Flyin' Miata Turbo Install

    On this episode of the Miata build we will finally be reinstalling my Flyin’ Miata Turbo Kit. I originally took off my turbo kit because I had a large oil leak coming from my oil drain tube. I found many more issues while taking off the turbo kit and decided to give it a full restoration.
    Here are some of the issues I addressed with the restoration.
    Ceramic coated my turbo manifold and down pipe
    New studs for the manifold and down pipe + Locking Hardware
    New oil feed and drain lines. Added water lines.
    New turbo to intercooler pipe
    New turbo hose clamps
    New Blow Off Valve
    New Air Filter
    I can finally move onto other smaller projects on the Miata now that my turbo is installed again.
    One step closer to hitting the dyno and getting my Miata on the road again!

    Well done. Great descriptions of parts used, etec. I just purchased the FM turbo kit w/coolant re-route and the crossflow w/v2 brushless. Videos like yours are so helpful in what to expect. Sub'd.

    Great video! Excellent camera work and narration. Do you have the part number for the stage8 turbo studs? Seems like the package in the video are for the locking nuts only, not the studs.

    If uninstalling the turbo, do i need to drain the coolant?

      I think you would need to drain the coolant since the lower radiator hose gets removed. I think you could manage to do it without removing the hose and draining the coolant but you would still need to bleed to system on the first start up.

      Not really sure. Not sure how the previous owner took care of the car but they didn’t do a great job
