she says it implies significantly more) which would mean it has to be well over 3750 ships.
You also got to take into account that the Empire was rather spiciest. Human dominated. If you weren't human, you'd have a lot of issues fitting into the Imperial forces, not to mention the normal day to day life. Because of this hate, I see it likely that the non-human species in the star wars galaxy joining the covenant openly, willingly, or unwillingly as I bring up the case where the grunts who were saved by the elites.
Thrawn was an exception, but faced much prejudice in his officer training days, and even later by many rival Moffs who were busy fighting with one another over the next promotion.
It would be so one sided it wouldnt be worth it. The flood are organized and directed by a superintelligence that can out smart AI's and even infect AIs.
2 things: The Milky Way is 100,000 light years in diameter so at 1,000 Ly/day that’s a little over three months. Slower yes, but not quite in an overwhelming sense. In 2526 human AI’s attempted to estimate the rate at which the covenant could glass earth. They estimated this assuming the covenant had the same number of ships as the UNSC. If you did the math it worked out to about 2,000 ships. Now apply Ecks upper limit presumption of 10x the size of humanity and you get 20,000. Not absurd given the fact that Vice Admiral Cole destroyed hundreds in his victories and it wasn’t seen as a large blow by the covenant. Again, the covenant is smaller but not overwhelmingly. Certainly a lot better off than the 4% the Rebels had. Eck did a video: ruclips.net/video/97ArgMdBkSY/видео.html
Numbers don't mean much if covenant ships outrange and outgun imperial ships. And the empire has millions of worlds. But you don't need to defeat an empire conquering world by world, just cut off the head of the snake. If the empire doesn't has policies like the cole protocol then they are fuked the moment the covies board and steal the database.

Storm troopers don’t need to match the physical capabilities of elites when they have superior equipment and weaponry. Their training is probably better but they’re weaker in terms of physical strength but make up for that in marksmanship and also their superior armor that would render covenant weapons useless. Also a shield only blocks a blast, you still have to account for the kinetic energy hitting elite shields that would probably break a few bones if the elites take more than 3 hits. Christopher Vasilakos they do, most imperial artillery or weaponry is equipped to view heat signatures and would be able to fire at them. The armor used by Spartans is mostly metals such as titanium. The armor used by stormtroopers is far beyond that. It isn’t as durable but against plasma, it works amazingly. Also all vehicles and artillery used by stormtroopers would decimate covenant forces. Orlando Carvill The Covenant would simply swarm the Death Star with Ranger Grunts, Jackals, and Elites to open the doors and allow hundreds more troopers including Hunters to storm it and plant bombs to blow it sky high
I think if the Empire started losing the war Palpatine really wouldn’t have to think twice about enlisting other species. Wookiees, nogri, weequay, etc etc are canonically above the hundreds of trillions as seen in the yuuzan vong war.
I imagine that Wookiees and Trandoshans would be very effective soldiers if they were equipped by the Empire. Wookiee and Trandoshans were already some of the best fighters in the Galaxy with their “home made” or commercially sourced weapons and equipment. If the Empire actually took the effort to accept, equip and study how best to use these species, they would be extremely powerful soldiers. Wookiee would have been heavily armored and packing heavy weapons would be walking tanks. Trandoshans equipped with cloaking and state of the art weapons and scanning equipment would have made for amazing special forces and snipers. These super Trandoshans would probably give legendary Jackal snipers a run for their money. While Brutes are probably superior to Wookiee’s, they don’t seem to take advantage of their strength and size and are equipped similarly to Elites.
I think that conflict is pretty much the proper example to see how things would go. Even though the Vong never went against Palpatine, it was the enemy he was preparing for going all the way back to the Seperatist Movement in the first place. An intact Empire with Death Stars, Super Star Destroyers, etc versus the Covenant & the Vong is a win in my book. Both the Old & New Republics would have lost just like the Galactic Alliance lost militarily against the Vong with only crazy Force crap & a living planet putting a stop to things.

