One day I want to do something like this to my 2000 NB. A turbo Miata seems like the ultimate driving fun experience and NB's are a good platform for turbocharging
Love seeing the smiles when someone's a passenger in their own car ❤️
The reliability comment is so accurate. I've owned a MP62 supercharged NB for ten years now. I drive it like a maniac, and all I did was change the oil every year and brake pads twice. It's honestly incredible
Awesome video, glad I found ya. Recently bought a NB1 after actual years of looking.
I love patty's miata! first saw him on winding road/thetopher with this miata....pretty crazy what its come to!
Very clean car patty! Rust free NB's are becoming rare!
Another great and FUN review.
Absolutely great video 👍
dude your laugh is great you should be the next jeremy clarkson
Seriously thinking about doing the FM turbo because my wife and I frequently road trip to Colorado. The power loss at high altitude on a naturally aspirated engine is severe, and turbo solves that problem.
Where are you going in Colorado
FM kit took me 3 afternoons to install for anyone wondering.
Same with my $600 ebay kit
@@PhantomShane914 How's it driving?
@@chappy3669 that setup is long gone. Made 280whp and 250wtq at 17psi. I've got a different car now with a built motor and a gtx3071r at 20psi
It took a month on jack stands? Didn't he say it was a bolt on kit?
Is it possible to install the Same kit on my 1998 nb?
What size wheels do you have on those 205s?
Do you need a lot of tools to do it by yourself?
you ask smart questions
I wouldn't use the word 'mis-shift', but after my Pontiac / Holden tranny slappin' I must have gotten spoiled. The manual Miata short-throw(?) is tight! I've mis-dumped into Second one too many times, now I have it wrangled, mostly. Always shiftin'! Woo-Hoo!
How did you program the switch for saving fuel/making more power?
Megasquirt has an input for map switching. Basically, it's a switched ground so open circuit is one map, grounded is another etc.
@@williamrori1274 thank you! Didn't know that
@@lil_woody_420 Yep, most standalones have a feature like that.
Patti boi!
Does it have ac
Ahhhh, I miss turbo!
They guy driving is so fucking stoned holy shit lmao
is this a completely stock engine internally? or do you have upgraded fuel injectors and the like
No modification is needed to run the FM kit, though a clutch is basically needed. Base kit is limited at “180-200hp” via the injectors.
The kit includes a piggyback tuner to compensate
If I ever buy a Miata it’ll have lots of Flyin’ Miata kit
How much life does it take off your engine?
It’s a 1.8 or 1.6
if in the US, 1.8. I think he said 1.8 but I could be wrong. Only EU had 1.6 NBs.
I got myself a 2004 MAZDASPEED with the Flying Miata with the BIG-Enchilada! Driver used the word 'linear', and I agree totally! My buddy I snagged it from said, 'You WILL be shifting a lOT!' AND that's okay with me! Totally a 'drivers' CAR! Mega-Go-Cart!
Give it a first gear stop shifting early
When are you going to graduate to a real sports car?