I do think you discount the possibility of the Covenant recruiting species in the star wars universe. That's probably not the kind of annalist that you were going for in this, however I think races such as the Twi'lek or the Wookies who have been historically used as slaves the most would almost jump at the chance to join an organized force against the Empire.
That's actually a good point but isn't it that the covenant would enforce their religion on those species? I mean, didn't they practically enslave the Unggoy? Because if so I doubt that those species would agree with such drastic changes.
I don't see how it would be different from the way that the Empire treats them. One of the laws of the Empire is that they can basically enslave any alien for any reason. So given that or the option of joining religious empire that only sorta enslaves it's races, to my knowledge only the Unggoy were completely enslaved because they thought they were to weak to be of any use. Besides after the fall of the Jedi the universe lost all it's faith in the force and a alien empire claiming that they bring salvation would bring hope to the masses. I think that would be a big draw to the down trodden of the galaxy
TheT7770ify The covenant are against Humans. A lot of aliens are allied with Humans, the Empire does enslave but they try to keep in on the low. No one, if any from the star wars universe would join the covenant due to this.
TheT7770ify I don't think that wookies would be a big threat to the empire cause many of them were wiped out and the twi'leks didn't have the numbers to fight even a stormtrooper legion
It's a nice thought, but only about 10% of slave species in the Star Wars Galaxy were enslaved by Empire in one form or another, most were enslaved by Hutts or other criminal cartels, and those were for the most part in favor of the Empire. And an outside, unknown alien race saying join use, believe in what we believe and we'll free won't have the affect you think. Also the Covenant most likely won't distinguish between the aliens and humans when the appear to work together and attack all of them.
It’s downright amazing how one-sided the space battle would be in favor of the Empire, but how one-sided it would be in favor of the Covenant on the ground
I agree with you in space, and I also think the ground battle would be much closer than space, but the Empire are no slouches there either. Only Grunts would be able to compete with the numbers of Imperial Army, and Stormtroopers, while jump packs, miniturized ion torpedos, ion weapons, smart rockets, missile launchers, dioxis grenades, thermal detonators, thermal imploders, squad shields, probes, and automatic turrets would be common for Imperial infantry to have.
Bro Covenant dominates space. Their average ship is 2.5x the size of a Star Destroyer, has stronger shields, more/stronger weaponry, AND a stronger hull.
@@DroidUnit117 uh no. Stars wars ships have turbo lasers that can cause GIGATON explosions Besides the biggest ship in star wars is the death star. Or the bigger death star.
@@FLMKane You understand that both Death Stars were destroyed by fighters right? Weak ones at that, a Seraph from the Covenant absolutely destroys an X-Wing or Tie Fighter. Also, doesn't matter what weapons they have if they can't damage a Covenant ship. Not only is the average Covenant ship 2.5x the size of a Star Destroyer, but they can tank multiple Thermonuclear explosions WITHOUT shields. Also, Imperial Star Destroyers get taken down by fighters/bombers with ease. The durability of Imperial ships is non-existent. While Covenant ships have an arsenal powerful enough to take em down with a single shot.🤷🏼♂️
Tulkas Turambar I'm not, but the covenant slip space has a major advantage over slippage, the ability to go through physical entities, the covenant could come, load up and leave without any real retaliation from empire, just like the Vikings did to Britian, its happend before, the covenant can syphon the Empire's power against them
liam doherty because the vikings only attacked small villages near the coast of Britain then when they actually attacked a settlement they got their ass kicked
The Empire: sir, we seem to be losing. Palpatine: what if I told you I could reactivate the clones and droid factories haven’t all been taken out? The Empire: I would ask how you could know such things. Palpatine: the benefits of being emperor is a pathway to many assets some consider to be unethical.
I think Long Night of Solace wins, by virtue of being several kilometers larger. We dont know how powerful energy projectors are compared to the superlaser on the Eclipse, but energy projectors are easily capable of destroying UNSC ships and even other covenant craft, and while I dont think theres any records of them breaking continents in half with them, they ARE used to glass planets by heating them so much the surface turns to glass.
I feel the covenant are being sold a little short. Yes in a straight up battle the empire would tank due to sheer numbers, and the covenant would die before surrendering but they weren't dumb, and even there a.i could proably realize guirrila warfare would be their best strategy. They are better equipped then the rebels and have way more numbers then they did, plus have a mobile city as there base, which I'd say would put the rebel main fleet to shame in terms of a mobile hq. plus unlike the rebels I feel the have the capacity to capture some world and hold them to gain some ability to produce more ships, and have the ability to take out key installations, bases, industrial complexes, or even planets threw teams of elites with cloaking and such, or simply glassing them from space. I just feel the covenant would realize they need to do guirrella warfare as admited their commanders and tactics where better and they have a better fighting force and capacity then the rebels.
Meme Supremacy you forget that high charity itself has ridiculous manufacturing capabilities. Think, a planet only has it's surface area to be used for manufacturing, digging down much, you'd run into the core and melt, high charity, you have it's VOLUME to work, in addition to covenant planet based factories, high charity can do a lot
If we have full covie capabilities, we'd also have Unyielding Hierophant, a massive space station with it's own large fleet. I feel if the covies are attacking, they have a better chance of fighting this war. If it isn't an all out brawl like proposed by EL, the empire-covenant would probably turn into a very long, drawn out and bloody affair, constantly pulling in more and more reasources from the rest of the empire. Do you think the covenant would be able to gather SW races to their banner? They have been shown to be quite diplomatic when it comes to Abby one other than the humans, with the majority if jackles being 'hired' rather than subjugated, for example. I could see them gathering allies of opprotunity, even if they don't intend to stay friends for ever.

Really, that wouldn't be a fair comparison I'm sure we know. The question is how Imperial sharpshooters would compare to Jackal snipers, and how Stormtroopers and/or Imperial Army would compare to likely the only Covenant troop to even come close to matching them in numbers, Grunts.
I say the covenant could give the empire a run for its money, the forerunner dreadnought could beat back a small fleet of imperial ships by itself. Slipspace is slower than hyperspace but slipspace could pass through solid objects unlike hyperspace, so the covenant could launch a massive attack on kaut yards and kamino, they could bypass the outer defenses and attack the planet directly before fleeing the larger empire counter attack, that would cripple them in the long run and using pinpoint jumps they could stay outside of weapons range but still pommel them.
Yes this is all true, and i am for the covenant on this one. But the empire is huge and like eckharts said, if the covenant lose a ship, it is far more devastating to them, unlike the empire who can just build a new one in a day or so.
alphatrex612 not if they got industrial territories first. If I were a shipmaster I would destroy as many industrial planets as possible and have other fleets hit the training ground. The only problem are the force users without Palpatine and Vader they won't have as much tactical superiority. Imperial generals don't know how they operate. The covenant have tangled with humans before and since all sentient being in the galaxy act like humans they know how humans operate so technically they could predict the empires movements. Thats my opinion though.
You're being stupidly biased. Why couldn't the Empire do the same? "attack the drive yards" The empire has thousands and the Covenant has possibly less than 100. By what logic could 1 dreadnaugh block a Imperial fleet? XD Pure speculation. 1 Super ISD could do the same, it has 100× the fire power of any normal Covenant ships. The Empire has more capital ships than the Covenant has ships in general
Dank God -Carlo- Zamasu well the dreadnaught thing holding back a fleet could have something to do with the species that designed it, I mean the forerunners could literally wipe the entire galaxy of life with a turn of a digital key
Jared R except most industrial planets that the empire controlled had its own orbital defences, like for Kuat Drive yards they would have Golan MKIII battle stations (which I believe can blow up an ISD II without any issues), ground based turbolasers, planetary shield generators, and it's own small defence fleet. Also depending on which planet they hit it could have some very dangerous private defences. Like Kuat Drive Yards would have multiple Mandator II dreadnoughts. Corellia would have its own battleships and cruisers. Fondor had its own dedicated defence fleet. And if the Covenant decided to attack Mon Cala, even the rebels would show up to defend it.
I think an under represented strength here is I believe slip space drives are not limited in the same way hyperspace lanes are. It may not completely flip the result but the covenants ability to ignore that limitation and interdictions fields means while slower they are arguably more mobile than the empire.
@Félix Berbakow the grunts aren’t weak their as strong as the average human if not stronger seeing how the higher ranks are given the covenant equivalent of a rocket launcher and their taller then Japanese men their only considered weak and short next to a 7ft tall super soldier that carries over a ton of armor. Elites are still great leaders and tacticians and very few times I’ve seen that their arrogant has cost them an easy battle but imperial leader regularly lose to smaller weaker forces because of their arrogants. Brutes aren’t stupid their understanding of thermal and gravitational manipulation far surpasses the empires. And jackals are cowards but they still will fight and won’t runaway in battle not to mention as a sniper they are better then any human can hope to be. Also storm troopers aim sucks because their helmets limit the amount they can see not because of what you said. Not to mention the empire is really xenophobic while the covenant excepts all species except humans so they’d just get all the empires non human species to join to bluster their numbers. Edit: when I mentioned the helmet thing I’m talking about cannon all though I’m a legends fan I do not know the reason for it in legends. Also what about every other instance of them having bad aim when they weren’t on the Death Star.

And nothing unites a nation like an external enemy.
Nathan Kingham That is true, that's how the San shyuum defeated the sangheili, with hit and run tactics utilizing the dreadnought
Nathan Kingham in halo 3 it was shrugging off mac blasts like they were nothing
NoctaliGamer it depends. Truth could have gone anywhere when high charity fell, but he chose to go to earth, where he knew the UNSC were waiting for him and SMACs. He could have waited to get a support fleet to follow the dreadnaught to make sure it was safe but he didn't. I think that in the most extreme case, like if high charity was targeted by the Death Star, it would be used. How? I don't know, but in this goal war scenario, we have to assume that the winner has to eradicate the loser, which means eradicating the dreadnaught, which isn't easy.
Nathan Kingham yea but can it take on the death star or a super star destroyer or an eclipse class or even the galaxy gun or sun crusher
You forgot the Covenant's active camouflage. They can make entire fleets invisible if they wanted, I'm pretty sure.
doesn't it just apply to troops and spec ops types? just asking whether I'm wrong

Here’s an interesting “what-if” scenario:
- Let the Covenant and the Empire exist in the same universe from the very beginning.
Energy sword vs. Lightsaber?
Game theory made a video on it
Energy sword is better but light saber users have the ability to be much more skilled with their weapon because the force improves their senses greatly
I would LOVE to see an AT-AT duke it out with a Scarab.

Hmm how about next: Flood vs Resident Evil Zombies
It would be so one sided it wouldnt be worth it. The flood are organized and directed by a superintelligence that can out smart AI's and even infect AIs.
2 things:
The Milky Way is 100,000 light years in diameter so at 1,000 Ly/day that’s a little over three months.
"Civilian infrastructure" galactic empire: "come again?"
Your right, the empire would just defeat them by shear number and also their massive industrial capabilities.
@Dylan Brown Not really

The UNSC would have lost to the Covenant, if it wasn't for other variables and there own religious pious nonsense. The UNSC didn't beat them either, and they would have been consumed if it was not for the shipmaster, who I might add had complete Technical parity with the covenant :).

@@Soft__lemons Nah, Elites are good soldiers they would be better trained then Stormies. Clone would prolly be superior in range but in melee the Elites would terror them apart. Also elites have shields and cloaking so they have pretty strong edge.
Christopher Vasilakos clones aren’t involved. If they were, their training would be immensely superior. It isn’t a war with close ranged weapons, it’s a war of technology and the empire succeeds in that field.
@@Soft__lemons eh plasma would burn right through the plastoid, so would crystals from the needlers all the shit the Elites use burn through Spartan Armor if it doesn't have shields. Stormtroopers have cheap plastoid and the quality varies im sorry but in a single pitched battle the elites would decimate the stormtrooper, we also even had take the mentality into mind not every stormtrooper is a fanatic zealot compared to Elites. Morale would be a main thing the elites would probably cloak themselves before battle and get as close to the stormtroopers as possible and just shred them in cqc i doubt the empire has anything to counter active camo atleast what ive seen.
Also you must remember you can’t base your argument solely off of elites when they aren’t the entire military. But even if they were, they’re inferior technology, equipment and weaponry just wouldn’t help them at all. They would have to follow the footsteps of the rebels and use guerrilla tactics in order to stand a chance but even the rebels had more advanced weaponry, equipment and numbers. The only thing i can agree on you with is the mindset but the stormtroopers will only be intimidated by the looks of the elites. Once they start massacring them, they’re morale will rise. Also stormtroopers have strong national pride so they won’t run from the enemy and they’ll face them head on- from a distance. The elites don’t stand a chance, i apologize.

Orlando Carvill it takes time for the Death Star to fire not allowing it to fire before they glass the planet and run
@@afisch1694 the death star can fire to destroy a planet in 24 hours but using a single reactor reduces it times greatly, DS 2 can fire to blow ships 5 minutes per shot, also each death star has 15,000 turbolasers, 10,000 laser cannons and 5,000 ion cannons, enough to mop the entire high charity defense fleet on its own, and both death stars have a defense fleet with hundreds of capital ships and tens of thousands of tie class starfighters.
also the covenant slipspace tech is so slow that by the first contact with the empire the next time the covenant arrive to a system it would be 2 months later and every single planet would be more than ready to counter the covenant and they would most likely have military plans to entrap the covenant and blow them, also the covenant took over 2 weeks and more than 300 ships to not even fulLy glass reach so WRONG, they would be dead before glassing a single planet.

@Jackerson117 true
The real question is
Who would win?
Chips Dubbo or Darth Jar jar
it would be a tie and a dead universe, the two are immortal and have god tier powers
Darth jar jar is a demigod but chips dubbo is THE god who makes Christianity's God look like a Karen with a spork
Darth Helmet, obviously
Their battle would rip the multiverse apart so a draw
Yeah but what about Henry the friendly Elite.
Stars wars ships have turbo lasers that can cause GIGATON explosions

The durability of Imperial ships is non-existent. liam doherty The Empire could just blow up the planet. Also do not underestimate the power of the force.

Starship comparison: Eclipse star dreadnaught vs Long night of Solace
mr anonymous Long night of solace would rape the eclipse lol
Yeah if the Eclipse uses its Superweapon it's won easy.
were it so easy.
Now that isn’t even fair, long night of solace would devastate anything really, unless noble team comes and screws them up again
Shadow Ranger forgot to consider it, thanks!
Funny idea. The Rebels team up with the Covenant, the first engagement the Covies have against the Empire is Endor. Imagine the Empire's reaction.
Rebels had Plot armor tho.. soooo

@@Pipitus1 he said storm trooper 🤦♂️
Storm troopers are compared to grunts. Death troopers are the comparison to jackal snipers.
In the beginning of the human covenant war _spartans_ sometimes struggled fighting jackals. The empire is screwed
"attack the drive yards"
The empire has thousands and the Covenant has possibly less than 100.
By what logic could 1 dreadnaugh block a Imperial fleet? XD
Pure speculation.
Damn. The Covenant looks so much better than the Empire seeing them side by side.
They forget to add force users....
